As someone who makes it a point to seek out all the French bakeries in every city I visit, from across the US to the heart of France, I don't say this lightly: Café Breizh has the best croissant I have had in the United States. The Traditional Croissant: This is a masterclass in lamination. The exterior has that perfect, shattering crispness, while the interior is airy, buttery, and boasts a beautiful honeycomb structure. It rivals anything I've found in Paris. If you are a purist, this is your destination. The croissant really stands on its own, no need for a coffee because it is not dry at all, no need for Nutella or jam. Excellent. The Pain au Chocolat: Interestingly, while the dough itself remains world-class, the execution of the Pain au Chocolat (the proper name for the chocolate croissant) didn't quite reach the same heights. The chocolate distribution was unfortunately wonky, with the batons poorly placed within the pastry. It felt like a bit of a disservice to such high-quality dough, as you didn't get that perfect balance of chocolate and flake in every bite. Despite the chocolate distribution issue, the technical skill behind their pastry work is undeniable. The service is also wonderful, keeping that authentic café feel alive on the West Side. Breizh means Britanny in the local dialect. It happens to be Crepe country. Try their buckwheat "galette", you won't be disappointed. read more

This was my first time visiting Café Breizh, and overall it was a pleasant experience. The space is clean, cozy, and comfortable. I initially ordered the Croque Monsieur, but unfortunately the salad that came with it wasn't very fresh. I asked the waitress if it could be replaced, and she was helpful and polite in addressing the issue. I then ordered the French breakfast, which comes with a basket of bread and a croissant. It was significantly better! The bread and croissant were freshly made ; I could truly taste the freshness, and they were still warm when served. I also ordered an oat milk latte, which was decent and paired nicely with the meal. The prices are very affordable, especially considering the quality. After finishing breakfast, I really wanted to try some of the pastries because they looked absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, I was too full to have any room left! We've been coming here since they opened nearly 10 years ago, before their expansion. They offer an array of items up to including baguettes, pastries, coffee, French breakfast items and my favorite the Parisian sandwich (my favorite). Located on Fort Apache between Spring Mountain and Twain inside a center, sometimes the front parking can get packed but it's a big lot just walk. It's a nice place to sit and enjoy a meal, try their Parisian sandwich, simple yet tasty and filling. They have great lattes and their dessert items are also worth trying. We grab some baguettes to go sometimes and eat it with our meals, the bill can get up there real fast but it's worth it. You can phone in orders for pickup up which is much more convenient than waiting, the line can get hectic and crowded easily. Great place for groups as the tables allow for easy connecting and easy spot to socialize with friends and neighbors. read more

Finally went for lunch instead of breakfast. I got the turkey and Brie sandwich. The baguette was nice and soft so it didn't crunch and cut up the roof of my mouth. The chutney(?) was so so good in the sandwich. It is a very simple and elegant sandwich that hit the spot. This place continues to deliver. read more

No service for like 10 minutes. We walked in noticing customers standing around in different areas. It was pretty confusing. Not sure if we had to order first or just wait to get seated then order. We were just standing there looking at their different items. All the staffs looked so busy. I tried to ask questions, but unable to. Finally, one male staff assisted. However, didn't help much. All he asked was if we wanted to dine in. We were then told to go to the other end to wait to get seated. The gal who seated us was awesome. Very nice and patient. Even gave us recommendations. We got the quiche mushroom & spinach that she recommended. It was their popular item. It was delicious. I would eat it again and again. We all enjoyed it. The flan was yummy. It wasn't that sweet. It was perfect, actually. The La tradition with Ham was pretty good. It looked funny, but the taste was serious. Seriously good lol I would order it again. The ham was not so salty. It blended great with the cheese they used. Skip on the drinks. We got a matcha latte and it was so milky. It was more like a faded green milk drink than a matcha. Literally no taste of matcha. The cap was not bad. Not the greatest, but decent. We also got the iced latte with half and half. The gal staff that brought it out looked so unhappy. Her face got even more unhappy when we told her that we wanted iced latte not hot. She started saying that it was our job to remind them that we wanted ice instead of hot..wth?? Cafe Breizh is such a gem. The blueberry muffin is by far the best muffin I've ever had--perfectly moist, packed with blueberries, and just the right amount of sweetness. The croissant was everything you want in a croissant: fluffy and airy on the inside with that perfectly crispy, buttery exterior. You can really taste the quality here. So many people have told me about this place and everyone is right when they say it's the best. Very authentic and items are always fresh. Expensive for sure but you taste the quality in each item. Wanted to try breakfast. The dining room is extremely small as this place is always busy. We ordered the French toast and yogurt parfait. I loved the French atmosphere as most of the wait staff was French and i believe that the owner was around engaging with the crowd. The had a wonderful selection of breads , French deli items like cheese, sauces, and cooking items and they have a window where you can watch the bakers at work! THIS PLACE CAN KICK ROCKS!!!! I am so mad. I don't know if you care about why I'm mad or not but this place has very good rating very few reviews other than a five star review so what are the chances that you're gonna get a terrible order? And not only that but multiple terrible things in your order.???? My sandwich must've been made by the person whose last day was today . I got the turkey chutney and brie sandwich which is a pretty hefty priced sandwich to begin with nearly $18.. The bread was very crispy and nearly unpleasant to bite into. It was so hard.. and I ate my first half while I was working doing work and was a little distracted, but I thought to myself I really didn't notice if there was any cheese in there I tasted like maybe one or two bites had cheese in it so I looked at the other half of my sandwich and there is literally one tiny piece of brie on half a sandwich. What. The. F*ck??? I'm going to say the danishes are a great size you're getting what you pay for if they're done . I got a cheese one and honestly, I hope I don't get sick from it being under done tomorrow. At least I think it's under done. That's the thing-I can't even tell. The top was done and it had your normal cheese, danish consistency, and the sides seem to be done but the middle and bottom was runny like a yogurt or pudding texture, almost. It had good flavor, but I just didn't feel comfortable with a consistency, considering the top and the sides felt like they were cooked all the way through and this is a thick pastry. The top is crunchy and overdone, and the bottom is nice and flaky. So I didn't eat the entire danish because I didn't know if it was safe or not to eat so most of that went to waste. I also had a pear danish. That tasted like it had a canned pear, half and again same thing with the pastry. It was very crunchy and overdone on the top and almost uncomfortable to eat like you were gonna poke the roof of your mouth so I ended up ripping off the top layer of the pastry basically and just eating the sides and bottom and it was decent, but that pear left something to be desired. It did not taste like a fresh pear. I'm very disappointed in my experience and I don't know if I will be willing to give this place a second try because honestly with a tip I spent $56 and even at the half the price it was a total rip off, so paying $56 for three crappy things...no thanks. read more

First the pastries looks so yummy!!!! And they TASTE yummy. Been coming here for years now i would say since day 1 they opened. The store has updated the interior and expanded, even improved the outdoor sitting. Ive tried pastries, chocolate ganache cake their crepes. And everything is good thats why we keep coming back, everything is always fresh which i love. I wish they will add better coffee selection to pair with their awesome pastries and bites they have to offer. I also like the chefs that make their crepes wearing apron, you also can see how they make the crepes but with the new set up i think they removed that. The service was great, I wish I got the names of the two servers because their service was excellent, observant, and very friendly. The Pear Danish - very buttery and flakey and the pear was soft and sweet. I would definitely get this again. I forgot the name of the chocolate cake but I did enjoy the chocolate moose and the hazelnut that was inside the cake. The chocolate on the outside was just a bit too sweet for me. La Tartiflette was delicious, another dish I would definitely get again. I liked how the prosciutto was not salty and every ingredient went well together. We came here to dine in, the food was good, service was decent. I ordered a croissant with egg and cheese, my daughter ordered a chocolate croissant, we also had 2 bottles of a sparkling water. What was disappointing is that, after we finished our food and payed for it, we walked to the front to get a few things to go. A long story short, I asked for a cup of ice to go for my leftover sparking water and the young lady charged me $.75! The problem isn't the charge, it's principle. I said we just had a breakfast here...She said we charge for ice. Plus she scooped the ice with the cup she served it in. I am sorry but you just touched the cup with your hands and put the cup in the ice to scoop some. Normally people use an Ice scoop. The cup was not even full. Besides the fabulous baked goods they do sell some grocery and do offer a cafe. They do have wait service and you can order breakfast, salads, French Galettes, hot and cold sandwiches, crepes, and platters. I tried the Smoked Salmon Platter. It was unique and reasonably good. It came with tasty brioche toast, crisp cucumber slices, sweet tomatoes, with onions, capers, and, a creamy chive cream. my husband wanted to order a croque madame but they were sold out of them so he went with a galette. We didn't know that galettes here are not the same as American galettes with crust (and there is no mention of that on the menu either). A galette here is a buckwheat crepe. Unfortunately my husband is allergic to buckwheat so it was a problem dining here. He avoided most of the buckwheat on his plate but could feel buckwheat in the air here. We did try dessert and tried the lemon tart and the brownie. Somehow they accidentally charged me for a Napoleon instead of a tart. But both of the desserts were spectacular and were much better than what you can get at most of the casino restaurants. 5 STARS for the bakery. 4 stars for the cafe. 4.5 stars But I note that if you are sensitive to buckwheat you should not order galettes here and should do takeout. read more

A dramatic BEWARE: My little sister ordered a chocolate cake here for our moms day which is a larger version of their smaller chocolate cake. Anyone who has tried this cake knows how good it is. Its similar to cheesecake factory's linda's fudge cake. Its our favorite and my moms. On her birthday we all ate the cake and to our surprise it did not include the wafer parts which in our opinion is what makes the chocolate cake really good instead of just good. We called the bakery and they said they dont make the large version with the wafer bits/crunchy part and didnt say why. Sounds so dramatic and entitled but when you order a specific dessert expecting it to taste what you know it usually tastes like it's disappointing. The cake is also $50. If we had known this we wouldn't have ordered it and just a bunch of the smaller ones. read more

Okay, guys- cafe breizh is THE Parisian spot to hit up. The raisin danish is out of this world, and definitely the best I ever had. Also, highly recommend the galette - we ordered the vegetable one, and it was very tasty. The almond croissant was great, and you really can't go wrong with any of the options here. Love the window looking out back where you can see the pastry chefs at work making fresh AF pastries. The coffee/espresso drinks are on point. Very authentic french spot, owners there speak french and are very nice, their menu is very authentic and delicious as well they sell variety of items imported from France such as butter, fruit nectars, sparkling water, and more ! As a french gal i definitely approve! I came in and ordered my usual matcha latte and chocolate croissant, the chocolate croissant was very delicious however i wasn't not a fan of the matcha latte. It was over powdery (matcha and milk ratio was way off) and didn't end up drinking it but that's okay because i will still be coming back and just try something else off their menu. I also came back later in the day after running my errands and bought goodies for my home ! I got the salted Beurre D'Isigny (Made in Normandy, France) which is salted butter, very delicious and is a must! I also grabbed more pastries and a french baguette and everything was very authentic and delicious! Despite not liking their matcha latte everything else was on point. However the younger "goth" girl that works behind the counter doesn't seem very enthusiastic.. you ask her a question she responds with blanks "yea.." as the answers and nothing else.. that doesn't seem very energetic to work with customer service.
