I tried the banana matcha and signature bome latte. The matcha is very high quality and very green. The banana cream top was the perfect amount. They didn't skimp out on the cream. As for the signature bome latte, it's a well balanced coffee with a raspberry thick cream on top. They give a small spoon to eat the cream on its own then mix it in. I really enjoyed the signature drink since it was high quality coffee with a delicious cream.

Bome Coffee was recommended to me as having really good matcha, so my friend and I decided to stop by! We tried the banana pudding matcha, and honestly, we both thought it was just okay. The matcha had a nice nutty and sweet flavor, and the drink itself looked gorgeous, but I was hoping for a stronger matcha taste. It leaned more toward being a sweet flavored drink with matcha rather than really satisfying that matcha craving, if that makes sense. The cafe itself is really cute and quaint, and they have a lot of interesting drinks and pastries that I would definitely be curious to come back and try. That being said, it's pretty small with limited seating, and the tables and chairs aren't particularly comfortable, so I wouldn't necessarily come here expecting to sit down and work or study for a few hours. Overall, I thought it was a cute little cafe with a fun menu, but the matcha didn't completely wow either of us. I'd still be interested in coming back to try some of their other drinks and pastries though because there were definitely a lot of things on the menu that caught my eye!

Dear Maru Espresso Bar Team, I'm writing because I had a very disappointing experience at Maru on 9/23/26 especially as someone who has been a loyal customer and goes out of my way to purchase your coffee despite not even being a coffee drinker. Maru's Cream Top is actually the only coffee I drink. Because I start work very early--before Maru opens--I have developed a routine of coming in the day before, purchasing two Cream Tops, having them made without ice and with heavy cream, taking them home, refrigerating them overnight, and bringing them with me to work the following morning. It is extremely inconvenient for me to have to make a special trip before 5 p.m., carry two drinks home, and plan around your hours, but I do it because I genuinely love the coffee. Over the past few days, however, I have had several frustrating interactions with the staff regarding this very simple request. Two days ago, I went in after work and was told by the young woman taking my order that the Cream Top could not be made without ice. Yesterday, I was unable to come in because I got off work too late. Today, I stopped by during lunchtime and ordered my coffee with ice because I was drinking it immediately, and I also purchased a pastry. Later, after work, I returned specifically to purchase two Cream Tops to take home for the next morning. I again asked for them without ice. I was told no. I even asked in Korean after seeing Korean-speaking staff, trying to explain exactly why I needed them without ice. Despite explaining the situation, I continued to receive pushback rather than any effort to accommodate a longtime customer. Because I had to transport the drinks home, I also asked for a coffee carrier that would securely hold the drinks. The employee gave me a different type of tray. I specifically asked if he could give me the carrier that more securely holds the cups because, as I explained to all three employees, I had to take the drinks home and was concerned about them spilling. I was told that you had run out and that this was the only carrier available. Unfortunately, the result was exactly what I had been trying to prevent. There was an excessive amount of ice, and somehow the drinks melted and spilled all over the bag I was carrying them in. I have never had a coffee spill all over my bag like this before. What was most upsetting was not simply that the drinks spilled. It was the overall attitude and lack of willingness to help. I understand that businesses have policies and that there may be operational reasons for certain things, but the way a reasonable customer request is communicated matters. I was not asking for anything complicated or unreasonable. I was simply trying to purchase the same coffee I regularly buy in a way that allows me to safely take it home and drink it the next morning. I really love Maru's coffee, which is why I continue to make the effort to come back despite the inconvenience. I hope you will take this feedback seriously and speak with the team about customer service, communication, and finding reasonable solutions for customers rather than simply pushing back on requests. I would appreciate hearing from someone regarding this experience, particularly because I would like to continue being a Maru customer but do not want to have another experience like this.

It's definitely a little different and catered more toward American coffee shop culture, but it was still a great experience. You order at the counter and pick up your coffee, pastries, or food at another counter. You're also expected to clean up after yourself. There's mostly downstairs seating, with a few tables upstairs. If I were in the area, I'd definitely come back, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way for it. Enjoy! P.S. I didn't see a lot of parking options, but I got lucky and found a metered spot nearby.

My first time coming was a Hajii's Milk, (I'm sure I'm butchering that), it came with peanut butter in the espresso which gave it a nice profile of flavor. I also had their breakfast burrito with Chorizo and kimchi. It was packed well and full with a red sauce spice inside. I will sadly say my burrito order was missed until I mentioned I had been waiting on it, but it was made up with a cheesecake for my troubles. I've been in food service so I understand small stuff happens. The space of this area though is 3 different sections. The bazaar style outside, an upstairs area, and the main service area. Overheard that this place had a little house music party and it went pretty well. Definitely worth a visit for those interested in something more from coffee.

There's a beautiful outdoor patio with café tables, fire pits, lounge seating, and plenty of room for groups. Inside, there's a steady buzz of first dates, remote workers, and friends catching up. The pastry case is packed with fresh-baked pastries and breads, and they even serve fresh stone oven baked pizzas. My friend was OBSESSED with their smores cookie. It truly was one of a kind and absolutely amazing! Highly recommend getting. Their menu covers breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with plenty of options for a variety of dietary preferences. The drink menu is straightforward and lets the coffee and tea shine. I ordered the BLT on focaccia with the house salad, and the portion was Texas-sized. I even had leftovers to take home. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. While prices are on the higher end, the quality ingredients, generous portions, welcoming atmosphere, and thoughtful touches make it worth it. Bonus points for the self-serve water station with both still and sparkling water. Easily one of my top three favorite cafés in Los Angeles.

The indoor space is small but there is additional outdoor seating in the courtyard behind the cafe. I liked the many chairs scattered around the cafe (although almost all had hard surfaces and no back support). There wasn't anyone studying or posted up on their laptop on the saturday afternoon that we visited, although there were a few outlets near the tables inside. The menu is small but well-curated and has a good selection of tea drinks, which I prefer over coffee. I appreciated the extensive alternative milk and different sweetener options. The drinks were lightly sweetened (they got it just right, in my opinion!) and had just the right amount of tea and milk (if you've ever experienced an overly bitter matcha latte, you know what I mean!). The matcha tiramisu surprisingly didn't have any coffee flavor and just tasted like a matcha latte with an extra creamy cold foam and biscoff cookie on top. The hojicha latte had a subtle, nutty flavor. The basque cheesecake had a great texture that was rich and creamy but not overly heavy and not too sweet. Would stop by again if I were in the area!
