Overall I think a 4-star experience represents this spot well. The service was friendly but slow. The identity is a mix of coffee, wine, art, and food. All of which are okay. It's a bit pricey but on par with the local offerings. Indoor seating is ample with diverse seating options for work, meeting, kids, and more. The entire place smells like slightly mildewy old book pages. An ever present odor. The French baguette bread for the sandwich is a bit lackluster. Weird that they wouldn't leverage the proximity and potential relationship with Great Harvest across the street. read more

Came here on a spontaneous whim and got an iced dirty chai latte. Even with an espresso shot added, the chai flavor was still strong. Sweet but not overly sweet. I would come back and get this again. read more

This is a really cool coffee shop that also offers wine, sandwiches and cooler drinks including IBC Root Beer., We had large iced lattes: Chai Tea and Vanilla. They were great. The young woman that took our order was very nice, friendly and efficient. She made our drinks before running the tab, and let us know that. Excellent service. The store is in a stand alone building for two stores. It has both inside and outdoor seating. The inside seating is in a seperate room from the counter area. This is a great find. read more

This would be a great place to take children to and enjoy some coffee. They do some wine, but I wouldn't say that it's like walking into a coffee store or winery where they're incredibly knowledgeable about their inventory. They were very kind. read more

C'ville Coffee - A turtle for kids to play on in the kids area. - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Charlottesville, Virginia

Coffee Shop No. 346 One step into C'Ville Coffee and I couldn't help but be drawn into the shop. What caught my attention? ALL the unique coffee cups hanging from the ceiling by a string. Besides cortados, traveling is one of my favorite things; so this showcase absolutely grasped my attention! Every coffee cup was from a different place in the world and dates were stuck to the bottom of each cup. The barista confirmed the cups belonged to the owner who picked them up on his travels. What a fabulous way to track and share your travels! C'Ville Coffee has more to offer than just cool coffee cups dangling from the ceiling. To the left when you walk through the front door is a wall dedicated to the local art scene; from learning opportunities, to event postings, and a showcase for artists' work. Some of the artwork and prints are for sale. Be sure to walk through the front part of the shop because there is ample seating in the back, a fun mural and a LARGE sea turtle in the back corner for children of all ages to enjoy, and also a spot dedicated for adults if you are trying to work or study and the happy kiddos are having lots of fun in their corner. If you admire books like me you'll find a decent sized library in the back. This is definitely a place you could spend an hour or an entire day at. As a cortado enthusiast who visits as many coffee shops as possible on my travels, let's get to the most important part...the cortado. The barista was friendly and engaging which I think always adds value to the cortado. Other than the cortado being served a bit hot I thoroughly enjoyed the espresso drink. The milk to espresso ration was perfect. I would definitely order it again without a second thought Overall, this is a great local coffee shop that has something for everyone. read more

This place is so cute! The decor is super fun, and there are plenty of tables and seating in the back, in addition to the outdoor seating in front of the coffee shop. They have coffee, sandwiches, and some baked goods. I ordered a berry turkey sandwich, and it was so delicious! I would definitely recommend trying it :) fair warning though - it is a little bit pricey. Staff were friendly and things came out fairly quickly considering how busy it was! The ambiance is perfect for getting some work done, as it's pretty quiet and they play jazz music in the background. Definitely will be returning soon! read more

Came here for a meet up with friends and cannot rate this place high enough. I love the space in the back, the places to read and eat or even play a board game and also with a space for kids to play! I got the Italian sandwich which was DELICIOUS and added the whipped feta. 10/10 recommend if you like flavorful Italian subs!!! I also got a coffee and was pleased with their coffee as well, though the sandwich was more of a standout to me. read more

You're missing out if you aren't visiting C'ville Coffee. All of their beverages are delicious, they also have these honey bunches they sell that we stock up on regularly. They have sandwiches as well, though we've only had a few they've always been really good. The best part of C'ville Coffee is the staff and the owner, they are all the best. They make for such a friendly environment. It's hard not to become a regular with such a great experience every time. read more

My favorite coffee in Charlottesville! Highly recommend the Hot or Iced Vietnamese. The honey bunches are also a must-try!

Above average coffee shop. Understaffed however, with only one person who has to suffer long lines making all the coffees as well as taking orders! Then one or two people making the sandwiches. It was very good service but just very understaffed. There was plenty of seating with an adult area and a kids area. Lots of art and decor. read more

I would love to see this coffee shop in action when the pandemic is over! It looks like a great community center. A place for meeting, a place for music, a place for your kids to hang out, and great coffee! There is still out door seating to soak up some rays while you enjoy your drink or food. The Vietnamese coffee was on point and the regular brewed coffee was smooth. We had a great chat with the owner and loved hearing the story behind the coffee mug decor. If we visit C'Ville again, we'll definitely be back to this great coffee shop. read more

I'm usually a 5 Star reviewer. I love food, and most of my experiences are awesome. This only gets 4 stars because the staff wasn't great. I came in for a meeting, never having been there before. They have a build-your-own sandwich/wrap portion of the menu. I asked if any of the breads or wraps were vegan and said (or do any not have milk or egg, in case vegan wasn't clear).. the cashier said "I don't think any are vegan." I was surprised by this because not too many breads or wraps actually do contain egg/milk. When she saw my confused face she admitted that she didn't actually know if any of them had milk or egg. This is bad because dairy allergies are common and staff should know, or at least have a list of, allergens and ingredients. I ordered the wheat wrap anyway, because a lot of tortillas are vegan and I figured it was a pretty safe bet. I got hummus, banana peppers, tomato, cucumber, lettuce and added sriracha at the counter. It came out fast and I was satisfied. Price wasn't bad and the wrap was big and delicious. Only complaint is that better education of the staff is needed. read more

I stopped in at C-ville Coffee recently and had the most amazing, warm pumpkin muffin and coffee. Bring cash in case you have a small order, otherwise you can pay by credit card. The staff here are friendly, and the entryway is filled with really enchanting decor - mugs hanging from the ceiling, a variety of wine bottles neatly stacked near the register, and the aroma of freshly baked goods. C-ville Coffee is my go-to spot if I need a place to hang out and get some work done, have a short meeting or chat with someone, or come for a delicious sandwich and to read a book for a bit. The owner of this lovely coffee shop is also so friendly, warm and welcoming. They call your name out when your food is ready, and it feels like home. There are some parking spots around the building, and some other places to visit nearby as well, such as the escape room, the rock climbing gym or the antique store. read more

This review is based on the coffee. The barista did not have knowledge of coffee or drink flavor combinations. There was only one person working and the service was slow. There ordered two lattes. lattes were between room temperature and Luke warm and tasted like milk, very minimal hint of the espresso and flavors. They're not enjoyable and we were on a time limit for our appt and unable to go back to ask for them to be remade. read more

Stopped in for coffee and breakfast but opted not to get what looked like a rather expensive breakfast sandwich. ($8? I'm sure it's great, though.) Instead, I enjoyed my very nice latte with a blueberry muffin and made my expense account a little happier. This is a very large place. There are separate areas for children and grownups, which is awesome. Wifi works well, power outlets can be found and the tables are comfortable. read more

Super cute little cafe on the corner. Masks are required inside. I like all the mugs hanging from the ceiling, gives it character. Such a cute little coffee place! Found this cafe while looking for a place to study for a short bit~ The coffee was good if you like sweet lattes haha and the brownie was okayyyy.. they brought out cookies later which looked amazing! The brownie was a little expensive and not my favorite :(. I would've probably gotten the cookie instead if it came out earlier~~~ Friendly staff and lots of seating. They had a menu of foods as well (I believe sandwiches and salads?) and even had bottles of wine! I liked the ambiance and would definitely try this place again :))) read more

The folks at the counter are always super friendly and welcoming. Very "college/liberal arts" , "artsy" vibe. Once upon a time you'd find the local Charlottesville political kings and queens hanging out here. Now, it's work from home folks having meetings, Some mom's groups and other groups meeting and brainstorming, As I sit here drinking my very good chai latte (very hot hot hot burned my tongue!) I'm observing all that is going on. They also serve sandwiches and salads, have fresh baked goods, and in the pm you can get wine and beer. There's also some great outdoor seating but why swelter in the heat when you can chill out in a perfectly comfortable, air conditioned table? There's a kids area and an adults only area (where adults and college students work). Overall a great, local hangout. read more

C'ville Coffee - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Charlottesville, Virginia

I came here for the first time last week to do some studying. I love the environment and how it was such a large space for work and play. I tried their hot chocolate which was just the right amount of sweet and richness. I found the parking lot a little small and the inside to be too dark especially in the quieter adult section. The second time I visited, I tried their blue bayou sandwich. It was surprisingly really good and fresh! The horseradish sauce wasn't too overwhelmingly spicy and worked well with the roast beef. I would say their sandwiches are pretty pricey tho. The bread was a little chewy and not as crunchy as I had expected. During that specific day there was a concert and they closed off their adult section for only people that were coming for the show; however, they allowed me to stay past their opening hours which was nice. read more

My wife stopped in on our way out of Charlottesville and we ordered coffees and sandwiches and it was not good, especially since it cost close to $40. The coffee was ok but the sandwiches were awful, neither of us could eat them. The eggs on the sandwiches were barely cooked. They just should not have sandwiches on the menu. The place was crazy overpriced too, the coffees were close to $10 a piece. read more

Cville coffee is currently my favorite coffee shop in town to study. Its spacious with tons of seating for solo workers and groups. The sandwiches are pretty solid if you need to eat something and I love any coffee shop that also offers wine. Oh and their coffee is legit as well. You can buy whole beans to take home which is always nice. Be aware that they have a minimum $5 charge for credit cards but if you know you will be there a while just pre-order your 1/2 price refill. Internet is good and parking is usually available nearby (a major weakness of Millie's). read more

Awesome coffee shop!! The girl working when we arrived was incredibly sweet and friendly. We tried a couple of their candy-ish coffee concoctions, which were quite tasty (if not overly sweet, gah!). Nobody's reviewed this yet? This cute place with the good food and nice atmosphere? Really? C'ville Coffee is bigger than it looks, and really just begs to be lounged in. The menu is surprisingly different, with not only coffee and tea, but foreign beers, Asian noodle entrees, and warm delicious breakfasts. The main seating area breaks into two spaces: one for the laptop wielders who sit down, plug-in, and sip and eat for a meal and a half. The other is child friendly with large objects to climb over, beautifully muraled walls, and things to play with - it seems perfect for mothers meeting up to chat while letting their kids go wander. Overall, this was a great place to sit and chat, sit and study, schedule a meeting, and the like. Definitely find time to go. read more

If coffee is your focus, you might want to look elsewhere, but it's difficult to beat this place when you need to gather with your group. The coffee drinks are nothing you can't find elsewhere, and the sandwiches are varied enough to please just about everyone while being simple enough to offend few. Everyone raves over the honey bunches, which are small granola treats filled with coconut and honey. They are VERY sweet and very heavy, but a good occasional indulgence. The C'Ville Coffee shop is a large open space with good wifi and plenty of tables and chairs. There is a high counter with stools just across from the register, but if you go through the door you will find so much more! The first section features a children's play area. A massive wooden turtle sits in the corner, and is loved by kids of all ages. There are a few toys, the restrooms are nearby, and it is a good place to go if you parent little ones and might want to find some friendly conversation. Just please don't confuse the honey bunches as a healthy snack for the little ones! The second, larger, section is reserved for adults. A gate and a sign designate it as the "quiet" zone, but be honest, they do nothing to block the sound of exuberant children. Realize that they exist simply to keep the kids from tripping over your feet (and your power cords) and you will appreciate them. When I lived in the Charlottesville area (mostly pre-Yelp days, sadly) I used the coffee shop as a meeting place for my book club, and as an easy gathering place for friends. Many years have passed since this was a regular stop, but it is still a destination for me. C'Ville has changed so much in the last few years, so I appreciate having a well known destination when I'm in the area. I call a friend, find a table, order a cup and a honey bunch or two, and we watch the town gather. read more

Good little shop with a cool vibe and ambiance. Had an iced coffee and an egg and cheese wheat wrap. Coffee was very good. Wrap was good, nothing spectacular, kind of average. My deduction of a point from 4 to 3 here was for the friendliness of the staff. I read so many reviews on here raving about that aspect, but I only received muttered sentences and scowls. I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, maybe a few of them just had a bad day. I just didn't feel like I was welcome there and it was a chore for them to take and make my order. That's the hipster way I guess, pretend like you're all about peace and love, except when it comes to your actual fellow man that you're interacting with in the present moment. Good luck with that when you step out of your bubbles! read more

Came here to study during finals, which if anyone who goes to UVA is reading this would know, is quite the time of struggle in terms of finding somewhere that isn't overflowing with people. But C'ville Coffee had all the space I could ask for and possibly more! It's probably because it's just a bit out of range from UVA Grounds, but the short drive was worth it in my opinion. Outlets aren't super available to every table, but it wasn't too difficult to make things work. As for the coffee itself, I would say it was so-so. I got a large iced coffee which I found a bit watery for my taste. They also left too much space for cream, which I personally have a pet peeve for. They also serve food, though I didn't order anything on this first visit. I would still come back here just for the study space, so hopefully I'll try their food next time! read more

C'ville Coffee is a nice cafe/coffee shop if you're looking for a caffeine fix while getting some work done. They have tons of space with a variety of table sizes and outlets if you need to plug your laptop in, and wifi is free for customers. If you're the type of person who needs complete quiet, I would not recommend coming here because there is a good amount of background noise. They have a varied selection of hot breakfast items, sandwiches, pastries, and drinks. The sandwiches are a little overpriced for what you get, and you could probably get better sandwich options elsewhere. For caffeine, I had a chai latte, and it was delicious. My friend got a vanilla latte and one of the chocolate chip cookies and was happy with her choices as well.
