Restaurant

I had the wonderful opportunity to dine here with Kenny. His service was nothing short of extraordinary! From the moment you walk in the door to the time you walk out, you are met with outstanding customer service. The mood of the restaurant sets a soothing tone for a relaxing meal to either eat alone or with a group. The food is made with a passion you can taste, even in the simpler dishes. If you're looking for great Italian food, I couldn't recommend this place enough, 10/10.

Went here upon recommendations from locals. First they have 2 locations so just be forewarned. We had DELICIOUS pasta! I had the tortellini michelangelo and hubby had the lasagna. Both were wonderful and made this Sicilian girl happy. We thought the tortellini was the star. We also had some amazing creme rules and tiramisu. Bread was yummy.

We went for a belated Valentines Dinner Date. Such a cute family restaurant, all the food is homemade. We started with a simple house salad with tomato sauce dressing which I've never had before and a loaf of freshly baked bread. Then I got the eggplant parmesan and we also orders veal piccata. Both dishes were delicious. We got a side of spaghetti with marinara sauce on the side. The service was exceptional. We didn't get to try the tiramisu but we will have to go again to try it! Also it's a BYOB restaurant which we didn't know until we arrived. But good to know for next time!

Rigatoni alla vodka

Absolutely delicious. Amazing service. Cannot recommend more!! The chicken piccata is also very very delicious made with a lemon butter sauce!!

Family style restaurant and we're regular here for more than 10 years. Delicious Italian dishes and excellent services. House salad dressing is wonderful. Chicken and Shrimp Sunrise with pink creamy sauce is the best.

This place feels like stepping into nonna's house. The server was really friendly and attentive, and suggested great dishes. The lobster ravioli was outstanding! And don't skip the Tiramisu.

It's hit or miss, Gordan Ramsey should pay a visit and give it a face lift, food and decor is a bit ancient.

Very salty fare, bread not memorable, not eaten, excellent tiramisu. Salad, so so. Be sure to ask for parmesan, red peppers if take-out.

No kids menu and no pizza. They do "half" portions for half price, but charge a split fee of $3 so not quite family friendly.

It was 2 days…read morebefore Christmas, so Grapevine was super packed, but the restaurant staff did a fantastic job of keeping a good seating rhythm so that the kitchen and servers didn't get too overwhelmed. We showed up about 30 minutes ahead of our reservation, so we had a drink at the bar (I ordered the martini - it was great). They seated us less than 10 minutes after we arrived. We ordered arancini and the house salad and split both and then for our meals, I ordered the barolo shrimp pasta and my husband got the cacio e pepe. Both dishes were fantastic. My pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was velvety and full of flavor. The shrimp was also cooked perfectly. The arancini were also delicious. Only minor suggestion would be to include a little more marinara or some type of sauce to dip the arancini in but it was still really good. Our server was very good and the restaurant itself has a cozy vibe without your table being on top of the one next to you. Side note: the bar is huge and probably seats about 20 people. It seemed like a good percentage of the people at the bar maybe live in the neighborhood which is cool. We'll definitely be back!

My chocolate ice cream was absolutely divine. Rich, creamy, and dangerously good to the point where I immediately wanted another scoop. The market area is also incredibly charming, filled with Italian groceries, wine, and all sorts of kitchen treasures and little knick knacks that make you want to slowly browse every shelf. It feels cozy, welcoming, and just a little tucked away from the world outside. Fast service, great food, and the perfect spot to pause for a moment while the storm rolled through. If you do not know what cacio e pepe is, it is a dish with a few ingredients (pasta, cheese, black pepper, cream sauce). You can add protein to it, but it is pretty basic comfort food. Although it looks simple to prepare, I have eaten it in several DFW restaurants where it is atrocious. There is a fine line between delicious and paste with these ingredients, and it needs balance. The service was great. The food came quickly but I was not rushed to eat. The salad was fine - basic, fresh, and the balsamic dressing was not runny. When the cacio e pepe came out, it looked and smelled phenomenal. There was bread included, but I ignored it (which is not the norm for me). After the first bite, I was sold. This dish was freaking fantastic. The chef stopped and brought me fresh herbs from the plants out front (which were delicious). The dish was amazing on its own, and the herbs elevated it to another level of fantastic. It would have been inappropriate to lick the plate, but I did consider it (because the food was perfect). The food was phenomenal, the service was solid, and I will return repeatedly for this one dish. I am sure the other options are great, but this dish was a piece of heaven on a plate.

The business grew and he opened a handful of other locations around the country. Ambiance: The restaurant is casual, but had a lot of intentional use of the space. There were wine racks, and even a private room where they have pizza making classes ($195 per person ). Service: Our server was Michelle. She was so kind as we danced around the idea of sitting on the patio vs indoors. The patio only had about 2 seats and it was windy that day. We decided to sit inside. Michelle was very friendly, and came by often to check in on us. Food: The pizzas are made in-house and very thin, just like the ones I've had in Italy. They have traditional pizzas and their famous "star" shaped pizzas. We decided to order the star Carlos pizza. The pizza blended Spanish/Mexican and Italian cuisines together by mixing Spanish chorizo, avocado, jalapeño, with ricotta, fresh tomatoes, and Italian Parmesan cheese. The pizza was really delicious!

I'd like to start this review off by saying we almost didn't come because of the crappy reviews I…read moreread here on Yelp. Music too loud, crowded, pizza is too thin....... Listen, those people have never been to Europe (small restaurants with close seating and loud music!), have probably never had real Italian food and don't appreciate the Italian culture. I'm married to a man who is 100% Italian (first generation to be born in America). This place is ITALIAN!!!!! Don't come here if that's not your vibe. Don't give bad reviews due to your lack of understanding- they are AS ADVERTISED. I also read it's not a good place for kids- yes if you think they are going to go run around. But we had two of ours with us and they also loved it! Not a good place for big groups. Alrighty, I feel better now that I've shared that! Let's talk food! Porterhouse Steak, isn't on the menu, a MUST HAVE!!!!!! It's $135 and worth every penny. Could feed 2-3 adults. Probably the best steak I've ever eaten. Ordered medium rare and that's echos it came. Absolute perfection! *This was the only really pricey item on the menu- everything else was decently priced. Margarita Pizza- perfect! Great flavor! Thin crust and delicious! It's the size of a medium pizza. Ravioli- nice portion size and great flavor! Service was great and we LOVED the loud Italian music and celebrations for a birthday and the fire cheese dish. Before calling him or her out it occurred to me as I don't get out much I better make sure, so I Googled octopus carpaccio. Au contraire. Mea culpa. It's a thing! A thing I knew I had to try as soon as I could find it. I Yelped Italian restaurants in FTW and found two that serve it. Only one of the two at lunch, which is when we eat, Stella in Southlake. So we went today. Stella is a very attractive, very welcoming trattoria. Very cool open kitchen bar along one side. Prompt, attentive service and lovely cloth napkins at lunch. As for the octopus carpaccio? Wowzer! Buonissimo! Stella's rendering of the dish is beautiful and delicious. It is topped with savory, mild pink peppercorns; peppery arugula and EVOO. This super thinly sliced, tender, melt in your mouth polipo is just so good. We followed that with the beet salad. The organic red and gold beets are a feast for the eyes. They are likewise super thinly sliced, topped with dollops of creamy goat cheese, finely minced pistachios and EVOO. A show-stopper presentation and again absolutely delicious. These shared dishes were accompanied by a bottle of crisp Italian Pinot Grigio making for a perfect light Friday luncheon. I'm seeing frequent lunch visits to Stella in our future.
