This review is for my experience with them during Dragoncon, since this is the only time I eat here each year. Pros: 1. Very convenient to the hotels. East to get in, easy to get out. Good prices on their items. 2. A large selection of items during the day. I mainly hit this place during breakfast to make life easier for me. If you keep it realistic, you won't pay a ton for the food. Get what you need, and go. This is my morning ritual each year for the con. Cons: 1. During peak times it can get crowded but that also means food will be very fresh during that time. Most of the con attendees will stick with their true fast food staples so don't fret too much. One more note, during peak times, you will most likely have zero chance of getting a seat at a table. You can always challenge someone to a duel for a spot, but don't be afraid to make new friends, especially if you're sitting by yourself. You might even find a cutie for yourself. 2. Some items are a little too greasy for my preference. The sushi was average, so you're better off getting from a spot that specializes in sushi. The secret to this place is knowing the best times to go there. Instead of going at the same time as everyone else, which is from 11:30 to 1:30, space out your need to stuff yourself at other times. The early mornings work the best for breakfast, pre-8:00 am, lunch around 2 - 4, and dinner later than 6:30 if possible. If you don't want to sit with strangers then you will park your behind on the floor or on some stairs. Think about it, sit in a chair and make new friends (or perhaps a lover. Mwuahahahahaha!) or sit on the floor, where people walk, with stuff on their shoes (imagination counts here boys and girls), and the potential of someone stepping on you, tripping over you, or ending up with a humongous derriere in your face while the winds of time gently blow your hair (or wig) back for that perfect balance of sewer gas and food entering your nostrils. WAY TOO MUCH MONEY BEWARE! Honestly the food is no where near great the best thing was the green beans, I payed about $14 for a ton of unedible food that I ended up trashing. I'm really stoked about this place! It reminds me of a lot of similar cafes/bistros/whatever people call them up in NYC. You pay by the pound. Honestly, if you know how to work it and choose wisely, it's not too bad. I can understand how some of the lower rated reviews may find this as a downside, but it's a real upside too. You have to choose wisely instead of hoarding whatever you want to eat. Do you really *need* those few extra bites? It's gonna cost you. It forces you to make wise decisions. As far as quality of food, I thought it was superb for the price. I ate breakfast and lunch here for a little over $7. I work in the building right next door, so I'll definitely frequent this place much more more. Fake mall, real buffet. Pro: It's likely the BEST OPTION in the food court. Con: It's likely the best option in the FOOD COURT. Working nearby, I've only eaten off the lunch buffet, which is blazing fast, polite (the people, I mean -- Momo does not feature sentient food items with an impending sense of doom), and only a little overpriced. Like with all pay-by-the-pound food, think out your strategy beforehand. I tend to grab the baked fish, pork loin, and items that are impractical to otherwise get in small quantities like the sushi. Said sushi? Not much selection, but perhaps better quality than RuSan's lunch buffet (and worse than Badayori, RIP). Shoutouts also to the chicken salad (the tiniest bit bland but great texture), asparagus (well-dressed and not overcooked!), and the... actually suprisingly fresh vegetables in general. Was newly in town for work and hungry for lunch when I stumbled into this place. My initial trepidation about eating at a buffet in a mall was severely beaten back by my stomach and the sight of tons of yummy looking food. And it was yummy. As it was a buffet I tried a little bit of a lot of things and enjoyed nearly everything and wished I had taken more of a lot of things. This place is worth a look for lunch. It won't blow your doors off with service or with a fancy vibe, but the food is solid and quick, which a great for lunch. I'd go back if I lived in the area. read more

This is buffet by the pound sort of place which seems like a good idea for a busy work afternoon. Just see what looks good and pick the food up really quick. They do have a good number of items , lots a fresh looking salads. They also have plates of sushi rolls which you can pick pieces from. I got 6 pieces , 2 each of 3 different kinds of rolls. I carried it to my office ( 7 min walk away), and opened it to find that the sushi was smelling strongly fishy and off. I tired eating a small price but the taste was definitely questionable.. A good variety of everything you could ever want for your meal, I have a hard time choosing because there are so many options, but it's good because I can keep coming back without getting tired of the food. Friendly staff, and my go to spot! Surprised by the negative reviews, but I've never found the food here to be greasy, it's just the way that these cultural dishes are cooked so I think it's unfair to ask a restaurant to change the tradition of a recipe to fit their preferences. read more

Definitely one of the better Peachtree Center food court options. The buffet is priced by the pound and I've never spent more than $10 there. I try not to load up on stuff with bones, of course. Their selection is pretty impressive, made up of entrees like meatloaf and pork loin, Chinese take-out staples like General Tso's chicken and beef & broccoli, a plethora of hot sides, a salad bar that includes prepared deli salads, and even sushi. And if you don't want to buffet it up, they do sell sandwiches made to order. I've never perused that section, but I bet it's good, too. Cafe Momo is a good as it gets for a mall food court. Not just because there are just so many choices, but because the vast majority of those choices are pretty darn good (and even the ones that aren't are just boring or bland, as opposed to being horrifyingly bad). I've been going to Dragon Con for years, now, and every year I end up at Momo to eat more than once. A self-serve buffet priced by weight, the cafe offers a wide variety of food and- perhaps most importantly for underslept and immune-impaired con-goers- fresh produce. The staff does a heroic job keeping everything stocked as crowds like swarms of locusts descend on a daily basis, with variety wide enough to meet most dietary requirements, particularly for lunch. Breakfast offered eggs, fish, chicken, sausage and more for protein, plus biscuits and french toast and fruit and the like. Lunch had an even wider variety of proteins, adding quinoa and chickpeas on the salad bar for vegetarians, vegans, or people who wanted lighter meals. You never get a side you don't want for the sake of a meal, you never get -more- than you want to pay for. It's not gourmet, but it's inexpensive and does precisely what it is meant to, and checkout is simple and swift. My only real complaint would be that the place isn't terribly well-ventilated and being near the steam tables at lunch on a hot day is... augh. read more

Thank goodness for this place. I was in town for business working a convention next door. I needed to grab something quick but wanted something healthy. They have a breakfast buffet with healthy options available. As well as a great salad bar for lunch. I loved their kale salad as well as their egg salad. They have great variety in options for all palettes. The only thing is that you are charged by weight, so depending on what you get, it can be pricey. But the food is good. Service is mediocre. I came here one day for lunch with friends from the conference I was attending at the downtown Hilton. We would usually spread out to different places in the food court and meet back by the seating area but on this day we all chose to buy from here. They have a hot and cold buffet which is sold by weight. They have numerous meats and seafood, hot and cold veggies, pasta, rice and other grains, and salads. The food seems fresh and it seems like it gets sold quickly. I don't like knowing a salad bar and/or buffet doesn't sell their product fast because then you never know how old the food is you just purchased. I came here for breakfast one Saturday. The only seating is in the "mall" food court. What kind of breakfast buffet limits you to 5 pieces of bacon and if you want butter for your grits or toast you better ask. They keep it behind the girls at the cash register. So they essentially ration the condiments. I won't do this again. How you can ration bacon and not even serve full slices is beyond me. The grits were AWFUL. No amount of salt or butter could turn that around. And good luck getting enough butter to try. I would rather pay the same amount for less food but better food. I won't be back. read more

I was frantically looking for a good breakfast place.. refused to give in to starbucks or corner bakery, and thought i might go to the peachtree mall to take a look. thank goodness i found this place! it's a haven for cheap, good and fast breakfast!! everything's prepared fresh, and it has a WIDE selection. i had potato w/ vegetables, french toast, scrambled eggs and some hash browns. for a total of how much? $2.50!! and i also got a small cup of grits for just $1.40. it goes by /lb, and i didn't fill up my box. but it definitely filled up my stomach. i love cafe momo! read more

The woman at register three is extremely rude (the only register where a solo person would fit) to the point where her attitude is NASTY. I have tried to ignore her attitude on more than one occassion because I work in the area and I would like to be able to get my breakfast daily without a problem. You cant ask her a question because she always seems irritated, when i asked for her name because at this point her attitude is extremely unacceptable, she works with customers daily so i'm not sure why she is this way. She loudly said "FOR WHAT?!" In front of customers. I am unhappy with her Service at CafeMomo, it definitely makes me not want to return. I have even stopped advising my coworkers to stop there for any food. There is an unpleasant feeling every single time I have dealt with her. Whenever we work at Peachtree Center, my colleagues and I always go to Cafe Momo for the breakfast buffet. They have literally everything you want for breakfast from pancakes to oatmeals. Love this place, well prepared fresh food. I have eaten out a lot this past 10 days as I am attending conferences. Have eaten at some very "nice" places and this restaurant in the mall beat all of them - hands down, to include price. I love a variety of fresh salads and fruits, and this place had just that. I really like this place. Mostly everything I've tried taste good. For breakfast, I usually get turkey sausage, French toast and eggs. They are all great. I've tried other breakfast items and they were all good too. Those are just my go to items. The same goes for lunch. Everything (except for the sushi) is good. The teriyaki chicken is my favorite. I also like the salads. The prices aren't bad. It is about $7 a pound. For breakfast, I usually spend $2 or $3. For lunch between $4 - $7 but mostly around $5. I'm not a fan of buffets but I eat here. read more

They have a good selection of food here and it tastes pretty good. It can be a little pricy for what you get. They charge by weight. However, the sanitary practices here leave much to be desired. On numerous occasions I've noticed customers putting unwanted food back with their bare hands, have found the handles of utensils lying in food, etc. The final straw for me though came when I wintessed some employees returning to refill their already eaten from plates (half eaten chicken bones, leftover noodle juice, etc still on them) from the buffet trays. I pointed this out to two cashiers and they said "It's ok, they work here." I explained to them why this is unclean and one of them said "I'll let them know" but did nothing to stop them. How long has this been going on? If they're this unwise about sanitation in the front of the restaurant, who knows what goes on in the back. Gross. read more

Just got back from Dragoncon and Cafe Momo is as good as it gets for Food Court food. Actually, pretty darn good period. Really fresh food that tastes good and made it possible to eat healthy at the convention. Price was right on target and because they charge by the pound, you only pay for what you put in the container. Pretty much everything I tried was terrific and I love the blackberry cobber (OK, I didn't eat healthy the whole time I was there). Only complaint is I don't have one in Tallahasee. read more

Cheap international eats. I am a fan. I work upstairs, and if you just want a salad, they have a nice selections of fresh fruits and veggies for breakfast and for lunch. They also have a hot side that offers baked fish daily, which is right up my alley. read more
