I made an order of rice with pork belly which cost &16.95 and took around 11 minutes to arrive. The pork belly was very soft and the egg was a nice touch. I greatly enjoyed the little side of pickled cabbage was delicious. I had also gotten an original milk tea which is $5.95 and added tapioca pearls for $1 extra. The tea itself was good and the pearls soft though I did notice the pearls themselves to have an almost crumbly texture to it which was a bit odd and to be honest not in a good way considering one has to pay extra for it. Overall, this place is somewhere I could see myself going back.

The volcanic salmon was the standout of the night: sizzling, tender, and packed with flavor. You can tell they put real care into the way they season and cook their dishes. The sushi rolls were clean, balanced, and plated with intention. Even the appetizers came out crisp and hot, not greasy. The space itself is modern and inviting, with a sleek interior that makes the whole experience feel elevated without being pretentious. The restaurant is comfortable but decor is 90s coffee shop goes ramen. Metal tables and chairs. Minimalist. Nice wall paintings and a bit of steaming. Otherwise fairly nondescript. I ordered hibachi chicken. It came with soup and salad, both fairly average and consistent with what you get at other hibachi restaurants. The chicken was tasty, but somewhat rubbery and consistency, and the fried rice was moist, but bland. The portion was excellent, but it was overall somewhat average and not up to the standards that I am used to at better hibachi restaurants. The price was slightly lower than it is standard hibachi restaurant where it is served Teppanyaki style, but not enough to offset the loss of the entertainment and the additional food items and service that you receive. Overall, I found things pretty average. Having a $20 plus entrée served on a plastic plate with package plastic utensils just does not seem to scream out value to me. I thought everything was OK but I do not think this will be a place I will frequent.

It's a nice restaurant and very welcoming. They have a very nice menu with a lot of choices. But here is where it fell down for me. I ordered chirashi. This is one of my favorite comfort meals. The word chirash means scatter and as such, it is typically a scattering of foods on top of a bowl of sushi rice. The ingredients may vary from chef to chef, but the idea behind it is artistry, where the chef scatters colorful fish, egg, vegetables usually garnished with seaweed. There is the Kanto style which is the simpler of the two and the Kansai style which is more elaborate because it adds carrots, burdock root, lotus root, and dried shiitake mushrooms to the mix. But what is common to all chrashi is the scattering of different types of topping. This mess was neither. It is simply a bed of rice topped with masago on a plate surrounded with some sashimi. Not a lot of variety. To their credit, the sashimi was excellent. It was tasty. It was neither aesthetically pleasing or with enough variety to be even close to what other restaurants would call chirashi. As I stated, the quality was great and it was tasty, but it was not what I ordered or expected and was agreed just enough that I don't believe I will go back. Too many other better local choices.
