This is deep within a strip mall so you will not be able to see it from the street. Plenty of parking. They have a sushi station but I would avoid this. They put random vegetables and fruit in the sushi to save on cost. Most of the sushi has some type of pickle in it. Seems like you are eating pickles with rice. You can tell that the sushi is low quality ingredients and hastily made. I put it below grocery store sushi. They have a Hibachi station to cook all your food to order. This is a very casual buffet spot in an industrial part of town. I wouldn't say it's a "bad" neighborhood; it's just a very highly populated area. It seems like the people who are there are regulars and it's the place to go for dinner for those living in the area. The two times I've been there it's been the exact same. Someone yawning and bored "greets" us, and nonchalantly leads us to a table. We are on our own at that point. We get food, someone takes plates as they are empty, you might get more water, and when finished-- you wait for a bill, nothing comes. You literally feel invisible. You can't make eye contact with anyone working. You wander to the front, and now you have three "servers" tailing you and you are stopped at the front by someone who is a manager demanding you pay. It literally has happened each time I have been here. So there may be a bit of a theft problem? It would be easier to just pay in the beginning IMO since there is nothing to "add" to the bill, but I get people wanting their tips as well. There is a communication gap between being done eating and paying that I'm not sure about. But really, it's about the food and the convenience, and I have to say, for 20 dollars it's not that bad, and they have a few things I like. It's not good if it's not hot though-- I did "to-go" before and warmed up later and everything tasted like grease and oil and sort of fell apart. They also have a large area of fried foods which I think keeps all the kids happy and make it an easy place for parents with picky eaters-- fries, pizza, ice-cream, noodles, etc. There is a sushi area and a hibachi area that seem popular-- the sushi area is a little boring, but there is always a line for the hibachi. The crab, shrimp, mussels-- everything served hot and cooked and served in it's shell had an extremely strong ammonia smell and taste. It was not edible. The salad bar area had more dressings that options for a salad. There was iceberg lettuce cut in wedges (but they don't have knives so not sure how you are supposed to eat this), and tomato SLICES (like you would put on a hamburger). Some of the early stuff they had when they opened in 2019- like cottage cheese, eggs, grape tomatoes, red onion, bacon-- are no longer available. There really isn't any salad bar area, just lettuce and a bunch of dressings. Also, would love to have them up their dessert game. There were just a few cookies and cups of ice cream in a freezer. If they could get some soft serve that would really be an improvement. read more

Due to not being very hungry, I only had fruit and rice, which was good and fresh. Looking at what the others brought back to the table looked very good. One of the best Chinese buffets in Atlanta. They have hibachi that they make in front of you that a lot of people go for. I go for the seafood. They offer snow crab and fried Dungeness crab. They also have crawfish clams and mussels. They don't have oysters here like some buffets have but I like their food quality and how they always replenish food quickly so you're not waiting around for the seafood. For a Buffett spot, I am not mad at this one. They have little soft shell crabs at night that I love. And the hibachi is fire honestly. I wish they had a big better selection of fish and steak but I mean what else can you ask at 18 dollars a person. But def a cheap, cool spot to eat. read more

They offer a large variety of food from crawfish to sesame chicken and even include a full hibachi bar with raw meats and vegetable that are prepared fresh after you select your items and put them on a plate to hand to the cook. The seafood on the hot bars is predominantly over cooked but you get what you pay for. The weekend rates cost about $2 more than the weekday rates at around $16 pp after tax (ie April 23, 2023). As for service, the waiters come and change out the plate after you complete every meal. The ambiance is what you would expect form a buffet, very family oriented. I recommend wearing comfortable clothing and sneakers. The floor can be dirty in the food area. Pass on the cheesecake. The crab legs are over cooked. I came here for lunch break as this isn't too far where I work at. I came here around 1:30pm and it still had the lunch crowd. I always learned to come to a buffet when it's busy because that's why you know there will be fresh food and not food sitting around. The parking lot is spacious and you get to pick and choose where you park at. Of course I chose somewhere far so I can walk off the food I am about to eat. As far as the Coviad and etc. There is a sign stating that you need to wear a mask while entering. The front staff did not take my temperature and sat us immediately. As far as the social distance, the tables are basically spaced the same as prior Coviad. So basically use caution as you will be sitting right next to somebody. It appears that they give you gloves when you go up to get your own food. Most people were wearing masks while getting their food but not everybody. This place is your typical Chinese buffet which includes all your hot foods, cold foods, sushi bar, and raw hibachi bar where they cook your food fresh. I went to the hibachi bar first as I piled on some steak, mushroom, onions, and imitation crab meats. I told the hibachi cook that I wanted the garlic sauce. The hibachi was excellent. As it tasted fresh and I loved the garlic sauce to it. The sushi wasn't half bad and I had a few pieces. The green beans was very good as well. Surprisingly, I really enjoyed the clams and salt & pepper chicken. The waitress was excellent as she was very fast to refill your drinks and clean off the table. The hot & sour soup was very flavorful and good as well. I had some of the dessert and the pineapple was very fresh. I had the chocolate ice cream as it was soft serve. At the lunch price of $8.99, you really can't beat it. It's a steal! Like I said, it's a lower level Chinese buffet but very good for what it is. Hibachi Buffet is better than the average Asian style buffet. I say Asian "style" because we all know these are Americanized versions of these dishes, and we really don't care or we would not be eating in a place like this. What they offer is portion size (all you can eat), and speedy service. It's all cooked on the bar so you can literally be eating lunch just a minute or two after you walk in the door. So when you need something quick so you can get back to work this can be faster than a drive through. As buffets go Hibachi has a lot to offer. The have the Hibachi grill or Mongolian bbq where you can select your own proteins and vegetables and get a custom made stir fry with just what you want on it freshly made and hot off the grill. They also have a sushi line. It's nothing fancy, a lot of imitation crab and avocado wrapped up in rice. They also offer the traditional sauced chicken dishes, some Italian choices (fettuccini and pizza). Its been so long since I've been to a self serve all you can eat. When I finally saw that they re-opened, my heart jumped for joy and my stomach readied itself. The staff was friendly and attentive enough, offering refills and clearing plates. They require masks to enter and require you to use gloves to self serve. The entire buffet wasnt open (no sushi) but they did have the hibachi going, ice cream, tons of hot options. For $7.99 for lunch you simply cannot go wrong. The food was frequently refilled and had all the staples you look for in the Chinese buffet. They have a market, and each place caters to that market. Basic and Americanized with hints of Latin influence sprinkled in. The food is hot and in abundance. Quality and Authenticity are not what you need to come here expecting...if you demand that out of your food, take it to other glorious places up and down BuHi. While we were there: The trays were replenished frequently, and nothing was left empty on any of the areas. The hibachi section had decent cuts of meat and all of the veggies looked taken care of-nothing brown/pink or slimy. Selections-Looked no different than they have for decades. Salad bar, Sushi bar, Hibachi station, Dessert Bar and 3-Hot bars that had everything from chicken wings to baked fish filets. Sweet and Sour chicken to Spareribs. Broccoli/mushrooms to Hot and Sour soup...Peel and eat Shrimp to Lo Mein...I could go on. Servers-Polite and kept the plates cleared off and refilled our water every time they dipped below half a cup. The hostess and the lady at the register both said hello/goodbye as we came and went. Food consistency-What you would expect. Some pieces were a little overcooked and tough, some pieces were perfectly crispy, and others were a little soggy. It comes with mass quantities of food being prepared and then left to sit out on trays and on ice, for consumption....it is what it is! Everything looked clean and in order. Given the amount of foot traffic this place sees on a regular, I could understand if it was a little untidy...but it wasn't. Upon arriving, I looked to see the buffet around 11:44 a.m. The food was stocked and fresh and clean. I tried the sushi and it was tasty. The soy sauce was extremely salty. When it comes to restaurants like these, I believe it's important to set appropriate dining expectations. Don't expect avant garde fare or experimental cuisine. At its best, Chinese buffets are about fast, dependable, and (hopefully inexpensive) food. At its worst, one ignores quality for the quantity consumed. Here at Hibachi Buffet, I'm afraid I had to remind myself of that quite a few times. For its high points, the food is fresh. Servers swap out the trays of food from the buffet with fair regularity, especially because when we went, the restaurant was hopping with diners on a weekend evening. What was fried was still hot and crispy by the time I reached in with my tongs, and the seafood dishes were comfortingly unfishy in taste and in aroma. A few trips to the buffet bar immediately revealed strong and low points. Americanized dishes and common Chinese takeout entrees are well done and tasty. For instance, I couldn't stop myself from getting refills of the lo mein, fried rice, and the fried shrimp. Where things fell apart a bit were the more 'out there' items. The sushi area had chefs making the rolls fresh, bu upon closer inspection, there were rolls with nothing else besides imitation crab meat and cucumber, along with a thick layer of rice. I wasn't sure anyone would deign to call this sushi, and I felt it unfair to label it as such. The fresh-to-order hibachi area is a neat idea, where one can pick and choose their carb, protein, and vegetables and have it prepared fresh on a grill. According to the signs, we were supposed to have been given a choice for our sauce; in actuality, the chefs (albeit hardworking) used the same sauce for everything - a few dark-colored sauces and LOADS of melted butter. When done, the hot plate was actually tossed onto the counter, sometimes splashing bits of food over the area. As a result, the counter was covered with a thick sheen of oil and grease, and without a system to keep track of which order is who's, I needed to keep watch the whole time lest someone else accidentally collect my plate (which happened once). All that said, I would've considered all of this par for the course for a buffet on a busy night. What I found unforgivable was the number of times I caught someone taking food out of the buffet with their hands. Most of the time, they were unsupervised children, which is probably more the parents' faults than the restaurant's. Still, by the fifth time it happened (the last time, I saw a child actually RETURNING a square of Jello with his bare hands), I found myself questioning the cleanliness of all the food. So if you're game for taking chances, this is a solid deal for the amount of food you're getting, especially at these prices. But if cleanliness and food hygiene matter a ton to you, consider yourself warned. read more
