This plate the size of my head stacked with food (toast, two fried eggs, baked beans, bacon, hash browns, and mushrooms) was 5 euros; I spent another 2.

At…read morearound 1pm on a Wednesday, this tiny, charming cafe was almost packed, but we managed to snag a cramped table near the pastry case. The restaurant exterior is adorned with a striped awning and pastel-colored outdoor seating, with a quaint chalkboard listing the day's specials. Inside, the space is small but welcoming, with booths and metal chairs. You can either order pastries/coffee up at the front counter, or sit down and order from their menu, which they have in multiple languages! The menu spans your typical breakfast/brunch fare, including shareable platters, pastries, yogurt, eggs, and more. Two members of our party opted for the Mango and Banana Smoothie (€5), while another chose the Mango and Strawberry Smoothie (€5). While these smoothies weren't particularly large, the freshness apparently justified the rather high price - we saw them using real berries, and not powders and concentrates like some places use in the United States. For entrees, two people chose the Smoked Salmon Toast (€11,50), which comes with fresh cold-smoked salmon atop brown bread with white cheese, spinach, and tomato. My friends enjoyed the fresh, crusty bread, as well as the richness of the cheese and the fresh produce! Additionally, another friend opted for the Smoked Salmon Crepe (€12,50), which is salmon atop a thin crepe with smashed avocado, feta cheese, tomato, and a tangy yogurt sauce. She enjoyed the combination of flavors, and it was a large portion that came with a generous salad on the side! I went with the S&T Salad (€11,95), which comes with chicken breast, shrimp, fresh fruit and vegetables, walnuts, and a garlicky mayo dressing (like a tangy aioli). I was surprised at the quality and freshness of the produce in the salad, as well as the generous portion of proteins. Additionally, the walnuts added a nice crunch and richness, and the dressing (which came on the side, as I'd requested) gave the salad a nice zing. Overall, this was a great find in Lagos, with tourists and locals alike enjoying pastries and lunch on a rainy day. The portions are filling, the ingredients are fresh, service is quick and speaks good English, and prices are more than reasonable. I would be more than willing to return to sample some of their other options!

We got there right at 6 and they gave us one of only 2 remaining tables, telling us we had to be done by 7:30pm. We started with prosciutto & melon which was AMAZING!!!!! And reminded us of Italy. My children got the house style spaghetti which was a cream sauce with tomatoes and ham. Neither kid could get enough! The pasta was soooo tasty. My husband and I shared the Mixed Catalana for 2 - prawns and clams. It was the best meal we had during our almost 2 week trip to Portugal. The broth was so delicious I could've drank it with my spoon. It was loaded with veggies too. Came with white rice on the side and some fried potatoes. Also my husband got a glass of house red wine which was a very generous pour! They only take cash, which we did not know ahead of time. But luckily there's an ATM across the street. They turned tons of people away while we were eating. I guess their system is reservation only from 5:30-7:30pm and then after 7:30pm they allow walks in on a first come, first serve basis.
