    Steak frites

Service was great! The ambiance could be better... it was really loud. The food was ok it was just too bland for me, it wasn't as I remembered! Though Everything was fresh, the food wasn't seasoned properly even when I ordered the steak frites the steak wasn't seasoned at all. I got a Steak that was too fatty but also dry. I have asked for a medium I received a medium well almost well done... the quiche was okay it was too fluffy but has a good flavor!

Went for breakfast on Sunday morning, right when they open at 8 o'clock. Had to wait a few minutes for a whole party to be there before they seated us. Our server was very friendly, funny and attentive. Coffee and water were refilled frequently. We had steak and eggs, chorizo scramble, and Croque Madame. I've never had salad for breakfast, but it was refreshing. All were delicious. Outside seating was very pleasant in the inside was decorated nicely. I would definitely come here again!

I had to laugh when I got my "traditional eggs benedict" first of all, it was disgusting and inedible. How could a place ruin such a classic breakfast??? It has some kind of paprika sauce that is a brown orange and not well made. Eggs Benedict is my favorite thing to eat for breakfast and I will never forget how this was hands down the worst version of something I eat weekly. Wow. Here's a pic of the sauce to go...looks like chili

Eggs Benedict with a side salad

I've always wanted to try Cafe Mimosa and today was the day! Went for a beach trail walk down the street and we worked up an appetite. We were able to find a table out on the patio to enjoy the beautiful day as well as satisfy our appetites. They serve breakfast/brunch here and I wanted to try their traditional Eggs Benedict. Their sauce is different from the traditional hollandaise sauce since I believe they add paprika to the sauce. I ordered it with a side salad versus potatoes and it hit the spot. My only complaint is that one of my poached eggs was a little overcooked as it was not runny but it was still tasty. Service was amazing as well! A very nice cafe to try if you are in the area.

Okay first this cafe is so cute and cozy !! The ambiance is very small shack on the corner in a small down but you're in San Clemente. Servers were so nice and down to earth. I had the eggs Benedict, the hollandaise is non traditional sauce, instead it is a smoked paprika hollandaise. To be extremely honest, I was not a fan. To me it tasted like red guajillo chilli and paprika seasoning. A little overwhelming to the pallet. The taste doesn't fit well with the dish. That's my preference but just be warned if you are interested in this plate. My daughter had the French toast which looks really delicious, and my husband, an omelette. Cute spot ! Solid food but just be aware of the egg Benedict.

    "Traditional " Eggs Benedict

My daughter and I wanted to try this cute little place she saw online. I ordered the 'traditional ' eggs Benedict and she ordered the chorizo breakfast. I love traditional eggs Benedict BUT be warned, their Benedict is not what you think. It was flavorful however, the hollandaise sauce was not traditional, which I did not care for. The mini brioche bun was too small for the beautifully poached egg and delicious ham. My daughter's chorizo plate was fabulous! We both enjoyed that one more than the Benedict. The next time we'll try the French toast. Oh, the breakfast Potatoes were also delicious!!!!

    Pork Belly Scramble $27.99 8/10.

Overall, great experience. Lovely and cozy atmosphere. Staff were friendly and attentive. I ordered the Pork Belly Scramble. The Pork Belly was the star of the dish. Eggs, bacon, and ham were good. A green salsa would have taken this dish to the next level for me, personally.

Cold atmosphere and service from the staff here, but the food is pretty good. I had the steak frites and the steak was a little chewy but the flavor was great and the thin crispy fries were delicious. It would've been a good experience overall but I felt the staff was rushing us at every point of the meal, especially at the end when they took away plates without checking with us if we were finished. I understand they close at 3, but this was at 2:15.

Cafe Mimosa is a cozy spot down at the end of Del Mar Ave in San Clemente. They offer a small indoor section as well as a covered patio. They have a delicious brunch and great lunch items as well. The staff are all very friendly! I went the other day during the week around 1pm and there was only 1 other customer there. However, I know on weekends it gets really busy. There's also tons of parking on the street, as well as across the street at the library. There's no reason to not go and give em a try!

Very nice place to have a breakfast and enjoy the beautiful day in San Clemente. Delightful place that you cannot make a reservation... so be patient and remember the weekends can be away for an outdoor table but worth the wait. Enjoy!

There is ample shade, great beach views with the waves running under the pier where you are sitting. There are plastic/glass dividers between tables to give you some privacy. Anywhere you sit gives you a great view. The walkway is rather tight the closer you sit by the water. The menu is so casual yet the clam chowder, grilled shrimp, and fish and chips were by far the best tasting seafood I've had in a while. Everything was so fresh. The fish and chips - the fish was fluffy and flaked apart. The batter on it was light tasting and crunchy. The shrimp cocktail we got was gross. The shrimp had this bland taste to it. I think the batch of shrimp wasn't great with how it was blanched. We added horseradish to the cocktail sauce to add more seasoning to it. The oysters were also gross. There were so many little chips of the shell in the oysters. It just wasn't very good and I was worried if it was fresh enough. Cocktails felt premixed. Wide selection of wine and beer. Other than that, it's so worth coming here for the hot seafood and views. Service was decent. Restrooms are across the way by the bar area. We parked near the beach parking lot and had to walk to the restaurant. There are steep hills so have some good shoes for this!
