A sausage egg and cheese minus the cheese

Guess the cheese is optional even when they charge you for it.... Just glad the meat wasn't freezer burnt this time like the last one I ordered.

Iced Spiced Chai, Rainbow Bagel with cream cheese

MY FAVORITE CAFE EVER. Also THE cafe for city college students, so it can get pretty busy but service is always fast. Haven't met one person who doesn't love it here! They have the best chai ever I'm not kidding. I love it here and I genuinely force myself not to get it multiple times a day.

Come close so I can whisper this in your ear because I don't want everyone to hear this; their bacon avocado sandwich is slapping and the caramel ice latte is one of the best I've ever had. This is my go to when I am close by and need my coffee fix. The service is on point even when they are busy. Also, they have a little space for eating. It's a no frills kind of place but with big flavors. I do recommend their coffee when you need that pick me up!

Matcha latte and avocado BLT

It's rare to get coffee for $2 in this economy. Small little corner across from city college. I ordered a matcha latte and avocado BLT. Matcha wasn't bad, good balance of matcha to milk. The sandwich was a little salty to my preference. My order came out to be under $15 Many people were saying the wait is long and it did feel like a long wait for a sandwich to go. Still, a cute spot to hit in the neighborhood for quick eats by the campus.

Black Bean Burger

Over 5 years as being a not-so-consistent customer, this place is still the BEST! They have been consistent with their Food quality, portion size, price, EXCEPTIONALLY FRIENDLY service! A true GEM worth climbing the hills of the (Hamilton) Heights to get to! As an omnivore, my favorite item is the black bean burger. With appreciation, Angela, Bed Stuy Brooklyn

Corn Muffin

Café One is definitely a gem I will return to. The coffee here was refreshing because as a Colombian Native it reminded me of our coffee. Perfectly blended and not too bitter. The staff was quick and the place was clean. I thought to get a muffin and I'm happy I did because it was moist and better than I expected. I hope to spend more time next time I stop by and recommend that if you're in the area you try it out 100%

Had a pretty good lunch here recently. I ordered on seamless and picked it up and it looks like the prices are higher to order through that than in store. They were really busy and it took 30! mins for my food to be ready which I was pretty annoyed by. The inside is small and they have some outdoor seating. I ordered the Italian wrap and it was good. I've had it from here before and this time wasn't as good, honestly. I also tried the spicy beef sandwich with sauce on the side. It was good but entirely fell apart so it was hard to eat. Overall, I'd say the food was good but the wait was way too long for me. It looked like a lot of people were getting coffee and special drinks so maybe I'll try one instead next time.

Pastrami-Turkey-Swiss sandwich
Lauren H.

This was my first time here. I'm visiting a friend that lives close and she goes here a lot. I got the pastrami, turkey, and Swiss panini. Honestly, it would have been better with pickles but it was really good. I got a side of bbq chips and to drink I got the iced chai with almond milk. Everything was so good but the chai is incredible! I'm very picky when it comes to my chai but this is one of the best I've ever had. There is one place in the town I live that keeps the #1 spot of all time but this is a VERY close second. I've tried dozens of chais so that is a pretty big statement from me. Get it and thank me later. 10/10 go here.

After a few days in the city together, my friend and I stopped in for breakfast before parting ways. The vibe was cozy, relaxed, and welcoming, exactly what you want from a local coffee shop. The giant windows lend a ton of natural light, especially for place that almost needs to wait until midday for some sunshine. The bagels absolutely hit the spot: fresh, satisfying, and exactly what we needed. Nothing overly complicated, just solid, well-executed breakfast. They have pastries and sandwiches, as well, but your girl needed a real New York bagel before this trip was through. What really stood out for me, though, was the hot cider on special. Yes, a kale salad and a guava waffle. Stay with me. The salad is fresh, savory, and hearty, especially with the grilled chicken. Then comes the waffle--warm, slightly sweet, and topped with guava rum butter that melts into every little pocket. Oh my goodness. Taking a bite of the savory chicken and kale, followed by that soft guava waffle, gives me the perfect sweet-and-savory meal. It should not work as beautifully as it does, but it absolutely does. And the brown sugar latte? Always. It's smooth, comforting, and sweet without tasting like someone poured syrup into a cup and called it coffee. The space has the easy, unhurried feeling of a neighborhood coffee shop, but the menu is giving a real brunch experience. It's cozy and beautifully lit during the day--the kind of place where you can settle in and enjoy yourself without feeling rushed. The service matches that energy. Everyone is attentive, kind, and genuinely knows the menu. They always greet you with a smile and give you exactly the right amount of small talk: enough to make you feel welcomed, never so much that it interrupts your peace. I ended up starving and looking for a place in the neighborhood for a breakfast sandwich. Rimar looked good from the outside, there were a bunch of banners announcing them as a "brand new" business having a "grand opening". Once inside, I realized that was probably not true. Looking around, I didn't see any coffee nor was there any kind of posted menu indicating the possibility of breakfast sandwiches. The man behind the counter was friendly enough though, and took my order for 2 bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches on a roll. He also indicated that he DID have coffee. Great! While I was waiting in the store for 15 minutes for my order. I noticed a woman (maybe another owner) casing the place down and staring at everyone who entered. I noticed that the rest of the store sold only a bleak selection of junk food. There was nothing interesting on the shelves! I noticed a man and woman come in, have an entirely transactional conversation and then leave, buying nothing. I noticed two separate hipsters walk in, look around and then walk out. I waited and waited. Finally, my order was ready. Without any register or paper calculations, the man told me my order was $10 exactly. Not feeling too good about that. The coffee was super hot and actually ok, I think he brewed a fresh pot on my request (thank you for that). The breakfast sandwiches were pretty awful. Greasy eggs, strangely chopped and super greasy bacon, you get the picture. I think Rimar could really do much better.
