I'm giving them 3 stars because my chicken plate was absolutely horrible. The chicken was burnt to the point of not being edible unless you chew it a hundred times, my pita bread was literally a cracker it was that dry. Yet the chicken plate that my boyfriend had was perfectly fine. He did not believe me until he tried my plate and realized how bad it was. The food is just ok here but certainly not worth waiting for. There were 2 registers open but when my turn to order came up, the one dude disappeared and the other took 3 to go orders, which were behind me, and a phone order without even acknowledging I was there. I'm not a fan of Mediterranean food until I ate here. I read good reviews about it here and decided to give it a try with a friend for lunch. The food is cheap and delicious! For $6.00 you can get an entree with rice and 2 sides. You can substitute rice for shiraz salad. There's a list of 2 sides you can select from. I ordered a lule kabob lunch combo with hummus and yogurt with spinach as my sides. My friend ordered the chicken breast combo with the same sides. He used to live in Afghan and thinks the food here is very authentic. The hummus is very good and tastes like homemade. The yogurt with spinach mixed into the rice is so delicious. I LOVE this place. I work close so I end up eating there quite a lot. You get tons of food and the prices are great. Not to mention, the meat and chicken melt in your mouth and the hummus is the best I have ever had. This place is amazing. A few months ago, I was first in line before they even opened, because I wanted to get in and get out asap. Unfortunately, the cook made my order first, but one of the "confused" cashiers actually gave my order to another customer. When his mistake was discovered, I was upset, because I had to wait longer. However, I did not get any apologies for my inconvenience. They acted cool and matter of fact, told the cook to re-cook the food that they had given to someone else, without any thought about my having to wait longer, because of their screw up! The cook was actually upset about the mix up, because it made him look bad. Not really, I knew who messed up, but that guy did not even acknowledge his mistake to either the cook or to me, he just kept speaking in a different language to another cashier. I was quite upset at their poor customer service, so I complained to the manager, who said "I'm sorry" finally as I was yelling at him. There are many choices for middle-eastern food, so I will never again patronize Cafe Bravo. I have read many reviews about this particular place messing up on orders, then it happened to me too. I LOVE the food at Cafe Bravo. My family and I always order from Cafe Bravo. The kabobs are the best I have ever had and the service is among the best in town. It is quite difficult to find a good place nowadays, where the quality and price are the best. I always have lunch at Cafe Bravo. Cafe Bravo is always a good place for affordable kabobs and sides. Parking is sometimes difficult and you want to sit inside the restaurant because their outside "patio" is a wind-tunnel. Still, one of the best kabob places for lunch in Glendale. read more

Shawarma was DRY and BURNT don't know why they put it on the grill to burn. We waited 40 minutes for really bad food. The chicken was good but not worth the wait. Was told about this from a friend to try it out, and last week i finally did,and it wasnt dissapointing at all, the beef kabob was excellent , and the rice was hot and fluffy, had hummus and grape leaves with it too which were good but not great. Great place for take out kabobs. My Dad has a medical condition that limits what he can eat. The staff there always treat my dad really well and give him extra salad so that he can enjoy the grilled chicken without feeling deprived of sides. Today we order koobideh sandwich. First of all it takes us 10 minutes to get a hold of them. Then they said it takes 20 minutes we were waiting for 40 minutes. Food is quite tasty and reasonable. One tip, call in your order ahead of time so the wait is not too long, but make sure the older lady who takes the orders repeats your order. This is a hidden gem in a nightmare intersection of KFC, Carl Jr & Jack in the Box. Thrilled to discover this delicious kabab joint so close and easy! And the new, larger place (right next to the old place) makes it easier and faster to get in and get our food. I like the Cornish Hen plate, while my wife and kids prefer the chicken plate, but we all agree the yogurt & spinach side is delicious. If I were rating the food only it would be 5 stars, but the service here is so impossibly slow, it merits a 2-star downgrade. Sometimes they tell you 15 minutes and it takes 45. Sometimes you give them 45 minutes even when they tell you 15, only to show up and find they lost your order. What's baffling about it is that they always seem to have so many people behind the counter, most of whom look pretty unsure about what they are supposed to do next. The food is outstanding! Honestly loved everything especially the lamb chops! I'd rate it a solid 5 stars for food, but the day I went (last Sunday). The place was filthy. Every table was dirty and so was the floor. No one cleaned the tables or floor for the entire duration we were there (rom ordering our food to eating it). I just moved to glendale (from pasadena) and have been looking to my fellow yelpers for cheap & cheerful new restaurants. there were so many rave reviews about cafe bravo-- that I just HAD to try it. turns out-- it's literally right down the street from me-- and I am SO glad it is !! I tried the kabob plate w/ 1 beef & 1 chix kabob. both were very moist and delicious. it comes with rice or salad and 2 sides. the vast majority of yelpers said the hummus & yogurt spinach dip are great-- so I tried those. The hummus is about the best I've tried (better then zankou) and the yogurt spinach dip was AMAZING. I also asked for the garlic sauce and it was creamy and not overpoweringly garlicky-- just perfect (and better then zankou). Also-- if you just want a chicken kabob (which is 5 big chucks of wonderfully marinated chix breast with a warm pita) it will only set you back $2.80 !! imagine-- a delicious lighter meal/ snack for under $3 -- BRAVO !!
