This restaurant space had been closed for awhile and recently reopened as an Ecuadorian restaurant, so I decided to give it a try. I just tried a basic dish of grilled chicken with rice and beans, and it was really good (especially with the tasty sauces they give you). I'll definitely be back to try more of their food. Someone at another table had what looked like a seafood soup, so maybe I'll give that a try. Anyway, this is a nice place with really good food and definitely worth a try. read more

I was looking for a local breakfast spot and I came across this place. I called in my order and the lady that answered seemed to not be so happy it was Monday, for lack of better words lol. I ordered the short stack pancakes with a side of home fries and turkey bacon and she said it would take 15 minutes. When I arrived I parked nearby. I walked in and told the lady that I was there for a pick up and my name. She seemed to be rushed or overwhelmed. She said it would be $13.06 and I paid with my credit card and left. I was having a not so great start to my day and I really needed a good experience for breakfast to boost my mood, so based on the great ratings I came here and ordered the eggs Benedict, which is like the Cadillac of breakfast sandwiches, not an entirely easy task for a grillemaster, and they made a sandwich worthy of the name. The eggs were perfectly done, the Canadian bacon was there at every bite, the hollandaise sauce was actually very tasty (many get this part wrong but not here), and to cap it off, there's really great home fried potatoes with bits of onion and red bell pepper. Very meh. This is a 2.5 star review really. The service is meh and the food is too. When I first ordered from here back when I was new to town, I thought I'd found something. Not far from where I live and the waffle sandwich was quite good. Waffle was a little lighter than I'd like but I thought it was a decent takeout breakfast. I came in for an order of pancakes on my day off and the pancakes were damn near crepes. Lol. And not fluffy like ppl say in older reviews. Only saving grace were the cheese eggs, which were made how I make them at home. Bacon is pre cooked and then thrown on the griddle so it's extra crispy. I really was excited to try this place out because of the reviews and the pictures seemed appetizing but it was a miss. The service was good. The girls where very nice and attentive. I got the eggs and meat platter which was good but my hash browns were under salted and my egg was over cooked, I asked for over medium. My partner got a sandwich called the Berkeley, which was basically a Reuben from the description. When we got the sandwich there was literally one slice of meat in the sandwich. This place is on a corner without a parking lot, but street parking is doable. You walk in and there is techno music playing, with a black and red theme diner setting. It looks like they are aiming for trendy but then there are 1950s coca cola displays which makes you wonder what the actual vibe should be. To hold conversation, you need to speak a little louder as the techno music is loud. It takes about 5 to 10 minutes for a waitress to come and take your order. I will say this is one spot where they lost points for me. We ask for ketchup before our meal comes out, and it is forgotten. No worries, we request it again, only to see it brought out to a customer without their order. Third time was the charm. Food is fine, prices are reasonable. I think they need to better train their waitresses which are the face of their establishment. They have low hanging red lights which I hit my head on, and the waitress told me that occurs to her frequently as well. There should be more attention to the theme and fixtures. Finally women's bathroom was out of service. I had to use the men's which had a broken toilet seat. I know covid impacted restaurants but as places are reopening customers expect working facilities. read more

To be honest, I wasn't sure how this outing was going to turn out... but when my waffle sandwich with scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, and cheese cake out my optimism grew. The food options are plenty for breakfast (omelettes / pancakes / etc) and for lunch as well (sandwhiches / burgers / etc). I love that they have Portuguese food options as well which are on the back of the menu. Got an omelette and the Portuguese steak. Everything was delicious and VERY well priced. Came here to meet an old friend for brunch. It's a small little place with maybe 4-5 tables and seats at the counter. I sat in the corner and there was a really cold draft the whole time so I had to move out of the booth. Food was pretty good - really good prices for what they gave us. I had the Eggs Benedict (they told me they ran of out canadian bacon so I got the Taylor Ham). I was OK with it. It was good but I feel like some of the other pictures showed more hollandaise sauce on their benedicts. Mine came with potatoes (though it doesn't specify that on the menu). My friend got the omelette and they said it was good. They were really nice - Since it was an old friend, we sat and chatted for a long time and no one made us feel like we had to get out or that we should pay soon. I really appreciated that. Okay, this place is so cute! My friend and I randomly stayed in Elisabeth but found light in the midst of that place at this cute corner cafe. The breakfast was delicious and filling!
