OK, a few things to note about this place. It's dirty and they have sticky tables. Customer service from the ladies working is dry & cold. The food: I ordered the garlic fries. There was absolutely no garlic on them but a boat ton of Parmesan cheese that I had to shake off every fry. The fried chicken croffel was pretty good, nice and hot. Strawberry lemonade was refreshing. Americano taste like gas station coffee. Seats are hard and uncomfortable, definitely didn't pass the vibe check.
I'm excited to go back because what I had was so good! I love the bulgogi breakfast hash the potatoes were so crispy and the flavors were amazing though it was just a bit on the sweet side for me. I also liked the cloud matcha latte. Service was great and I like the ambiance.
The food and service and the overall interior were so wonderful!! The croffle especially is SO GOOD I would 100% come again. In fact, I think everyone should give this cafe a try. I guarantee you that it will change your life! The baristas were so nice and wonderful as well! Their recommendations are actually good and they just fit SO well with the atmosphere.
Order/pay then find a seat! Food will be brought o you. They have food and drinks. Only got their food this time around but would love to come back for their drinks. Good study or hangout spot. Got their tteokbokki & shrimp udon. Both on the sweeter side. The tteokbokki is spicy so if you cant handle spice I wouldn't recommend.
Not so good anymore. They've been inconsistent for the past couple months and it stayed that way, maybe they changed the recipe or the matcha powder? The matcha color is not the same anymore, it used to look pretty green. I know they pre-batched their matcha before hand, but it used to be good back then. We got the Cloud Matcha Latte, Honey Lavender Matcha, Butterfly Lavender Matcha Latte, and Strawberry Lemonade. The cloud matcha was the one that tasted the best, the lavender matcha was so bland and had no honey taste. Surprisingly, the strawberry lemonade was the best drink out of all the things we got. Not sure if I'll come back since there are better matcha places in the area.
The Seoul Ham and Egg Toast is fantastic. Avocado poached egg toast was good but reallly difficult to eat. Herb salted fries were okay, had parm on them and really detracted from the overall flavor and texture. Highly recommmend any of the lattes. Adorable coffee and brunch spot and probably my go to of all the shops in this strip.
Such a cute cafe in Plano. Cafe HwaSan has great food and delicious drinks. My favorite thing to eat is the rose udon! I love trying different drinks every time I visit.
I love Cafe Hwasan! I've been here multiple times already and I'm always so impressed by their presentation of their food and the creativity of their coffee drinks. I think I have liked all my coffee drinks from here. Only thing with this place is that it's usually so packed since it's a cafe, you order up front and find a seat yourself. Since people bring their laptops and work here, it might be hard to find seating during mealtimes.
The food was very aesthetic but the pastas weren't as great. We really liked the waffle and the katsu. The service was good !
I was meeting my brother over in Carrollton, for Christmas brunch, I got the Seoul toast and he got a bowl with rice and Bulgogi... we also got tea which was hot and very delicious, so delicious. I went back and got a second one. My toast was a really nice breakfast sandwich. But not like the toast I got in Korea, where it was a larger piece of bread that was kind of almost cut in half and then filled. This was actually two pieces of bread and I enjoyed it. I also got some kimchi fries which were very tasty topped with bacon. The boys really enjoyed it. it was a cute little place right next to a grocery store, and there were a lot of things to go try in the shopping center... My brother was excited to find a Russian grocery store. We will definitely be back.

What a lovely cafe! I tried the tiramisu matcha latte and the matcha was creamy and light. The cold foam paired well with the matcha. The tiramisu flavor wasn't that noticeable but still such a good drink. The cafe itself is decorated so well and aesthetic. I'm eager to come back and try more off of the menu!
I liked the cloud matcha latte a lot! It was just the right amount of sweetness. This is a pretty good place for Korean-fusion food. I wish I got to try the rosé udon. I was a little disappointed with the katsu sando bc I paid about $13 and they cut a piece of bread three way. I guess it was a little more dense because of the katsu but I was honestly shocked at the price. I'll try the other food in the menu but it was pretty good nonetheless.

Wow! My brothers & I came hungry and Cafe HwaSan hit every craving. We love a good sweet & savory dish, and they did a great job at that flavor profile. This was probably my favorite place I ate at in this trip to the DFW area, and I'll definitely be returning! Okay, so here's what we ordered: Kimchi Bulgogi Fries - 9/10 these were LOADED. perfect ratio of yummy toppings to crispy fries Takoyaki - 7.5/10 pretty good! im usually pretty neutral about takoyaki tho but my brothers enjoyed them Rosé Tteokbokkish- 10/10 probably one of my favorites! we even all agreed this was the best tteokbokki dish we've had (but also we're from cstat so we haven't had too much lol). the sauce was perfectly creamy, savory, and sweet + it had fish cake, bacon, and sausage too Kimchi Bacon Creamy Udon - 10/10 the other favorite! honestly tasted exactly how it sounds: creamy and delicious Cheese Buldak - 3/10 honestly it's on us for not reading the menu carefully but we do wish it was a fried instead of grilled chicken. i liked how cheesy it was and the build up of spice was good but honestly nothing to write home about Brown Cheese Croffle - 8.7/10 so soft but also decadent. they wanted to try a unique flavor and this was pretty good! it's almost like a richer salted caramel? the ice cream, sauce, and croffle all went perfectly together with the mix of textures, temps, and flavors I'm so sad I don't live in Plano & can't eat here regularly read more
I LOVE Cafe Hwasan. This is a cute Korean cafe style place that serves delicious and creative food/drinks. I ordered their signature drink- the Cloud Matcha Latte. This is a matcha latte sweetened with agave syrup and topped with sweet whipped cream; sooo perfect for someone who loves sweet matcha drinks. For food, we got the Rosé Udon and the School Tteokbbokki. Both were phenomenal but I really loved the Rosé Udon. This was my first time trying rose udon but the rosé made the sauce so creamy, less spicy, and flavorful. I can't explain but this is definitely one of my new favorite Korean dishes. The dish was topped with lots of mozzarella cheese that also made everything more creamy. It also included udon noodles, sausages, and pieces of bacon that added more salty flavors! I would highly recommend the Rosé Udon!! Finally, we got the Strawberry Croffle for dessert. This dish was good but nothing spectacular. Croffles are croissants that have been pressed in a waffle iron. I found that I enjoyed the texture of the croffle but I didn't love that the strawberries were macerated. I wish the croffle was topped with fresh strawberries (or even a mix of fresh and macerated strawberries) because the macerated strawberries were overly sweet/mushy-almost. This is the cutest cafe with popular Korean street food and the best drinks. Take your friends/out of town visitors here for a not-your-average-basic-brunch experience! It's a find a seat, look at the menu, order at the counter, grab a # place. First time we had to grab our drinks from the counter and it was difficult to hear as they were super busy. The second time our server brought out everything. They forgot to add lavender syrup to my friend's matcha latte and happily remade the right order. My go to is the Seoul ham and egg sandwich and injeolmi latte bc I love everything Injeolmi. And the bulgogi bowl which is so filling that my leftover could've easily been another meal! The spicy udon is also amazing and had more kick than I anticipated. Same could be said about their fried chicken. The only downside is limited GF/vegetarian options. Not a fan of the matcha brownies either but my friend enjoyed them. read more
This is my second time here but my first time eating here. The drink was amazing. I got it last time. I think it's adorable how they add a flower to every drink. I would definitely come here for a date or to study. Now the dish I got was okay at best. It took about 25 minutes for rosé tteokbokki to come out. At first glance it looked delicious but as I ate it, it was extremely savory. Rosé tteokbokki is known as a creamy and sweet dish, but this one was too much flavor. After a couple bites I got tired of it. Other than that I'm sure the other food is delicious. Just next time I'll order something else! read more
This is a new Asian fusion brunch place in the KD square. The interior is very aesthetic and gives instagram vibes. Don't be scared that this is one of those instagram places that has bad food, bc the food was bussin! We got the bulgogi breakfast hash, strawberry croffle, and a matcha latte, and all three were simply delectable. I will definitely be coming back here to try some more menu items! read more
Super cute cafe with food worth coming back for. I think this maybe the first Asian type brunch place that serves more than pastries. They open at 9:30 am. The rose pasta was super creamy and may be a little too heavy for brunch but it was still delicious. The strawberry croffle was amazing! The housemade cream was light and airy. My kids fought over it, so I had to order seconds. I will definitely come back and try their other dishes and drinks too! read more
After many months since the opening, I was able to stop by to try some food and drinks. First, I love their interior look as well as how spacious the place is. Now, this is something they can't control, but there was a group of people that were way too loud. Learn to have manners! Besides them, all the wall sitting areas were filled with people working on something. We tried Avocado Toast, Curry Katsu (chicken), and Kimchi Udon. All 3 were super tasty - well flavored, well balanced, and very fresh! Chicken Katsu was juicy and very crispy - blended really well with their curry. Kimchi Udon was great as well - though, udon was very broken apart and little bit oily. However, very well flavored - wanted to put rice and mix together, lol. Acocado Toast was great as well - every veggies were fresh. For drinks, we had take out - Tiramisu Latte, Hibiscus Rose Lemon Cooler, and Strawberry Matcha. I will say, they need better lids.. Best of 3 was Hibiscus Rose Lemon Cooler - tarty, sweet, and floral in all taste buds. Tiramisu Latte was great as well, but order if you want strong coffee. Strawberry Matcha was little dud for me. Personally, I think they need to add more strawberry puree/jam to add stronger strawberry flavor to the drink. Besides that, I can tell they use decent matcha. Overall, I'd return to try other food items as well as drinks. Just hoping there aren't group of kids shouting out loud. read more

First thing we noticed as we walked in was the absolute vibe with the leafy green wall and the pink neon sign greeting us. Very cute brunch place with a ton of different options to choose from, plating is also pretty. You get a buzzer for your drink & have to clear the table yourself, just like in Korea. The katsu curry was very good. The curry itself tasted closer to Korean in terms of consistency but was presented like Japanese curry. The katsu was very well cooked, piping hot, and crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, my favorite part of the meal. The kimchi bulgogi fries were also delicious. The portions are pretty big! I had the yuja matcha latte and tried my friends' cloud matcha. I liked the cloud better with its softer blend of flavors, as it also was hard to mix the yuja (yuju) syrup and matcha. Really cute cafe to sit down and grab a bite. The udon was good but I wish it had more of a tangy flavor to it from the kimchi. Strawberry matcha was slightly bland and all I could taste was the milk. I am willing to give this place another try cause they have a good looking menu. read more

Cute cafe located in Plano next to zTao super market. The coffee menu is large and I must say very good! I had the matcha cream cafe and it was like a latte topped with luscious matcha cream. The iced travel was very unique, it was like an iced latte topped with ice cream and chocolate sauce! The inside was super well decorated and the staff was friendly. They do have a menu with what looks like Korean fusion food, will have to try it out next time! read more
Tip- Order drinks and food at register. Misleading that the menu is at the table thinking there is a server. They have breakfast from avocado toast to ramen and tacos. I got garden eggs Benedict you can add protein, I had ham. The bread was toasted which was nice touch a lot of times when you order Benedict on bread it's soft and soggy. The banana Nutella was tasty the croffle was crispy and not as heavy and dense as a regular Belgium waffle. Overall presentation matched the taste very pleasing and IG worthy. The bakery item, monkey bread was dense maybe better if it was warmed. Would definitely come back and try taco and lunch items, this place is a local gem. read more

We often brunch here on the weekends - crowd moves quickly so there is always room to sit. Love their korean street toast (it's sweet, savoury, and piping hot) along with their coffees and specialty bowls. Highly recommend waffles (get any variety, you won't go wrong). read more
If you're looking for Korean snacks and drinks, this is the place to be! I had about 30 min to grab lunch and got the Seoul Ham and cheese Sandwich. So much more than you think it's gonna be. There was definitely a hash brown and egg in there too. It was such a thick sandwich I could not get my mouth over it! Luckily they provide you with fork and knife! I also got a black tea to go with my sandwich. The tea bag is HUGE and stuffed so don't let it steep too long, or the tea will be too strong. I loved they were playing kpop overhead when I was there! Yay! So fun! Strong wifi so I could get some work done. I'll be back for lunch when I'm in the area for sure! read more
This is such a cute cafe! The decor is very nice and cozy. Their menu is huge and has lots of options for food and drinks. Food came out super fast and our servers were very nice. We expected smaller/lighter cafe food but there were bigger/heavier options for a fuller meal. Portions were also bigger than expected so were very filling. The one item we didn't really like was the JjangJang Tteokbokki - it tasted like one of our instant jjangjang noodle packets and was quite watery. Otherwise, everything else was quite good! There were lots of people sitting and studying at the cafe as well since there was ample space and seating. Definitely would recommend going more than once to get a good sampling of all the menu options! read more

I love this place. I am a repeat customer. I've yet to order most of their food items, but I love the coffee and the desserts because they hit every time. This is one of the only places in the area I can get an Einspanner latte and I love adding vanilla syrup. Croffle wise, strawberry, and tiramisu are my favorites. The strawberry croffle especially goes well with cafe drinks that aren't too sweet, so it's a perfect balance. Service has always been pretty good when I go, nothing takes too long usually. Coffee comes out pretty fast too. I love meeting up with friends here or even just stopping by to get a drink for the road. The ambiance is also nice and there's a bunch of different table styles to choose from. read more

My friend and I came in for brunch and we were both very disappointed. The avocado toast was not good at all. The tomato that was on it was old and rotten. The corn tasted like they just opened a can of corn and dumped it on. The avocado was old and tasteless. The salad was not good. read more

Came for breakfast and brunch and we liked everything we got! We had vegetarians, some lactose intolerant people, and a baby in our group. They have a wide variety of food and drinks with accommodating options available. The cashier readily took the modifications we requested for and when a poached egg came out with our food instead of scrambled eggs the staff quickly took care of it at no extra charge. Had a really hard time deciding due to the amount of delicious options! Loved everything we ordered so much so that we only got a couple pictures. Lots of drink options for coffee & tea lovers. Enjoyed both a savory & sweet croffle along with a bulgogi bowl and curry bowl. Wish there was a changing table in the restroom, but otherwise restroom and the entire restaurant was clean. read more

This place did not let us down! We got the following dishes and drinks: * Bulgogi Taco * Good, and a nice balance of flavors (acidic and sweet, especially). We had the food and drinks below before we reached this one, so we had to take this one home with us! (4/5) * K-Spicy Chicken Burger * Not spicy and tastes great. The sandwich is perfectly packed with a good amount of chicken (you know it's real when it "shreds") and coleslaw/veggies. A very filling tray of food. (4/5) * Strawberry Croffle * Fresh strawberries, delicious textures, and not too sweet! My favorite part was that the cream on top didn't melt everywhere after 5 minutes. It maintained its form until the very end. (4/5) * Matcha Cream Cafe Latte * The flavor mix of coffee and matcha cream didn't match our personal preferences. quiet, cute cafe with lots of delicious coffee and food options! The service is very friendly and helps you with anything you need. The ambiance is chill, quiet music in the background, and cozy vibes all around. Nice place to study or bring some friends. There are lots of food options as well for quick eats, or coffee choices for long study sessions or early risers (as the place doesn't stay open late). I would consider the food here more comfy than quality. This place has a lot of things you would usually crave on a random night and I enjoyed it a lot. I came by on a Wednesday evening and it was very quiet and relaxed. I got the Chicken Spicy Yaki-Udon & Kimchi Bacon Creamy Udon and both were great. The udon noodles were just frozen udon, but the flavors of both made the dish different and added so much. The Spicy Chicken Yaki-Udon had a good spice and lots of chicken. The Kimchi Bacon Creamy Udon was very creamy and very cheesy. Finished our meal with a croffle which was excellent. Pretty good place to hang out with kpop music! The staff was friendly and its very clean inside. The order the food came out, tiramisu waffles then my french toast fried chicken was not "correct" but im glad because I loved the waffles. The cream was fairly light and not too sweet. The wafer was fresh and the waffles had a good bite to it. Id for sure come and get the others like strawberry next time. Perfect amount of sweetness. My french toast fried chicken was pretty good and juicy korean fried chicken. French toast was standard. I could not finish it since its a ton! Really cute study spot or casual brunch. I would say the food is on the pricey side but it's really good. All of their croffles are great and the sandwich was soooo good. Service tends to be on the slower side but nothing crazy. I've been here a few times and our food usually come in less that 30 minutes. Would definitely recommend this place!! read more

Okay yes! I came here on a Sunday afternoon and there was no wait. There were lots of open seats- I'd definitely come to work here. The Tiramisu Latte was reallly good, so creamy with a strong coffee flavor still. Not too sweet! The food was also surprisingly good. The Tiramisu Croffle had a great crispy texture and paired so well with the cheese cream. The Ham and Egg Toast was sweeter than I expected and a bit heavy. I really liked this place and can't wait to try more~ read more

Been coming here since a couple of years ago. Service has always been great! Lots of coffee flavors to choose from. They use coffee beans that give off nutty flavors, and since I'm not a fan of any floral/ fruity coffee beans, their coffee is definitely to my liking. Food is also amazing! read more

My family really enjoyed our visit here 5 stars for the combination of creative brunch options and solid espresso drinks made with Onyx lab beans. Husband and I both enjoyed our cappuccinos. The avocado toast has a generous portion of smashed avocado, cheese, and greens. Perfectly poached egg really brings it all together and is worth the $2 add on. The croffle with chicken was unique and well done. The croffle is doughy and buttery. The chicken is really well crisped and flavorful. This makes me think any of the dishes with fried chicken would be a good choice. The environment is warm and charming. The staff is friendly. You order at the counter and bus your own table. Cafe Hwasan is a great place to grab brunch and dessert! I was not expecting that high quality of food since it is a cafe, but I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious our orders were. I tried the spicy chicken udon, and it was so flavorful and light. I also tried the strawberry croffle, which was great, but I would try the other more unique flavors next time (we were with a picky eater lol). As for ambiance, the cafe is pretty loud on the weekend and it may be hard to find a seat indoors. read more

Cute little place with really fresh and tasty dishes! The seating is a bit limited if you have a large party, but I loved the cafe-type vibes. We ordered the rose tteokbokki, the crispy chicken sandwich, bulgogi kimchi fries, bulgogi tacos, and the Oreo croffle. Everything was super hot and freshly made, and the chicken was really crispy. The kimchi fries were good, but they did have a lot of kimchi on them. We ordered the bulgogi tacos and the bulgogi fries and they had basically the same toppings, so next time we would probably go with just one. Our favorite was the rose tteokbokki, especially the sauce! We dipped our fries in the leftover tteokbokki sauce, which was really tasty. The croffle was refreshing and a great sweet treat after the meal! I would definitely come back for brunch or lunch sometime. read more
This was my first time trying Cafe HwaSan but definitely not my last! Our food was incredible! We ordered off of UberEats and it was well worth it! I ordered the chicken sandwich with fries for my daughter, and she said it was very yummy. For myself, I ordered the avocado toast and added bacon, kimchi, egg, and smoked salmon. It was truly decadent! One of the best avocado toasts I've ever had! And the little salad on the side was a great way to break up some of the heavier ingredients from the taste. I will definitely want this again, but also very likely to try other items off the menu again! read more

Place is much more than a coffee shop as they have food and dessert. We ordered coffee and dessert, and I definitely want to try more. I do like the Einspanner better at other places. Although, not many cafes make it here. Upon entering, you order at the counter, and there is a pickup for drinks. For the food, they'll bring it to your table. I did like the decor, and the place is not a quiet place. read more
