favorite coffee place. ever. delicious, great vibe, outside seating is a must-do (the patio is so beautiful) and ever since they expanded the inside seating is much much better. they did a great job. can be a little tough to get a sit down table during morning coffee rush hour (9ish to 11ish) but that's kinda what you get for going during coffee rush hour... just means that everyone around knows it's good stuff!! this place is funny because you can go, sit down and order without actually speaking to a single employee if you want. they have an order-online-at-the-table setup which is pretty cool and creative. overall, love it. my one thing is that the smoothies are $10 which is a little much but i trust it's because they are serving me the best ingredients. read more

I LOVE this place. It is well decorated, has amazing food and kind staff, and even is connected to a bookstore! I am a URI student who found this little cafe on Yelp a couple weeks ago, and already I've been back four times and have brought all of my friends. The food is unreasonably good, my favorites being the egg and cheese melt and the avocado toast (with an additional egg!!). The rhody latte is to die for, both hot and iced. I was working down the street and decided to hop on Yelp and see what was nearby good to eat. I was looking for a little something more than your regular old diner. I came across this establishment and saw positive reviews. So I decided to give it a shot. I placed my order online in hopes of avoiding a morning rush. The online experience was straightforward and very easy. It also seems to give you options if you wanna add or delete something in your order. I went with the Avocado Toast and added Tomatoes and Onions on Multigrain Bread. I was pleasantly surprised the Avocado Toast was EXCELLENT. The Avocado was creamy and didn't have a mushy texture. It was just right!!! The bean sprouts and red pepper flakes really accentuated the Avocado Toast. The topped it with a lemon and I suggest you squeeze a little of the lemon juice on top because it adds a nice taste. I was also pleased at the vast amount of choices they have for drinks. I chose to go with the Peppermint Tea and that was fine!!! But I definitely appreciated the amount of choices they have for Tea!!! They have a great selections of coffees as well. I was Really Satisfied with my breakfast that I decided to give their Grilled Cheese Sandwich a shot for lunch. Again, I was more than Happy with the Grilled Cheese. It was pleasantly cheesy!!! I mean cheesy when you take a bite and pull sandwich away the cheese stretches as far as you can pull. Yum!!! The Grilled Cheese was served with a side of potato chips that were nice and crunchy(similar to Cape Cod Chips). I also grabbed a Iced Green Tea Citrus for a beverage. I personally don't add sugar to any of my drinks so I take it without sugar. The Iced-T was unsweetened which was great for me. I also ordered my lunch online just in case of lunch rush. I had it set to be ready for 12pm and I arrived at 11:55am and the sandwich was being cooked at that moment. This was really nice because sometimes they can make it early and put it in the box and it'll be soggy. They thankfully made it to accommodate the pickup time I chose!!! Another nice small detail that matters. Nothing worse than a wet soggy sandwich. It's a small Café that has about 8 tables inside and has 8 tables outside (weather permitting). It's a really nice quaint place that has a nice relaxing vibe to it!!! The wait staff was excellent and very pleasant. There was no attitudes to be found here as far as the wait staff!!! The other customers seemed to be pleasantly interacting with the Staff. The only negative I'd say is the parking, it's just street parking which can be a little crowded. You may have to park a little ways up and walk to place. I would highly recommend you try this Café if your in the area, you won't be disappointed!!! I surely will be visiting this place for the duration of me working in the area and when ever I find myself around the way. The coffee is superb here, and the quality of the coffee brewing equipment is state of the art. It's a cozy, comfortable cafe where one can sit and spend some time. The cafe also offers free WiFi. I highly recommend a salted caramel coffee. The flavor is added to the house blend and it is a very smooth blend of coffee. My husband & I both tried the rhody latte which I thought was delicious but my husband asked the barista to add more sweetness since he likes it sweet. She willingly obliged and he was pleased. We also ordered an egg melt and ricotta toast. Both sandwiches were delicious but took almost 20 minutes or more to make (hence only the three stars). They apologized for the wait but we were still confused as to why two simple sandwiches took that long. We will try them again on our way to the beach this summer. read more

I went here for the first time today and ordered a chai tea latte. I was expecting the chai to be something I usually get served when I order a chai tea latte: that God-awful overly sweet powder blended with warm milk. Each sip leaves your teeth screaming from sugar overload, and you can barely taste anything that remotely resembles what a chai should taste like. But Caf Bar knows how to make a REAL chai tea latte. I was so happy to finally taste the cardamom, the cinnamon, the cloves, and the tea. To finally taste all those flavors, and experience the pleasantly warm and spicy sensation that comes with drinking chai without all that sugar and artificial flavoring made me SO happy. I've been staying down in Matunuck for work, and discovered the caf bar a few weeks ago- I've been back here nearly every day since! My favorite treat so far is the overnight oats- oats and chia topped with banana, coconut, and honey. Refreshing, and not overly sweet. A very nice (and quick) start to the day. Cold brew is smooth and flavorful, and the Admirals Blend from Downeast coffee roasters (their house mild hot coffee) is lightly acidic with a hint of floral aroma. Overall very nice. I only have two critiques: the building itself is very small, and feels a little cramped. Not much they can do about it, but it's probably not the best place for a big group of people. Second: it can be a little pricey- but hey, you get what you pay for. If you want a cheap caffeine fix go to Cumby's! Overall, I really like this place, and definitely recommend! read more

I hope the whole of RI doesn't discover this place because it will be packed but it was so good I have to let you all know. With it's slight hippie vibe it still has a clean, minimalist decor but the food and service were wonderful. Varied menu with mostly healthy options and everything was so good. I had the nutella latte and my husband had the mocha hot coffee. We also had the nova bagel and an egg melt. Both were huge, tasty breakfast treats, loaded with the right ingredients for a good start to the day.There's indoor and outdoor seating, and a very friendly and courteous staff. Everything about this little gem makes my heart overflow with happiness. The cute space uses the most out of every inch both inside and outside. Little bistro tables in every nook and cranny, and spots to meet a friend or do some work in a quiet corner. It's perfect. On to their smoothies: the best. Kale-pina was as refreshing and energy boosting as it sounds. It was smooth, flavorful, and a big favorite. The dark and stormy (kale, pear, green grapes, and ginger) was grittier than I thought it would be, but the ginger made up for it in wonderful ways. It was like a healthy boost of calming fullness. But, the banana mudslide stole the show. Banana, avocado, espresso, cacao and nut milk. Yes, please! A decadent dessert that will have to be proceeded with caution, because I could see myself sipping these on the regular. It's like you step onto a tropical island but it's full of chocolate. A dream. Caf Bar is a must, a run to, a make sure you stop here! South County has beautiful beaches, amazing restaurants, an incredible community, a throw back Main Street, and now... some of the best quality smoothies and drinks I have ever encountered. I'd like to start by saying they were not able to make anything using water because there was a water ban in the area, which is totally understandable. As a vegan and someone who has been to many coffee shops my standards are a bit high. Positive: There are a myriad of tables and chairs outside which is really nice ( there isn't much of that in Wakefield) The inside décor is cute considering the space is pretty small Negative: They need to work on the line and where it forms, it feels very chaotic when trying to order. They are not using compostable products for their cups, lids, straws etc. The smoothies were not blended to a smooth consistency and for the $$ it didn't seem to be the quality you would expect. My dad ordered a blueberry scone and it smelled and tasted like blue cheese, and he said there was not a hint of blueberry flavor. We stayed there and it was served on a paper plate ( again this could have been because of the water ban, which is understandable) I would hope if not for that, it would have been served on a regular ceramic plate. Also, it didn't seem like the people that were working there ( including who I think is the owner) were very happy or passionate about what they were doing. ( again this is very high standard of me) Possible changes/advice: I would have loved to see some vegan baked good options ( even maybe a packaged vegan cookie such as Liz Lovelies or ABC Baking company) Also if certain items on the menu are vegan, then maybe add a little note to them on the menu ( even if it's just the bagels) Another great addition would be to offer non dairy cream cheese. (Tofutti ( which Bagelz carries), Kite Hill or Miyokos) would be a really great option for non dairy folks. Homemade syrups for lattes ( if not already doing so ) Oat milk offered ( really good in hot lattes) Alternative baked goods ( gluten free/vegan) Compostable products More creative smoothie blends ( with superfoods perhaps) I really want this place to be all it can be, and I love to support local business in my hometown. They are still a new business so there is a lot of time for them to make these improvements. read more

I have lived in 5 major cities, and so when I moved to Wakefield to be close to work I despaired because I thought I was giving up fabulous espresso drinks and cool cafe culture. I couldn't have been more wrong. I have been a regular at CafBar since I moved, and I come several times a week for a cappuccino, macchiato, golden milk, or seasonal latte. The staff are the friendliest you'll ever meet, and my puppy always gets a treat (or two). I love chatting with the regulars up front or hunkering down to read in the back room by the sunny windows.
