Interesting little bar and restaurant. Tries to give German local bar. Schnitzel Patty Melt with pork chop was very interesting, it needed more mustard. Wasn't a fan of German potato salad. Service was ok. Looks like a great social spot with seating in outcove.

Fish and chips. Really good. Hot. Be careful.

This is now a favorite of ours when in town. Affordable. Drinks are great. Prices are decent. Food was excellent. Service was top notch. The place can be a bit loud, but it manageable. They had a band playing out back. We chose to sit inside. I would recommend. The fish and chips was excellent. The pretzel's with the mustard they serve was addictive. They should sell the mustard in a jar. Not sure how they made it so good. We would return the next time we're in town.

Excellent restaurant all around! Our server was wonderful, the decor and ambiance was beautiful, and the food was good, traditional German menu items. The staff was attentive, helpful, and courteous. Great for lunch or dinner with friends! Located in Downtown Wilmington, it has lots of seating (both indoor and outdoor). Sanitation rating of 99.5!

Authentic German fare! We truly enjoyed our short stop at Prost. We sat inside at a large wooden table. Our server was friendly and prompt. We enjoyed beers for the table, and I enjoyed a flight- trying out several German beers. They have a good variety and solid prices. The best part was the German food. We ordered potato pancakes with traditional sour cream and applesauce. And we loved the spin on traditional spatzle with the Mac and cheese! So yummy and the noodles were just perfect. Overall, this is a wonderful biergarten everyone should try while in Wilmington!

Ooooo man! Went to a burger joint down the road and was turned away because we had our dogs (we get it). So wandered around the corner and into Prost backyard. They let our dogs hangout and soon more people with dogs showed up. Everyone struck up chatting and it felt like a true bier hall! When I tell you I love German food I can't stress that enough! I was able to have a beer, bratwurst, knackwurst, cabbage and sauerkraut! All were awesome! The staff were attentive and brought drinks for everyone quickly. Love this place! Check it out!

Beautiful restaurant. Love the lights and plants and the outdoor seating area out back. The servers are very knowledgeable and kind. I went with family and didn't expect anything but a salad since I'm vegan, but I was so excited to be able to also get a beyond bratwurst. My family enjoyed their food and I was so happy to have a vegan option!

We haven't been in a while, and now they have a new beer garden! We were having so much fun, we decided to stay and eat dinner. There were 5 of us and we ordered only from the app menu and it was plenty and all delicious!! Also, we've never been served drinks so quickly!! We ordered two cocktails and three beers and got them almost immediately. Love the feel of the place.

What a fun modern take on a German Biergarten. Service was great, vibes were on point and the food was fantastic...oh and the beer selection was robust! The potato pancakes were probably the best I have ever had. Super fun place to come with friends or a date. Tip: in colder months make sure you have a reservation or you will sit outside. It is beautiful outside, just cold.

This place is delicious and awesome! Situated close to our hotel in Wilmington, Prost has both an outdoor area in the back and an indoor section off the street. We hung out at the bar and loved it. The bartender was awesome and attentive. He convinced me to drink more simply through the power of listening to my preferences and making good suggestions! Ha. They have the best and most uniquely German sangria that I've ever tasted, and we took a picture of the ingredients to try to replicate at home. My husband also really liked his local draft beer and drank several before we set off on an evening walk. We were planning to order a full dinner, but the appetizer we got (3 sausages sampler) was ample and filled us up. So delicious with sauerkraut and Brussels sprout slaw plus mustard and curry ketchup. Try it! We had ambitions to try more (and the reviews call out so much as delicious!), but we we quickly filled up and couldn't eat more. Pity because all the dishes around us looked amazing. This place is great!

We were visiting Wilmington for the weekend and decided to check this place out because of the reviews and I'm glad we did! The fries were perfectly seasoned and had the perfect amount of crispiness. The inside is really cool - there's a ton of seating and it's really open. I had the kielbasa that came with a cheese sauce and it was so good. The only thing that fell a little flat was the service. Our waiter was really friendly and helpful at first but unfortunately we were left hanging for a while. We wanted extra sauce and we couldn't get it because our server never came back and someone else had to get us the check. Either way, I enjoyed the food and the vibe so I'd still recommend!

Really awesome beautiful restaurant.Perfect for a great date night. Food was good and the vibe was relaxed. I had the pork fried schnitzel and my friends had the schnitzel ruben and both hit the mark. If you like something different with a new modern day vibe try PROST. You won't be disappointed.

    Delicious!!!

This place gets BUSY and for a good reason, the service is great, and the food is full of FLAVOR. We enjoyed the romantic fireside seating on the patio and can't wait to try the whole menu. Only good things to say about this place, and make a reservation.

We had a wonderful meal here for Mother's Day today! The garden area is really beautiful and the restaurant part was, too! We sat at a table right near the window so we could people watch. The decor and lighting were elegant and romantic. We started with the pretzels. The mustard that came with it has the perfect kick of spice and the beer cheese was really good. Pretzels almost tasted like croissants. I had the Rachel sandwich was delicious! I also had the cucumber salad which had a good flavor. My dad had the Reuben and for me- I think it was one of the best ones that I ever had. The German potato salad was awesome! My mom has a salad and it was huge! Service was great and pricing wasn't bad either. I really enjoyed it here. If you are looking for healthy, ghee may be only like one thing on the menu that you could get- otherwise this is a "heavy" food place.

We started walking around and my wonderful wife suggested Copper Penny. Absolutely! There was a short wait for a table, but we didn't mind. The inside is almost like we remember it. We did notice the menu is a lot smaller. The last time we dined here was around ten years ago. Definitely plenty of options. We went with the onion ring appetizer, Cobb salad, and the BBQ Burger. The atmosphere of Copper Penny is the same. Definitely missed this place. After a short wait our food was brought out. Everything was delicious. It was a little embarrassed after spending $192, on food and drinks for 4, with glasses still full of alcohol when we're were asked to leave. We were told that they are enforcing a 90 min in restaurant visit...to the point where they don't care if we had finished our beer/alcohol...clearly they just wanted us out. I've been to a lot of restaurants all over the world but this was the first time in my life that I was asked to leave...we weren't loitering we only wanted to finish our drinks before leaving...the person didn't look at our situation...was very black and white, "you've been here more than 90mins". Their food is good, they are as popular as ever but clearly not a place for people who want to chat and hang out...copper penny is a restaurant not a hangout spot...to me that's loud and clear. As someone who isn't in Wilmington often I rely on my previous experience as a stating point to my ( restaurant) choice. This experience was so jarring that I'll never recommend copper penny to anyone. The food is good but they really don't want or need non local business!

Went here on Thursday February 12th 2026 with my parents, aunt, uncle and a few friends as a total party of 7. We did make a reservation online and highly recommend to do that. When we arrived, the parking lot was jam packed and we almost couldn't find a spot. However, we were luckily able to park in the back somewhere. This place is like a little house with german memoria on it. in the dining room, they also had an accordion player. When we walked in to the door, we waited about 6 -10 minutes for a host to greet us. When the host finally did, she sat us down right away. Then, we sit down and our server still didn't greet us until like 15 minutes or later. Now, i understand that they were busy- but acknowledge us, address us, take a moment to start us with waters. Although this gave us time to look over the menu if we didn't know what we wanted. Finally the waitress comes over and gets us 7 waters, and 6 beers. We also put in an order of Bratwurst, Bauernwurst, as well as the pretzel appetizer. Appetizers came out in a timely manner. I enjoyed the Bauernwurst, which i think is the one that tasted like hot dogs, as well as the pretzel. The pretzel was big and we did end up sharing it with the whole table. For Entrees, I ordered the chicken Jager with mushrooms and gravy with a side of german potato salad and string beans. The String beans were the vegetable of the day. Oh, and the waitress did a good job with telling us the specials and communicating once everything calmed down. Food seemed to take long to come out, but when it finally did, I enjoyed my Chicken Jager. Only issue is that some others in my party said that their sides/food was cold- even after warming it up a bit- which the waitress did try to fix at least. Maybe the heat lamp is broken, or the food isn't directly under it, I don't know but this should be improved upon. We were offered dessert but skipped it. We did separate checks for our party- which the waitress accomodated. Paid via credit card and left a cash tip. May be back again!

The staff are dressed traditionally, which makes the whole place feel charming and authentic. It is honestly adorable. I would love to return when they have live music to enjoy the full experience. We started with the potato pancakes and the sausage platter, and both were excellent. Every sausage on the platter was seasoned so well that I did not even need mustard. I ate each one exactly as it was served, and the flavor was fantastic. The pretzels that came with the platter were also very good. The potato pancakes were phenomenal. I easily could have eaten more, but I wanted to save room for my entrée. For my meal, I ordered the veal schnitzel with spaetzle and potato salad, along with mushroom gravy. The veal was incredibly tender and absolutely delicious. I loved it so much that I want to try making it at home. The spaetzle was fantastic and something completely new for me. The mushroom gravy really brought everything together and made the dish feel complete. The potato salad was just average, but everything else was outstanding.
