This is your typical diner. A great place to get a hearty breakfast at reasonable prices. Menu offers everything from savory to sweet. Service was fast and super friendly. Lots of locals eating here so you know it's good. All of my " special requests " were done to perfection. I would definitely recommend. read more

Diner breakfast, there's just something about a place that has darned near everything! And I chose everything, or at least it was the omelet that had everything in it - mushrooms and bacon and sausage and ham and onions and green pepper and tomatoes and cheese. Warm service from a waitress who was quite busy but still managed to stay on top of things and refill coffee as needed. The restaurant itself was clean and quiet with a TV showing the local news. This was not a cheap breakfast but it was a huge portion that it kept me going until dinner. [Review 727 of 2025 - 432 in Michigan - 24287 overall] read more

I didn't want to go to "Cadillac Square Diner" but my brother talked me into going. It was a quick walk from the hotel, so, I mean, that was a plus. The outside of the building blends in with the other businesses, which made it a bit hard to see. Inside, the place seems homely but dated, and that's fine with me. The waitress told us to sit anywhere so we took advantage. The waitress was extremely nice. She memorized our entire order without asking us to repeat, that was impressive. Shortly after, our breakfast came out. It was more than I expected. Plenty of eggs with the right amount of cheese. I was completely surprised. My meal was good. I wish the home fries had a little flavor, but it was worth it. I would come again, with her being so attentive and the short work from my hotel, it worth it. I just can't tell my brother he was right about this spot. read more

I was trying to find a place for an after wedding brunch and the owner was super helpful. We ended up picking a place closer to our hotel for our group but I definitely want to try the place when we come back to Detroit! read more

Be very careful with your credit card receipts at Cadillac Square Diner. I came in for lunch and spent around $18, leaving a tip that brought my total to roughly $23. When checking my statement later, I discovered they entered the $23 total as the tip amount, charging me a total of around $41 for an $18 lunch. When I brought this error to their attention, they initially agreed to fix it. However, despite dragging their feet and giving me excuses, they never actually refunded or corrected the charge. Mistakes happen, but refusing to make things right when you overcharge a customer is completely unacceptable. Check your statements closely if you eat here. read more

It's not the cleanest place I've been to, but the food is plentiful and hot. I ordered the Cadillac Special with a side of pancakes and it was a lot of food! For about $20, I had breakfast and lunch. The pancakes were fluffy with crispy edges, hash browns were brown on the outside and moist on the inside, the scrambled eggs were cooked in butter, bacon was perfectly overdone and crunchy, the sausage and ham were juicy, and the toast was, well, toast - but with a lot of butter. Service was quick and to the point. Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy a good and fast breakfast cooked with a lot of butter, but consider bringing your own antibacterial wipes for the table. read more

Great diner in Detroit! We had breakfast there one day and had the Cadillac Special, while my friend had the Blueberry Pancakes. Both meals were tasty and at the right price (and much better than a hotel breakfast). Staff was attentive to our needs. Pretty simple breakfast place but five stars for the price and portions. Not many cheap simple joints in this area, unless you include crappy chains like Subway. Breakfast here almost feels like a must if you're staying nearby read more

Good food and really attentive service. Can't go wrong and close to convention center

Cadillac is a classic! I've been going there for years and their service and food has been great. The food is fresh and the servers hustle. Even though they're struggling to find people right now, their owners are working to get the job done, and I have to respect that. My go to is either the tuna sandwich or the greek chicks wrap, which is pictured below. The prices are high for what you get, but the food is good, and you are in the heart of Downtown. Overall, if you're in the area, give them a try! I think you'll enjoy it. read more

Saturday late morning meal was need after a night out. Perfect choice as some wanted breakfast and others lunch! Seated quickly. Beverages always refilled. Friendly efficient service. Varied menu with ample portions. Only negative and it is minor at that, the French fries (with our son's Chicken Caesar wrap) were a bit over fried and lacked the potato texture. Bathrooms are single stall; clean and stocked. read more

In town for a personal trip to see the Metallica concerts. So, there are thousands of people in downtown Detroit, many of whom were looking for a place to eat on a Saturday morning. The wait was long for Cadillac Square and they had one waitress who also acted as the host and cashier. She was moving as fast as anyone can and even with that, was not short with the customers. It took a while to get us seated and another bit longer to get our breakfast after we ordered but everything was very good. The coffee is really good and our breakfasts were cooked great and tasted even better. A great stop for anyone looking for a great diner meal!! read more

My friend from NYC was very excited to get some real diner food! Delish and well priced.

Most of the breakfast options were a la carte. I opted for the Cadillac Breakfast Special...3 eggs, 2 slices of bacon, 2 sausage links, 2 slice of ham with pancakes (or you can select grits, or hash browns). The serving size was huge; much more than I needed. I ate a little and was not overly impressed but it was good, sans the ham. The pancakes were my favorite. I was the only customer on a Monday morning so there were no issues with service. I am in Detroit for a week but haven't been back since. I'll have to check the menu for lunch and dinner to see if I need a return visit. read more

We are visiting from California and thanks to Yelp we are able to find places to eat while in a new city. We walked to Cadillac square for breakfast. The place was neat and clean. Our service was great and everyone was friendly. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs and hash browns. My food was good and priced right for what I got. It is different from food at home but it was still good. My wife had a spinach and feta omelette. She was not impressed as it was prepared differently than what she is used to. I thought it tasted fine. It's simple greasy spoon diner food. That's not a bad thing. I liked it. read more

Wanted a good breakfast Saturday morning before heading to the Eastern Market. David directed us to a booth and took care of needs before Layla took our order. What a Great Choice for a full filling breakfast, 3 eggs, hash browns, home made sausage and rye toast. Everyone in the Diner was friendly, Hi, Good Morning, Have a Good Day! First of all, we were in town for the state championship HS wrestling finals. Not too much available downtown for under $35/ plate. Cadillac Square Diner fits the bill. In our party we had hamburgers and chicken sandwiches, PHENOMENAL!!! I ordered it and had DoorDash deliver to our hotel as downtown Detroit isn't anywhere as safe as the marketing gurus want you to believe. And certainly, easily the filthiest city in the country, next to San Francisco's open human waste sidewalks. If you have to be in Detroit, I would definitely use these guys! Great food read more

Good food and service. Reasonable pricing. Will definitely come back and highly recommend.

If you want a straight up good breakfast, go here! No frills or fluff...just good food...nothing pretentious. I'm giving it an excellent rating because the woman running the show impressed me. Their appeared to be two men on cooking duties. Lela was on top of everything else. She sat, took our orders, server our food, and checked us out. I appreciate her hard work and they seem to have a good system. I also appreciated her seriousness when addressing a man not wearing his mask properly and using a toothpick at her register. She got him together and I loved it! Ok to the food, again it was good!! Biggest omelet I've ever had and I loved that they used sliced and not shredded cheese!!! Hubby got pancakes and was satisfied. I'm a meat girl so the Cadillac omelet was on point. Took leftovers and omelet warmed up perfectly that night. Cool spot, not far from Campus Martius. read more

This place is a must stop in Detroit at any time of day/ night/ hour/ minute/ second - ANYTIME! The menu is absolutely huge and everything just looks great and it is so cheap for what you get. So I was here around 11am looking to set my stomach before a full day of drinking in the sun watching baseball (what more do you want) and so I just got the Cadillac Diner Special and my god was it special!! 3 eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, hash browns (home made) and toast and all served up with unlimited coffee for 9$ - Not even sure how that's possible!
