We ordered a lobster bisque with puff pastry, deep fried chicken thighs, chicken salad with thai dressing, veggie dish, and a lobster salmon baked rice. Lobster bisque is flavorful and thick. Deep fried chicken thigh is crispy on the outside, juicy and moist inside. Chicken salad is average and what you expect. The lobster salmon baked rice is lovely! This is a wonderful place for HK Style breakfast. There are so many choices and mix and match combo. I enjoyed the rice rolls but my friends were disappointed that it wasn't filled with meat like the ones you order at dim sum. The macaroni soup was underwhelming. My friends really liked the congee which was a good size portion. We also enjoyed the HK milk tea, it was strong and rich in flavor. I asked for wheat toast but they gave us white so not sure if that is an option though they did not tell is it was not available. The fish cutlet was deep fried and tastes yummy. I think it's great in terms of price and location! The place also bbq chicken and pork and other HK style dishes. Will come back and try their dinner menu! read more

We stopped here for a Sunday lunch. We were quickly taken to our table and given a menu to look over. We weren't too hungry and ordered a plate to share. It was the lunch special with bbq Duck and pork. The bbq pork was good and the bbq Duck was okay. The bone broth soup was delicious. Came here for a quick dinner and it did not disappoint. Ordered their baked pork chop rice, beef chow fun and char Siu and roast duck. Their baked pork chop rice was on point. The pork chop was of nice quality and was meaty (not the ones where they give u mostly fat) on a bed of fried rice. The sauce was authentic and exactly what you will get in Hong Kong. The beef chow fun did not look aesthetically pleasing but it was surprisingly good with a lot of "wok hei". Their roast duck was fresh out of the oven, the skin was crispy and meat was juicy. The char sou however, I thought was a miss as the honey glaze was lacking a little. Our bill came to roughly $70CAD including tips for 3 people which also included a soup and 2 drinks. This is unheard of in nyc as everything is super expensive nowadays. It's also good to note they take credit cards, which is rare in Chinese restaurants. Overall, this is a good option for quick and cheap eats. Food quality and service was surprisingly better than expected. read more

Cafe de A replaced a long time HK Style BBQ Restaurant and I was hoping the new restaurant would be at least comparable to the previous one ... I'm happy to report that they did a good job and present itself as a strong contender in the very competitive dining scene in Richmond! Hight light items : HK Style BBQ Duck, Roasted Pork and Soy Chicken!! All were up to par with the best ones in town! Also worth mentioning is their Beef Chow Fun! Took my mom for a quick dinner here as I've tried their breakfast. Typical hk cafe vibes and menu. But service was top notch. Attentive and quick and with a smile. I ordered the baked pork chop rice with milk tea And it was very good. Hearty and big portions and sauce was spot on. Milk team silky smooth and creamy. Came Hot and steaming, just the way i like it. My son ordered the beef Ho fun ( forgot to take pic) - was the most disappointing dish ever. Flavours off. No wok hei. Wrong noodles and wrong sauce. Also tried the bfast combo....amazing they had beef brisket noodle option so had that. Eggs were just scrambled, not silky and wet. The spam/luncheon meat was good and the hasbrown was the frozen variety. Over all, i would repeat but staying away from Any stir friend noodle dishes from Now on. Cheers! Happy eating! read more

I came with a couple of coworkers on my first visit and it turned out to be ok for a newly opened place. Got seated right away, service was friendly. Got the Seafood Chow Mein, and found it quite sparse (maybe because I was quite hungry) but taste-wise, it's average, nothing out of the ordinary. They were able to do separate bills which is always the preferred when dining with coworkers. A month later, we came for our second visit, however, the service seemed to have gone awry. We had a group of six and got seated at the only table for six in the middle of the room right away. Then a few minutes later, another server asked us if we had reservations and we said no. She told us that this table for six is for *person's name* and she wanted us to move. We were like, ok, move us where? She left and came back a few minutes later and said it's ok. Fast forward to ordering--from the get go we asked for separate bills and the server said no problem. After taking our orders, the items starting to come. The drinks that came were all wrong which is fine, we just had to tell them what each of use ordered again. Then the soups that came with out food came, also wrong, so had to tell them what we ordered again. Then the food started to come one by one. I chose the Mix & Match (Mixed Grill) option of Pan fried Chicken Steak + Cutlet Fish Fillet, got the fries, black pepper sauce and cream soup. Hands down, the better value compared to the Seafood Chow Mein I had on my first visit. OR maybe I was just really hungry again. Would I order this again? Probably. Now that everyone finally got what they ordered... and more -- there was hair in one of the dishes. And no, it's not from my coworker's because she's blonde and the hair is black. So we informed one of the servers. She was quite apologetic and told us that she would comp the meal and asked if my coworker would like a new one. Since she's 2/3 in, she's pretty much done and don't want one. After we're done with our meal, we asked for the bill (a number of times). Somehow they just never got around to bringing the bill. And because we had to head back to work soon, we finally got up pay up front. When we got up there, we were told that the server had issues separating the bill. I don't know how it was entered but the items on the bill was all over the place. With the long line up behind and people trying to get a table, I just told them that I would just pay for the whole thing. In the end, we were over charged for the drinks we never ordered. But that's ok. Mistakes happen. New establishment and they're still working out the kinks. I just hope the next visit will be better. I'm hopeful. read more

My rating will be adjusted as I return to try again. The establishment is currently where the old Danny's Wontun used to be and is under soft opening status so are still working out kinks. My review is based on current status. Upon entering was greeted by either the owner or boss man asking how many. I said 1 and was seated at one of the smaller tables located to the right. Bench(cushioned) seating against wall and the other side of the table with a table chair. All bright orange in color. As I was being seated boss man loudly spoke across to some of the servers to get me a menu and tea. Soon after a waitress came with tea and gave me the menu. It seemed to have the usual HK menu type items in a smaller variety but the typical popular items were present. From the noodle soups, fried rice, chow meins to the combo meal plate and some sandwiches. Today I ordered the house special chow mein and a hot hk coffee/ tea mix. After waiting awhile for my order to come the waitresses frequently refilled my teacup if any of it was drank. After my food arrived I can see it was piping hot straight from the kitchen. There were a variety of toppings from shrimp, prawns, mussels, chicken and bbq pork as well as bok choy. There was plenty of crispy noodles as should be around the edges and plentiful sauce to make the noodles in the center nice and saucy. The flavor was mild imo and could've used a bit more flavor. A splash more of soy or oyster sauce or something. It wasn't bad, it was just a hair off of what I'm accustomed to when having a house special. The texture, portion size and temperature of the dish was spot on. Usually however when I eat this dish in most places I immediately want to take another bite and stuff my face. Due to the mild flavor I was less enthused in doing so. I still ate the entire dish(me piggy lol) and it wasn't bad at all like I said just missing a tiny bit more. I guess I could add salt myself. The coffee/ tea mix was ok, I could use slightly more condense milk flavor but overall not bad. The staff are very friendly and were apologizing for any errors/ mistakes that were being made due to opening jitters. On a whole my experience was pleasant and I would definitely go back as there become a permanent fixture in the area which I am frequently around. We shall see how they develope in a bit once they work out their new opening status to full on were good to go and not stopping! read more

We made it here in time for last call after a movie on Saturday night. They close at 10pm and we got there at 9pm. We were seated right away in a booth. The restaurant was clean and tidy. After ordering the food came pretty quickly. I chose the any three item and it came with a soup and hot drink. The portion is pretty large and the spaghetti wasn't over looked. It came with some corn and carrot as well. When we left we noticed they also had bbq meats but I think they sold out by the time we got there. 10/10 will come again read more
