Back again ! Greeted by two wonderful happy women ! Last time we were rushed out of the place by two men who wanted to close the shop an half an hour early because they had no desire to be there ! I would imagine it was the two women husbands! Hence , the rush noted in my last post! The mood was very different! Food every where! Just treats : like overloaded cookies ; two for $8. It seemed it a little stale , but dipped in milk , most excellent! Pimento cheese loaded with bacon : over $10! This is a great little place to explore! Really not a blue collar place, but great for a treat in the middle of nowhere. xamen des cols bleus:

An excellent stop for unique food items to eat now or later. In fact, I found a number of Christmas gifts here during my visit AND scored lunch for a winery visit. Be sure to get one of the sandwiches or enjoy their chicken salad which is delicious!

Spotted this cuuuuute little market on the way to John Monroe's Highland. We had to stop on the way back - because, CUTE. The staff was friendly, helpful, and COVID safe. Orders are taken outside the door and treats are passed off, contactfree. We had two PERFECT Dirty Chai lattes with oat milk; truly perfect espresso, not too sweet chai. Please pop in!

Great little enclave of tasty treats and wine. Stopped briefly for sandwiches and quick conversation. Staff was amazing and the service was excellent.

Great foods and incredible coffee. They'll let you bring your own mug.

The delightful coffee kept me coming back. Then I had a breakfast sandwich and it was incredible. Hot, fresh, made with care. Lovely little gift shop and foods prepared to go. This is not your fast food "subway" but I was amazed how inexpensive it is for such quality foods. They also have oat milk etc. great friendly people. Support your local businesses.

Stopped here to pick up sandwiches to picnic at Jefferson Vineyards. It wasn't particularly busy but they seemed like they were just opening up (it was around 11am). Took a few minutes for him to take our order but it took unusually long to get two sandwiches. It was bad cuz we're talking cold and very basic sandwiches to put together. It took about a half hour making us late for our reservation at nearby Jefferson Vineyards. Should have just stopped at a regular sandwich spot on our way like Jersey Mike's or Jimmy John's but wanted to take up recommended spot from vineyard. Guy threw in two bags of chips since we waited so long

As usual, I'm looking for the best coffee roaster to go to, and Lone Light Coffee was on the top of my list in this area. The coffee shop is on the smaller side, but it was warm and comfortable. The baristas were nice and three of them gave me their input on which single origin I should choose for my pour-over. POUR-OVER - MKT Price +6.50 for Mohammed Aba Nura - Ethiopia (tasting notes: Strawberry, white chocolate, hazelnut) I wanted the craziest tasting option they had, and they recommended this one since it's pretty popular and well-liked among customers. However, one of the barista said he didn't really like it himself. I figured I should still try it. The sips I had while it was still warm was pretty juicy and sweet, but I really didn't like the notes once it cooled down (about 20 minutes later), which tasted sour and off-putting. I should have listened to that one barista and went with a different single origin option. Overall, good roaster -- just unfortunate that I tried something that wasn't for me. The baristas seem knowledgeable and passionate about their craft. I would love to come back next time and try another single origin offering.

The baristas are excellent at making coffee, friendly, and the seasonal drinks are creative. They have a cardamom syrup that's delicious in lattes. The shop itself is very cute, with a handful of tables and stools at the counter. There's a couple of tables outside too. I wouldn't recommend trying to get work done here during a busy time since it's not a huge space.

Even the coffee trailer itself is unique! They have black coffee, espresso, lattes, and everything in between. Go, and enjoy! The fun version: Once upon a time, in the land of Jeffersonian delight (Charlottesville), the gods of the coffee bean sent down an idea which was brought forth to two young entrepreneurs. They said "Hey, um, so, listen, you two seem awesome... go get a coffee trailer, take it to events, and while you're at it why not provide some delicious nom noms. Okay, coffee gods out!" And entrepreneur 1 said to entrepreneur 2 "It'll only work if we have a great logo." 2 said "Bet." I mean, they probably have their own version but that's how I picture it in my head. And boom, Maresca's was born. Now, we have been a few times and tried multiple items before writing this. Two iced lattes (hazelnut and vanilla), a vanilla cappuccino, a cortado, a black coffee, and a scone. The cortado was bangin. The cappuccino was just perfectly bold yet milky. The other flavored drinks have a delightful flavor that is just enough there but not so much that you loose sight of a tasty espresso. The scone was homemade deliciousness and the black coffee was good. Personally, I like mine a bit stronger but it was still a good cup of coffee. I also love getting text updates about their location. We even used it this weekend to learn about a festival nearby that we didn't know about until they said they were there. Lastly, the happiness these two seem to have every time we go is the greatest part of the experience. Their smiles when they greet you are 100% in earnest and their logo is itself a work of art. Coffee gods, be proud. PS: we drank most all the drinks before realizing we should take pics.
