We were craving Mexican food and a family member recommended this place for us to try. I wasn't impressed with my food but the chips and salsa and margarita were good. Once sat they served us chips and salsa, the chips tasted freshly made and the salsa was mild but tasty. I ordered the frozen mango margarita and it was delicious! So sweet and strong. I easily got a brain freeze because it was so tasty. They even gave us to-go cups which was cool. For my entree I ordered the pork carnitas and I was disappointed in the flavor of the pork. Also the corn tortillas were not good, I couldn't finish it. The sides were all tasty, beans and rice were wonderful. I barely touched my food only eating my sides. My family all loved their food, I just chose something I've never tired before and wouldn't try again. I'd come back for another margarita though. read more

Rio Bravo - Mixed Ceviche at Rio Bravo--Superb! - Mexican Near Me - Pensacola, Florida

Rio bravo has been my families go to Mexican place for years. Sadly, I came for lunch this week ordered a meal for dine in and then also ordered a container of charro beans to go. When I got home and opened the sealed container, I found a roach. I called and spoke to the manager. His response - "was it big or little?"... umm. does it matter?? I went the next day to speak in person and did not even get a full refund for my meal. I won't be going back and would not recommend the restaurant to anyone. read more

I don't always eat Mexican food, but when I do I go to Rio Bravo. The service is attentive and friendly for the most part and the food is always fresh. There's one server in a particular, a middle-aged woman, who is super fun and provides the best service of all the waitstaff... I wish I could remember her name. We've been here quite a few times, but this last visit was hands down the best experience yet! Upon entering the restaurant at 8:00 pm on a Friday, we were led to our table immediately. They have safe social distancing protocol in place with the table spacing and frequent sanitizing, which is very reassuring. Once seated, our server promptly approached us to greet and take our beverage orders. She noticed we were perusing the margarita selection and recommended we try The Perfect Margarita (on the rocks with a salt rim, of course). I don't remember exactly what's in it but DAYUM GINA, it is good! It's flavorful, strong, contains fresh juices, and... wait for it... it comes with a tiny bottle of Grand Marnier, which you add a little at a time as you drink. It is by far one of the best margaritas I've ever had. Olééé.. olé olé olé! The food is fabulous, always hot, fresh, and delicious. To start, we had the Rio Bravo dip, which is their queso with grilled steak, chicken, and shrimp, accompanied by a side of pico de gallo and warm tortillas. The consistency of the queso perfect, not too thin and not too thick either. The meats were well-seasoned and so tasty. For the main event, I chose the #27 Enchiladas Rancheras. I LOVE a good enchilada and oooweee were these yummylicious! The order comes with four enchiladas, so I requested two chicken and two beef. They're served on enchilada sauce and queso, then topped with lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream. YO QUIERO ENCHILADAS! This has become one of our regular go-to spots. If you haven't been, definitely give it a try when you're in the area. And you MUST get the Perfect Margarita. Olé! read more

We decided to give this place a try in search of great Mexican food. We were not disappointed. The staff was friendly and our waitress was hustling. The salsa was spicy. We ordered carne asada and it was delicious. The top shelf margarita was really good. Only reason we didn't do 5 stars is the interior looked unkept. We will defiantly be back! read more

Service was awesome Ceviche was plentiful and very good more than good it was excellent and so much ceviche we shared the el papacito which was a great dish as well Equally good to Mexican food back in Texas This is now my go to in Pensacola read more

Terrible. Messed up pretty much everything in our to go order. Once you get it home, what can you do about then??? The "extra" salsa, guacamole, and cheese dip, which we paid for, were barely enough for one person and there were three of us. Shrimp tacos had more onions than shrimp, and they used corn tortillas instead of the flour ones, which was one of my only requests. Even called ahead to be sure they could do that before we placed the order. Pretty much awful all the way around. Will NEVER go there again. read more

Was a bit disappointed that I had to struggle to bring my mom in on a wheelchair, and when I turned around once we cleared the door, there was a waiter and two hostesses just standing there looking at me. It would've been nice if they had made the effort to at least hold the door, but there are more interested in what they were doing rather than helping a customer. That said our server was nice efficient and quick. The food came out fast and hot. Overall, the flavor was nice, about what you expect for Americanized Mexican food. It had all the standards, and pretty much hit all the notes. Was it memorable, no not really. But nice people And clean enough for what I was expecting that I would definitely go back and see them again if I wanted a quick meal. read more

Wow! This place was amazing. Everyone was really nice and the food came out quick. I couldn't believe how amazing everything tasted. It was hard to stop eating! lol. The restaurant was also awesome. So. Go ahead and walk in..sit down. You will receive bean dip, salsa, and chips. Order the top shelf margarita on the rocks salt...rim (they make the best margs and they are strong...so yea..and they have 2 for one also so chill out I order top shelf cuz im an adult and deserve it..). Then order whatever mexican food suits your fancy. You won't regret it. I've been coming here for years and its been consistently amazing. They recently re-vamped their menu and its nice. The waiters have all been so nice everytime I've gone and I cant believe I haven't done a review before. But here it is. Go. You won't regret it. read more

My ONLY complaint is this place is freezing! I got tres -pollo ,churro beans, rice & side of queso! Amazing ! Bogo margaritas. I'm a gringa w/ Hispanic ninos so I got mixed taquitos. This place needs more ppl to rate them and get that # ba-by it was amazing! Great service affordable & fast! read more

Not sure if the ownership changed or just a couple of consistently bad nights/experiences. This place used to be very decent as far as food and pricing ... But lately they have really gone way down. The margaritas are very very sugary, and the quality of the food including the meat is terrible. The meat served in both the tacos and the nachos tonight. Literally caused my daughter's braces damage. The meat was dry and tough even after I requested them to remake the meat. The food was served cold, the server had a poor attitude, and management was no help. Please eat here at your own risk and be sure to bring your floss. read more

I love this place. The food is always good. The place is clean and the service is excellent. Current special is queso birria dipping tacos and they are so yummy. Today I tried the rio bravo pasta which is basically the most delicious shrimp pasta with garlic red onions and mushrooms served with garlic bread and it was amazing the shrimp were so fresh. I go at-least once a week and usually get a taco plate because I love the charro beans. If you haven't been it's time to check them out. I never remember to take pics because the food is so good and fresh it is gone in minutes. read more

Yo get the real shiiiiii mayne it all good it's like eatin' in Mexicao if you get the right thang. I like the Rio dip and that darn delichsous El Bravo w/ chickychick. So yum. Get extra hot sauce ya dig it yeeeeeeah read more

The chips and salsa were very good, and probably my favorite part of the meal. My husband had a shrimp burrito supreme, enchilada style, and was happy with it. The chicken fajitas were very good, as well. The cheese enchilada pretty good, but the enchilada sauce was a little too sweet. They have very good sweet tea. The service was alright, but we're used to the wonderful service we get in Las Vegas, so there's room for improvement there. Major complaint: The music was not conducive to an enjoyable eating environment. It was loud, fast, and just annoying, to the point I may think twice about going back. If I'm going to spend $50 on lunch for 2 people, it should be an enjoyable experience. I did give 4 stars based on the food, and while the service was not great, it wasn't bad service. read more

I was unsure of this place when I first walked up to the front of the establishment but I quickly changed my mind. I found the 0 wait time to be Fantastic start to my experience on a Saturday night. Live music made a great atmosphere. I got the beef TRES TACOS and they were amazing. read more

Good enough. Cheap enough. Enough parking. Nice staff. Ate lunch, but a fun cantina vibe, probably a blast at night.

So angry!!! Stood at the check out for 15 mins on my lunch break for 15 mins for a glass of water that was brought up and literally just had to be poured in a to-go cup. I watched the waitress make four cocktails, and then stood there talking to another associate possibly the manager at the register. All the while I am standing there to go food in hand getting cold and my lunch hour ticking away and my water is sitting there. I even said to her are they going to bring my water up and she said they did I have to put it in a cup. I dont understand where the break down happened but I will not be going back to this place. So ticked off. read more

It gets the job done. Everyone can find something to eat here, but nothing that really stands out or WOW. Great mango margarita though.

I'm not sure how you mess up a ground beef taco and a cheese enchilada, but Rio Bravo has found a way. The ground beef was good but the shell was stale. My cheese enchilada was sweet. It had some weird white sauce inside. The beans were some of the worst I've ever had. The salsa was blah. read more

Went to celebrate my son & brother bday on 2/18. The server came back to bring our drinks & dropped all 4 drinks in my son & my lap..... water , tea , sprite & beer was all on us. NOT 1 time did the manager or server apologize or compensate us on anything. Mind you it was 40 degrees outside & we are wet from spilled drinks on us. My son is disabled & handicap which stressed him out & made him uncomfortable with NOW wet clothes on. We had to relocate due to the accident. I totally understand that accidents happen but not acknowledge it is NOT acceptable. Manager NEVER came to the table nor even apologize or offer to complete the $4 small quesso dip . I didn't come there looking to get ANYTHING free I had plenty of money to cover our $100 tab but it's the principal & to see the manager & server standing @ the hostess stand laughing & entertaining each other instead of making sure their guests were ok didn't happen. I Will NOT ever go back. A simple apology from server & manager would have been good enough but we wasn't even giving that. Leaving 1 star was being nice . Bad service & terrible management. read more

The hostess was not very welcoming. The waiter was, but he failed to mention they had bogo margaritas that day. The salsa and the chips were mediocre. The cheese dip was pretty good. The margaritas were not good at all. The fajita burrito was huge and it tasted alright. My friend ordered a coke and the waiter forgot to bring it. It's an average Mexican restaurant by Cordova Mall. Gets the job done, but it's nothing special. Wouldn't go again unless I was really hungry. read more
