    Black coffee
    Kristen H.

So not actually French. It's Russian. But hey maybe they have a daughter named Paris they named it after. Russian pastries but they're just as good as French. I just got coffee since I can't fit a coffeemaker in my little studio. No counter space. Wish I could afford the pastries. I can financially but not uh, scale-fully. Too much sugar lately and I can't afford new pants on top of it all. Cute seating area and normal service, decent prices.

Wide variety of sweets: pastries, cakes, custards, cookies, tarts, and more. Also has hot/cold sandwiches and soups. This is the place I go to for a chocolate croissant. Shaded area with plenty of tables to sit at outside. Hidden gem.

    Borsch with beef

The best Russian cuisine cafe in Los Angeles! Large portions! Polite and friendly staff. I recommend!

I come for the borsch every time!

I've been here many times and always come back for the borsch. Despite the name, it appears to be a Russian or Ukrainian place with food of the like, and delicious baked goods. Sometimes it feels like I'm the only native English speaker around, which is a dead giveaway it's authentic. The sandwiches here look good too! Tip: there's no tap water. Only bottled.

Tiramisu and a sad excuse for some version of a "napoleon".

Ive been on a napoleon kick lately and found this place and decided to try it The first couple times the napoleon was okay not as good as one at a similar European bakery a few streets up (papillion international bakery) But today i asked for the same thing and they sold me something that was essentially one of those mexican wafer cookies disguised as a napoleon it was god awful. With cheap tasteless play doh-like frosting filling. The tiramisu is alright, not much flavor. I also got some beef stick thing that also wasnt very good (respectfully dont know what the girl behind the counter called it) . And the service is weird because they dont speak much english so its hard to be helped properly. As for the other food they serve i have no idea but i do know their pastries and service have deterred me from ever wanting to try it.

    Borscht
    Malikah P.

I've been here twice and tried their borscht, beef stroganoff with buckwheat, soup dumplings (don't remember the exact name), tiramisu, pavlova, and a few other things I don't remember the names of. Everything is always soooo good! Flavors are perfect! Such great comfort food!

Lovely collection, good food, good ambience. Even the coffee is great. Staff is courteous.

One of the best cafés in Los Angeles that serves borscht. The pastries are also good, and the chebureki are excellent.

Yummy eclairs, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. Came on a Friday and they closed at 6pm and not 8pm FYI (unlike what Yelp says)

She let me know that Memorylook is known for einspanners and they have their own parking lot. When there's a parking lot on-site, say less.. Parking wasn't too difficult to come by, and there are even a few electric charging spots if you need it. I stopped by around noontime and there were people inside/outside chatting, working, taking pics in the photobooth, etc. The line went by quickly and I had my hojicha einspanner in no time! It was so tasty!! The cream top was light and not too sweet. The hojicha was smooth. I really enjoyed it, and the latte definitely helped me keep cool while driving around LA on such a hot day. The cream top works nicely with the matcha, the matcha flavor is pretty light Blood Orangeade 1/5: this was honestly not my fav. I didn't end up finishing it, it tasted like syrup+sparkling water. The drinks weren't spectacular, but given the easy parking and tables, I'd prob come back to study

The café is located within an apartment complex and offers underground parking, which the coffee shop validates the first hour is only $3. Street parking is also available. You follow the café signs to an elevator, and once you arrive, you're welcomed into a moody, beautiful space. DOGS ARE ALLOWED which is awesome. There's plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. The outdoor area feels like a balcony terrace combo with a small but lovely view of the LA skyline. We sat here and our doggo enjoyed a nap in the sun. It's a great spot to work, study, or catch up with friends without feeling cramped or rushed. The staff was incredibly kind, welcoming, and friendly. They offer a nice variety of drinks, and we ordered an iced matcha latte and a hot Madagascar vanilla latte. For pastries, we chose a guava madeleine and a cookie butter madeleine. Everything is made fresh, and they actually whisk the matcha for each drink, which really shows in the quality. Our drinks came out quickly and were delicious. I loved my matcha, and my husband really enjoyed his latte. The pastries were also great, especially the cookie butter madeleine. This café is dog-friendly, which is a nice bonus. Overall, it was such a pleasant experience, and we'll definitely be back.

They only validate for 30 minutes, which honestly feels short given the setup. The vibes are immaculate though. Excellent music selection and sound quality -- it made the space really easy to focus in (unless you hate music). That alone elevated the experience a lot for me. I went on a Monday around 5 PM and they had no food available, which was disappointing because the kimchi fried rice sounded amazing. I ordered the matcha, and it was genuinely excellent. The foam had a slight saltiness to it that paired really well with the drink, and the matcha itself tasted high quality. I wouldn't change anything about it. My drink came out to around $9 including tip. Overall, I really liked this place and would probably come here often if I lived nearby. Between the expensive parking, limited outlet-to-seat ratio, and lack of food during my visit, I'd give it a solid 4/5.

Orange Bianco- wasn't bad but not my favorite. It tasted like coffee with orange juice. Injeolmi Latte -tastes just like what you expect it to taste like. If you're a slow drinker like myself, this drink thickens as it sits. In the beginning it was great but personally the thick roasted soybean powder was too much texture.

I paused, glanced at the empty café behind me, and replied, "There are plenty available--surely I can use one." He continued, in a dismissive tone, speaking to me in a way that felt unnecessarily disrespectful. I chose to walk away and still enjoy my pour-over. But it's not just about serving good coffee.
