The Bike Night shooting and brawl says it all. Not a safe place to bring your family. Service slow. Food not good. Ambiance threatening.

So, place is really large. Great size dance floor for all that line dancing. Beer list is short, but pretty good. Staff were very nice the night I went. Biggest problem is the giant confederate flag with Elvis' head in the middle. Then they have an even bigger American flag hanging over the dance floor. So which is it? Celebrating the confederacy and treason? Celebrating losers who betrayed the nation in order to keep people enslaved? Can't have it both ways. Unless the hope is that the Confederacy will be restored and just change flags? read more

Went here for the first time with a group organized for line dancing. Cover charge for Saturday night was $10. So much fun if you're willing to get out of your comfort zone and try line dancing! Food Service was slow but the burger I had was good and the waitress warned me about the service before I ordered. All of the staff were great, super nice. I did speak with the owner when I wanted to leave and my food had still not come - addressed my issue quickly and kindly. You can tell who the regulars are - most were welcoming and tried to help those of us struggling! Lol I'd return! This review is about planning events here ONLY. My recommendation: don't bother planning an event. Just show up. I called this place two months in advance of my friend's bachelorette party. I'm out of state, so I couldn't show up unannounced. I called 5 times and emailed once. Two people took messages for me, and I never heard back. I called again to express my frustration, and I was then transferred to Graham in Florida. Graham assured me this place was THE number one bachelorette spot in Connecticut. He asked me to email him my party size and event information so he could reserve a table for us. 4 days later, I was called by a man named Pete to confirm the event. At this point, it'd been a month since I first contacted them. Pete confirmed he'd reserved a table for my entire party right by the dance floor. He told me to reach out to him if I needed anything else. The day of the bachelorette arrived. My party was going to be late, so I called the place to find out if this would be an issue, as it'd be understandable if it was. However, the woman who answered told me there were no reservations at all under my name. There was nothing written down. She told us to come anyway, and they'd make it work. When we arrived, she again told me no one had written down anything about an event that night. She said all the tables were taken, and there was nothing she could do. She'd even texted Pete, who said he knew nothing about the bachelorette I'd planned with him. Ultimately, a nice man gave up a table in the VIP section for us. All 10 of us crowded in the corner around a table for 4. We had a good night, so I'm not complaining about the atmosphere or literally anything else. I'm just devastated that I wasted so much time trying to work with them to plan a special event for my friend, and nothing came from it. This is not a place for planning in advance; just show up and make it work. read more

Recently was at this establishment for a large gathering primarily for drinks. The restaurant, not sure why that is in it's name, is really a bar with an attached dance floor. The front bar area is very large and populated with hi top tables and a pool table. The night we were there, a Friday night, the front bar was staffed by two very capable bartenders that were able to keep up with our crowd which at the start probably numbered 50 but grew as the evening went on. The back area of the place is where there is a large dance floor and a number of banquet tables and chairs are located along with a second bar. If you're into dancing, particularly line dancing, this is the place for you. Service in the back bar was very slow, and although our server was very nice, it took a long time for food or drinks to arrive. Even going up to the bar you had to wait for someone to show up to serve you. We ordered nachos, quesadilla, and people we were with ordered chicken wings. The nachos arrived with run of the mill tortilla chips with some cheese and beef on them but not quite what was expected. The quesadilla as large and had enough cheese and meat but were not all that tasty. The chicken wings, which I think were ordered buffalo style really weren't and I even questioned whether they were fully cooked or not. So if you're into line dancing and want to go drinking, or even if you want to try it as they give lessons, this is your place but don't go expecting much more than that. read more

The owner of this establishment is absolutely terrible. I was there with some friends on a Saturday night, and I had decided to stop drinking alcohol, but wanted to continue to hang out. I went up to the bartender and asked for a cup of water, she grabbed a bottled water from the fridge and said it was $4. I said just tap water is fine - keep in mind that I wasn't freeloading, our group had purchased food (which was poor, but that's another story) and many many alcoholic beverages and she refused to give me tap water. I asked why and she said it was policy, so I asked if the owner was present and he was, she grabbed him and he was extremely rude and aggressive. I told him it's actually illegal to serve alcohol and not give someone free water, as it promotes drinking and driving. I was a bartender for years and part of getting TIPS certified is acknowledging ways to reduce patrons from consuming too much alcohol. After I told him this he finally handed me a cup of water and told me to finish it and 'get the hell out' and said he had plenty of friends who are police officers who would 'take care of me'. Obviously, I'll never go back there, but this place needs a change in ownership badly. This is unacceptable and should not be tolerated by anyone and promotes unsafe behavior. Recently went with a large group of friends to celebrate a birthday. We brought a cake in with us because nothing on the website said we could not and it was something we have done at other line dancing places prior. Before bringing in the cake I checked with the waitress who gave us a very weary response but okayed it anyways and said to avoid the owner. After that the waitress ignored our table, missed part of our order, one of our food items was completely messed up by the kitchen and the food was subpar. It took us a while to figure out if we were allowed to leave the bar area to go down the floor which delayed our arrival to the dance lessons, led to an interrogation by the owner about the cake (he was nice and let it slide the one time), and we had to pay a cover. The lesson instruction publicly shamed us for being late, and kept giving us nasty looks for not knowing the steps when it was beginner night, and she was hardly doing out the steps herself. A few of us had been to other line dancing places before and had more enjoyable experiences with better teaching. They also only taught three lessons, whereas most places do 6-8 lessons. If you are deciding on where to go, save yourself the time and check out Mishnock Barn in RI or Rascal's in MA. Both places are worth the drive for a good beginner night of dancing over this place. read more

First time there and the bartender was so was incredibly rude and un welcoming, hardly any space at the bar and just not a good scene if you're under 65 and want to go out with your friends. The bartender really is what did it, just nasty and ignored us after 10 minutes of waiting with no line without even an acknowledgement, then someone else walked up after we walked away since we couldn't get her attention and she served them right away and scoffed at us.. not a great first impression at all, bathrooms were also dirty, any dive bar around is way better than here read more

It started bad from the start and got worse by the end of the night. $5 dollar cover before you even get in.. why? Not sure. Came here on a Friday, which you would think would be actually crowded. It was dead as a door nail. The dance floor had close to about 20 people, but I couldn't dance because it was line dancing.. so I would of looked like a fool. Also thinking it was dead because of a country concert happening in Hartford this night. I got a beer, and a "shot lady" came around giving test tubes shots. They were $2 a pop. So for my first I gave her a five. I got 1 dollar back. Assuming she just kept the other two for herself for a tip.. when I asked, that's exactly what she said. Generally a 20 percent tip would be about 40 cents for a two dollar shot.. But no it's 2 bucks to her. She came back around and I made sure I got my change back. Each time I did give a tip but it certainly wasn't two dollars. Luckily I ate because I didn't see one food menu around. Mechanical bull was taken out because of dangerous situations. If you like country, line dancing, and pool tables.. then this is for you. I'll say I went there, but it was a first and last visit for me. read more

This is not a place for people who want to night club. It's just weird folks. Def not user friendly. Very serious about the line dancing, freestyle is frowned upon. Service was good. We had chicken wings only, they were fine. Drink prices were great, $5 a beer is what I am talking about. Now let's talk about the mechanical bull- long line, men standing around watching ladies try and FAIL to be sexy. It's hilarious. You can't be dumped forward ass up and think that looks good. I have given this place a few chances but each time the people there seem to get more and more rude. It's a shame because it's such a nice dance floor. I have encountered extreme rudeness from bartenders, instructors, and the DJ. This most recent time we brought a big group from another bar and the DJ stopped a song in the middle to tell us to move to the back of the floor. We felt so singled out...he didn't do that for anyone else. Have never felt so unwelcome somewhere. Will not be back. I've eaten here and wouldn't recommend that either. So this was my third time at the ranch. The first time was for my 25th birthday and I got their peanut butter wings. Second time I didn't have food. Well the third time, I HAD to go back for more peanut butter wings. HAD to. It's been three years and last night I wanted them. Well let me tell you, they were as delicious as I remembered. They come with a side of jelly and it's like the best food ever. Side note: I didn't even drink alcohol last night and they were good, so it's not just for when you're drunk. People always wrinkle their noses when I say they're amazing dipped in the jelly. Well do you put cranberry sauce on your turkey at thanksgiving? This is my argument. Same concept, same deliciousness. Best. Bar. Food. Ever. The jack Daniels wings and the sweet potato fries are also out of this world. The music sadly isn't just country anymore, it's kind of "rapified" but I literally just wanted wings last night and it's worth it. I don't square dance. I don't sing karaoke. I don't even like country for the most part. But I do like this bar. I ordered the "Tijuana Death" buffalo wings and as far as buffalo style sauces go I'd throw them in the top 5. Not very spicy seeing as they are their spiciest offering but the flavor was fantastic. Wings were cripsy and cooked well. But that's not the primary factor as to why I enjoy coming here. The bartenders are great from what I've experienced. Very friendly and attentive. My favorite aspect is that they have plenty of pool tables, which seems to be a rare find in the surrounding area. The tables are far from perfect but they're $1 a game so I can't complain too much. House cues are godawful, so if you plan on shooting you may want to bring your own if you're picky. Altogether, though, a great spot to meet up with a larger group as the place is huge. read more

Recently Cadillac Ranch hosted a birthday party for my younger sister. We descended on them with about 16 guests all at once. Despite the cook being by herself, we were all served in a reasonable amount of time and the food was delicious. Stephanie and Crystal in particular went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They even made and brought out the cake and involved the karaoke DJ Sarah in singing happy birthday. I would recommend them for an event like this any time. read more

Showed up there around 6:00 pm put some appetizers in for order, and usually it takes 15 min for a normal restaurant. It took an hour for 2 apps to come out. Then we ordered some regular food and that took even longer I was so hungry! If your hungry and you want food do not come to this place, you will wait an hour and a half for apps and then wait 50 min to an hour to get regular food the service at this place sux you can probably order from a different restaurant and get food faster than this place. I hadn't been to Cadillac Ranch in almost 14 years when my friend invited me this past Saturday. Needless to say, I'll never be returning. I paid my $5 cover to get in & For starters, they charge you $1 to use your debit/credit card. In Connecticut, not only is that illegal, it's almost unheard of. Then, they tack on a $15 minimum on top of the $1 charge to use your card at the bar. The bartender of course offered me use of their ATM which comes with an even steeper "convenience" charge. (Not to mention the one I would have to pay Webster Bank for using said ATM) When we arrived around 8:50, we went right to the bar. After waiting almost 10 minutes, we were finally acknowledged by the bartender. We were a party of 4, she took the first drink order & all of a sudden, The National Anthem came on. The bartender literally disappeared & while I thought I was at a bar, I was yelled at not once but twice for trying to figure out what was going on. I had no idea that the "bar" shut down during the National Anthem, and I paid for it by being told to shut up by a "body guard" & shushed by a waitress. I'm an American, I have no problem being respectful, but being "new" to the establishment, I just had no idea. I not only felt ripped off for paying $5 to get in, I had to buy beers I didn't want to drink to meet their $15 minimum, had to pay $1 to buy the beer I didn't want to order, & I was treated completely disrespectfully by not one but 2 staff. I would have spent at minimum another $300 there that night, instead, we walked out & will never return. Normal people, beware. read more

Here's the deal. This place is pretty cool and fun. I went there with about 20 friends to celebrate a double birthday on a Saturday night. I honestly can't remember the last time I paid a cover to get into a bar when there wasn't a live band playing....but since it's been so long, I didn't mind ponying up the $5. Also, I was drinking some light domestic beers and they were pretty cheap ($3.50). I do prefer better, tastier beers when I'm out for a shorter, tamer evening and this place did have some decent stuff on tap in addition to a HUGE domestic selection. The staff was welcoming and very nice and the bartenders were attentive. A nice bonus for one of the birthday girls was getting an extra shot out of a bunch that one of the b'tenders was making for us. As a boyish looking lesbian I was a little fearful that I'd get the usual funny looks in the bar and especially the ladies room but there was none of that. I felt completely comfortable there and that was huge to me. If you decide to go here are my top Do's: Do shut up if you hear the National Anthem playing. I think they play it every night at a certain time. I wasn't paying attention and was waving my money at the bar only to be reminded by a fellow patron that I must wait until the song is over. I felt like a total tool too. Do ride the mechanical bull or encourage your friends to do it. I passed on the ride but enjoyed watching my friends flail about greatly. Do try to get there by 8pm and take one of their free line dance lessons. We missed most of this but those who got there early seemed to be having much fun. read more

I am giving this a 5 star rating because I like the IDEA of what Cadillac Ranch could be, and I don't want to be mean by giving it what I really feel it deserves, which is 1 star. After a 2 hour drive from Somerville, MA, in heavy thanksgiving traffic, I arrived at the Cadillac Ranch only to find that it was completely empty. No one offered to seat me. The only person inside was a bartender, although he was dressed like a cowboy which was pretty cool.The mechanical bull was not working. I've been to the ranch many times over the years for different reasons. I've always had a good time. My friends and I enjoy line dancing however sometimes the patrons that are really good at the dances can be rude to people who are trying to learn the dances. The facility is clean and the staff is friendly and nice. The service can be slow at times. There is a $5 cover but compared to other places I've been $5 is reasonable. I do think it's kinda ridiculous to charge for water. The parking lot has some pot holes that could swallow up a car and could use some resurfacing. If you like to people watch it's great for that too. It's a hokey place but definitely worth a visit if you are with your friends and want to line dance.
