Phenomenal food at SFMOMA! Delicious flavors in the food, plenty of seating at the cafe, and attentive staff always around. Our meals were fantastic, and we will definitely grab a meal here again the next time we visit the museum.

I eat lunch here frequently because I visit SFMOMA frequently. I've always found the food and ambiance to be excellent but my lunch there a couple days ago was so outstanding that I finally had to post. Their Basil Panzanella salad was only $20 but easily a 6-star entree! It had one ingredient that I loathe--zucchini, but the chef managed to make even that taste great via grilling and seasoning. The tea and dessert were also excellent, but it was that salad that I hope to see again on their menu!

A great place to enjoy wholesome dishes, very well prepared, as well as beverages, while overlooking an outdoor patio (we were there in December rain). We both had the excellent vegetable quiche. I had some Cabernet, while wifey did the fancy tea. Service is efficient and the environment lends itself to both art and people watching - definitely an alternative to going to lunch elsewhere. Highly recommended!

I went to SF MoMA for the day and forgot to eat and thought I would have to hurry through the exhibits to get some food but when I stumbled upon this cafe I was excited. Checking out the menu I took a chance with my fav sandwich and tried a little of everything. The presentation was great, the food was quality and the drink was good too! Usually cafes like this are just so-so, but I was pleasantly surprised for what I got and the price. All this together was about $40 and for the city, that's quite a steal. They also have a children's menu, however, I didn't get a chance to view it. Thought it would look odd considering I was not with any children lol. Overall, you can LITERALLY spend the whole day at this place and that made me so happy! I spent 5 hours at the museum and I didn't even get to see everything.

It's very difficult to enjoy a lunch here with multiple pigeons wandering, and in some cases even flying around the inside seating area. I witnessed no employees make any effort to eradicate them from the premises which was quite perturbing. We couldn't finish our meal in their presence so unfortunately had to leave. Food was ok, but of course pricey for what you are getting.

Making food tasteless must be a superpower. This was one of the worst food I ever had in my life that costs $19. With some grass and a little piece of tasteless quiche, I would say the total for the overall ingredient is about $4. If it wasn't for the energy to see more art, I wouldn't eat any air at SFMOMA. I will better stuff myself before entering this museum next time for another great exhibition. Hope you see this review and thank me later. :)

I love the setting and the convenience of this cafe. However the food was just okay. Kids loved the black bean soup so that was the saving grace. It was pricey thought $10 a bowl. The dinner roll that come with is like the one you get on the airplane. Not good. I got the little gem salad and added chicken and also asked for bread. The chicken was delicious. Salad was bland. Bread was the same as the soup so not good and I paid $1 for it. ;-(. We also got the kids pizza. Kids even said it was not good. Don't get it. Overall, overpriced but convenient if you are visiting moma. I did like the outdoor setting and the staff was nice. Food was just okay.

Great little place to enjoy within the museum. I always need a coffee and I'm glad that they opened up in the old Blue Bottle Cafe of the past (pre- renovation of the museum). It's a perfect spot with outdoor seating amongst sculptures. The menu was lovely although we only opted to share a phenomenal Ham & Cheese Croissant. I wasn't too impressed with the latte but the ambiance made up for it. I look forward to enjoying this cafe on my SFMOMA visits.

nothing too special, matcha layer cake was flavorless and white chocolate overpowering. kale caesar was defo not a caesar and had no dressing and was so overly bitter. the cheesecake was fine. saving grace was their gorgeous presentation and amazing service. everyone was so kind and the environment is great will keep coming back despite mid food

Solid restaurant within Moma offering fairly healthy options to share. Located on the 5th floor you can opt in to be seated at one of their indoor tables or one of the tables outside near the sculpture garden. I love how they have large windows & keep a portion of it open so you can walk freely between the two. How it works: 1) Check in at the front to grab menus 2) Grab a table indoors or outdoors 3) Once you decide on location get in line to order food at the front & grab a number 4) They will bring the food to your table once ready Water & utensils are self-serve near the large windows. We ended up getting the pork sandwich to share. $17 isn't the cheapest thing but considering that it's inside of Moma it's comparable to SF prices and was able to be shared between two people. The sandwich itself was pretty tasty. The pork was seasoned well and the meat was tender. We got the coleslaw on the side so it didn't get the bread soggy and they add a pickle slice/side of mustard that you can add on yourself.

Almond croissant, iced latte, and love
    Madi H.

The perfect place to get the perfect almond croissant and iced latte on a perfect, sunny San Francisco day. I've been a few times, every time I visit SF, and it just always brings me joy. I love going to art museums by myself, and love even more to sit on the roof/patio with my Cafe 5 goodies heading everyone rave about the art.

Soup of the day. Potato leek with broccoli
    Rebecca C.

Solid museum cafe with great food. The potato leek soup with broccoli was excellent - heart and soul warming on a cold San Francisco day. Smoked trout salad was solid - flavorful trout. Great ingredients. The lamb meatballs were so so. I really like the sauce but the meatballs weren't very moist and the flavor of the sauce didn't seep into the meat that much. Great place for a laid back sit down lunch.

We went there for a lunch meeting on Monday just before 13:00. I was afraid that they might be very crowded but it was about 80% full, very organized, fairly quiet and just overall wonderful atmosphere. It's "order at the counter" service but the serving staff is very attentive and nice. And the food! I had a salmon with wild rice salad, and it was delicious. The antipasto plate was excellent too. Reasonable price for the setting, location and food. Don't forget to appreciate the Heath Ceramics dinnerware. Just a pleasing experience altogether. This is how a museum restaurant should be. I will return!!

I got the strawberry matcha and the seasonal lavender matcha. Both drinks were bitter and tasted watered down. Default sweetness was not too sweet but the matcha didn't have the creaminess even with regular milk. Strawberry puree was good but not enough to carry the diluted matcha. The matcha cream pie was solid. Soft matcha filling with very crispy edge. Whipped cream on top was also tasty. Would not come back here for the matcha. Maybe their food is better. With matcha coming out that quick feels like it wasn't prepared well and lost its quality. Street parking here or parking garage next street over.

Staff was friendly and I appreciate that they were informative about the macchiato being different than how Starbucks does it. Our drinks were freshly made and ready in 5 mins. Size of the macchiato was definitely a lot smaller than I realized but the coffee was nice and bold. Both drinks allowed us to appreciate the pure coffee bean taste without being too bitter.
