Phenomenal! That is the word!! We are in town and ordered delivery from here last night. So this review is strictly on the food alone. Our order was enormous, the portions are fit for a king - a belt loosening feast was had by all! The food was very good and authentic. The potato salad was delicious, the cabbage, the kraut, the spaetzel, the potato pancakes, the beef, the pork, the fish, the lemon berry mascarpone, & the Vienna chocolate dessert, - ALL OF IT was super yummy. It's a great choice, you will not be disappointed by anything on the menu so go ahead and get all of the food you want. We will be ordering from here again before we leave. There's nothing this good back home - Enjoy!! read more

My boyfriend and I visited Cafe Old Vienna during our annual Myrtle Beach trip, and this was my very first time trying German food. I was honestly very surprised by how much I enjoyed everything. The inside of this quaint little restaurant has a strong German feel. The staff are dressed traditionally, which makes the whole place feel charming and authentic. It is honestly adorable. I would love to return when they have live music to enjoy the full experience. We started with the potato pancakes and the sausage platter, and both were excellent. Every sausage on the platter was seasoned so well that I did not even need mustard. I ate each one exactly as it was served, and the flavor was fantastic. The pretzels that came with the platter were also very good. The potato pancakes were phenomenal. I easily could have eaten more, but I wanted to save room for my entrée. For my meal, I ordered the veal schnitzel with spaetzle and potato salad, along with mushroom gravy. The veal was incredibly tender and absolutely delicious. I loved it so much that I want to try making it at home. The spaetzle was fantastic and something completely new for me. The mushroom gravy really brought everything together and made the dish feel complete. The potato salad was just average, but everything else was outstanding. My boyfriend ordered the pork schnitzel with spaetzle and really enjoyed his meal as well. Between the music, the cozy atmosphere, and the wonderful food, the entire experience was warm and memorable. This was such a great introduction to German cuisine, and I would definitely return. read more

I really enjoy the authentic German/Austrian Food set in a realistic venue. The staff are mostly dressed in real German attire. We had Chicken and Pork Schnitzel Topped with Gravy on the pork and mushroom Gravy on the pork. We had the best I've eaten Red Cabbage. No bit or bitterness. Try it. I had the chef's Mushroom soup and it was excellent. It's a interesting place with good service. I've been before and will return! read more

Great comfortable spot to hang out while at Myrtle Beach. Beers were awesome, all of the sausages are excellently flavored and cooked nice and hot. So many mustard varieties and the beer cheese is fantastic with their pretzels. Absolutely an excellent spot for happy hours and its service was fantastic. Bartender was super on top of the bar area and we reloaded on our plates a few times because we came with an appetite. read more

Paulaner beer on Tap and delicious Schnitzel and Spaetzle, sign me up. One of my favorite spots in the area to enjoy a meal. Cafe Old Vienna is a casual restaurant offering Austrian & German dishes, a beer garden & live music. Entrees include pork cordon blue, weiss-wurst, Viennese gulasch, pierogies, bratwurst, Sauerbraten, Potato Pancakes, Stuffed Cabbage, Veal Wiener Schnitzel, delicious homemade soups and fresh salads, homemade Apple Strudel and a variety of Seafood like Trout Filet, Grouper and Fish & Chips. Service has always been top notch and attentive on our visits. The restaurant does have onsite parking, though the spaces are limited. read more

Absolutely loved our meal here this evening. My daughter chose this restaurant and she wasn't disappointed! We ordered the German Feast for 2 and there wasn't a thing on that plate that wasn't delicious. The pork Wiener schnitzel was pounded thin and perfectly crisped. The potatoes were crispy on the outside and buttery soft inside. The sauerkraut and red cabbage provided a bright contrast to the heavy meat plate. I don't know the difference between the brauts but they were all tasty especially when adding the sweet hot mustard. We had quite a bit of leftovers so we will enjoy the meal again. The Bloody Mary was perfectly spiced and bold. Our server Kayla was attentive and efficient even though the place was packed. We made reservations which I highly recommend doing. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town. read more

Went for dessert because they are known to have sachertorte. We ordered that and a piece of crème brûlée cheesecake. Both obviously came from a frozen cake. Neither was very good. At $9.00 a slice I expect more. The server never once asked us how they were. Their dinners smelled good and they have a nice ambiance. I'd go back for that but I'd definitely skip dessert. read more

Who'd a thunk you could get an authentic Bavarian meal a couple blocks off the beach in Myrtle? We walked in and were quickly seated at a high top table in the bar area. Service was friendly and helpful. Food was just what we were hoping for. The salads, apps, mains and sides were all fresh and well seasoned. Oh, and the beer was cold!! read more

Probably the best restaurant (and definitely the most unique) in Myrtle Beach. The service was amazing, big thanks to Jeff! Food was 10/10. Really flavorful sausages and schnitzel! Beer was fun too, you can do a flight if you want to try all of their German-styled beer on tap. If you need a break from the seafood or fast food spots, try here! read more

Showed up for happy hour just to have a couple of German beers. (Not hungry, hahaha!) Sat at the bar and had a flight of 6 beers on tap then a couple of pints (actually 14 oz), and ordered food from the happy hour menu. Schnitzel bites, fried mushrooms, and a pretzel. Omg. I could drink the beer cheese from a straw. I don't eat meat, but I filled up on carbs and yummy sauces. Oh and Noah was our bartender- he was awesome! The vibe is fun, and we completely forgot we were in Myrtle Beach! Live music on a Friday evening with an accordion. Prost! read more

This is the dinner I look forward to most on our annual visit to Myrtle Beach. The food is always consistently amazing and the service is top notch. The Beer Cheese soup was the surprising highlight of the meal, but the schnitzels did not disappoint. Their spaetzel with mushroom gravy takes the same as what is served in Germany. Great value for the money spent read more

"We caught the COV Catering truck at the Little River Food Truck Festival today, and they absolutely stole the show! We ordered a couple of the Chicken Schnitzel Sandwiches and some fries, and I'm not exaggerating when I say it was the best schnitzel I've ever had. The sandwich was huge--definitely didn't skimp on the portions--and the breading was perfectly crispy and flavorful. Also, a huge shoutout for the small details: the bottled Diet Cokes were ice cold. Most of the time at these outdoor festivals, you're lucky to get a 'cool' drink, but these were refreshing and perfect for a day out in the sun. If you missed COV here in Little River you can catch up with them at the Myrtle Beach Food Truck Festival on April 10-12 " read more

I'm making this review for my wife who was visiting the area for a conference. She had some time to kill and had spotted this restaurant on her way in to town. I have to say that I was on the phone with her and she was just blown away. She was raving about the decor, the service and especially about the food. She lived in Germany during college so she knows what she's talking about. If you like German food and are in the area this is a "do not miss" spot. read more

Cool German Restaurant Ambiance was fun but accordion player is a bit much fof such a small space. It was very hard to talk. Service was very attentive but we felt a bit rushed when two of our party were still eating and we were asked if we wanted dessert. Hungarian Gulash was fabulous. People who got weiner schnitzel were VERY pleased. Those who got the sauerbraurten were also happy. The stuffed cabbage was more like a hard Chinese sausage...really would not recommend and the veggie medley that came with it was barely cooked... in fact it was more like they blanched them. I've had better spaetzle. So, some good, some bad but I doubt I will go back again. Thanks read more

Great food, great service, great fun!!! We always enjoy Cafe Old Vienna. And the restaurant feels like a Vienna restaurant.

We stopped in here for dinner one night before heading to the Boardwalk. It was boiling hot outside, but the restaurant was very comfortable inside. Very nice decor throughout the restaurant. Friendly staff and clean. There is indoor seating and a small patio outside. I would not suggest sitting on the patio during the summer months. The food tasted amazing. Authentic to German-Austrian cuisine. The schnitzel was fried perfectly, and had lots of flavor. The gravy on top had a rich mushroom flavor. The spetzel was freshly home made. The sweetness of the red cabbage complemented the savory noodles and meat. Would definitely return next time I'm in Myrtle Beach. Five stars! read more

Ok not sure what is going on here, and have heard via the grapevine that the restaurant we have come to love for its German food has changed hands and is under new management. Let's start with the stable of German cuisine, the Weiner schnitzel. It is breaded Veal. Here the breading is falling off the Veal combined with a lack of any real flavoring other than a massive amount of salt. The veal is also stringy and super tough (Make sure u sharping your choppers.). Let's now move onto the Spätzle. Again no flavor combined with the consistency of spaghetti. Breading falling off of veal is a sure sign of poor cooking, (not breaded properly, or oil not hot enough. Spaghetti like Spatzle is more of the same.) I know the restaurant advertises a chief from Bavaria, however the food makes me question if this Bavaria is somewhere in Mexico or South America. The Service like the veal is tough an unfriendly. May also want to suggest to the wait staff to clean/wash there German outfits, no one wants to see bits and pieces of 2 week old meals on there uniforms, makes me think.....if the wait staff looks like this, what is going on in the kitchen. Cost of a dinner for two about 80-100$ including tip. Bottom line strong pass on this Restaurant with the suggestion that if they did changed hands they immediately rehired the German Bavarian Chief. If not, the beer is good and plenty full just eat somewhere else. read more

Germany at Christmas time. Definitely a good place to eat very good German food. Greeted at the hostess station and seated. Vanessa was our super good server. She was very attentive to our allergies, Gluten intolerance and Celiac menus presented. We had our adult beverages and on to the deliciousness. decided to try the garlic soup which I devoured followed by a nice salad and the delicious Pork Belly dinner with enough to be enjoyed the next day for breakfast.
