    Vietnamese Iced Coffee
    Michiel D.

Hands down the best Vietnamese iced coffee. Would come here daily if I lived here. The owner is also super kind, can't wait to try the Bahn Mi. It's a takeout window, so the ones interested to sit would have to go to Yerba Buena / Moscone area and enjoy the park.

Steam pork sandwich and a bag of chips. Delicious

I was so happy to have a day off so I can come here to get my steam pork sandwich. All of her menu items are great. Karen runs this business by herself and she offers excellent service! The ambiance is a window where she takes your order. Support her business. You won't regret ordering your sandwich.

Pass by this place so many times and was really surprised that they have bánh mì so I have to give it a shot. The baguette is huge, definitely on the heavier side compared to the other bánh mì place. Portion vs price wise, it's a bit more expensive but given the location, I'd think it makes sense. Only tried the traditional cold cuts so I can't make any comments for other but the photos look good. If you want a bánh mì and convenience around FiDi, maybe give it a try.

TLDR: Go there before lunchtime to grab the best banh mi. Best for walkers on the go. Filling. Yummy. Easily the best I've had in SF. I pass by this cute little place and read their cute little quotes of the day everyday on my walk but whenever I want to go try their food they're almost always quickly sold out by afternoon. So please get there quick to grab the goodest stuff and maybe some wisdom cos they have two quotes put up to read everyday. It's a small kiosk style quick bites place with a good range of banh mi or Vietnamese sandwiches, bagels sandwiches, brunch items in the menu. My favourite is their chicken meatball sandwich. Flavours so good and mild it'll make you happy from the inside. It definitely made me. Thank you very much lady in the kiosk.

Vegan tofu banh mi with vegan Mayo!

Oh my goshhh! I took a stress detox walk during work the other day and saw a little line coming from this teeny hole in the wall so I took a closer look to see what it was. I am vegan and I saw they had a tofu Banh Mi. I finished my walk and called the next day to ask if it was vegan. They actually said they can swap the regular Mayo for vegan Mayo! What?! That is so cool! Usually I have to omit it completely, I was so happy. She offered to start making it so it was ready when I got there. I confirmed! Service was extremely friendly and enthusiastic which I really appreciate. Upon arrival I was surprised to see how large and thick the sandwich appeared to be in the bag. I sat to eat and opened this beautiful, delicious sandwich shown in the photo. Sweet, spicy, incredible! I would absolutely recommend this place! Side note: I don't think they have vegans cookies anymore, which I saw listed in other reviews.

Cold Cut Steam Pork Sandwich - AMAZING!!!

This might have been the most memorable meal out of my entire SF trip. My friend and I were walking to Chinatown from Union Square for dimsum and walked by Cafe Dolci. Out of curiosity, we looked at the menu and suddenly had cravings for banh mi. So we went full out and shared the pork banh mi, with Thai tea & Vietnamese coffee. The lady at the counter truly LOADED our banh mi, with tons of daikon/carrots, meat, mayo, and HELLA CILANTRO. Also the bread was so so crispy and addicting. The drinks were SO good, not too sweet but incredibly creamy. Cafe Dolci is truly a HOLE IN THE WALL. I want to relive the first bite experience bc we were so impressed. The portions of pork were so filling that we did not have room for dimsum (not upset about this!!) Make sure to support this local mom and pop shop & don't forget to order the creamy drinks to enjoy your sandwich with!

A great stop if you need a quick meal or drink in the downtown area. The small spot operates through a window and the super nice worker manages to get orders out pretty quickly. I really like that you can choose what kind of bagel to use for your bagel sandwich. Wouldn't mind coming back to try their other drinks and sandwiches!

    Chicken Bánh Mì

A tiny little shop slinging breakfast sandwiches and Vietnamese sandwiches. Not a very big menu, which would be expected given the size. The veggies were fresh and the bread was high quality, but I've had better meat fillings at other bánh mì joints in town. Chicken Teriyaki Meatball Bánh Mì: I'm usually a fan of Vietnamese meatballs, whether on sandwiches or in phở, so had to give this a try. Their meatballs were kinda smaller than I'm used to. And they weren't exactly plentiful either. But what I did get was tasty. All the veggies were fresh too. The bread has a nice crusty crunch. And they were very generous with the mayo, so very rich. Combination Bánh Mì: I usually opt for the warm meats, but since I was getting a few sandwiches, figured I might as well try the classic combo. The steamed pork was very nice, kinda reminded of a similarly white/gray bratwurst. The headcheese was like a mild salami, though the texture was as bit squeaky. And the pâté added that rich iron taste. A unique mixture of flavors and textures. However, I still think I prefer the warm cooked meats more. Chicken Bánh Mì: I asked for pork as my third sandwich, but I was given chicken. So that was disappointing. The meat wasn't heavily marinated (compared to pork, which is usually quite marinated). It was like they kind just sliced from a roasted chicken. I mean it still tasted yummy with all the fresh veggies, mayo and bread. But I bet the pork would have been better.

Combination - Fully loaded Banh Mi! So tasty!!!

The best Banh Mi I've ever had. The first time I got a Bahn Mi from Cafe Dolce was back in 2019, and I'm so glad that this place survived from COVID. I had a chance to visit SF for a business trip in Dec. 2023, and I got 4 Bahn Mi while I was staying there (I couldn't get one Saturday morning since they close weekend). All Banh Mi were great, and I will definitely go back whenever I have a chance to visit SF again. The owner is also very kind and friendly, and I was surprised by that she remembers each returning customers' previous requests (like adding or not adding some ingredients). A great place!!!

Banh Mi - Combo - $8.25 (extra mayo)

WHEN: Thursday @12:30pm My boss has been raving about this place so one day I agreed to go with him. It's a tiny spot I recall walking by many times--like a food kiosks. So after you order, you step outside and wait. Here's what I had: BANH MI - COMBO - $8.25 This sandwich has all the cold meats with pickled stuff. No cucumbers though, which I had hoped to have. The pickled daikon was cut thick julienne style, which I was sceptic at first but it's actually not bad! I had asked for extra aioli in case this ended up being dry. Unfortunately it looks like mayo--not the kind of fatty spread that's more translucent. This was a straight up white mayo cream. Not a complaint! Just stating a personal preference. There was a good amount of pate and it wasn't until the ends of the sandwich that I taste the sweet soy-like sauce. Oh I had mine cute in half with no jalapeño peppers. I thought it was a very decent sandwich and a hefty one. Sure I may be used to paying $4 for a Banh mi, but I get it--it's downtown SF. If they share $4, this place would be our of business. I really appreciate the service and can see this mom and pops shop are great people. Little gestures like handing over things (receipt and credit cards) with both hands is a great gesture of respect showcasing Vietnamese mannerism. Go you!!! If you want to support local mom and pops shops for some reasonably priced food that's tasty, give this place a try! I know I'm coming back to try other things!

I've finally got myself to visit this quaint lil joint. I ordered #6 along with a Vietnamese iced coffee. Also, I noticed when I ate my sandwich they dropped a complimentary bag of Doritos! Vietnamese Iced Coffee: An in-between an iced coffee and milkshake/frappaccino. It was thicker than usual and definitely a dessert/treat type of drink (yummy but not for the health concious) #6 sandwich: packed with protein and flavorful Overall a hole in the wall spot worthy of visiting for a grab and go meal.

The Mocha with the house made nut milk fell flat. It needed something. I am not a fan of syrupy coffees and appreciate the more purist approach but this one just didn't do anything for me. The chai latte which I would never order was actually the best chai latte I have ever had, it was smooth like silk. Maybe I just had the wrong coffee order. Besides that, got the hot chocolate and the coffee tasting. I was surprised there was no explanation provided with the coffee- I figured it's all Honduran but an overview of some sort would have helped. I enjoyed all the coffees in there except the latte. Will visit again, earlier in the day so they are not out of their best sellers and try a different order.

I've…read moreheard this place has one of the best katsu sando around and as a lover of Katsu, I couldn't skip it. There's some good places in SF like Cafe Okawari. But Katsu is really becoming the new hype of the day for Japanese food, following the Sushi, Ramen, Japanese Curry, Katsu trend. So I came in with a critical view. I feel like Yoshoku in general may be next but I yet again digress. The box sandwich came in a cute little box. The inside was packed so I couldn't get a chance to fully appreciate the cafe, but the service was nice though the pay line may have moved slower than hoped. I'll say this. This is "the" best katsu sando in the bay. The katsu is crispy, but little on the softer side. But this hardness matches perfectly with the absolutely tender, soft, juicy pork wrapped inside. I'm looking at the menu again and it all makes sense. The pork has been in shio koji, making the meat ever so tender while adding the subtle but complicated marinated flavor. The cabbage is plenty, but not over packed to take away from the main Katsu flavor. What really perfects it for me, was not only the sweet and savory katsu sauce, but the mayo with dash of I think a karashi mustard. That slight tingle, the perfect kick gives a powerful awakening of flavor that really sets the it apart. This is art, an artisan. Culinary art is the refuge no raging rampant AI slop "art" can ever hope to touch. Until the day we get some cyborg implant to our brain into gustatory, olfactory functions. Even then, I don't think any tasteless tech bro are hopeless to create anything unique or beautiful.
