So many tempting options that choosing just one was no easy task! I asked our waitress, Daniela, for some recommendations, and she came through with plenty of great options. To start, I ordered the Pink Bellini, which was absolutely delicious. Daniela also gave me the inside scoop that their baked goods tend to sell FAST and shared what was still available. So, if you have your heart set on something specific from the bakery, my recommendation is to go early! I ordered the Monkey Bread and, knowing I wanted to savor it later at home, wisely asked for a box to go. For my entrée, I went with the Smoked Salmon Benedict, and wow! So flavorful! The poached eggs were right on point, and all the ingredients came together beautifully with the side of mustard sauce. As for the service, they truly went above and beyond. To start, upon entering you feel like being in Europe in a small cafe. Very cozy and friendly environment. I ordered the French Toast Cappuccino--with a very nice French toast bite. Its small bite appearance was delicious, yet it had no glamorous flavor. I decided to go with Frank's Famous Hash, which was well-defined and made to perfection--tender, not hard, and well-seasoned with a beautiful golden-brown finish. The meat was tender, yet a bit off with no seasoning (salt). The peppers and onions added a sweet flavor that helped make up for the missed seasoning on the meat. I ordered an egg over medium with the main dish, and it was stupendous! It was perfectly placed over the meat, potatoes, peppers, and onions. The slices of avocado were superb and made for a great combination with the entire dish, especially for protein lovers! Highly recommend! I also got the Nutella Croissant. The appearance was just as good as its taste, blasted with rich, creamy Nutella chocolate--truly mouthwatering and a must-have. As for the service, they were extremely attentive. Our waitress, Daniela, was on point from the moment we arrived to the last detail as we walked outside. She offered a vast variety of options and her very own personal recommendations. There's something so calming about walking into Café Bastille right when they open at 8 am. The streets are still quiet, and the whole place has this easygoing, pura vida kind of feel that makes for a really peaceful start to the morning. I came for the Yelp Elite experience, so a big thank you for having me! Service was awesome. My waitress was so nice and friendly and made the visit feel welcoming from the start. The coffee was good, and I really appreciated a small detail: they share a description of where their water is sourced. It's a thoughtful touch you don't see often, and I liked knowing what I was drinking. I immediately liked this place. I'm pretty sure it's because their green is pretty much the same color as my house so I felt at home. Speaking of, I need to ask them about their wallpaper and where they got their umbrellas. The umbrellas do a lot of heavy lifting when it came to creating a cozy, friendly atmosphere outside. I always thought it was weird to want to sit outside when all you are sitting next to is a busy street but it wasn't bad here because of those incredible umbrellas. Cafe Bastille was pretty busy for a Monday afternoon and the music was loud but not overbearing. I provided pictures of the menu and of course everything that came out of the kitchen looked amazing. We visited the downtown location previously and loved it so much that we had to make our way to this location too--and it did not disappoint. I ordered the Pistachio Pancakes again, and they were just as amazing as I remembered. My husband went with the Famous Scramble, which was equally delicious. Went on a Sunday at 11:30 and there was no wait. Had the burrito and it was tasty even though I was unsure since the wrap was a crepe. Prefer a tortilla but it was still good. Bacon was crispy. After a long flight and being hungry for hours, this was the very first place we came to right after checking into our hotel. Our server Daniela was incredibly attentive and caring because my blood sugar had dropped when I arrived and I honestly wasn't feeling well. She immediately helped me, took my order quickly, and brought me water right away. I'm truly very grateful to her for that. She was so warm and kind, and the service was wonderful. It made us so happy that our very first meal in Miami turned into such a lovely experience. I especially want to thank Daniela again here. My breakfast was absolutely delicious. It included bread, halloumi cheese, eggs, tomatoes, and an amazing yogurt sauce. The yogurt sauce was especially outstanding. Every single ingredient tasted incredibly fresh and flavorful -- even the tomatoes were delicious. I think it makes a huge difference when even simple ingredients are carefully selected with quality in mind. My husband had the avocado sandwich and loved it as well. Afterwards, we also tried a crème brûlée croissant dessert. I personally only took one bite and it wasn't really my favorite, but aside from that, everything else was excellent. I had heard a lot about this cafe, and it was conveniently located near our hotel. It was raining on the day we visited, so we couldn't enjoy the patio seating. Inside, there were only a few tables available, and the wait time was around 30 - 40 minutes. While waiting, they have a waiting lounge cafe right next door where you can grab coffee, but we decided to wait and enjoy ours with the meal I much prefer coffee served in a mug rather than a to-go cup. Once we were seated, we were warmly welcomed. I ordered the Turkish eggs, which were absolutely delicious and definitely the highlight of the meal. The coffee was decent not bad, but not exceptional either. The Turkish eggs really stood out, served with a great bagel style bread and a nice side of olives and cucumber (though I wish there had been more olives!). We sat down, opened the menu, and saw an item labeled "Israeli Breakfast." We immediately got up and left. What bothered us wasn't simply seeing the word "Israeli." It was seeing foods with deep roots across Palestinian, Levantine, and broader Arab culinary traditions presented under a national label that, to us, erases where much of that food and culinary heritage comes from. This was a great breakfast spot. It was a bit noisy inside with patrons but we got seated quickly and had a friendly server. I ordered the Chai Latte and my friend ordered a coffee. I got the Israeli breakfast with smoked salmon while my friend got their Pistachio Pancakes. With the bagel, I created a breakfast sandwich adding the feta, halloumi, avocado, egg, and salmon on top. On my short day trip to Miami brunch was a MUST for me. Although there are many brunch options in Miami Beach something about Cafe Bastille sold my friends and I before we even got there. It was a really hot day but the only available seating was outdoors and the servers were kind enough to accommodate us inside the restaurant the minute a spot had opened up. To start off the inside of this place is so adorable and makes you feel like you're in a vintage upscale diner. Our server Vanessa went above and beyond with taking care of us and gave us some awesome recommendations. She recommended the sangria for the table which was perfect, from flavor to size, it all hit the mark! For food I had the country ham eggs benedict and I am so happy my phone ate first because I licked this plate CLEAN it was that good! The restaurant is on the main road so it is a very active spot and you may run into a few homeless people. We were sat by the window and had a bit of an interaction with someone trying to talk to us from the outside but the restaurant handled it smoothly and swiftly. At the end they gave us a complimentary Croissant cookie and it was delicious. I loved my experience here and will definitely be coming back the next time im in town. read more
