There are a ton of coffee shops in Charlottesville but if you're looking for a REALLY good iced…read morelatte, SK is the way to go. I've tried the matcha latte in the past and it wasn't my favorite, but their coffee? Amazing! I got a medium iced caramel latte with skim milk and cold foam. It was the perfect milk to espresso ratio -- not too much so that it loses the coffee taste but not too little that the espresso is overpowering. The caramel flavor was just the right amount of sweetness. They topped it with a nice drizzle as well, making the drink super pretty (if you care about that sort of thing). The coffee shop itself is very cute inside & it has plenty of seating if you're looking to catch up with a friend or get work done. If you're in Charlottesville and you don't stop at SK for a drink, you're missing out!

It smells heavily of fabuloso when I went in. When I ate my grilled chicken and pesto sandwhich and…read moremy biscoff crepe it was a lingering smell in the food. I ordered it to go. I don't ever leave one star reviews but it is not safe. I ate my sandwich at first and couldn't finish it because it smelled like the floor. My brother tried the crepe and I didn't tell him anything and he told me it tastes like laundry detergent and he tasted it in the food and not from the boxes. So it's not safe and they really should start diluting the fabuloso or just stop using it completely because it smells and tastes exactly like it.

I discovered this place by surprise when I forgot to prepare coffee for myself like I usually do…read morethe night before work. I needed to find somewhere near my dog's daycare that I could grab a coffee and go straight to work after dropping him off, but I generally drink coffee with oat milk, and I don't like to settle for mcdonalds coffee. Honestly, I wish I had found this place sooner, because I would have been going there a lot. It's a quiet, inviting space with a small, shared parking lot, and it seems like it would be a nice place to dine in as well as take things to go. They had no qualms with using my personal ceramic cup, and their Americano with oat milk is fantastic (they also use Oatly, which is my favorite brand). I peeked at the food menu and the bakery case, and everything looked SO good. I will be back for both coffee and that bacon cheese croissant soon! EDIT: returned a second time for a takeout drink and to get a photo to add to this review, but the staff is so kind and the place is so inviting that I ended up sitting for a bit on their patio. New fav coffee place!

We ordered a regular coffee and a latte. My large coffee with room from creamer was only 3/4 full and the quality was just okay. The $6 latte was nothing special. The biscoff bun was delicious. And the carrot cake muffin was heavy, dense, and cold. Inside setting is wonderful. Ample seating, diverse offerings and an open feel - it serves the space well. Parking is limited on the side with difficult alternative arrangement options. I think in time a uniform feel is possible but some quality control is necessary.

Once we ordered our drinks and ordered our appetizer, we realized that the menu had changed from only hours before. Though only two replacement items replaced what we thought would be "house dishes", we ordered accordingly and waited 35+ minutes for the food. Once our entrees were served, my girlfriend's chicken in place of duck was unseasoned and bland. The Cassoulet I ordered featured undercooked beans and maybe three pieces of chewy and rubbery sausage. As a place heralded for their cocktails and cuisine, we were both grossly underwhelmed and disappointed by the service and food. The atmosphere could work as an upscale cocktail lounge, but the food was abysmal. Wouldn't recommend this spot at all.

I sat in the outdoor area on a nice day, with live music playing down the street. My server was quick to chat me up and give recommendations. I went with the mussels and a glass of happy hour wine. The wine was OK, but the mussels (and that broth!) were great. I'd have given it 4 stars, if not for the very attentive server. Totally worth a revisit.
