Michelin Star Little Sparrow is one of those restaurants I look forward to whenever I'm back in…read moreAtlanta. It captures that wonderful Parisian brasserie feeling without trying too hard--the banquettes, heavy drapes, soft lighting, beautiful tableware and attentive service. Everything feels considered. And then there's the food. The menu is small, the prices are not, but they execute what they do exceptionally well. I was tucked into a beautiful banquette and taken care of by Keenan, who was lovely throughout dinner--warm, polished, knowledgeable and attentive without hovering. First things first: do not skip the bread service. The warm levain baguette arrives wrapped in Little Sparrow-branded paper with their gorgeous butter, EVOO and Maldon salt. It sounds simple. It isn't. That butter sitting in fragrant olive oil with those little pops of sea salt, smeared onto hot, crusty bread? Heaven. Sometimes the simplest things tell you everything you need to know about a kitchen. My usual order here is the chicken schnitzel, which I love, but I promised myself I would branch out. I ordered the Cabillaud Frites--cod with tartar sauce--and Little Sparrow's interpretation of fish and chips is anything but ordinary. The cod arrived as beautifully fried little rounds with a deeply golden, crisp exterior and tender, delicate fish inside. Hot, crunchy, moist, perfectly cooked. The house tartar sauce was delicious. And because apparently I needed more decadence, Keenan brought me garlic aioli for the frites. Yes, please. And those frites. Lordy. Crisp, deeply savory and dangerously easy to keep eating long after you've told yourself you're finished. Dip one into that garlic aioli and good luck stopping. I skipped cocktails this time because I was saving precious real estate for dessert. I usually order the chocolate soufflé, although I continue to wish they would rotate the soufflé flavors. Give me Grand Marnier! And at $22, that soufflé is definitely an investment in dessert theater. Instead, I took the coconut cake back to my hotel. Unfortunately, this was the one miss of the evening. It was overwhelmingly sweet and lacked the richness and complexity I expected from a kitchen operating at this level. It tasted surprisingly ordinary compared with everything that preceded it. I'd skip it next time and return to the soufflé. That small disappointment doesn't change how I feel about Little Sparrow. The dining room is beautiful. The service feels polished and gracious. Even the restrooms and little sitting area carry through the aesthetic. There is an attention to detail here that I appreciate--from the china and menus to the lighting and presentation. Little Sparrow isn't inexpensive, but I don't come here looking for inexpensive. I come because they take seemingly familiar French dishes, focus on technique and ingredients, and make them memorable. If you're anywhere near Atlanta's Westside or the Design District--or frankly, even if you're not--make the detour. Make a reservation, settle into a banquette, order the bread, and get some of that food in your face. Life is too short not to eat well. Get out there and find your next meal.

We loved their oyster, they were super fresh. Our server was very attentive the entire time. We thought their espresso martini was missing something. For main entrees we went with the Duck Breast and Beef Bourgignon. The duck was the stand out. We're not used to Beef Bourgignon be paired with pasta but it was an interesting spin. I would reorder the duck breast for sure! For dessert, we ordered the flourless chocolate cake and it was delicious! Overall a good experience, we're glad to have come. PS: Valet parking is only $2!

We arrived about 6 mins before our reservation and valet parked for $3! I know right! We enetered the restaurant and was greeted and seated immediately! Richard was our waiter. He took our orders including beverages. I wanted a Blue Moon but they didn't have any, so I went with a Scofflaw POG, never had it but, it was good. Hubby ordered a Coke, of course. We scanned the menu and all I wanted were mussels. I had the MUSSELS "LE COZE"-white wine, shallots, garlic, cream. Grande $29. The sauce was soooo awesome. The flavors were to perfection! Hubby had the LE GRAND BURGER "AMÉRICAIN"* lettuce, tomato, pickled red onion, BBC bun 8 oz. $22 with fries. He left nothing on his plate. He said the burger was seasoned to perfection. We really enjoyed our time at the restaurant. It was lit nicely, but the atmosphere was amazing. There were multiple conversations throughout the restaurant, but still felt intimate. Bistro Niko owes me nothing but a BLUE MOON! Thanks and be back soon. SYOY!

The staff were friendly and familiar with the dishes and kitchen. The vibe was darker than most restaurants, perhaps good for dating but I would prefer a brighter dining room since I want to take photos of the dishes! I have been there twice and tried the following dishes: 1. Carrilleras. Braised beef cheek with seasonally changing vegetables. My "version" was served with parsnip puree. The cheek was very tender and meaty, the sauce was thick and flavorful, and the puree was rich and creamy. One of the best tapas I have ever tried. 2. Crudo. The version I had was erved with thinly sliced pickled butternut squash, herbs and orange infused oil. The flavor was savory, and slightly sweet and sour. The seared tuna was tender. Creative and tasty. 3. Smoked carrots. The version I had was served with orange yogurt and topped with pepper relish. It had both red and purple carrots, which provided different flavors. I also liked the idea of pairing creamy yogurt with the sweet & crunchy carrots. 4. Grilled oysters. Served with diced piquillo & onions over grilled Pan Cristal pieces. Savory and slightly sweet & sour. 5. Cordero. Grilled lamb chops served with harrissa, eggplant escabeche and smoked tomato puree. They grilled the chops, sliced the meat from the bone, then grilled the bone again, so that the sliced meat was quite tender, while the meat on the bone was quite crispy. The smoked tomato puree was smoky and paired well with the chops. The eggplant added some freshness to the dish. Plus, I really like the plating of this dish. 6. Grilled Branzino. This dish was priced by weight. About 1lb so shareable for two. The fish was butterflied and grilled until the skin (and even bones) were quite crispy. The sauce was refreshing and delicious as well. 7. Arroz Cremoso. Similar to risotto. At first it was too salty for me; my server asked the kitchen to remake it and the second one was good. The version I had contained three kinds of mushrooms, plus some broccolini, which made every bite surprising and exciting. Overall highly recommended. I will definitely return to try more dishes!

I'd happily return for lunch with family, a girls' gathering, business lunch, or a date. * Service: Truly top notch, especially if you're lucky enough to have Gordon as your server. He had the perfect balance of attentiveness, charm, and dry wit. The kind of service that elevates an already great meal. * Crab salad: I'm usually not much of a crab person, but this was excellent. Light, fresh, and with just a hint of sweetness from the passion fruit dressing. * Tuna tartare: Excellent. I was worried the sesame might be overpowering, but it was actually just a subtle hint that gave it a lovely Asian-inspired flavor profile. Delicious on the wonton. The knife work was a little clunky, but the taste more than made up for it. * Branzino: Light, perfectly cooked, and paired with a bright fennel salad. Simple and beautifully executed. * Le Croque Monsieur: A must if you're hungrier! Essentially a croque madame with a sunny-side-up egg on top... just wow. And the fries are perfection. * Chocolate mousse: Light and a lovely way to finish the meal. Almost like a little palate cleanser after lunch. * Wine: Great wine list. Naturally, we went with Sancerre because that's my go-to. And then Gordon took the experience to another level... My mom had brought a card for my husband and me that said "Happy Anniversary." We never mentioned it to anyone and kept it tucked away, but Gordon happened to notice it. When dessert arrived, he had chocolate syrup written to say "Happy Anniversary," complete with candle sparklers. We were completely caught off guard. That level of observation and thoughtfulness is what memorable hospitality looks like. I'll also acknowledge that I had some hesitation coming back. I had a reservation here a few years ago and was turned away because I was wearing jeans, which honestly left a pretty bad taste in my mouth. Le Bilboquet is undeniably high-end and clearly makes an effort to curate its atmosphere and clientele, which I can respect, even if that particular experience was disappointing. After giving it another shot, I'm really glad I did. This lunch was lovely from start to finish. I also noticed several guests wearing jeans this time around, so perhaps the dress code has relaxed a bit. Bottom line: Refined, polished, excellent food and genuinely exceptional hospitality. If you've written Le Bilboquet off based on an old experience or some of the negative press over the years, I'd say it's worth giving another shot. I'm glad I did!

Warm Lentil Salad: Perfectly cooked french lentils topped with a poached egg and crisp frisée. Cut open that egg, mix it with the mustardy dressing, and every bite is rich, earthy perfection. Pan-Seared Salmon: Crispy, golden sear on the outside, flawlessly tender and flaky on the inside.
