I searched Yelp and Metro Cleaners had the best average rating and most reviews. There are a couple other dry cleaning businesses closer to us, but I thought taking the extra time to get to and from Metro Cleaners would be worth it (just a few more minutes each way). Metro Cleaners is located inside the Metropolis high-rise condominium building in Midtown. Same building/complex as Sweet Hut, the UPS Store, Fado Irish Pub, Taco Mac, etc. Like those neighboring businesses, Metro Cleaners offers validated parking (one hour) inside Metropolis' garage. Go behind the building and enter the garage via Metropolis Alley. After parking, follow the signs to get to Metro Cleaners. Metro Cleaners is on the ground floor, but doesn't have a street-facing storefront. We brought in six pieces of clothing and were charged $99.60. Those pieces included my tux shirt (one piece) and my wife's Indian clothes, consisting of one lehenga (three pieces) and one sari (two pieces). I never saw nor received an itemized breakdown of the pricing nor did I ask. I don't know if the prices were reasonable. My wife had some pretty big pieces, so I didn't think the prices were unreasonable. Unfortunately, my wife's lehenga came back permanently damaged. Dozens of rhinestones, probably over 100, came off during the cleaning process. This was the first time we've experienced anything like this with a dry cleaner. I'm not sure if it's customary for the business to still charge a customer for the damaged pieces. At pickup, the staff acknowledged the damage up front. I was still charged and paid the full amount of $99.60. I feel like I shouldn't have been charged for the damaged piece(s). We ended up having to discard the lehenga. To Metro Cleaners' credit, the employee who handled our drop-off and pickup, Richard, was friendly and polite. I don't blame him for the mishap. From my perspective, he was more of the "messenger." He was careful with and considerate of our garments at drop-off. He did tell us that damage was a possibility, but I don't think we foresaw it being this bad. This was due to our inexperience with Indian clothes. At the same time, I don't think a really good dry cleaning business would have allowed this to happen. For example, my wife and I are confident that the place we previously took our dry cleaning to (in North Carolina) would not have allowed this to happen. Maybe the folks who do the actual dry cleaning for Metro Cleaners could have turned the problematic pieces away and not charge us for them, before taking on the risk to damage them. We trusted the experts' judgment here and lost some sentimental pieces as a result. The other pieces turned out fine, so that's why I'm willing to give these guys another shot. However, this experience left a bad taste in our mouths. Turnaround time was two to three days. We dropped off on a Saturday. Three pieces were available the following Monday after 4pm and the remaining three pieces were available the following Tuesday after 4pm.

When I went to pick them up Friday at 4pm, I was informed they were 2 hours away in rush hour traffic. Dae immediately got in the car, made the trip and returned the pants to my home address (a 2 hour journey!). Truly above and beyond customer service. I will never take my dry cleaning elsewhere- this is the NO BRAINER of Midtown dry cleaning. Thank you so much to the whole team for their help. 10/10

I've been four times so far, in…read moreAugust and September 2025, and have been quite pleased with both the dry cleaning and alterations services. The Yelp and Google reviews for this place haven't been great. I think that's mainly because of the previous staff. About 14-15 months ago, a man by the name of Sang took over this place. He's apparently turned this place around, with business up 40% since he took over. Sang's brother owns the business. I was told the lady that worked here before wasn't very good and got kicked out. I went to Metro Cleaners at Metropolis in Midtown first over this place because of the reviews. However, after just an OK experience at Metro Cleaners, I decided to roll the dice and try this place. I'm glad I did. For my wife and me, this will be our go-to dry cleaner for the foreseeable future. It reminds us of our old dry cleaner in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Perfect Image Cleaners, because of the cleanliness and professionalism: https://www.yelp.com/biz/perfect-image-cleaners-chapel-hill (I rated Perfect Image Cleaners five stars as well.) There are several "Carriage Cleaners" locations around town. Sang keeps a neat and tidy shop at 1289 Northside Dr NW #615, Atlanta, GA 30318. This location is small. My wife has had two of her nice dresses dry-cleaned here. I've had eight pairs of pants dry-cleaned and four pairs of pants hemmed. The quality of the work has been excellent. The cleaned garments look like new. At one of the drop-offs, there were years-old stains on my pants that I didn't think would come out. Therefore, I didn't even bother to mention the stains. After pickup and inspection, I was pleasantly surprised to see the stains were gone. The attention to detail is great. Examples after dry cleaning: the bows on one of my wife's dresses was neatly and carefully tied, all the back pocket buttons on my pants were buttoned, and all my pants were ironed and pressed correctly. Other dry cleaners have created redundant creases in some of my pants, probably due to being careless and lazy. Fortunately, nothing like that has happened here. My pants have been pressed correctly according to their style, with existing creases reinforced and sharpened. I appreciate this. These examples show an extra level of care. Sang shortened my pants. He was precise and even called me to confirm the exact measurement to cut, down to the quarter inch. The turnaround time for four pants to be hemmed was only one week, including a holiday (this past Monday, Labor Day). I think that's a pretty good turnaround time. Turnaround time for dry cleaning has been two business days, including Saturday. For example, I think if you drop off clothes on a Friday, you can pick them up as early as the following Monday at 5pm. When I first visited, I saw Sang working with a customer to get her dress altered, so I figured I'd give this place a shot with alterations too. Hemming is simple enough, but for more complicated alterations, I'd still go to and recommend Royal Alterations on Howell Mill Rd: https://www.yelp.com/biz/royal-alterations-atlanta As far as cost goes, to get two dresses and four pants cleaned cost $53.90 after tax. To get four pants cleaned and hemmed: $89.80 after tax. I was quoted $16 per pants for hemming (not sure if that's before or after tax). I'm not exactly sure when this Carriage Cleaners location originally opened. The first Yelp review for this location was February 10, 2020. The first Google review was four years ago. On Google Street View in November 2018, storefront signage was up with "Coming Soon" on the front door. The building still looked to be under construction / renovation at that time.

It remains on clothes, so you can absorb cancer-causing chemicals every time you dress. When I broke up with my ex cleaners, I called every non-toxic dry cleaner in the metro. Cleanatopia had the best prices, hands down. You're welcome! Cleanatopia has offered eco-friendly dry cleaning and chemical free wet cleaning since 03'. Traffic is always heavy but there's free parking & a convenient drive-thru. Pieces are counted when you drop off, you get the total upon pick up. There's no bulk discount. Like most cleaners, prices aren't online, but you can call or read my review :). They clean on premises and there's no lingering chemical smell. Solvents are "safe for the environment and kind to sensitive skin" per the website. I stopped buying "dry clean only" clothes. The price one pays to avoid cancer is well... pricey! Turnaround is fast, and they consistently do a solid job with pressing and starching. I've never had any issues with lost items or buttons popping off, which unfortunately has happened at other places. One of the biggest pluses here is CONVENIENCE: * There's a parking lot out front (rare for Buckhead). * They offer a drive-up service, which is perfect when I'm in a rush. * And yes, they're open on Saturdays, which helps when you're juggling a busy schedule. You are paying, however, a premium for that convenience! This is on the pricier side, but I haven't been able to find anyone else who rivals their service and convenience.

My roommate attempted to cheer me up by telling me about this awesome family owned cleaners that was within walking distance of our house. I took his recommendation and my first experience was pretty good. Basically same day service and everyone was super nice. My next visit was even better, but it didn't have to be because they were actually closed (not sure I follow the logic of a dry cleaners closing on Monday). Just by chance I pulled up while an employee was there doing repairs. Even though they were closed he opened the door, retrieved my order, and took payment. Undoubtedly great service. After a few more visits I was sure I had found my new cleaners. Today I was devastated after they basically refused to take American Express, even though they do take it as payment. In the grand scheme of things it's probably not a big deal. I just didn't appreciate being forced to give them my debit card and forgo the Membership Rewards points that I could have received. Everything about this place gives you the feeling that they're going out of business - homemade signage, lack of lobby, uneven driveway, etc. If they can't afford the extra 2% (of $30.30) to take my preferred method of payment maybe they should consider selling to a developer... Or rethink the consequences of not wanting to spend $.60.
