Found this little gem after tanning @afterglow. Picked up some fajitas and they were amazing!!! Great customer service and love the environment. read more

We stopped for an early dinner tonight. Sat at the bar. Bryson was awesome. Drinks were simple, wine and beer. Food was great. Cheese enchiladas, what I judge Mexican restaurants by, great flavor and the cilantro rice was sooo good. Husband got a red fish which he too loved. Tried his fried squash and I want it next time. Lots of flavor in everything! We will return! read more

We showed up at 5:30 on a Friday. Was told 15-30 min wait. Ended up being like 35-40 minutes. Not a big deal. I ordered the beef tacos. They were dry and bland. No salsa on them, no sauce, no crema. Just beef and some veggies. Tortillas were meh. Atmosphere felt like Vegas. Extremely loud and very hard for my father and I to be able to have a conversation. People at tables near us were basically yelling at each other. It's been about 5 hours since eating there and I'm sitting here feeling nauseous and bloated. I have a 7 year old; the kids menu wasn't in print anywhere, so I didn't know prices. The server quickly rattled off 3 items. My daughter wasn't interested in any of them. Overall, since I live in Argyle, I *may* go again, on a slower night (without my daughter) and order something different, but not rushing back and definitely not going if I'm wanting to have a catch-up conversation with a friend. read more

As one would expect from a Mart B restaurant, the atmosphere is very well done. A bit dark and loud for my taste, but very nice artwork and very comfortable seating. The service from start to end was excellent with several of the management team stopping by to talk with us and check on how we were being treated. The food is good and plentiful, but not great enough to support prices about 20% - 30% higher than the Mexican food restaurants we typically frequent. Our total bill for four adults was $110 with no beverages/cocktails. Might return for a special occasion but will likely not choose to frequent Cactus Canyon. read more

Bartenders top notch. Felt welcome and appreciated. Great food and service. Ceviche good. Beer cold. Environment good. Enchiladas temp needed to be hotter. Chris is fantastic. Nathan came over director of operations. read more

Amazing! Taste buds were happy from the salsa to the Barria tacos topped off with "dessert" of the frozen espresso martini! Service was excellent and the ambiance is amazing! A definite new favorite date night spot! read more

First Time at Cactus Canyon. The drinks were great so was the food. Herby our server, was excellent. He was personable, made recommendations for drinks and food, and was everything you'd want from your waiter, similar to a high end restaurant. He's an asset to Cactus Canyon and we hope to have him again when we return. read more

Food was great and prompt but lord, the upsetting was disgusting. Very pushy, constant checking in. And the music!! So loud and over the top. Might as well be a bar. I'd rather drive down to Dallas or more refined place for the price and ambiance. read more

The atmosphere is awful. Came in for the first time and the place is so dark you can't see, the music is so loud I can't hear a word the waiters are saying. It feels like a night club. You have to yell to each other at the same table just to hear what anyone is saying. I can only eat one item on the menu, so not sure about the food's rating. But the overall atmosphere is very agitating. I felt the music in my chest the whole time. read more

Just another Marty B's restaurant with mediocre food, small portions, high prices, and top-shelf margaritas with a weird aftertaste (think licorice). read more

Yes, yes & yes! Bring your patience ( I used my monthly allowance) because most times there will be a wait. Our wait was about 20 minutes for 2. Modern ambiance, friendly service and loud. I had the beef enchiladas and my wife had fajitas. All good! She liked the chicken better than the beef. I liked every bit of my generously stuffed enchiladas. We'll be back. read more

We took my mom here for Mother's Day weekend and the food was so good. Then had out of town company and went back tonight. It did not disappoint. We sat on the patio and Krisandra was our server. She was on it! Great recommendations and knowledge- the Asada was delicious and we love the enchiladas. The fresh tortillas and the warm chips Were on point. (Very important for me at a Mexican restaurant). It might be a little bit more expensive than other Mexican restaurants, but it's worth it! My uncle felt like it was the "best Mexican food he's ever had". (Oh, and try the ice cream cake) Highly recommend this restaurant! read more

The food was amazing and the service was incredible. it was an overall great experience. We sat at the bar top

We had a great time. Herby took great care of us. Food, service and ambiance were awesome!! Can't wait to go back.

The food and service was average. The lighting was too dark. Many people needed their phone flashlights to read the menu. We were seated on the patio, ie wind tunnel. The price was high especially when a competitor has better quality/quantity at half the price. And the entrance to the restaurant based upon entrance to the parking lot seems like a huge design flaw. Pretty building though. read more

Loved everything about this place! Great food, service and ambience. Have been twice and recommending to friends.

Amazing experience and wonderful food. I had the pecan crusted stuffed poblano pepper, so good! My wife enjoyed the pecan crusted chicken, and excellent. The ambience and service were top notch. We will definitely be back, the only downside was there was a 45-1hr wait time, so will plan to go earlier next time. read more

Outstanding food! Excellent service, wonderful ambiance. We went on a Friday night, so it was understandably crowded. We had to wait a while but it was well worth it. I had the best chimichanga ever. Our only concern was the noise. They'll need to do some noise abatement. read more

The queso and margs were really good. Waiter recommended the fajitas. They were just ok. Tasted a bit processed.

Food was good, server was nice and stayed on top of everyone drinks. The bad is do not go there if you are celebrating a birthday. I was IMMEDIATELY (rude) told they prefer you buy their desserts not bring your own birthday cake! I prefer to bring the kind/flavor of birthday cake the birthday boy/girl wants! Will go places that let me make special occasions special! read more

Quite possibly my least favorite atmosphere of ANY restaurant I EVER been to. The food was acceptable, nothing special but at least it was 50% more expensive than other similar restaurants in the area. The seating was so tight that I was extremely uncomfortable throughout the meal. Add to that a blaring cacophony of noise through the loudspeaker system and oh my god, I couldn't get out of there fast enough! Felt like I was in a disco tech from the '90s in Europe. If you like blaring music where ZERO conversation is possible with people at YOUR table, then this is your kind of place! I have numerous clients from all over the world come to Dallas every week. When I run down dinner choices, I have always mentioned, Marty Bs and 1845, I had planned to add Cactus Canyon to that list. No longer! Not a single one of these 3 restaurants will ever be recommended again based on what I experienced tonight. You could not PAY me to return to Cactus Canyon! I wish there was a rating below one star to tell the truth of how painful my experience was. NEVER again! read more

Tried the place for the first time, it looked pretty busy, so that was a good sign. Got seated without any real delay. The first thing that stood out was how dark it is inside, the (necessary) table lamps were just adequate enough to make out the menu. I ordered the enchiladas. I've never at anyplace needed a knife to cut a chicken enchilada. Tough as a boot. They pretty much missed the mark on that dish. The ambiance is pretty loud with the base from the music, kind of like eating at a disco or a bowling alley. The patio seemed nice at first, but it's not really a patio, it was just a covered room with no windows, and like an echo chamber. The kids that were allowed to run around and yell and scream kind of turned the patio into a McDonald's experience, that's what made me move inside. The dining experience was no where near the fine dining image they try to emulate. The price for what I got, I thought was a little far over the top. I will say this however, the service was top of the line, the floor staff worked really well as a team. If you had an empty glass, you don't have to wait on your server, any staff noticing you needing something, took care of it. The service was probably the best part of the experience. read more

The food was beyond fantastic! We had the filet fajitas, 5 layer ice cream cake, and a fresa fresh drink. What a great meal! The service was top notch also. The only thing I can say I didn't particularly love was how dark it was in the restaurant and wow was it crowded. But even with that we waited less than 30 mins for a table. Marty has done it again! Congrats on another great restaurant! read more

They always exceeded my expectations. WELL DONE Marty. Service is unprecedented. Food is always great ambience perfect.

Had dinner at Cactus Canyon with my wife. Chips and salsa were great and the fish tacos were good. A little pricey, but I'll eat there again. Great margaritas... but a little small for the price. read more

The food, the service, the atmosphere ... everything is just amazing. It's pricey but a great place to go!!!

My wife and I went to a 4:30 p.m. dinner one Saturday. There was a 10 minute wait...not bad for a Saturday. we were seated and my wife ordered a drink from the bar. The glass came with a big chip in the rim which we returned! Because of the price, we ordered the Fajita for two. It came however there were no serving pieces furnished. In fact we were told that they never furnish serving pieces with this Fajita -for-Two. They also acknowledged that they would be sure to do it in the future. Additionally it was very loud the whole time we were there. So, in short, it was not what I expected from a Marty-B's establishment! read more

Great food and great service. The waiter was extremely friendly and they have great drinks.

Food was descent. I did the stuffed poblano which seemed to be a great choice compared to my table mates. Margaritas were def lacking as you could tell they were just trying to go cheap and re-utilize the same ingredients over a couple different recipes. I had a mango margarita and def would not do again. The staff was training when I went, but no issues there. Main complaints were the prices (super high for what you get), and the proximity of the tables to each other (very tightly packed making it loud as it could be). The place looked nice, but for Tex-Mex I'll def go other places with better prices and drinks read more

Wow!!! This is hands down the best Mexican food! The restaurant is so beautiful all by itself, but pair it with excellent food and great service...you get such a great experience! The chicken enchiladas and tacos al carbon were our favorites! Also, the espresso martini will change your life! Enjoy!! read more

Beautiful place. Very Friendly staff. Saul is great and super fun. Wanted to try something other than fajitas so went for beef chimichanga and soft tacos-- excellent. I put the poblano sour cream sauce on versus ranchero sauce. It was amazing. We will go back. read more

Food was great. Service was great. Price is WAY too high for this type of menu. We can find similar quality service and food in some of the other restaurants in the area for 30% less cost. read more

This place is stunning. And the service was 10 stars. From the moment we walked through the door the staff was friendly and attentive. Within seconds of being seated we were greeted and had chips and salsa. It was a busy Saturday night yet we were in and out within 40 minutes and that was having ordered appetizers, entrees and dessert. Can't go wrong dining here. The food is delicious. read more

Busy and on a wait at 4pm on Saturday so plan to be there a while. Decor is more upscale and modern and quite nice. Music is way too loud and makes it hard to enjoy the people you came to share a meal with. Hostess staff skirts awful short. Booth (away from the windows) were very tight and uncomfortable. Like a tight pair of pants. Didn't make you want to relax and eat. read more

Decent food, but fairly pricey, $18.99 for a cheese quesadilla is crazy. More of a place to bring a date, not a family. Good service!

well they have slowly lost their luster. had to ask for water twice. ordered queso with guacamole on side. forgot side had to ask again queso came cold sent it back. when it was delivered guacamole was in it. had to ask for plates and napkins. Al in all they are too busy talking to each other and not attentive! read more

Tried it for the first time last night. Given this was a Marty B's restaurant I was expecting good tasting food. No argument here, the food taste good except the asparagus was overly salted (couldn't finish it). I had the filet enchiladas with charro beans and Mexican rice. My wife had fajita beef quesadilla with asparagus and Mexican rice. The enchiladas meat was not filet mignon that it might be mistaken for (given the name), but seems to be more like a NY strip. The meat was still tasty though but not as tender as you might get with a filet mignon. The quesadilla was similar to that at Marty B's but seems to be smaller portion. My wife prefers the one at Marty B's. The server was very friendly and professional. He seems to be very knowledgeable of the dishes on the menu. We did advise him that the asparagus was too salty, he advised a manager whom did visit our table asking if we like something to replace the asparagus or offer some other compensation. We declined as we just wanted to provide our feedback. The atmosphere was expected for a Saturday night (busy and a little noisy with the size of the crowed), services was good, prices are a little high considering the portions and the dishes we ordered. Overall the food was good and the experience was good. read more

Marty B does a great job when it comes to staffing his restaurants. Always friendly and attentive service. I'm not sure how he manages to find such good people to work in his establishments. We have dined at all of his locations. As far as food quality, some are better than others. Our favorites are 1845 in Lakeside and his coffee shop. Rustico is generally pretty good. Being wildly popular, Marty B's bar is just that, a good bar. The barbecue is just so so. We never go there to eat. As far as Cactus Canyon, the ambiance and staff are top notch. Our food was served quickly and was quite good. I had the chicken fajitas and they were tasty. That being said, they weren't over the top. The TexMex is good but this place is way pricey. Thirty bucks for chicken fajitas is probably a third more expensive than any other place we eat. Although good, ten bucks for a small frozen margarita was a bit much. The salsa was not my favorite and the chips seemed to come right out of a bag. I think as the initial popularity of this place wears off, Marty B might find himself with too few patrons. Many of our friends seem to feel the same way. They enjoyed the restaurant but were surprised at how expensive it was. I'm not saying we won't go back, but it definitely won't be our "go to" place for TexMex. read more

Went on opening day and not a single hiccup. (Expected some on opening day) they nailed it from welcoming us to opening the doors for us to leave. The food is great! Marty has done it again. This is his best restaurant yet. The starter chips and salsa are awesome. Warm salsa is A1. Ceviche was simply incredible. Filet fajitas were darn near perfect! Only thing it was missing? I wanted more meat! Outstanding fajitas. Borracho beans were the best i have ever had. Chorizo mac and cheese was interesting but again sooo good. absolute best bite of the night was out bacon wrapped shrimp! Lord of mercy! Those will be ordered EVERYTIME we go. As for the drinks. We got frozen margaritas. They were good. Nothing mind blowing but just your standard frozen marg. BUT! We did try the frozen espresso martini and I'm not gunna lie. It was pretty darn good! And I don't like espresso martinis at all. They didn't have the sopapilla cheesecake we were wanting unfortunately but without a doubt we are making more trips back to eat. Inside of the restaurant is awesome! You need to get here! read more
