I'm surprised that I hadn't written a review for Bliss a long time ago. I eat lunch here regularly, to the point that they recognize me. So far everything I've eated has been good. Usually I have one of the wraps. Highly recommend as the food is good and an excellent value. Also they are often open when other places are closed, such as bank holidays. read more

Three words: All. Day. Breakfast. I'm a sucker for breakfast food, even at 4pm, so when I walked by and saw the sign saying all day breakfast, they had me! Friendly and quick service, good coffee, a wide selection for both breakfast and lunch (I did actually look at the other menus, but when there is breakfast..), very reasonable prices, and a nice, calm environment (and reprieve from the cold). Great little quiet restaurant steps away from our hotel and the crowds. I enjoy eating food from different cultures and it's nice getting food with great flavor instead of bland food. The waitress is also great and very friendly. She listens and provides recommendations as to your preference. When I return I will make sure to stop in and grab a bite! PS - don't bother with the pub food - take a leap and order a curry or noodle/rice dish! Those are so much better with won flavor and heat! read more

A nice place for lunch. At lunchtime you get a complimentary piece of garlic bread per person when to sit down, this always pleases me. Not sure if you get the same treatment at dinner time. I always order the Mexican beef chilli wrap, its very tasty. I like the wraps they use and its baked / toasted perfectly. The chips are grand and I love the sauces they give you. At 8.95 EUR for this dish, its great value for money as the portion is massive. The staff are friendly and efficient. I am indeed a fan . read more

Is it overly mean to simply say I miss the Montague? probably... (and for those of you who cant remember the Montague was the restaurant that previously inhabited the premises). Leaving that aside Cafe bliss is grand for a quick bite before a night on the town, the food is always good if a little heavy and it is good value. read more

Heard wonderful things about Cafe Bliss, so decided to pop along this weekend. Pros: It's super cheap. One of the best value dinners I've ever had in Dublin, with decent quality. The early bird is €9.95 for starter, main plus tea and coffee and the portion sizes are huge. It's also BYOW - and I specify wine. Apparently they allowed beer etc. before Christmas but due to anti social behaviour and an ''incident'' or two, they had to stop. A bit worrying, but I like wine with my dins so this suits me just fine. Cons: While I couldn't fault the food or the price, the service was rubbish, the waitress was rude and the atmosphere was lacking. And really, isn't that a huge part of the reason you go out to eat rather than staying in? Well, for most people - for me it's really just cuz I'm a bit crap in the kitchen! read more

You can't go past Cafe Bliss' Earlybird dinner special - 9.95 for 2 courses and a coffee/tea. Brilliant! The food is good stuff too, it's filling and very good grub. For starters my friend and I shared samosas and lamb skewers, both of which were nice (but the samosas were more spring roll-y than anything else!) The waitresses practically took our entree plates from under us while we were still eating to allow the delivery of our mains. The fish and chips was hearty and a little on the heavy side (as per the usual fish and chips in Ireland). Our other main was the Malaysian Chicken, which was a real winner and definitely one to try again. Also on the earlybird menu are some great looking wraps and salads. The service is brisk but friendly enough, the food is pretty darn good, the cafe is cute and the price is right! All in all a good experience. P.S. If, like my friend, you're a fan of the Garda, note that a few of the gards take their breaks here, so make sure you're in the area if you're looking for a hot date with a man in uniform. read more

How a full Jumbo breakfast can come out 15 minutes before a soup, I'll never know. In saying that. They do put enough food on your plate to feed you. That's a good thing. Owner sounds nice and so does the Brazilian girl. As I said. Coordination with food timing was an issue. If that was fixed, then I'd give 5 stars. Looks nice, and it's kind of tucked away. So if you are looking for food, away from the notice of traffic, try here. If I was them, I'd turn the music down, as it sounded like a nightclub. read more

This is one of my ultimate favourite places in the city... I have been coming here for a few years now... Food is good quality and great value at any time of the day (breakfast, brunch, lunch, early bird and dinner)... Staff are welcoming and always have a smile on their faces... Menu: From Eggs Benedict, to the amazing (and hungover cure) Bliss Brunch wrap to the Mexican wrap or the Chicken Cajun wrap with delicious red pepper mayonnaise (one of my favourites) for your brunch. Steak enchiladas (yum!), Chicken curry or simply the teriyaki steak with chips for dinner; you will always find something nice to eat. Oh! Almost forgot... You can BYOB and they won't charge you corkage... sweet! I like this little bistro! It's a good spot for a decent lunch downtown that won't break the bank, and the menu has options for most tastes. I like the atmosphere too, it's a small place that feels cozy, rather than cramped, and the servers never have that "please get out" attitude that I've found at many of the crowded spots in Dublin. If there's one drawback, it's that the food is a touch on the heavy side. My Chicken Caesar salad came with double the normal amount of dressing and a couple of slabs of bacon nicely arranged on top, and the dressing itself was more mayo than anything else. But it was tasty, and next time I'll just have it without the bacon. Bottomg Line: go, grab a bite, ask for the dressing on the side... read more

It's almost 1pm, I've only just succeeded in dragging my sorry booze soaked carcass from my room, and I fear I may die from the fear - but I'm confident it will soon be OK cause I've just moaned my housemate into bringing me to Bliss for brunch - my very favourite meal of the week. And I know they'll mind me and sympathise with me there - not to mention serve huge portions to aid with soakage,. Once I've wolfed down my ratatouille wrap and super crispy chips I'll be good to face my day! The staff here are probably the nicest in Dublin, chatty and attentive but not overbearing, and the food is consistently good - hearty and tasty. I'm a big fan of this place ever since I stumbled on it with my friend and got dinner with wine for a princely sum of €34 between us! Also they do some really good light bites - like muesli with fresh fruit and yogurt, and fresh smoothies or eggs Benedict. All of it yum-yum-yum! read more

Had brunch in here yesterday after hearing lots of good stuff about it. Came out with a little bit of a mixed view. The Good: - The food is excellent value - 6 euro for eggs Benedict - Great big servings, good honest food - Friendly service - Lots of newspapers and mags to peruse over the breakfast - It's got a slightly funky but still greasy spoon casual edge to it. No airs and graces but what you see is what you get The Not So Good: - Unfortunately what I saw was a lot of tables that weren't cleared the entire time we were sitting there. It's a little off-putting to be sitting for an hour in a restaurant / cafe and not have a single table around you cleared. We were so surrounded by dirty dishes, I felt like I was in my own kitchen :-) - My eggs Benedict came on a bagel instead of the usual breakfast muffin. I wasn't super keen as it tasted a little sweet and didn't go with the rest of the food - There seemed to be only one guy serving the entire place, so although he was friendly, service was a bit haphazard and slow At the end of the day, it's cheap and cheerful and does exactly what it says on the tin, so I will no doubt be back. read more

Might be finding it hard to compete with all the other good stuff around the area these days though... The food is average to good. Service is great though so gets 4 stars for that. Great little spot for lunch, food was reasonably priced and tasted fresh and homemade. I had the chicken curry which was actually better than I expected - absolutely delicious. My companion had the chicken tikka salad and was also very impressed. The staff were also very friendly and attentive, not overbearing but still very welcoming. Ok so it might not exactly be "bliss" to eat there, but it definitely is very good! The cafe is tucked away in a side street off Wexford Street and unless you know where you're going, or you're exploring the area, you probably won't stumble across it. I walked in there when I had REALLY had my mind set on a nice burger from Bobo's but they were closed (don't ask me why, it was 3 pm on a Sunday and the sign in the window at Bobo's said "Open 7 days a week now"). The cafe is cute and cosy, and the waiter was very welcoming. The menu is unpretentious just like the place itself, but has enough good choices to make it hard to pick. I had the Ratatouille wrap which came with (a lot of) chips and a crisp +colorful little side salad and I was very pleasantly surprised: it was really savoury and tasty! I watched the other plates they brought out and realised that pretty much everyone seems to order wraps at Cafe Bliss! For a big plate of really tasty and fresh food, plus a coke, I paid just 10€, which I thought was excellent value for money. I'll definitely go back to try the other famous wraps. read more

*This review is for the breakfast only.* Cafe Bliss is a nice little cafe with good food at a great price. Although the interior is decorated somewhat strangely (especially in the back room), there is a cozy atmosphere and the servers are very friendly. They have a nice variety of menu options with classic Irish breakfasts as well as more unique variations. In addition to the normal beverage offerings like coffee and tea they also have some green juices for a reasonable price (I believe around €4). The breakfasts are cheaper and just as good as most of the other cafes around. I would definitely recommend paying a visit to Cafe Bliss while you're in Dublin! read more

What can you say really it's €8.95 for steak and chips and it's BYOB beer, spirits and wine. You're not going for the food and if you are you aren't setting your standards very high. It's edible and it's a good place to predrink. The male toilet is an amazing feat of engineering so it's worth a look! read more

All-day breakfast? Check. Solid lunch menu? Check. Good, fresh food? Check! We only stumbled into Café Bliss because the location was handy but we sure won't have been here for the last time. My goats cheese wrap was delicious and massive with really crisp, fresh salad and lovely chunky fries (I couldn't even finish it), the Jungle Juice was just the right pineapple/orange/strawberry mix to not be too sweet and even the sauces and condiments are homemade. The place is a bit small so I probably wouldn't linger but for a quick and really filling lunch or breakfast it's just right. read more

Wonderful! Found this place by accident but was pleasantly surprised how good the food was. Had lamb curry with rice and the curry was perfect! Another Saturday afternoon in town, another casual coffee. Great little spot. Definitely very casual and quiet. Coffee was delish and the staff/manager friendly. He had to clean our table in front of us, which was a little off putting but at least he cleaned it for us, happy out LOL. Prices are fair and they take a card, which was a life saver! This place is great for breakfast - It uses decent quality ingredients (compared to the greasy spoon next door) and still offers breakfast with coffee for less than a fiver. Lots of other breakfast options as well for decent prices (eggs Benedict, omelettes, french toast etc). Morning Gym bunnies can get a low carb steak and eggs cheap as well if they want (yes, for breakfast!). The service is good, seats are comfy and the food is good and reasonably priced. read more

Enjoy Bliss. the prices are excellent for the quality food. I got the Malyasian chicken last time- did not know what to expect. HUGE portion and it was super tasty. My boyfriend got the Piri piri pasta- flavor was gorgeous. We also had the ferrero roche cheesecake for dessert. Super tasty! The server/owner/manger (not sure) was extremly friendly. We have been several times and enjoyed it every time. I am not a huge fan of the interior of the restaurant but food is Good! We will be back! read more

Great place for cheap early evening grub (early bird = starter, main and tea/coffee for 9.95) - starters are small but tasty - I had veg rolls, a whole range of wraps for main course. As well as garda (in previous post) the waiter has the most enormous biceps I have ever seen, which made for nice viewing while he served. This place was the worst restaurant I have ever been in. A pathetic excuse for a place. Booked a table for 10 people and got an amalgamation of tiny tables and SIX seats. Stood around for twenty minutes until they brought chairs to us to sit on, and waited another ten minutes for them to give us wine glasses. We complained several times about the quality of the table and the farcical seating arrangement and were met with nothing but dirty looks from the horrible waitress. A table next to us was celebrating a birthday and were treating the place like a nightclub, screaming and standing around instead of sitting at their table, and the staff just walked around them and said nothing as if it was totally normal. We thought that perhaps the food being so cheap would make up for the situation, but we soon realized it was cheap for a reason. The steak tasted as if it had just come out of the freezer after a long vacation. All the meat tasted as if it had been fried in teriyaki to dull its poor quality. Even the salad was awful, which had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. One of our party was a designated driver and attempted to bring in a bottle of Coke, and had it taken off him at the door. Another wasn't particularly hungry and attempted to order only a starter, and was bullied into ordering a main by the incredibly rude staff. Not one of us will ever be returning to this horrendous, tacky, ignorant restaurant ever again. And you shouldn't either. read more
