You can't get a better setting, on the marina. I ordered the snapper , it was excellent. My wife had the halibut, again very good. The only thing wrong with the restaurant is the prices on the wine list. We like Chardonnay. Ferrari Carrano $88 for a bottle is outrageous and Farniente Chardonnay $122 ,you gotta be kidding me Tuesday's are no corkage nights, so next time we will dine on a Tuesday. read more

The Cafe des Artistes is a fabulous gem tucked away in Jupiter, Florida, among many dining choices. BUT their service and attention to customer service really bumps them up from the crowd. The ambiance is romantic and relaxing. You can choose indoor or outdoor seating, our party of six sat outside. The views of the harbor were a lovely backdrop. Our server was awesome. She's charming and knowledgeable about all the meal preparation and gave us excellent advice! She was also immensely courteous and that's always a very welcoming asset. We all enjoyed our meals, My filet mignon was fabulous tender & served at the perfect temperature. Other people had the Chilean sea bass and two in our group had the snapper. We stopped in for a Valentine's Day lunch and enjoyed the lovely day at the outdoor seating area. They are open for lunch from 12-2. They do not take lunch reservations but when I called they suggested coming closer to 12 as they get busier around one. We are heading to France this year for the first time. We thought we would try some of their dishes to see what we have to look forward to. Everything we tasted was delicious and we look forward to seeing how it compares to the foods we sample in France. They offer a wide selection of wines and a few beers. This is a very popular place and seems to have a nice local clientele. Not touristy at all. Absolutely loved our entrees and will try others next. Duck l'orange is best I've ever had. Beef bourbon is ultimate comfort food and very large pieces of beef. A French restaurant waterside was a first for us. Our local friends took us to this restaurant, their favorite in town. The menu had many tempting items (though the prices are quite high). The service was excellent throughout. I started with their French onion soup which was excellent - exactly what I had hoped for. For my main I got the entrecôte which was delicious and done as ordered medium rare. The highlight were the frites - leave it to a French restaurant to be able to create them thin, crispy and perfectly fried. The best I have had in years! My wife raved about the salmon in beurre blanc with salmon caviar. The others got the duck and the dover sole and were ecstatic about their meals. We split an order of profiteroles which were tasty. The owner Dimitri advertised a June special on Facebook ($5 cheeseburgers, in writing). When I called to follow through on the promotion, there was no answer. No response on text or FB. Turns out they made a big promotion for June and then decided to suddenly leave on vacation. Nothing on their website and no removal of the promotion. But the day before they had a huge promotion for a $70 prime rib. This is clearly a bait and switch operation. In addition, the owner Dimitri is hostile on Facebook to people who don't agree with him. The management of this restaurant is completely arrogant and unprofessional. Unfortunately, despite the good food, I won't be back. There are many other options in Jupiter with owners who are truly pleased to have you. This one unfortunately doesn't care. read more

Café des Artistes has a nice setting by the water, and some of their dishes are great, while others are just so-so. However, we won't be going back. We joined a dozen or so friends there recently for a birthday celebration. Our hosts made reservations well in advance, and since we were a large party, we went at 5:30 pm to accommodate the restaurant owners. Within 10 minutes of everyone arriving, we were told we had to order immediately, that we had to order appetizers and entrées at the same time, and that we had to all go on one check and figure it out amongst ourselves. We consistently felt rushed because they were "fully booked" that night. Here's a thought - don't take more reservations than you can handle without treating diners like they're at a fast food restaurant. It really spoiled the night for everyone. Now for the food - for appetizers, my hubby and I had the Caprese (we make it better at home) and the Fois Gras (more like a pâté, very pricy, and not that great). For dinner, we split one of the specials - the Coq a Vin. This was delicious and the portion was generous. It was more than enough for both of us. I've also previously had the mussels here, and while they're pretty good, there are better mussels for a considerably lower price at other area restaurants. I will say that our waiter was phenomenal. We could tell he felt terrible about the way we were being rushed through, and he did his best to make our evening as nice as possible under the circumstances. Probably one of the best in the area. With anchovies. That's key! My husband got the steak with Roquefort cheese and frites. And I went with the half duck. I love Café de Artiste and have dined here many times. My complaint tonight is not with the service or the meal. Service was great and the meals were delicious. My wife loved her halibut dish. I ordered a daily special, which was a bouillabaisse. The bouillabaisse was good. However, when I received the check, I discovered the bouillabaisse was $85. I think anytime a restaurant charges $85 for a daily special, the waiter should advise the patron of the price. I have a bad taste in my mouth after tonight's dinner. We booked on Open Table. When my wife got there to be seated (I was parking) she asked for a table closest to the water. The Maitre D told her it was reserved for four people. Twenty minutes later they sat a twosome at that same table. Our food took forever to be served and my veal chop was more fat than meat. My wife's salmon was "swimming" in sauce and had a fishy smell. When leaving I advised the Maitre D of my issues, he not only didn't care, they "canceled" my Open Table booking so I couldn't write a review there. I had recently eaten here for lunch with a friend and was very impressed and wanted to return with my husband. It was a perfect night for outdoor dining. We were seated at a table for two with a beautiful view of the marina. The chairs for these tables were different, and not too comfortable, so we asked to switch them with other chairs and they graciously did that. It was so much better and we really appreciated it. My husband ordered a Pinot noir and I stuck with my favorite, water with lemon. We each ordered an appetizer, I was excited to enjoy the French onion soup, cooked perfectly and tasted just right, not too salty. My husband enjoyed the Caesar Salad, also said it was one of the best he has had. For our dinner entrees, I ordered the salmon and he ordered the rib eye. He never orders a rib eye, but took a chance. He still can't stop raving about how tender and delicious it was, along with the pomme frites, also hot and crispy. The good news is - the food is fantastic. I will never take that away from this eponymous French restaurant. However, the owner and server attitudes along with the less than welcoming birthday celebration experience, left my group of 15 "foodie" locals swearing we won't go back. With a 5:30 PM reservation and a pre-arrival call to request everyone be "on-time", our host was berated for asking about separate checks and told we needed to order "now" within 20 minutes of our timely arrival. Our server rushed through the specials while we silently debated whether to stay. It's hard to spend this much money for a special night out and feel so unappreciated. We are grateful for the escargot and snapper almondine , but we won't be recommending this spot to our friends (or all the strangers we will meet in the future) nor will we be going back. read more

This is nothing to do with the Covid B.S..that we hear every time someone is late or there is a mess up! Simply put they are oversubscribing hoping to jam as many customers into the evening as possible and at very high prices. This is a lovely little bistro, their description, in the middle of the Jupiter Yacht Club. There are tables indoors and outside, with a view of the yacht club and very large yachts. The attraction for me is that this is one of the few places we can visit by boat. There are some day-slips reserved for the restaurant which makes this a fun place to go, especially when bringing out-of-town guests. My husband and I arrived there in our little (21 ft.) boat-club boat. Comparing our boat to the huge yachts, we were like "an ant in an elephant parade" as we like to joke, but that's fine. We can enjoy the same waters and same restaurants as the "big dogs." We brought another couple with us, friends who have spent a great deal of time in France. We thought this would be a place they would enjoy. They did. She is a cook and has taken cooking classes in France. The menu can be a little pricey for our pocketbooks but we kept it simple with a light lunch, instead of dinner, and shared a bottle of wine, very typically French. We sat outside in the shade of the very generous umbrellas. The view is posh and relaxing. We had the Salmon and the Croque-Monsieur sandwiches, all of which were excellent. The wait staff was very attentive, the food was delicious and presented well. My friend, the cook, said it was the best Croque-Monsieur she has ever eaten! This is a little gem of a French Bistro. We eat there every week and also have lunch there. The setting is on the water overlooking the Jupiter Yacht Club. Sitting there one could easily imagine being in the south of France and at night the lights from the neighboring apartments twinkle. In addition to a wonderful menu, there are daily specials presented on a blackboard brought to the table. Highly recommended are the onion soup, assorted charcuterie, escargots, and Caesar salad for starters. The entrees are excellent especially the Cajun chicken, mussels and fries and great Dover sole. For vegetarians there is a vegetarian plate. I would be remiss if I failed to mention their lobster roll and fries. The roll is like no other I have tasted as the lobster must be poached because it is so sublime and not the typical roll laden with mayo and celery. Do not miss this treat! Desserts are equally good, especially the Napoleon and the Pavlova. Their cappuccino has a lovely flavor and should be enjoyed with dessert. The staff and tableside service is professional, attentive and friendly. In my opinion, this restaurant for me is perfection and one of my favorite in the area and not to be missed! read more

The two staff members standing by the tables ignored us until we asked if the restaurant was open. When we asked her to repeat them, the options were different. They cleared our plates when we were still chewing our food. I've been here for lunch and dinner. I've taken croissants and other pastries to go. I've brought family here. The food (and wine) on every visit have been wonderful. The giant bucket of mussels comes with what seems like a quart of white wine/garlic sauce that my table polished off completely with 2 loaves of french bread. On my last visit, we requested the mussels entree to be served as an appetizer for the entire table... it was well received.
