Ordinarily I wouldn't choose to eat so close to a major tourist attraction, but after leaving the Vattican and St Peters Cathedral, we were starved, and this place was close. It is cute enough with checkered tablecloths and white lights. The prices were great (lasagna, spaghetti with ham, and cheese ravioli for 14,90 without). The food was decently good, service was fast. We found this restaurant about a block from the Vatican Museum. They are many restaurants in the surrounding area'. We got seated right away, and were brought an extensive menu that included everything from Pizza and pasta to hamburgers. I opted for a pasta trio dish that included spaghetti Pomodoro, ravioli and lasagna, and of course a glass of house wine. Food came out fast. I loved the ravioli and spaghetti. The lasagna wasn't as good. Service was good and we had a really nice view. Prices were also fare for being that close to one of the most visited spots in Rome. Great place. read more

Not sure why anyone would rate this place low. It's not a 5 star restaurant. Service was fast, the watermelon, prosciutto, melons etc were so good. Had to try Tagliatelle Ragu. It was excellent. Al dented, with fresh cheese and amazingly fresh crushed pepper to add This place had the most attentive service I've had in Italy. All in all, great place to stop. Outside seating, but it the heat, it was nice to sit inside. A/C was coolish. Everything here is hot when it's 95, so this was a nice rest. The strawberries and fresh fruit looked amazing, but we were so full from the huge pieces of watermelon in the order left us no room. The melons were perfectly ripe and flavorful, and complemented the prosciutto well. It was a fresher prosciutto, still tender and not overly salted. Excellent together. read more

We were famished when we stumbled upon this lovely corner restaurant. They even scooched us under their outdoor shaded umbrellas to avoid the rain for only the fine price of 1 euro per person. Unfortunately all the waiters were a little too friendly for our tastes. read more

This little place sits right on the corner near the Vatican. We wanted to go to another restaurant nearby; however, it was closed. Needless to say the food wasn't bad at all. We ordered the lasagna and the seafood pasta and both dishes were good. Our food came very quickly, the waiter spoke English and was very friendly. We ventured into this restaurant on our way to the Vatican Museum. While the staff was warm and inviting the pastries and fruit leave much to be desired. We ordered two different sfogliatella which should be light flaky pastry with ricotta cream filling. These were a few days old and had some other filling than ricotta. We also ordered a fruit cup seeing the staff slicing fresh fruit. What we received was something that had been sitting a few days as well. The cappuccino was good but at €20 for a fruit cup, two stale pastries and two cappuccinos way overpriced. read more

This restaurant has a convenient location, right next to the entrance to the Vatican City. We stopped in for a quick lunch between visiting the Vatican Museum and Saint Peter's Basilica. Unfortunately, the food is pretty underwhelming. It's basically your typical tourist food in Rome: medicare pizzas and pastas. The pizza was okay, though the dough was a bit undercooked. The pasta was very average. While the staff was super friendly and helpful, while getting us to come into the restaurant, most of that attentive service evaporated once we were committed to the place. Service got really, really slow. Some waiters were friendly; others were not. Overall, meh. read more

Overpriced garbage. Pizza margarita was decent. Ravioli tasted like cheap frozen with bad canned sauce. Coke was 4 euro and came in a cracked glass. Cappuccino was 4 euro and small. Water is only bottled and 2 euro for a 16oz bottle. Save your money. It's really only busy because it's so close to St. Peter's. Oh, they also charge you a euro per person for service. Wtf? Um... maybe we ordered the wrong thing but this place is a real tourist trap. It's close to the Vatican so they cater to the foreign crowd. We came here because we did not have much time and decided to try the spaghetti carbonara and pizza margherita. After having all these wonderful Italian food throughout the cities we visited, we were simply not impressed. The quality of the food was not very good and pricey for what we got. Stopped here for lunch after a busy morning of climbing the step of the St. Peters cupola and then doing the Sistine Chapel afterwards. The food was AMAZING. My wife had spaghetti with bolognese, and I had both the pesto and the beef steak salad. Excellent food: filling albeit light on the tummy, as we still had the Basilica and several other sites to walk to all afternoon in Rome. It was very affordable, too, for our drinks and meals. Gotta love Rome! We sat on the sidewalk and watched the world go by as we relaxed, ate, drank and talked about our day. Lovely memory and experience! read more

Overpriced and under-spiced. Soup was cold and food was mediocre. They don't offer tap water, a bottle costs 2 €. Oh, and they apply a service charge per person. I mean, what do you expect from such a touristy spot close to the Vatican? But I was in desperate need of soup because of a sore throat and thought that with the high reviews that it would be ok. Just do yourself a favor and save yourself from a mediocre meal when there are so many other better options nearby. Oh and if you are a tourist- do yourself a favor and avoid restaurants with pictures on the menu and people trying to coax you in...if the food is good, they won't have to act that way. read more

The food is delicious! After an awesome day of walking and sight-seeing through Rome, we were more than lucky to find this place. It was one of the best restaurants I went to during my whole stay in Italy! The restaurant looks like one of those touristy 'self-service' places (I personally don't like those because they tend to be overpriced and un-adventurous), but once you're seated and have a menu in your hands, your mind will be blown by all the different and tasty options! The service is super nice and fast. We had our cappuccinos within 5 minutes ordering them and our food within 15. The atmosphere is really open and friendly. Stopped in as this place is conveniently located right by the entrance to the Vatican. Ordered a carbonara, a pesto pasta and a couple of drinks. The food was tasty but not totally well seasoned. The service was decent and it appeared that there were a few regulars here as well so we took some solace in that as we were ordering. Not spectacular and not awful, just OK. read more

Of all the wonderful places I dined in Rome this was the worst... Basic pizza, stale bread with an overdose of olive oil instead of being provided with a bottle of olive oil. There are so many wonderful places to eat in Rome, avoid this place and find yourself one that won't leave you wondering how bland a lunch can be read more
