Pros: 1. Inexpensive. Jackson Hole is expensive and saying here can be very accommodating on the budget. 2. Availability. If you don't book well in advance, Jackson Hole may not have enough lodging options. 3. Comfortable beds and clean linen, sheets and towels. 4. Quiet and safe. I wasn't sure what to expect from this hostel but everyone observed quiet hours at night and folks kept to themselves. Cons: 1. It's hard to even find the entrance! There are no signs which actually advertise "Cache House" 2. No onsite parking. You have to find street parking which is not always easy if you arrive at night. 3. It can get quite suffocating to sleep inside the bunks especially if you're on the upper bunk. You only have a tiny fan for air circulation and the curtain blocks any of the outside AC air. 4. Our locker kept jamming and our combination wouldn't work. At one point we just kept our luggage in our car and only carried the essentials with us to the hostel. I'd say this is definitely one option to stay in Jackson Hole for a max of 1-2 nights provided you couldn't find something better in terms of pricing and availability. read more

My friend and I were traveling through Wyoming to visit some parks and were looking for some cheaper accommodations. Jackson Hole is a pretty expensive place to visit and this hostel was one that had (less) bad reviews and not so crazy prices. ($371 for two nights, Thurs and Friday. Yes, still quite pricey) We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The concierge called us the day of to make sure we were still coming, and was fine to us checking in around midnight. It is located in the same building as the anvil hotel, and the check in area is through an entrance in the small parking lot onsite. ....don't try to park there though, there is only street parking across the street. It can be limited. Check in process was fairly easy. There was someone at the desk to help us get sorted. They told us the queen bed we reserved was not clean when we got there, so they gave us a new bed right away. Thankfully it was a Thursday night and there were less people so it was easy to arrange. The entire place is downstairs under the anvil hotel. We were allowed one locker (big enough for one carry on luggage), and one drawer under bed (two big backpacks). They also provide you with a shower towel and another small/face towel. You cannot bring food or drink inside the bed area. My friend and I loved the numerous individual shower rooms, equipped with your own toilet, sink, shower, lavender scented shampoo conditioner body wash! They also had multiple rooms with just toilets as well. The sinks are at the end of the hall and had labeled sections for dirty towels. The other reviews stated there was no AC, which is true. I did not find it a problem, even though we came here July 7-9 2022. There is no ventilation whatsoever but It was relatively cool when I stayed. There was a small fan that kept us cool in our lower bunk. We kept it on the entire night. The showers also had no ventilation so after showers, it would stay humid unless you kept the door open to dry. Living spaces was comfortable. There was a Couch area, community bench and table, and a few tables and chairs. Unfortunately if you wanted hot water (for food), you had to go upstairs to ask the front desk for hot water. They would only give you a cup though bc the front desk doubled as a coffee shop. No refrigerator as well. Lock on our locker kept getting jammed or not working so we had to go upstairs to ask to get it fixed. There was basically no one working downstairs, so if you wanted anything, you needed to go upstairs to front desk to ask about it. They were nice and polite but it was a hassle. I liked that this place was in the middle of Jackson hole/downtown so it was walking distance to coffee shops, shopping area, small park, restaurants. There was also a farmers market down the street the Saturday we were leaving! Overall, pretty cool hostel that might have upped my expectations of hostels forever! But I would assume it would be nice since we paid a pretty penny... Definitely would stay here again if I were visiting. Don't stay here! They let couples sleep in the same bunk in the same room as everyone else so they were hooking up loud the entire night. They also found a gun in the bunk next to me and couldn't get ahold of the owner which kept everyone awake for hours as the police tried to figure it out. I've hostelled all over the world and this was BY FAR the worst experience ever and the most expensive. Do yourself a favor and get a hotel, there are lots of options in the area for not much more, staying here isn't worth it! read more

I'll start by saying this place was very cute. The bathrooms were clean and taking a shower in there after a week of camping was the best feeling. However, when we went to sleep that night it was incredibly hot. I have no idea how anyone can sleep like that. We were awake and sweating all night. We had to open the curtain to get even a little bit of relief. The boxes were very stuffy and uncomfortable. My friend described this like being on an airplane where the only ventilation is at the very front. Giving this two stars instead of one because they refunded us our second night and we left. Right off of the town square, so I never had to worry about having to drive anywhere outside of going skiing and to see the National Elk Refuge. Stayed there this June 2025. Upon making reservations asked about parking for motorcycles, was assure no issues. Need to keep them close as so easy to have stolen. We were informed upon arrival that guests of hostel had no parking spaces. You are on your own to find parking. The accommodations; beds were clean and comfortable. This is a very expensive option for a hostel. Every morning seemed that the housekeeping turned on music to start the day. This is generally okay, but it was a bit loud, so forget about sleeping in a bit. In another review, someone mentioned finding a gun in a bunk. This is not correct. The actual story was that hotel staff opened up this guest's locker. Apparently, they mistakenly used a different numbered locker. Among the personal belongings, was a gun (locked up). I'm not concerned about someone having a gun when they travel. I was more concerned that hotel staff opened a locker. Upon finding a guests items, they should have just assigned a new locker until they could locate the guest to inform them of using incorrect locker. Thus not raising issues or disturbing others. Guests should feel safe locking up any of their personal items and not worry about hotel staff opening lockers. read more

TLDR: great location, clean, nice beds. Yes, the cubbies are hot. Not super affordable considering it's a hostel but it's Jackson and everything is expensive. Amazing location! Right across from the visitor center in Jackson and only a short walk to all the shops/restaurants. I found it to be very clean. I'm hyper-cautious of bed bugs so I always thoroughly inspect mattresses and bedding anywhere I stay, and the bedding/mattress were very clean. We were there two nights and we saw a team of cleaners come in and clean all the spaces. We saw people of all ages and from all over! All the guests were friendly and respectful. I wish we would have had more time to spend in the hostel, I'm sure we would have made some new friends! Tip#1: the entrance is hard to find. It's downstairs on the East side of the building (the side facing the visitor center which is across the street). The building itself had a broken sign on the same side and was painted a dark color (not sure if it was navy or black). But before you lug all your stuff down the stairs, check in at the attached Anvil hotel. (May vary seasonally, we went off-season in mid-September.) Tip #2: they do NOT offer parking! There is a garage about a 10 minute walk away, or you can try to find street parking anywhere outside of downtown. During the day, you can leave your car in the visitor center parking but not overnight. Most street parking is free but limited to two hours until 6 and then you can park there overnight. In other words, you can park any time after 4 pm and leave your car all night. We were able to park on Mercill, which is the next street down to the North of the hostel (about a block walk). Tip # 3: the reservation includes a locker with a combination lock you set yourself. The locker is a good size, about half standing height, but fairly wide and deep. I was able to fit my 24" hard-sided suitcase (exactly dimensions below), good size backpack, coat and purse in the locker. They have a table near the locker hall where you can set your suitcase to sort through it. However, the locker hall has a lot of traffic and it was kind of a pain having to get in and out of the locker all the time. I recommend planning ahead and packing what you need each day in separate bags or packing cubes so you can just grab and go. Also, pack a separate bag for anything you want to sleep with in your bed cubby (air pods or ear plugs, lotion, water bottle, medicine, etc.). Exact suitcase dimensions: 17.7" W x 10.6" D x 25.98" H (standing on wheels) Tip #3: it is super easy to accidentally reset your combination lock on the lockers! I did it and I saw it happen to others. If you do, just head up to the desk in the Anvil hotel and the staff will come help you reset it. BUT, to avoid this, remember not to scramble the combination when the handle is in the "up" position (turned to the left). As long as your combination is set when you turn the handle down (to the right), it should remain as you set it. Then, once the handle is turned to the right, you can then scramble the numbers so it doesn't show your code. Tip #4: they provide several private, locking shower rooms which include a toilet, sink, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Not a lot of floor space, no counter space in the shower rooms, and only one hook for hanging things, so you don't want to take too much in there. They also have a shared sink/counter space area outside of the hall with the shower rooms. Tip #5: they provide towels! The towels are in the drawer under your bed cubby that has the same number as your assigned bed cubby. You can also set a combination lock and use the drawer to store your own stuff, but about half the drawers are under the ladders and kind of hard to get in and out of. Tip #6: with the curtains closed, the cubbies aren't too noisy, but there is some noise transfer. If you're a light sleeper, I recommend bringing ear plugs or air pods. Tip #7: as other reviews have mentioned, the cubbies do get hot. This was true even in mid-September when the outside temperature was lower. They do provide a fan in the cubby but you can't really aim it down at yourself. I think it is because the cubbies are pretty well insulated so they retain heat. (Insulation =better sound proofing, so it is a win some/lose some situation). It seemed to get hotter the longer I was in it. If you sleep hot (like me), plan accordingly. I brought a cooling blanket, which helped. They do have outlets in the cubby if you want to bring an additional fan. And/or sleep in your summer/light-weight pjs. Tip #8: they do not have microwaves, coffee pots, washers or dryers. There are several cafes within walking distance for coffee/food. I know there was a laundromat coming into Jackson but it would not be walking distance. I don't know if there was one closer. I enjoyed my stay at Cache House and would stay again! read more

This has been the best hostel experience I have ever had! Granted I have only stayed in one. The concierge were extremely nice and accommodating, the facilities were well kept and clean, there was good access to lockers, the location is fantastic, and the bed was comfy. This was the only location I could afford as everything else in jackson was 200+ for a night. I got it for 105$ split between two people which I think was fair for this location. The only downside I could see were the bunks being hot. I stayed her during a very cool June (under 80 degrees each day) and the bunk was fine after we turned the fan on. It was me and a friend both of which are larger guys. If we can handle it, I think most other people are overreacting. I would stay here again. read more

This accommodation is bacially an upscale hostel. Excellent alternative to the pricey rooms in Jackson, WY. Our queen size pod was plenty spacious for 2 of us to lounge in when not sleeping. A storage drawer just below the bed was great for storing things we needed more frequently. The locker in the hall kept everything else. There is no kind of kitchen facilities, and just one large sitting area (more than adequate when we were there). The toilet/shower rooms were good sized, and they were being cleaned throughout the day. When I stay people were respectful of the quiet hours. If there were folks intent on partying, the stay would have been quite different. The only thing preventing me from Gina 5 star to The Cache House is that once we closed the curtain on our pod it was hot and stuffy. There is a fan in each pod, and I had brought along another. But even as we got some air circulation, it was still uncomfortably stuffy. read more

When asking the manager Stefani about A/C issues she replied "We do not advertise we provide A/C but do provide a description of out hostel and what is included for the price a guest pays for. Our temperature at the Hostel is 60 degrees, and all floor heating is off all day, the photo you have sent is our regulation Since there are a lot of guests at the hostel the temperature of the room was high. Our temperature readers are mandatory for our local fire and building inspection restrictions and only read the temperature of the room." If you're looking for a reasonably priced stay in Jackson hole, this is it! The hostel is located near countless shops and restaurants so you won't lack for activities to do. It's safe to assume most people are here for the national parks but if you aren't, you should go. Reserving the room and checking in are both seem less. I was concerned about where I would store my belongings and if they would be safe. Each " bunk" has a locker with a code you create so it felt pretty safe. There are numerous private showers and restrooms so that isn't an issue at all. The common area has several places to relax and chill out. Most people are very respectful and keep the noise down. Now to the biggest issue- the AC. I swear I was sleeping in an actual sauna. I checked the thermostat several times and it was never lower than 82. I would wake up head to toe in sweat- almost like I threw myself into a pool. It was so miserable I hardly slept. If this AC issue doesn't get fixed, I wouldn't recommend staying here. $150 a night is WAY too much to feel like a lobster in a boiling pot of water. read more

My goodness this place is unbelievably hot. If you can sleep in 80 degree weather and humid musty place and are okay with spending $200 a night for that then this is your place. I recommend saving the money to stay here and putting a mattress in your car and shower at the rec center. This is outrageous. I expected way more out of this hostel for the price. The outlets don't work very well in the bed area. There is minimal space to store your stuff. I had to leave my stuff in the common room and luckily nothing was stolen. Awesome place, great location. this was my first time staying in a hostile but its way cheaper than any hotel around here so i figured id give it a try. My stay at cache was all anyone needs. the other guest were very nice. Showers and restrooms super clean with super hot water if needed, beds were very clean and comfy and they have a wall plug to charge any accessories you have also i found that the small fan they provide will drown out any background noise from other guest. Okay, here's the deal: this is a hostel. I'm going to do my best to not compare it to a hotel or other types of lodging. However, I haven't stayed in a hostel in a long time, so it's even somewhat difficult to compare it to other hostels. I'll do my best. First, the good... 1. Design: super cozy! Great look for the space. Everything was just comfortable and modern and updated. That was rad. 2. Comfort: the bed itself was more akin to a hotel than the hostels I'm used to. Great. Loved it. 3. Staff: the guy who checked me in was super helpful, knowledgeable about Jackson, and just overall good at customer service. 4. Lockers: big enough for your bags, and easy to use. 5. Other Guests: seemed like a good lot who stayed there. Now the bad. 1. Hot. Hot, hot, hot. Granted, Jackson isn't hot all year. It's not even hot half the year. But bottom line, the climate control was not great. I barely slept the two nights I stayed. If you close the curtain to your bunk...something I'd imagine most people would like to do while they sleep and/or relax...it became UNBEARABLE. I brought it up to the staff, and was told there was nothing they could do about it.* *To be fair, they did bring down a little box fan to the bunk area. However, it accomplished nothing, sadly. 2. Power in the bunks is less than stellar. There was only one plug in mine. 3. Storage in the bunks is abysmal. Not so much as a hook or a usable shelf. Just a giant cubby with a bed. A little space at your feet for stuff, but like, do you really want to leave your bag at your feet where sneaky peeps could pry into it? There are locking drawers at the bottom of the bunks, which were...okay. But seriously, there should be SOME storage space in the bunk cubbies themselves. 4. The shower/bathroom stalls should have powerful, noisy exhaust fans. You know why. 5. Price. So I get that this is Jackson, and this place is pretty nice for a hostel. But it's still a hostel. As much as I paid, I expected a lot more. Overall, I love the concept, and these guys really did an okay job. The execution is just muddled with a few irritating things that at this price should have been solved. Climate control shouldn't be an issue. Power in the bunks shouldn't be an issue. I think if this space takes the time to fix a few of these things, this could be a great alternative lodging option in Jackson. However, as it is now, I'm going to recommend that you camp instead. Or just spring for a hotel. I sadly won't be staying here again. read more

The rumors are true, it's hot. But that being said, it's clean, the beds are very comfortable, & it's a cool way to experience a hostel while traveling. The entire place is very quiet, for the most part people seem to respect the space and need for quiet time. The morning time gets a bit loud as people are scurrying about getting ready for the day, so don't except to sleep in unless you've got earplugs. The bunks are cozy, but VERY warm once you close the privacy curtain. In fact, my husband and I slept in our underwear on top of the sheets both nights. They do provide small fans that help with air circulation but not really any actually cooling-down. The shower stalls also get extremely steamy as there are no ventilation fans, but hey, it's a shower and if you've been here doing the outdoors all day- any shower is a welcomed one. The locks on the lockers seem to be an issue for almost everyone but they can easily come reset them for you. Supposedly they are "replacing them soon." Overall, I think it's a cool place to stay for a night or two. I wouldn't want to for more than a couple of nights, but I think that's the whole point of a "hostel" anyway, there are too many amazing things to do here that you don't want to stay too long indoors. This place is located in the very heart of downtown, everything is steps away and for the rate we paid (especially compared to others in the area) I felt like we totally made the right decision. And when the privacy curtain is closed it becomes even warmer. And I have a lower bunk. Can't imagine what it's like in an upper bunk. No windows to open because it's located in a hotel basement. Outside it's a cool 47 degrees. Do they have heat in the winter? I would ask. Clean bathrooms and showers. And the bed was comfortable. But NO AC! . read more

My 11th birthday when my childhood dog died. The public rejection of my marriage proposal. The time I came home to find my apartment on fire. Until staying at the Cache House; these were my worst memories. It's not that the Cache House didn't do anything right. The beds and towels were clean. And the location is outstanding. But that's where my compliments end. Check in was an excruciating ordeal where they explained my full size bed was almost ready. "Wait, I paid for 2 queen sized beds," I explained. "Here is my email confirmation." She was apologetic and said she would graciously "upgrade" me to one queen sized bed. Wow, what generosity, Great Wizard. She expressed surprise on seeing in her computer how much I'd paid - twice the rack rate. Her amusement was her own, because she said she couldn't do anything to adjust it. Then, the experience began. The beds are all crammed atop one another along a dingy corridor. There are lockers almost large enough for one suitcase with numbers that correspond to nothing in particular, leaving a mystery as to which one to take. Now the bathrooms. There are many WCs with showers. Each has a door sign you can hang after using it to signal that others shouldn't go in there until the maid cleans it, and restores sanitary conditions. Shame on me for being surprised that every single door had a sign on the outside calling for cleaning. Oh, you might be thinking the Cache House was fully booked. You'd be wrong. At most, it was 50% occupied. It was finally time for bed. I closed the curtain for some shuteye There is a thermostat in the common area which I noticed was set to a balmy 22 degrees. Every drunk guest, as they returned for the night, proceeded to adjust it to sub-Saharan summer or Arctic winter. Even with the alternating night sweats and frostbite, I might have still fallen asleep. But the noise! Everyone returning would speak in a normal volume that somehow was amplified by the basement acoustics and icicles forming around us. I've had more peaceful nights crashing on the couch in frat houses on a Friday night. If you don't like yourself, and need to throw money down the toilet, this place is perfect. AWFUL. I never write reviews but I had to for this one. Not worth the money! The bunks were stifling hot, I could barely breathe. I dragged my husband out of there after an hour of being there and found a regular hotel room, it was that bad. I was willing to lose the money and actually get a good night's sleep (had to fly home the next day). When we got there, we parked in the parking lot, and when we asked the guy at the front desk if we could park there, he said "No, those are for people who pay far more." Talk about rude! I wasn't sure what to expect as I had never stayed in a dorm style hostel before. It turned out to be really nice! The beds were super comfy!! It was quiet at night. Since the ceiling is low(bottom bunk), I did bang my head twice, so that's something to be aware of. The front desk staff was very nice and they serve complimentary coffee & tea if you're staying there. There are individual bathrooms & showers, and a big common area. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that it got a bit stuffy & warm as there's no air or ventilation, but I definitely recommend this place & would stay here again if I'm ever in Jackson. Looks super nice on the surface but we were really disappointed with our stay. Firstly, there were supposed to be eleven separate shower rooms. Eight of them were not working the two days that we stayed there. There were three showers for the hundred something guests that were there, which were obviously constantly in use, and there was no regular cleaning staff so they became disgusting. When I brought up the lack of the bathrooms to the person at the front desk, he only said, "Oh, I had heard about that. Sorry, but there's nothing I can do about it." Besides the bathroom situation, he outlets in multiple beds didn't work and it was extremely hot in the bedrooms. Despite the hostel being 18+, there were many kids staying in the hostel, and the quiet hours were not enforced -- guests made calls, listened to videos, etc. during them. I definitely wouldn't stay again or recommend to anybody -- for the exorbitant prices (for a hostel), you might as well go to a motel. read more

I'd give this place zero stars if I could - don't ever leave reviews but the cache house is abysmal. This place is a roof over your head. Don't expect much past that, especially if you want clean bathrooms, a good nights sleep, a kitchen to cook, toilet paper to wipe your butt, or a lick of customer service. The manager is in charge of both the anvil hotel and cache house, and the only way to reach them is in person when they inconsistently come into work. They are in charge of all final decisions regarding your reservation, so if you need anything at all make sure to contact the front desk weeks ahead of time, or forget about it. The employees can't help you without their manager's elusive permission. It's a shame that the cache house manages to make enough money for the manager to keep their job, because they've lowered the bare minimum. All the negative reviews are spot on - anyone who had a good experience here seriously lucked out. Don't give this garbage company your money, stay somewhere you'll enjoy yourself. read more

I would love to love this place but a couple big problems. Everyone here. Everyone thought there were doors on the room based on the pictures. There's not. It's a curtain. Second the description promises a fan. Nope. They have a few and they're a "hot commodity" in the summer. So if you don't get one. Too bad. You're going to sweat. It's a complete bad advertisement. I would give this place zero stars if not for a few nice concierge and the lovely cleaning ladies. The bunkers get up to 92 degrees Fahrenheit every night and there is ZERO ventilation. This isn't an exaggeration either - there is no running air, there are no windows to open, and they do not have AC to cool the place down despite what some front desk people may tell you before you arrive. What's so silly is outside air at night is HALF the degrees as inside, so they don't even NEED an air conditioning system if they only had a properly functioning fan to pull in cool outside air. There are no running vents in the bathrooms so there is no way for air to escape, and no regulation of fresh air into the building either day or night. My dad, who has a health condition and takes warfarin, was in danger of heat stroke and heart issues so he was forced to sleep in the car all 8 nights of our stay (and the front desk knew this). I paid almost $2,000 through a 3rd party for our 2 bunks and I was ineligible for a refund. Every morning there were groups of people complaining about how they couldn't sleep at all, and people sleeping with the curtains wide open because they were sweating to death. I think the local government needs to inspect this place as a health & safety violation because you should not be able to have ZERO ventilation in an underground group sleeping situation where the larger rooms stay at 78 humid degrees every night and the individual bunkers get over 90 degrees even with two personal fans blasting on high. Someone is going to have heat stroke and end up in the hospital sooner or later. read more

Really awesome place, very satisfied with stay. The interior is modern and everything is very clean and well put together. Solid set up. Will happily stay here again if visiting. Only issue is the wifi connection, which is incredibly unstable. Keeps connecting disconnecting-- please fix. read more

The place is ok. Don't expect too much, after all it is a hostel. The customer service is NON-EXISTENT. I called twice to get more information about the facility etc. "No answer"...°I left a message and still "Not returned". I called again another time but still "No answer!!! read more

This place is garbage. If you want 85+ degrees in your bed, lockers that don't work, rude staff and dirty bathrooms then you have found your nirvana. Would not suggest you stay here. read more

I wasn't sure how it would be staying in a hostel but honestly it was way better than expected. The place was super clean and felt very safe. Each person gets a locker big enough for 2 carry-on suitcases and a big drawer under the bed (both lock). The staff was super helpful and even let us borrow bear spray (that saved $60)!! If you're looking to travel to Jackson Hole to hike and explore and just need a place to sleep this is the place! The only down side is that the bunks get very hot at night so prepare to sweat. read more

Really hope that the horrible AC situation is resolved before too many bad reviews pile up. I REALLY want to like Cache, but I didn't sleep and was so deprived & tired for my full day in the Tetons the following day. Such a trip killer. Sleep in your car if it's the only other option. read more

Awesome and affordable place to stay for a weekend trip to ski Jackson Hole. Very clean and comfortable
