We were coming in town for a buddy's bachelor party for a weekend in mid-May. The groom wanted to do a crawfish boil. There was 16 of us, so we needed 2 sacks of live crawfish. After many phone calls all around town, this place was the only place that would have enough live crawfish to feed 16 of us. I spoke to someone, and they said the manager would call me back. The manager called me later that day and said for an order of that size, we'd be given the wholesale discount. What a treat! I followed up with them 2 weeks before the trip to make sure everything was still good. They said they changed systems and didn't have my order anymore... But they said they'd write down my order and we'll be good to go for the 60-70lbs of live crawfish. ON THE DAY WE OF PICK UP, I call and let them know we are on the way. THEY SAID THAT THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY CRAWFISH??? They said someone came in the day before and bought the crawfish... They said they called me 3 times to let me know the crawfish came in. I had their number saved and had NO calls from them. Not even a voicemail. They completely dropped the ball on us and we had to call all over town to find any place that had ANY live crawfish. I ordered the swordfish and the waiter recommended the grits with it, and OMG amazing. I don't usually like grits but he was persistent. I'm glad I trusted him because that dish was fantastic. He loves what he does and it shows in the food! They didn't have your typical kid food so I ordered a couple of things to see what my son would eat and he ended up eating everything I gave him and we got to try a couple of things. My wife found this place online because of the high reviews. We came here and the restaurant was completely empty in high season. First red flag. Then I watched four people leave and they were complaining about service and food when they left. My wife ordered a low country boil and my father-in-law ordered fried green tomatoes and fries. The fried green tomatoes were mediocre at best and the fries were, greasy and unrecognizable as potatoes. The low country boil was decent, but it took 25 minutes to get it and we were the only ones actually dining in the restaurant. The swordfish was my favorite, but the mahi mahi was almost as good. Large portions, fresh, perfectly cooked (the chef is also the owner). The mac and cheese was homemade, the fried green tomatoes were the best I've ever had, etc, etc. We also had really good scallops, steamed shrimp, and oysters on the half shell. AMAZING seafood place. So amazing we came here twice during our trip. Arguably better than the buffets and definitely fresher. The hush puppies were the best I've had in my entire life.
