So I'll start with the good. The chips, salsa, and queso is probably the best I've ever had. That's about all the good I can say. Went today at lunch for the first time. The place is super small. They've crammed a lot of tables in a very small space and it feels extremely cramped. We did get seated right away but if we'd walked in within another 5-10 minutes, we wouldn't have. The service was ok but it appeared they have a very small service staff (which makes sense). The server definitely tried but it was very slow. I had the pork wrap and it, and the sides, were bland. Nothing really had any taste. No flavors stuck out at all. I'm not even sure they used any salt and pepper. I'll try it again but for the main courses, La Hacienda definitely has them beat hands down. For the chips, salsa, and cheese dip, this place wins. read more

We visit often. My wife is hooked on the spicy quest dip and I usually get the cup of chili and chicken torta. Michelle and Parker and the rest of the staff are always on their game. Closed on Sundays. Never had to wait. Do yourself a favor and stop by and visit them. read more

The food is always perfect here. The chips are served warm with fresh salsa. It's a healthy California take on traditional mexican food. Everything on the menu is fresh and tasty. The portions are large. There is a kids menu with a large variety and priced nicely. The restaurant is very small. I would not recommend brining a large group. Four people at a table is the max I would go. They could seat more but as busy as they are you might wait for a while. The service is great and the art on the walls is beautiful. I'm so glad Pace has stepped it up. A healthy/fresh restaurant was so badly needed. read more

The pace restaurant is too small. My wife and I went out for our first dinner with our new two week old daughter. The hostess sat us and put the booster seat at the table. A manager then told us that the booster seat couldn't be in the aisle because it was a fire hazard. There was no where else to put the seat so we had to LEAVE!!! Absolutely pitiful. Pros: the salsa is really good and fresh tasting as are both the refried beans and black beans. Cons: the chips are crumbly and the queso is more like a flour-y gravy than queso cheese dip and much like gravy, lacks flavor without adding a lot of salt, which would not come out of the salt shaker. The kids' burrito was quite large for a kids' serving, and my daughter enjoyed the half she was able to eat. I had the fish tacos which were good but would be better if the fish wasn't fried and my husband had the california burrito which he enjoyed. Overall: everything was OK, but we definitely wouldn't make the drive to come back or recommend it as a must-try place. read more

We are there last night and my girlfriend ordered cheese enchiladas and it was hard to cut with a knife and almost no cheese. I had a shredded beef chimichanga and it was 90% cheese and 10% beef. This was the first time going to this location, and after going to the 12th Avenue location regularly, I thoughts was going to enjoy it. The chips and queso was like my tongue was jumping off a waterfall into a river of awesomeness! That would be the last trip my taste buds would go on that day. I ordered a chicken quesadilla, and I never like shredded chicken, but I knew it would be shredded chicken I just wanted to let every restaurant know that shredded chicken is terrible, and I usually like it at the other location. I started eating and thought, "hmmm, I thought I ordered a chicken quesadilla not a cheese quesadilla," but I didn't mind just cheese because again shredded chicken is like licking a snail. After eating about half of the quesadilla, I looked and actually saw some chicken, which is not good that I ate half of the quesadilla without tasting or noticing the chicken which could say more about me than the lack of chick, but I don't think so. Needless to say, I wasn't satisfied with my "chicken" quesadilla. Like Tupac once said, ""I don't have no fear of death. I don't even know where to begin. First off don't expect professional or attentive service. Our waitress took almost 15 mins to bring two fountain drinks and another 10 minutes to give us a basket of broken chips and watered down salsa. After another 10 mins after she was done dancing in plain site she decided to come check on us. This location in a strip mall on Hwy 90 is small, and was crowded and loud when we went for lunch yesterday- my daughter's birthday. I don't know why the crowds were even there; the food is way over-priced for what you get. My small chicken enchilada verdes were bland, with a small portion of rice and beans for 9.99. I was extremely underwhelmed. My mom's tortilla soup was salty, and my daughter's chimi was small. Lame. The only thing I was happy about was that my other daughter, who is vegan, was able to get veggie tacos that satisfied her. I won't be going back, when I can go to Vallarta's instead! My wife and I have eaten here about 6 times, and sad to say the last. We have noticed the last 2 times the quality of the food wasn't the same. The guacamole was tasteless, very chunky and was not fresh. The meals we feel the same way about. What a great place! Hard to spot, especially as it's surrounded by chain restaurant hell. Now that I have found it though, I'll make sure to visit whenever I'm in town. The food was fantastic and tasted very fresh. I appreciated that it was not the standard take on Mexican food, and there were no garish decorations on the walls or mariachi music playing in the background. Very clean space. I agree with another review that the space is a bit small, but was told they just opened a few months ago. Thinking if they continue putting out great food like I had today, they'll need a bigger space sooner rather than later. Also, just want to mention the awesome hostess. She was super energetic and happy, and never stopped moving the entire time I was there...if there were no customers to greet at the door, she was cleaning, watering plants, etc! read more

Tried Cactus Flower in Pace for first time. Space is very small with limited space on tables. Ordered the Hot Quest dip and Hard Shelled Flour Steak Tacos without sauce and tomatoes. Quest was bland and no spice. Waitress confirmed that Quest was the hot and not mild so she brought a small bowl of chopped jalapeños and a shaker of cayenne pepper which after adding a couple of shakes of cayenne and the whole bowl of jalapeños still resulted in bland mild tasting Quest. My tacos arrived with tomatoes and had to be sent back but soon arrived replaced (probable just scraped off tomatoes). The hard flour taco shells were very good and flavorful and the steak was flavorful and we'll cooked although they were very salty. The black beans that came with my dish were very good and we'll seasoned but the Spanish rice was cold and bland. Due to overinflated prices and inconsistent food, I will not return read more

Food wise, get the queso classico and the Southern California Burrito. It's worth it. We've been on several occasions and while the food was mostly good, the service has been hit or miss. During our most recent (and last) visit, our server brought the caso but no chips. Said she would bring them but we never saw her. When she returned to our table, without the chips, we again had to ask for chips and rather than an apology, she offered excuses. When she finally returned, the caso was cold and the chips were all small and broken. My wife's dinner was thrown on her plate and mine was burned. We have ate at the other three Cactus Flower locations and have always had a great meal with great service. Tried the Pace location and won't be back for several reasons. The place is way to small making any conversation public to at least half the restaurant. The quality of food at this location lacks the detail the origional brought to Pensacola. I understand why the decision to franchise is difficult after eating at the Pace location. The owner or manager spoke with the table next to ours all dinner long and didn't even say hello (guess he knew we weren't from Pace). Soup was in a hot bowl but not hot off the stove. Waitress was good on drinks but never asked how the meal tasted. I'm sure you get the point (have more but will stop). I will return to other locations but not this one in Pace. read more

Save yourself some time and frustration, the waitresses here are slow, do not come to check on you or bring you anything. It took our waitress 5 minuets just to bring us our drinks and they were basically dead inside. She never came back to bring more chips and salsa or to check on us. She spent most of her time standing at the kitchen door dancing and laughing with whoever was working back there. I was there the other day with my family I paid my bill with my debit card and I left a cash tip on the table. On the receipt I wrote in the tips section that the tip was left on the table I noticed on my bank statement a day or two later that the waitress had added some extra tip money to the bill and decided to tip herself a couple extra dollars.. So I say customers beware !!!!!!! I called the manager immediately he was very coldhearted and only interested in giving excuses and repeatedly telling me how honest this waitress is. By the end of the conversation I was quite discussed it. It's bad enough to know that your banking card has been compromised but you at least expect the Manager of the restaurant to make things right and clearly I was not going to get that here. I expressed my opinion's and the review section on Facebook and I noticed there was a lot of people that were quite unhappy about this as well and I also noticed the restaurant decided to take all the reviews down I guess to hide their dirty little secret. I would just like everyone to know that the cactus flower café in pace Florida has a particular waitress there that will put her own tip amount onto your bill after you have already signed and left the store and I will also tell you that the manager will do nothing about it if you should bring it to his attention so I urge you to either not go to this establishment or if you should decide to brave it and go there be sure to check your bank statements and credit card statements immediately to make sure that you were not charged anything extra. Because apparently here it is OK with management for the waitresses to give them self some extra tip money at your expense. Ate here today for the first and last time. The ingredients were fresh, the place was clean and neat but the food was cold when it came out and didn't have much flavor at all. My husband had the fish tacos and they were very bland and his rice and beans weren't even warm. I had the chicken empanadas and they were like grease sponges on my plate, like how something soaks up oil when it's dropped into oil that isn't hot enough. Needless to say I couldn't eat them. They offer a vegetarian option on many dishes, which is greatly appreciated. Their 2 queso dips steal the show for us.....so good (not an oooey gooey cheese dip, rather it is creamy and super flavorful). My family decided to try this restaurant one evening before a sweet frog yogurt trip. The prices are too high and the food is terrible. The salsa left much to be desired but it was probably the store brand cheap over salted tortilla chips that made it worse.
