    Calzone Salcicce
    Adam B.

One of the more lackluster meals I've had in North Beach (and I have tried quite a few places during the pandemic). I should have been skeptical when I saw burgers & fries on the same menu as a chicken parm sandwich. I was really leaning towards a 2-star because of that dry chicken parm sandwich, but the calzone was decent enough to stabilize at 3-stars. Chicken Parm Sandwich: Extremely dry! The chicken cutlet was very thin and a seemingly overcooked. The bread itself seemed over toasted too, given that it was black in parts and quite dry. While a generous helping of tomato sauce might have been able to save the day, only a tiny sliver was spread on the bread. I've had better chicken parm sandwiches at generic sandwich and salad joints in the FiDi! Calzone Salcicce: Compared to the chicken parm sandwich, this was so much better. However, compared to other calzones around town, this was just ok. Wasn't huge, more like a medium pizza folded onto itself. A good amount of ground sausage, mozzarella cheese and sautéed peppers. They went a bit overboard on the mushrooms though, like half as much would have been good. They baked some sauce and cheese on top, which was a nice touch to keep it from getting too dry. Though they didn't offer any sauce on the side and, after I asked, only got a tiny container the same size they use for red pepper flakes.

This place was amazing! Stopped here for appetizers before our dinner reservations. We had the bruschetta and calamari- the mushrooms on the bruschetta were phenomenal and the calamari was also a lot better than we expected! Service was fast and friendly - I will definitely be coming back!

Always saw this place as I walked by Colombus Ave and it looked so much fun with their cute outside seating area. I'm talking about the outside section way in the back where the Cafe is! We came here Pride Sunday chilling and having rose wine which was delightful. Service is friendly and hassle free. Comfortable seating and very casual. Fun place to enjoy on a sunny day! Not super crowded either

I was in the neighborhood on business & decided to try this out for lunch as options are limited right now. They have plexiglass between the tables closest to the street & spaced out. I had the sausage sandwich and it was very good. My daughter had a salad which she enjoyed. There was a crowded lotable in the rear of the place with a lot of young customers who were not socializing too close. I noticed the owner was watching making sure it didn't get too loud as they were drinking etc. The bathroom is small, unisex & needed some attention but wasn't too bad. I'd will return and try the pasta next time.

This is it don't pass it up or you'll regret it!

Amazing cute little place! We had the best service and dinner last night with 11 of us none of us felt crammed in! I forgot what they called it but the pappardelle pasta with short rib sauce was my favorite dish at the table. As much as I enjoyed my spaghetti de mar that pappardelle pasta was something I've never had. Arugula and beer salad was great tiramisu for dessert was great!!! I'll be back!!! Besos! Thank you CA Howard for the amazing night!

We found this place by chance, walking back to our hotel from Pier 39. Graceful manager Vladimir - call me Vlada served us at our table. A very decent red wine and a delicious pepperoni pizza. If you want a short break from walking, this is the place!

    Licked our plates clean!

Excellent traditional Italian faire. Good wine selection. Casual outdoor patio or quaint indoor dining room. House specialties were the best. Chicken parm was ok, not great. Proscuitto & melone was incredible, as was the arugula, goat cheese and beet salad. Gnocchi was fabulous.

Stopped by unexpectedly for breakfast. The breakfast sandwich on a croissant was great. Definitely worth getting!

I also love how quick the service is - I never have to wait more than a minute for my order! The food is also always pipping hot. My regular orders on rotation (I'd give them all 5 stars!): Chicken Momos ($14) - Comes in 8 pieces. The dumplings are large, flavorful, with the perfect skin-to-meat ratio. It is served with Bini's spicy tomato cilantro sauce on top; the sauce is delicious with just a slight/mild kick. Vegetarian Momos ($12) - Comes in 8 pieces. Vegan dumplings filled with tofu, carrots, & cabbage. Also served with the spicy tomato cilantro sauce on top. I love how clean yet tasty this is! Vegetarian Combo ($18) - Comes with 4 vegetarian momos and one veggie side served on top of fragrant basmati rice. For the sides, I love the Baigun Bharta, a tomato-based braised eggplant. It's saucey and pairs extremely well with the rice. The only reason I'd dock off half a star for this combo is the price. You can also mix and match the momos. For a more balanced meal, I request half chicken and half vegetarian ($14). Bini's also has a stand outside the Ferry Building every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. I'd like to give a shoutout to the Bini's servers at the Ferry Building - they're very generous & usually give me 9 pieces of momos whenever I ask for half chicken and half vegetarian (usually 4 chicken & 5 vegetarian).

I walked by the weekend after the 4th, but there was a small crowd and I had appointments so I didn't stop by. The following Saturday, I found the opportunity to stop and chap with the chef owner, Julieta. Reading all of the info on the table about her company, I then studied the menu. Wanting to try as many things as I could, I ordered the combo with the Pollo empanada (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=48&select=ZczDON-aR9OA_VKb97zfow), which came with an orange limeade drink (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=48&select=7HuB84nrruQ3gQrkudoSSQ). The pollo is described as braised chicken with wine and capers. It came with a garliky (sp) mayo sauce and a Panamanian habanero mango hot sauce. I was bouncing between the two in dipping but found that I enjoy the spicy one better. Do have something to soothe your tongue if you are spice sensitive. It was good but on the drier side filling wise. From the mini sweet empanadas section of the menu, I tried the Tropical Jam empanada (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=48&select=BfNrvspmq90iSeHXyIkzKg), mango, pineapple, and guava and had this as an appetizer since my stomach was growling. I enjoyed the fruity flavors which paired well with the not-to-buttery shell. I will get this again. After I made my purchase, a few more customers walked up. This stand is here for the next two Saturdays (ends in July). The owner chef is very nice and appreciative. Support local businesses and stop here. You may find something that you'll like too.
