I just scanned through the previous Yelpers reviews - it appears that this is not a very popular spot with them at all. I have a feeling things may have changed since some of the reviews were written - prices and menu etc. I actually enjoyed my time as did my company and the only reason why I am hesitating at four stars is because they did not have the salad I wanted, shrimp & avocado and I intend to go again to try that salad as it sounds amazing. The server, who was terrific, apologised profusely about the salad not being available. I got the smoked chicken salad with pine nuts instead. It was good but the sauce did not work too well for me, I assume it was lime mixed with something thicker - for me lime should be in a light dressing and fresh, so the mix with a thicker dressing was too oppressive. She had the tapas, three for €10. Calamari, patatas bravas and the chorizo which was fantastic, cooked perfectly. He had an enchilada and it was, "Oh yeah baby." He said that not me, hence the quotation marks. All came to €35 plus two espressos - that's very good in my book... I just wish they had my salad though! I enjoyed the decor, very clean and bright. Plus the tables are very cool, my carpentry eyes were drooling. Point of note: I have a feeling because I dined there off peak my have contributed to my good experience, maybe they don't do well when it's packed.

This place can feel a little like a franchise when you walk in, which is no bad thing really but it sets up the tone of what's to come. I opted for the 3 tapas for €10 which was a decent amount of food for the price. Alas the food itself was a little uninspired, with the sweet potato fries in particular being very soggy from the bravas sauce on them. Overall I don't think you'll be disappointed with the food here but don't expected to be wowed either. Special mention to the staff who were super friendly and do a great job of looking after you.

Walking through a bunch of places around the area that all looked full, we popped in here hankering for a comfortable environment and some Mexican grub. While the space was nice and the staff were great, the food was beyond disappointing. I got the chimichanga, which was so tough and over cooked on the outside, it was impossible to cut or chew. It was like a cheap chicken pie, served on a bed of rice with dehydrated peas in it. It was fifteen blips - and it wasn't worth 5. The salsa was nice and the chips my partner for with his quesadilla were lovely. The tequila lime cheesecake was fine, but nothing we ordered was of restaurant quality, more like frozen stuff you'd buy yourself in a supermarket and heat up at home.

Cactus Jacks has 3 locations in Ireland, two of which are in Dublin and the third in Galway. I've visited in the one in Millennium Walkway - just off the quays - a few times, and have always really enjoyed it. For lunch and dinner, it never disappoints. I have been to the one in Galway, but wasn't hugely impressed and was surprised I liked the Dublin one so much. They do a great lunch menu and have all the Mexican favourites like chicken/beef/prawn fajitas etc but my favourite dish is like a fish combo thing (no idea of the exact name) - it was huge with mussels, salmon and prawns. It was really yum. They also serve steak, burgers and a kids menu too. It' a good size restaurant with an upstairs that has big comfy chairs. The staff have always been really pleasant. I think it'd be a great place to eat with a big bunch of friends.

Average food but good price value! Went here on a Saturday and for the location it was quite empty. Staff was ok, they were very nice at the very beginning but then seemed to have forgotten about us. We waited 15min to pay the bill. Well, it's good if you pass buy and need some tasty snack but I won't rush back...

Even the font on the menu looks the same. Now, given that Chipotle isn't available in Dublin and good Mexican food is tough to come by (save Cafe Azteca), that's not at all a bad thing. This place is open late (11pm weekdays; midnight Fri-Sat), reasonably priced, and oh-so delicious! Order at the counter: pick the style, meat, and extras you want. It will be prepared right in front of you and then off you go with a little bundle of deliciousness. I had brown rice, black beans, and barbacoa and thoroughly enjoyed myself. The service is great and friendly as well...really nice feel here. They had a 2-for-1 promotion running and allowed me to partake even though I hadn't printed out the voucher (environmentalism for the win!). To top it off, they have Cholula hot sauce available (where oh where can you find this in Dublin?). And if your appetite for American knockoffs is still running strong, grab dessert at Eddie Rocket's across the street -- we did!

So, I decided to give it a shot on Friday as I wanted something a little different. I'm allergic to hot sauce so I went for a medium heat veggie burrito and it was good! Quite big portion. The staff aren't the smiley, happy people I would expect working at a restaurant like this but I'm gonna say that they were maybe having a bad day? Maybe it was the weather? Who knows. There's not much customer seating available so I had to take mine to go. Probably best, though, it's a messy aul thing to chow down on and sitting beside some randoms while I try to graciously gobble this down wouldn't have been my idea of fun! When I finally got around to eating it, I was very happy with it. It was huge, very tasty and filling. If the staff were a little more friendly and there was more seating, this experience could have gotten a 5*!

They don't have any maize flour tortilla, so, a bit disappointed, I took the burrito box. It felt at first like a punition to me, since the last one I had at pablo picante was disgusting and I really did not wanted to live that again. But I decided to give it a try, maybe this one would be better ? I took one with marinated chicken, cilantro and lime rice, kidney beans, and avocado ("verde") sauce, when it came, the box was looking a bit small and they were a thick green sauce covering all of it. But as soon as I tried I was very pleased by its taste. The green sauce was really good and not sickly at all. The meat was great and actually it was very very good. An awesome surprise, it really reconciled me with burritos ! If I had only one critical to do, it would be that I would have add a bit of cilantro and lime to my rice. Besides that, the staff was nice, the place is really cool and the music is good too.

Love the grilled tortilla and ingredients are all fresh. I hope to eat-in one day, so far we've only had delivery and it's always fast and delicious. I love their take on burritos, the roasted sweet potato is such a nice addition and sets it apart from a lot of other burrito places. Their Guacamole is amazing, super fresh with chunks of avocado and lots of flavor. Their nachos are also nice, lots of melted Jack cheese and toppings. Ordering on Deliveroo is a bit annoying, though. Wish there were a break down of ingredients so you could easily choose what you want and don't want, instead you have to pick from a very long list of various combinations. I think they could organize the menu on the site a bit better, and Deliveroo should have an option to include notes for the restaurant. We always have to call after we order to specify some changes, but they are always very quick to answer and happy to do it, and the order always arrives perfect! Great service and fab food, love this place!

A steak burrito, black beans, lots of cheese and lots of the hottest sauce. They often throw in a few peppers for me, just to be kind. They definitely are not mean when it comes to adding extras. When I say extra cheese, they do comply. Also, they add more than one scoop of meat. Usually a scoop and a third. The only complaint is they don't accept laser/visa.
