I love this place for Persian food. If you want to try tahchin, koobideh, or really good Persian kebabs, definitely stop by. It's also right next to Wholesome Choice, so it's perfect if you're already there picking up groceries. Their tahchin was delicious. I personally wish the outside was a little crispier, but the flavor was amazing and the chicken inside was so moist. I actually prefer their chicken kebab over Panini Kabob because I find it much juicier and more flavorful. Whatever they do to get that char on the chicken is so good. Their koobideh was also really moist and flavorful. I still personally prefer Panini Kabob's beef koobideh, but this one was really good too. Customer service was amazing. We sat outside on the patio, and they still came to check on us multiple times and never forgot about us. They even gave us complimentary homemade yogurt drinks. They were a little too tart and sour for me and my kids, but my boyfriend loved them. Even though they weren't personally my taste, I really appreciated the gesture and that they make them in house. Great food, great service, and definitely somewhere I would come back to.

I had the best Kabob Torsh here. The beef was very flavorful and juicy and it was super tender. This dish can be hard to get right. I was truly impressed with the lean beef, the marinate, and the doneness. It came with a good portion of rice and tah dig. The Baghali Polo and lamb shank was also very delicious. We ordered their homemade dough (yogurt drink) and zeytoon parvardeh (marinated olives) which were also super, and I got some extra to take home! My family tried their Beryooni but unfortunately the verdict wasn't as good on that one. I will go back again until I try everything else! The staff were friendly women, which I appreciated. Be mindful that they don't have a restroom though, and they charge 18% tip by default on every dine-in order, even though you have to order at the counter. Because tipping should be optional (while it is best practice and expected in most places), this didn't seem quite right. It made me wonder if it was their response to a less than ideal tipping situation and the cost of running their business, or simply their approach.

This place is truly a hidden GEM I can't believe it was my first time discovering this amazing spot. The food was easily an 11/10, but what really stood out was the incredible Persian hospitality. Every employee was so warm, welcoming, and genuinely caring. A special thank you to Mahsa for taking such great care of us and for the delicious latte Starbucks should be worried! Not only is the food incredible, but their drinks and desserts are just as amazing. I'm already looking forward to coming back.

I ordered chicken kebab to go, but when I got home, it was nothing like a proper Persian chicken kebab. The chicken had almost no flavor and tasted like it had never been marinated. It seemed as if it was only seasoned with salt and pepper, with none of the traditional spices or marinade that make Persian chicken kebab so delicious. I called the restaurant hoping to speak with the manager, but the employee who answered refused to let me speak with them and was very rude. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, I was treated disrespectfully. The food quality was disappointing, and the customer service was even worse. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back, and I cannot recommend this restaurant based on my experience.

The food itself is great. The menu we found a bit overwhelming but once you weed through it it's not so difficult to decide what sounds interesting. We ended up going with the dip sampler: the eggplant dishes were so interesting but I was fascinated by the chicken and potato salad mix. I wasn't expect that at all and it worked so well. And they were pretty plentiful for three separate dishes. We also grabbed the baghali polo & lamb, which ultimately was pretty fine. Good amount of meat but not so memorable. Ultimately, however we found the wait time difficult. Despite them having a very normal amount of customers, we probably waited 50 minutes for either of the dishes to arrive. After it did, we weren't given the dishware/napkin setup that other tables had, which was also a bit of a bummer.

Located next to Wholesome Choice market. This place was busy when we came. Even though only half of the indoor/outdoor seating was taken, the food took a while to come out. They have Persian ice cream and various desserts. The server was attentive and friendly to our kids. Queen Kabob combo- Beef Koobideh and Chicken Kabob was the highlight for me. The chicken was so tender and flavorful. Chicken sandwich (#31)- packed w plenty of chicken. Fries were ok. Would definitely come back again especially since it's near our favorite playgrounds and love the market next door.

So good, 1st time here and want to come back when I am in the area; great cafe ambiance, big windows to let in the sunlight, relaxing acoustic music; authentic food that is delicious! Nice place to eat a meal alone relaxed without feeling pressured. Finished my whole meal without disliking anything. Good balance of meat/seasoning, rice, and salad to refresh the palate. Good portion servings for the price, is pretty reasonable. Fresh whole ingredients and friendly staff. My waitress was so sweet, kept checking in on me. A nice little tucked away corner for a great experience :)

Super salty nasty low quality sandwich

I was greeted with a smile by the gentleman cooking behind the counter and I was able to self seat at the table of my choosing. The person that took my order was very kind and instructed me to grab a beverage from the fridge if I'd like. I ordered a simply chicken and rice plate with a side of their salad. I can't recall the name but it was very tasty, fresh, and delicious. The food came out quickly and tasted amazing, the chicken was cooked to perfection and the rice was flavorful. I enjoy the roasted tomatoes as well as the jalapeno on the side. It brought even more flavor and texture to the meal. Soltani is worth checking out if you are looking for a Mediterranean spot in Santa Ana

Waited 10 minutes and the cook came out and said the owners Muhammad isn't here so only to go orders. I was stumped as there were no signed that said only to go orders here. Unfortunately I had brought my friends with me and we wanted to sit down and enjoy our meal. So finally the cook said yes. I realize what the issue was. He was the only one here and cannot service and cook at the same time. So I helped set up our table and went ahead and grabbed our own drinks and proceeded to order. I had forgotten that at these places they don't give water for free so we had to buy it for $1.49 and juices were higher. We ordered the mini chicken kabob $11.99 which was super delicious. The rice and kabob were cooked to perfection. I also ordered their boiled chicken with cranberry rice $14.99. The cook asked me several times if I truly wanted it and I said sure. Now I know why he asked me several times. It literally was boiled chicken in heavy grease and very salty. Definitely would not get this again. The cranberry rice I'd say was good. Next time if I ever do come I'd get the chicken kabob over the cranberry rice. After an hour the owner Muhammad came and asked if we needed anything. He's a very nice guy and moves slow and you can tell he doesn't want to hire additional workers. Just only the cook. Oh well. Another friend of mine came late and she also ordered the chicken kabob but full portion. The hummus that was ordered wasn't good. There wasn't any tahini sauce at all. It was just mashed up garbanzo beans but at least it tasted fresh. Let's just say overall interesting experience. Would probably only come back if I really craved the cranberry rice. I felt bad for the cook as he was handling all to go orders, and taking calls, and servicing us and cleaning up so that I gave him a tip. Hopefully my next experience at this place will be better.

Kabob is a very common term today for many food lovers. Though not all kabobs are the same as the…read moreword is loosely used to describe skewered meat that is grilled. Generally speaking, there are two types of Kabobs: chunks of skewered meat and minced meat mixed with other things (spices, veg, etc.) shaped into long round-ish meat strips. If you are into the latter type of Kabob - you will NOT find better than the ones they make here. At Hatam, that type of kabob is referred to as Koobideh. They have Kabobs, but they use that term for the meat chunks. But let's talk about the Koobideh for a sec. Juicy, flavorful, freshly grilled to perfection - no sauce needed. Not overly spiced, so you still taste the perfectly charred meat. Sooo good!! Koobideh is the Persian style of the elongated Kabob, and though there are a few other places that serve Koobideh - Hatam is the BEST in all of orange county - hands down. Other really good options are their chicken and beef Barg - so goood!! I could really come here every day! They have a good size menu if you want to be adventurous, but I'm here for the koobideh which is served next to fluffy basmati rice in very generous portions. The location is a charming little hut style restaurant - very clean though when they are busy can feel a little crowded. The staff are nice - they come around and ask if everything is OK and check in often. If you like to try different types of food, give this place a try. You will not be disappointed. Fair warning, it is a bit on the pricier side, but their portions are large. They do have a lunch menu with lower priced lunch portions. The dinner portions can often be shared by two people if you're not a heavy eater. Hatam Koobideh is the best!!!

The food itself still great most everything was perfect. But I gotta see the customer service was not good, I was being rushed every minute the server was coming to the table, asking if I was ready to order, I mentioned to her that I was new to this cuisine and I wanted to try something new, when I ask questions she just told me to read the menu, no once they come to check if everything was OK. We order an appetizer on the menu. It says $13. She said the price was a little bit different but when the bill came, it was $33 for the appetizer and that's insane. But I was having a lunch celebration for my birthday and we didn't wanna kill the vibe so we just paid for it but we're not happy at all. So honestly, even though the food is still great, I probably will never go back there. My first experience was a five star and today it was a two star just because the food still great otherwise would be a zero star. I'm very disappointed.
