Hubby's Chicken paillard mit avocado burrata salat - 2/21/2025
Cam E.

21st February 2026 New York, NY The gang were all here again for the annual cuz fest! - Our darling cousin's birthday celebration on the 21st of February, we were all seated at the bend of the the famous Antipasto Bar. The perfectly marvelous waitstaff attended to our every desire like a well oiled machine. They are so well sequenced and charming. The team here always looks like they are having fun, and that adds to the ambience! We celebrated the afternoon with much merriment and several courses of delicious cuisine, ending with gelato and a sublime birthday tiramisù dessert topped with candle for making a wish! As if you didn't already know, Fiorello's is the totally quintessential New York fun old school Italian restaurant across from Lincoln Center that everyone loves. We love it when the stars line up as they did today, and as they always do! Looking forward to seeing you again next year, or perhaps even sooner for another celebration. Enjoy! Café Fiorello, Grazie mille! Thank you again and again!

Quinoa & Avocado Salad with shrimp
Laura P.

Went here for lunch with my family before the ballet. It's conveniently located across from Lincoln Center. Although the place was busy and the service was quick, I was not super thrilled with the food. Presentation of food was nice though. We started off with beets, they were ok. I ordered the quinoa and avocado salad with shrimp. It was good, but I have had better. Would not go running back.

We were walking down the street checking out menus when Fiorellos menu caught my eye. It offers a vegetable antipasto. I love vegetables. I ordered the mushrooms, the vegetable tart and the artichoke . You had the option to choose three or five kinds of vegetables. The mushrooms were a little spicey but good. The other two had mire subtle but interesting tastes

So DELICIOUS!! This is my half portion of Caccio y Peppe with fried artichokes. Excellent!!

My eggplant parmigiana was truly one of the best I have ever had. Eggplant parmigiana is one of my all time, favorite dishes, so I love to order it as my first choice in an Italian restaurant. And, It was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS here !!! I loved that I could also order a half portion of pasta with my entree. Food wishes do come true ....sometimes LOL....The menu has a large variety of selections, truly, something to please everyone, and I was wishing that I could taste the Cacio y Pepe spaghetti with fried artichokes, but I had decided to order eggplant parmigiana as my main course. I did see on the large menu that I could add a half portion of pasta, with my entree, however, the pasta I wanted to try was not on that list. So, for all those people who don't like to ask...I did ask, and our server brought it to our table, and it was DELICIOUS! We were too full to order dessert, since we finished our lovely, generous portions. But, NEXT TIME, I will order dessert!! I shall pace myself LOL. My friend had the Caesar salad and added the chicken paillard. She enjoyed the salad, and I consider her a Caesar salad expert, since she orders it so often, but she said that the chicken paillard, was good, but she has had better. Since I didn't taste it, (she offered) I can only say that the dish was served beautifully and it was a generous portion. See my photos. In brief-I LOVED MY MEAL, the service was very nice, the hostess outside was so very nice, she was professional, friendly, and welcoming. The epitome of a fine hostess . I absolutely recommend Cafe Fiorella! Make a reservation if you can, but, if you are dining spur of the moment, don't hesitate to visit the restaurant. There is lovely outdoor seating, as well as indoor seating. I look forward to my return visit !!

Cafe Fiorello has been a stellar fixture in the areas surrounding Lincoln Center for The Performing Arts since 1974. Known as the institution for its authentic breakfast, lunch, brunch & dinner; when people arrive they feel at home. A shocker to believe, that around LCPA; Cafe Fiorello is moderately price and deliciously amazing. Serving old-school Italian food, priced and charm, family-run atmosphere, and traditional red-sauce dishes, Cafe Fiorello's long-standing of exceptional and exquisite Food, Service and authenticity. if you LOVE savoring authentic Italian cuisine...what are you waiting for? Cafe Fiorello is waiting to serve you.

Wow! Packed after the Opera. Make reservations. Great food, tight space. Some people were at bar and huge line when we left.

I have eaten here many times, and have never been disappointed with either the food or the outstanding service. However on March 14th I sat by the front window and ordered brunch. At the same time I noticed the preparation at the anti pasta bar which I've always found to be of the best quality and freshness. I ordered scrambled eggs with bacon and coffee specifically I asked for eggs that were well done and I asked for a coffee with skim milk. The eggs arrived very loose and I never received the coffee, except afterwards I was asked if I wanted coffee with dessert. Also, none of the tables were set with salt and pepper. I did complain to management. However it was a pleasure observing the anti pasta bar server bring out of the fresh anti pasta.

Caprese Salad

The service is always top notch. The prix fixe is a steal. I had the Caprese salad and the chicken parm. It was delicious. Followed by the tiramisu. I'm not huge on tiramisu but this one was especially good. Not too sweet, not too soft and perfect amount of coffee.

this is our go to spot before seeing a show at Lincoln Center and I definitely recommend making a reservation here as far as you can. The service is very attentive and they move you in and out of there quickly, especially if you let them know that you are seeing a show. The portions are decently sized, so usually my family and I end up sharing some of the vegetable anti-pasta and then a few entrées amongst all of us. The chicken Parm is nothing to brag about, but it does the trick and is very tender. The lamb special was delicious with very tender meat and mashed potatoes. They have food for all types of diets here and the atmosphere is very New York City

I have to say I was wowed with my meal tonight. I was hesitant given the score on yelp. The apps were pretty small so if you're sharing with a big group order many. When the meal started I was underwhelmed seeing that BUT my main really sold me. I ordered the crab and avocado salad. I was worried it would be a puny salad with little to no crab which was a gamble for the price point. But I was happily surprised with the plentiful portion of crab! It had a TON! The salad was perfect! Well chopped and filling. Then we ordered several desserts to share and couldn't even finish them. Great meal. Glad I came back after one bad date experience

The ambiance feels straight of the golden age, which is an aesthetic I'm certainly a sucker for. Even their robust cocktail menu fits the bill and is one of the prettiest menus I've ever had the joy of perusing. Staff was able to sit us a little bit ahead of our reservation which was also much appreciated. Wait staff was also very helpful and attentive, I don't think I've ever had my water glass so topped off! Starting off with cocktails, this place is a gin bar through and through and you'd be making a mistake if you didn't try one of their many options. I went with the 10,000 words, which you simply just give a spirit of your choice (I picked gin of course) and whether you antes) wanted your drink shaken or stirred and the bartender does the rest, so a bit of a surprise! I wound up with their version of The Last Word which was delightfully citrusy but I was hoping I'd wind up with something a little more adventurous app things considered. My girlfriend got the blackberry G&T, which was not only very pleasing to look at but delicious to boot. For food, we started with splitting some zucchini blossoms and beef cheek bao buns (both come in portions of 3). Both were tasty, but I love a good bao bun and these were so light and pillowy, I could have just went for an order of those for my main course. For the entree I went for the roasted half chicken, perhaps the most unassuming choice on the menu but this was maybe the best roast chicken I've ever had. Prepared perfectly, cooked to perfection, excellent portion size, and the kicker of it all was the stunning gravy that I was tempted to lick my plate for. Chicken is very easy to screw up, and they nailed it on all fronts here. My girlfriend went for the Valerie Signature burger with white cheddar and this thing did not mess around! A very rich patty, cooked to her temperature of choice served alongside some garlic truffle fries that made an American classic feel just a little more elevated. Our experience was delightful and I'd love to comeback here again, especially to check out more of the cocktail menu and soak in more of that golden age aura the place gives.

It was our first time eating at a Friedman's location. It had a nice diner feel to it, with a mix of booths and tables. The brunch menu has a variety of breakfast items, salads, sandwiches and burgers, starters, and entrees (fish tacos, grain bowl, fried chicken). I like that several of the items are naturally gluten free, and some can be made gluten free by request. We decided to go with three breakfast items from the brunch menu: I got the shakshuka, my sister got the Nova Benny, and we got the lemon ricotta pancakes to share. All 3 dishes were great. The shashuka came with grilled ciabatta, perfect for dipping into the sunny side eggs and tomato sauce. My sister loved that the poached eggs and smoked salmon of the Nova Benny came on top of a crispy potato latke. The pancakes were fluffy and the lemon ricotta and lemon zest elevated their flavor. Our server was friendly and attentive, and he asked us if we had any allergies when he took our order. He came by several times to check on us and refill water. I would return to Friedman's when I'm in the Herald Square area, or check out one of their other locations in the city.

For dessert, the iconic tiramisu. Garganelli- This has a nice, arugula pesto sauce that has a rich garlicky finish. It's enhanced with roasted mushrooms and sharp pecorino. Tagliatelle- You get a rich pork and beef bolognese. The house made pasta is cooked to perfection. Pretty satisfying! Ravioli- This is a light, seasonal dish with pumpkin, brown butter, and sage. The sauce complements the sweet pumpkin and the brown butter adds a nuttiness. Tiramisu- This dessert was too cute to eat! It was decorated with a meek looking model of their namesake lamb. Nobody wanted to ruin its face so we slowly ate this from the outside in. The espresso it strong, complemented by the creamy marscapone layers. Textures and flavors were perfectly balanced. From the outside it didn't look like much but after passing through the two sets of glass doors... It's packed. And lively. And (really) loud. And it was only a Tuesday night?! (How are all of these people living so high on the hog, without a care in the world?!) We were escorted off to a little tucked-away enclave near the back, but the restaurant was just too boisterous and we had to shout just to talk to people at the other end of the table. We got our menus and there was a bit of 'sticker shock' on my part, I can't lie. "We're in NYC, what did you expect?" - the Mrs. whispered when she saw my eyes go wide. But $38 for chicken parm? (Which is what I went with after seeing it had its own little "parm-fection" hype on the menu.) And $36 for the Branzino (which consisted of one fillet on a small bed of wilted spinach)? Our table dabbled all over the place and for the most part everyone really enjoyed their meals. The food they're knocking out is legit, for sure. But the bill came out to over $60 a person (including the tip, but we didn't have apps or dessert and half of us just had water), which hurts when you're a cheap-o like myself. Our waitress was awesome (and she didn't even seem fazed when I tried to rattle her that we were going to split the check onto nine different credit cards... but we only used one). And Bryant Park (right across the street) was the perfect nightcap on a lovely spring evening.
