Plot twist: The people who knew about this hidden gem before us were... Jason's grandparents. Jason (the birthday boy and local) and I have been watching the Bar-Celona sign go up every time we visit family, saying, "We HAVE to try that place!" Little did we know his grandparents had already done the research for us and had quietly become regulars. Naturally, they brought us here to celebrate Jason's birthday, and honestly... they set the bar ridiculously high for the rest of the trip. First things first... don't judge this restaurant by the outside. This is one of those places that doesn't scream for attention, it quietly waits for you to discover it, then absolutely blows your taste buds away. Yes, they're closed on Mondays. Yes, the hours are a little quirky. No... we don't care. I'd happily rearrange our afternoon snacks & dinner week to eat here again. The décor is adorable, the atmosphere is relaxed, and then there's Maggie... Can we clone Maggie? Seriously. She greeted us with the biggest smile, knew my grandparents by name, remembered exactly what they usually order, AND all of the random substitutions they make. My brain can't even remember why I walked into a room half the time, and Maggie's over here running a restaurant with a photographic memory. She's incredible. Now... let's discuss the important stuff. The food. Before we even ordered, they brought out pork rinds instead of your typical chips and salsa, and I immediately thought, "Well... we're already off to an excellent start." Happy Hour is a steal. My grandparents enjoyed the house red blend ($3!), Jason and his dad had Maguire's Irish Red ($5), and as the 7-month-pregnant member of the group, they made me a virgin mojito that was so refreshing I almost forgot I couldn't have the real thing. Then the appetizers started arriving... Charcuterie Board?Yes. Pulpo à la Parrilla?Also yes. Garlic-Infused Hummus?I would've happily eaten it with a spoon if society allowed it. Patatas Bravas?Please just leave the entire pan next time. At this point I was already getting full... ...which apparently was adorable because the kitchen wasn't even remotely finished with us. Our table somehow ended up with: Gigi Flatbread Sicilian Coast Flatbread (subbed mozzarella for the goat cheese--10/10 decision) Mediterranean Garlic Shrimp Shrimp Scampi Calamari Puttanesca Spaghetti & Meatballs (currently a special) Every single plate that came out somehow became my new favorite. I know people say, "Everything was good," but I genuinely mean EVERYTHING was good. Fresh ingredients, beautiful presentation, and flavors that made everyone at the table go suspiciously quiet because we were too busy eating. Then... because apparently birthdays don't count calories... We ordered TWO Dolce & Banana desserts to-go. One had almonds, the other pistachios (or cashews... honestly, things happened so fast that all I know is they disappeared almost immediately). I only managed to snap one picture before they were gone and you can clearly see my nibble (huge bite). That's probably the best review I can give a dessert. Bar-Celona isn't just a restaurant. It's one of those places that makes you immediately start planning your next visit before you've even paid the check. So if you've driven past it thinking, "Maybe one day..." This is your sign. Go. Take your spouse.Take your grandparents (they'll probably already know Maggie ).Take your friends. We've been looking for more dining options in Pace and were excited to visit. Tapas and other dishes from Spain and other nearby regions. We tried a few different dishes with good portion sizes: bacon wrapped dates (delish!), patas bravas (well seasoned!), seasoned pups (yummy hush puppies with a flair), flat bread (oh so good!), and a dessert similar to banana foster (Bo-buddah! OMG...to die for!) AND there's a host of cocktails, wine and beer choices! They've done a great job renovating the space with good, spacious seating. There's also some entertainment each week with live bands and karaoke. We'll be back for sure! read more

What a delightful experience. The food was absolutely fantastic. We lived in Spain for three years and we have missed a couple things. My wife has really missed garlic shrimp, she found that delicious tapa here. We also had the garlic olives, the salmon avocado, Casablanca Chicken Wings, Croquetas de Pollo and happy hour old fashioned. All of it was excellent. Ok guys DO NOT SLEEP on this place! They have been open a while and to be honest, after I looked at the menu, I was like....maybe....! So last Friday my husband and I had been out and about and he suggested giving this place a try. Honestly I wasn't exactly excited but figured I could find a couple of things to try. We got there a little after 4 and it was Happy Hour. Yay! We were seated right away and our waitress was super attentive. I am not a cheese eater (I know...sacrilegious!) but there were a couple of options I was willing to try. Guess what?!?!? They were out of the 2 I wanted to try! Of course they were, its just my luck. So I picked out a couple of things and thought I can always get a snack when I get home. My husband has traveled all over and has zero food restrictions, so I knew he could find something. So enough drama, onto the food!! We ordered the Barcelona flatbread, Habenero Mango wings, Tortilla & Prosciutto Pincho and Mediterranean garlic shrimp. They also serve complimentary chichurrones! The Barcelona Flatbread may sound a bit strange when you read the description because it has spiced chicken, tzatziki and pomegranate seeds but oh my gosh was it good! The flavors were amazing! The wings were juicy and the habanero mango sauce was the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. Tortilla and Prosciutto was the perfect bite. The Mediterranean garlic shrimp was to die for! The sauce was so good, my husband used some of the chichurrones to dip it up when we ran out of toast points! Lol Yes, they are "small" portions as tapas' are but it was plenty for the two of us. Whatever you do, DO NOT turn down the complimentary house made chichurrones! I don't know what culinary magic they use but I could've eaten a huge basket of them, they were so yummy! For drinks I had the Seaside Chocolate Martini and my husband had the Corsican Bloom. Both were delicious and complimented the food! We spoke to the owner who told us they are in the process of revamping the menu and adding Gyros and Shwarma! We can't wait to go back and try them! This place is a hidden gem right here in Pace and we are so lucky to have them! Please, please, please give them a try! Was super excited about this place opening up and ended up terribly disappointed with the taste, quality and price of the food. We ordered as variety of tapas to get the full experience and couldn't even eat all of it because it tasted horrible and very dry etc. they really need to do better if they want to make it. Very disappointed. Had high hopes for this restaurant. Bar service was very slow. Was expecting choices of Spanish drinks . Very few on the menu. Sangria was very good though. Coquetas were not edible, in my opinion. They were filled with a creamy chicken base, not what I am used to. Flat bread was not worth the price . Pesto with 6 shrimp no cheese for 9.00. Stuffed grape leaves with goat cheese were good but were covered with a spicy red pepper sauce which would have been better on the flat bread! Will not go back. read more

Bar-Celona was a great surprise. The tapas were absolutely delicious. I had the salmon avocado pinchos and the wings, and both were packed with flavour, honestly reminded me of the tapas I've had in Spain. The cocktails were amazing too, and the bartender was really friendly and took great care of us. The staff and management made the whole experience feel welcoming and relaxed. This was an impulsive "can we find a new place to dine ". And boy, did we find a gem. Recently opened in February 2026. This is a diamond in Pace. My sister and I sat at the bar on a Sunday afternoon. They have a brunch menu we actually didn't try this time since we focused on the tapas menu. Next time I think k we will aim at that!! . Instead we got the garlic shrimp app and the goat cheese stuffed dates. Delicious! Both were a hit ! My sister got the all you can drink mimosa bar (so many lovely options)and I got the Bellini. (DD here) Then Summer opened our eyes. And taste buds. She offered a sample of her personal creation the "green Bloody Mary" Different than anything I have ever had. Refreshing, unexpected and so so good. I believe it might be a favorite drink I have ever had. They have a spicy and regular version. Both are exceptional. "Happy Hour" traditionally is discounted drinks and appetizers during off hours. It cost me $8 for 3 wings! That is $2.65 per wing. If I get the "non- happy hour plate, which is 5 wings for $12, that's $2.40 per wing. Happy Hour is discounted prices, not lower prices for smaller portions. I paid more for less wings.....make it make sense. read more
