We had an OK experience with Metro Cleaners. I'd return. Long version: After moving back to Atlanta, we looked for a new dry cleaner near our home. I searched Yelp and Metro Cleaners had the best average rating and most reviews. There are a couple other dry cleaning businesses closer to us, but I thought taking the extra time to get to and from Metro Cleaners would be worth it (just a few more minutes each way). Metro Cleaners is located inside the Metropolis high-rise condominium building in Midtown. Same building/complex as Sweet Hut, the UPS Store, Fado Irish Pub, Taco Mac, etc. Like those neighboring businesses, Metro Cleaners offers validated parking (one hour) inside Metropolis' garage. Go behind the building and enter the garage via Metropolis Alley. After parking, follow the signs to get to Metro Cleaners. Metro Cleaners is on the ground floor, but doesn't have a street-facing storefront. We brought in six pieces of clothing and were charged $99.60. Those pieces included my tux shirt (one piece) and my wife's Indian clothes, consisting of one lehenga (three pieces) and one sari (two pieces). I never saw nor received an itemized breakdown of the pricing nor did I ask. I don't know if the prices were reasonable. My wife had some pretty big pieces, so I didn't think the prices were unreasonable. Unfortunately, my wife's lehenga came back permanently damaged. Dozens of rhinestones, probably over 100, came off during the cleaning process. This was the first time we've experienced anything like this with a dry cleaner. I'm not sure if it's customary for the business to still charge a customer for the damaged pieces. At pickup, the staff acknowledged the damage up front. I was still charged and paid the full amount of $99.60. I feel like I shouldn't have been charged for the damaged piece(s). We ended up having to discard the lehenga. To Metro Cleaners' credit, the employee who handled our drop-off and pickup, Richard, was friendly and polite. I don't blame him for the mishap. From my perspective, he was more of the "messenger." He was careful with and considerate of our garments at drop-off. He did tell us that damage was a possibility, but I don't think we foresaw it being this bad. This was due to our inexperience with Indian clothes. At the same time, I don't think a really good dry cleaning business would have allowed this to happen. For example, my wife and I are confident that the place we previously took our dry cleaning to (in North Carolina) would not have allowed this to happen. Maybe the folks who do the actual dry cleaning for Metro Cleaners could have turned the problematic pieces away and not charge us for them, before taking on the risk to damage them. We trusted the experts' judgment here and lost some sentimental pieces as a result. The other pieces turned out fine, so that's why I'm willing to give these guys another shot. However, this experience left a bad taste in our mouths. Turnaround time was two to three days. We dropped off on a Saturday. Three pieces were available the following Monday after 4pm and the remaining three pieces were available the following Tuesday after 4pm. read more

I dropped off some pants to be hemmed a few weeks before the Labor Day weekend for a wedding. Due to hectic logistics, the pants were taken off site to be hemmed and were left in Duluth. When I went to pick them up Friday at 4pm, I was informed they were 2 hours away in rush hour traffic. Dae immediately got in the car, made the trip and returned the pants to my home address (a 2 hour journey!). Truly above and beyond customer service. Great reliable and friendly service. I'm in and out of here usually in less than 2 minutes on my way to work. Parking is a cinch behind the building and a short walk to the cleaners. Plus they validate. As far as rates go, I believe they are competitive. The owner will give recommendations for the best care for clothing and will try to make sure the customer is pleased with the result...he is also not afraid to discuss limitations of the processes of dry cleaning, alteration, or repair. The perfect go-to neighborhood dry cleaner in Midtown and safely opened during the pandemic. I have been going to Metro Cleaners since moving to Midtown in August 2019 and have been so impressed with the quality of the dry cleaning + inexpensive prices, especially in the heart of a city + quick turnaround time. I always tell Day (the owner) that it's actually TOO quick a turnaround, he usually has things ready by the next day, and I am usually fine waiting 3-5 days to pick something up :) It's always a nice encounter with Day who is incredibly kind + hard working. i strongly advise against this dry cleaner . I brought my white Canada goose jacket ( new) to them . Just to clean it a little bit . When I got it back , it was worse. I have blue stains all over my jacket . it's unacceptable, I'm going to give them very bad publicity. read more

They do both regular cloth and upholstery. We have been happy with the cleaning of regular clothes such as shirts. Recently we had upholstery done there. They messed it up big time - they washed the covers rather than dry-cleaning. Despite explicit instructions. The covers shrunk a lot. Another cleaner had done it before without problems. They did try to fix it but did not replace the ruined covers. In the end we ended up with covers that were useless. We will never return. read more

Having had an extended stay in Atlanta, I made the mistake *once* of using the W Hotels' valet service. A little bit of advance planning coupled with a little bit of Yelp found this place, and they did marvelously by me. Shirts properly laundered and pressed, pants the same, and undergarments washed and folded neatly, all for an absolute pittance. Just traveled through a hurricane and wasn't able to get my clothes steamed/pressed for a wedding I was attending. Came to them and they took care of me and had excellent customer service. The location is perfect as its on the way home, and they're always open when I need them. The staff is very friendly and always offers me the service that I need in the time frame I need it. I have actual recordings of the owner of this establishment calling me all sorts of names and using profane language because I requested to be compensated for services that were not received when they were promised. I called the police to handle the situation due to harassment and feeling threatened. The owner Dae, continue to use profanity even while the police officer was standing there. To make a long story short: On Monday, I dropped my items off to be altered. He told me he would have them Friday. I told him that was perfect. Friday comes, and on mu lunch break, I walk over to pick up my items. He tells me to come back at 4 because they were not yet available. So 4:15 comes around and I walk back to pick them up and what do you know, they are not there! So of course I am frustrated because at this point, I have been up there twice and then I really needed my items for MY WEDDING! So he tells me he will give me $3.00 off. Now mind you, he told me the items would be $12.00 initially and then on Friday tells me they are $36. So as the weekend continues, i get more and more frustrated about the rude behavior that Dae exhibited on Friday when HE WAS IN THE WRONG. At this point, he was only just rude. No name calling and harassment. YET. In the most professional way possible, on Monday, I come in and express my frustrations. He proceeds to tell me. "so do you want them, or are you going to keep b****ing". At this point, things go left and i express to him I am calling the police as he continues to use this vulgar language. He calls several of his friends as I am standing there and calls me stupid and all sorts of other things. And of course, I AM RECORDING! So as I wait for the police, I stand there in his store, just standing and recording him talk so poorly about me to his friends. The police arrive and says there is not much he can do but advises I file a law suit. He does require Dae to honor the full discount. Dae stands there still yelling for me to STFU among other things with profane language. I will never support a business who does not respect their patrons. This is a clear indication of the lack of respect that Dae has unless you are paying him what he wants and not challenging his failed promises.
