The ambiance was casual, but also intimate. A good place to just hang out and talk with your people. Drinks were delicious, none tasting too sweet or too much alcohol. Service was fantastic! Bartenders/Waitresses were very attentive, welcoming, and happy to be there. Will be back again! read more

Ring, don't knock. And let those cocktails rock your socks. Been wanting to check out this cellar bar but glad I saved it for a special occasion. It lived up to my expectations. Romantic dim lighting, crafted cocktails, chatty/sweet bartenders, good vibe. Intimate. Not swarming, no line, accessible. My kind of vibe. I hate a wait. Wouldn't come with a crew but would return with my faves. I enjoyed this quite a bit. Hope you do too! read more

First time visit. Loved my drinks, loved the setting & concept butt... (LITERALLY butt)... the vintage couches, although estheticly pleasing, we're very uncomfortable. Refurbish them for the comfort of your guests. I will go back, but will wait to sit at the bar instead. read more

Finally made it here and it did not disappoint. We came when it opened because we have tried in the past and there is always a wait. There is maybe 20 seats max. The bartender was friendly. It's very dark inside hard to see the menu but makes it a cool ambiance. read more

I don't write reviews but this needs to be said. My boyfriend and I had the most fun here. The ambiance was amazing. Hannah S the bartender was fantastic. There was an unhappy guest that she handled with poise. Wonderful location. Fantastic cocktails. We will most definitely be coming back. Great ending to our anniversary celebration. read more

First time inside Sister Hen. H.S. and I have eaten at Brother Fox several times, but a show at the Saenger, or our schedule has not permitted us to try Sister Hen until now. First thing that you need to know is that there are two guest rooms 001 and 002 that are on the same walkway as the entrance to the speakeasy. You need to go all the way to the last door furthest from Alcaniz and there is a box on the wall and inside is a phone. Just pick up the phone and there is no need to listen or talk. It buzzes a phone that the bartender carries around and he will come open the door. Inside is dark but still inviting, and the bartender is warm and friendly. There will be a bar in front of you as you walk in, and a handful of low tables with chairs to your right. We went to the bar. When looking over a bar I look for a few things. The most important to me is do they have craft cocktails. I usually can tell if I see fresh herbs and I did not have to look, since the bartender was working on some and filling the air all around us with the scent of fresh mint. The cocktails here were superbly well balanced and tasty. I can definitively say that this is a craft cocktail bar. I ordered an Old Fashioned and even H.S. said that she could drink it and that girl does not drink brown liquor! I enjoyed our pre dinner drinks and experience at Sister Hen. I am going to look forward to going again. Think on par with The Kennedy or Old Hickory if you need a reference point. read more

Sister Hen - a drink and a napkin on a bar - Speakeasies Near Me - Pensacola, Florida

The couches there terrible! You're sitting on springs without padding. We waited about 7-10 minutes to get in although no one left. It's very small inside, I get it, but the hype wasn't worth the visit. We won't be going back. read more

Cute little place in a residential neighborhood. The speakeasy is located behind a wall and just below street level. You have to use the phone by the door and someone will come out and arrange for you to go inside. The drinks were good, service was friendly and the prices were actually better than we expected. An Old Fashioned was just $12.00. Only complaint, the sofa they say is at has definitely seen it's better days. read more

The atmosphere is fun, the bartenders are friendly & make a great drink! Definitely worth a stop! If you're a new to the area & want to make a friend, definitely the place to be! read more

I took my honey here for his 50th birthday. We had passed this establishment a few times and wondered what it was. Glad to say that I picked this place. The restaurant is small but cozy and intimate. There is seating on the outside as well. Food was amazing and the staff friendly. You're able to make reservations which is great. We also stayed at the unique boutique like hotel attached. There is also a separate bar which we didn't not get a chance to explore, but next time we will. I highly recommend this place. read more

We always enjoy it here! Great drinks, amazing mixologists and even cooler ambiance! When visiting Pensacola definitely make time to stop in for a drink! My favorite part is the way to get it! read more

Sister hen is beautifully executed. First , Sister Hen presents as a true speakeasy. The space is quaint and does not sit more than about 20 or so people a time so cross your fingers and hope there isn't a wait. Petite crystal chandeliers. Dark woods, luxurious textiles, and the space littered with candles. Expansive cocktail menu when a whole category dedicated to espresso inspired drinks. I had the clarified creamsicle which was nostalgic.. like a good humor bar but GIn! AJ the mixologist was a vibe, conversational and cool ..fly , tatted, and skilled. Any time i am back in Pensecola this is going to be a stop read more

Pensacola's only speakeasy style lounge (that I know of...lol). I won't reveal any secrets on how to get in, as that is all part of the fun. Once you can get inside you are immersed into a darkened candle lit room that has the feel of what the prohibition era may have been. There can he a long wait due to the limited availability, so be prepared. You can always grab a drink or small plate at the sister restaurant next door, Brother Fox. Once we were granted entry and took our seats at the bar, we were warmly welcomed by Chloe and AJ. They have been 2 of our all-time favorite bartenders, even after just 1 visit. Laid-back, friendly, fun and genuine are the best ways to describe our time with them. Our drinks were clever and fun. We had 4 total: Smoked Old Fashioned, Arcadia, Firing Squad, and Passion of the Fin. The 3 drinks were fun, different, and tasty. Our biggest surprise during our visit was the cleanliness of the restroom. That may not be important to some, but is certainly appreciated by all. We are certainly returning again to complete the drink menu. Thanks again to Chloe and AJ for a fun night! read more

The speakeasy bar is phenomenal. Bartenders are great. Andrew and Chloe are friendly and make great drinks!!! Can't wait to come back.

Gives off such great speakeasy vibes. It's a very small place and can only hold about 20 people at a time. Depending on when you go, it could be a 20 minute wait up to about a hour. It just depends on when people leave. The drinks were very yummy as well. read more

Awesome drinks, great vibes, cool bartenders! AJ and Chloe were top-notch. Definitely recommend the Bees Knees.
