Smoked salmon Panini anyone? Very lame.

Worst service ever! When we walked in today I wondered why it was so quiet at 1:00 on a Sunday. There was no one else there, which made the bad service even more unbearable! We were ignored. Our food order was taken, gotten wrong, but never did we get a chance to correct anything because no one checked on us, and no one was around. My daughter ordered a Panini. And I'll throw that picture in here so you can see the lame sandwich. Not even grilled. Would never recommend this place to anyone, and I was so disappointed in the food. And the service was rude and unacceptable.

It was outstanding and everything was delicious. I orders the hazelnut fresh strawberries crepe and it was the best crepe I ever had. Totally recommend it.

I found this establishment on Instagram when I was trying to find places when I was in Ottawa in late May. My best friend and I went there for breakfast the next day, and luckily it is placed in the popular side of downtown Ottawa in Bayward Market. We were greeted right as we entered the door and ushered to an open table quite quickly which was great because it was still the morning hours where people like to get breakfast. Their menu has a large variety of what you can order as the possibility seemed endless. I ended up getting the Black and White waffles and a hot chocolate. The food plating alone is 5 stars because it is so beautiful when you receive the meal and you feel bad for ruining such beautiful plating. My only complaint is that the hot chocolate is extremely sweet, so order that beverage with caution. After a couple sips of the hot chocolate I would have to take a few sips of water to settle it down. Overall it was a wonderful experience and the wait staff had everything out in a timely manner and was friendly. I would go back for those amazing waffles that is for sure.

    All American hot cocoa

The American hot cocoa was a 2 star for me. Sure, it was thick and kind of rich in texture. However, the flavor was not what I was expecting. It's different than the typical hot cocoas I'd get in the states. I think it's the after-taste. It seemed a bit watered down or something. It must have to do with the fact that I asked for semi-sweet. The point is, I didn't like it. I liked the huge marshmallows drizzled with chocolate syrup though lol. It's in a convenient place, among all the restaurants, cafes, and shops in the marketplace. The interior space is fitting for a cafe. The customer service was awesome.

Nice design but huge hot chocolate serving

This place brings a great idea of serving chocolate in so many different ways. The Mexico was tasty but they all come in HUGE portions that I can never finish and hate to leave it on the table. Reduce the portion of the hot chocolate and make them more enjoyable/more affordable. We found the servers in a constant rush. They could have been more attentive to each table.

Came here expecting amazing desserts and good service. But only left in dissapointment... I came here for the first time for my birthday. My friend and I got a table for 6, as the rest of my friends were on their way. My friends ended up getting stuck in traffic so they were 25-30 minutes late. But, No one came to our table to offer us drinks or if we wanted anything while we were waiting for everyone. The hostess actually ended up coming back to our table to give us attitude about our friends being late. He said "If your friends don't get here soon, then I'm gonna have to give up this table because I have like 40 people at the door waiting" he said this in a harsh tone with attitude... (BTW there was only 9 people waiting at the door not 40) Anyways, luckily my friends got there 5 minutes after that. Once my friends were all here we finally got served. Two of my friends ordered milk shakes and they both didn't like them. My friend got a raspberry milk shake. She said it was very bitter and ended up sending it back. My other friend got a milk shake. She took a few sips and never finished it because she didn't like it. I ordered a frozen hot chocolate, expecting it to be cold... but it was HOT with a scoop of ice cream floating in it. Lol all our drinks were horrible. I ended up ordering the waffles. The appearance of the food was amazing! But... honestly, they just plopped ice cream and whip cream on top of the waffles. Which just melted in 5 minutes, leaving your waffles soggy in a pool of melted ice cream. My other friend ordered the chocolate fondue and they barely give you any chocolate to dip it in. Needless to say, this place is over priced for what you pay for.

My boyfriend and I dropped by this place for a bite and to warm up from exploring Byward Market. Nothing about the interior stood out - just a regular café. It is, however, a sit down café. We ordered a small black and white chocolate fondue to share. Portion size for two people was small, so order a large if you're sharing. The fondue was fine, but nothing to shout about and average. We thought the price of $12 was a little high for what we got. Overall, not impressed nor too disappointed.

    Ham Panini

I came here before heading out on a long drive with a couple of friends and had a really good time. Between the five of us, we ordered 2 crepes, 1 fondue platter, a sharing plate for two, a panini, and 1 large milkshake. Our experience was wonderful as always because of how delicious our treats were. My boyfriend and I got a sharing plate for two ($25) and split a Ham Panini ($8) as well. Our sharing play came with a waffle, chocolate coated ice cream, marshmallows for grilling, chocolate fondue with fruit, hot chocolate, and chocolate coated cereal. Every desert item was sweet and at the perfect temperature. The fruit we were given was also very fresh and sweet. As well, the panini was surprisingly very well made for a desert place. The only complaints we had at the end of the meal were about the service and the lack of chocolate for our fondue. We ran out pretty quickly of chocolate fondue and unfortunately as our waitress was no where to be found, we never got a chance to order more. Additionally, while our waitress was really kind, she was not attentive and only visited our table to take our orders and clean away the food. Our waters were never re-filled despite us sitting at the restaurant for an hour and a half. Moreover, the food took quite a while to come out. This is because the restaurant was busy though so just make sure that you have the time to spare if you come here.

Dirty plates that never got cleared.

Waste of my time bruh. Terribly run, slow service, a disaster. Never go to this location in Landsdowne. I ordered the after party waffle and it wasn't even cooked properly and cold when I got it. We got one bottle of water, drank it all and it was never replaced. I'm not usually the person to do these bad yelp reviews but it's so bad, i'm tryna help you out. So bad. Don't go here. The fondue was cold, most of the food was cold. It was a long wait. Terribly run, even the water was warm. Wtf is this.

Heard a lot about this place! Was extremely full! Had to wait for 30 minutes. Triple chocolate fondue and choco-nut waffle were the best!! Amazing desserts options! So tempting! Its so difficult to choose from the list of amazing food items. Would love to visit again!

If you love chocolate, you will not be disappointed. I only ordered off of the sweets menu but everything on either the regular or sweet treats menu has at least a taste of chocolate. We got the chocolate fondu and it was beautifully presented and super delicious with chocolate and fresh fruit. The crepes are also soooo good! If you are in a hurry, it is best to skip a stop here. When we went it was packed and the service is incredibly slow. The wait staff was running around like crazy but we were still waiting a while. Stop by with plenty of time and patience because it was so worth it!

*2.5 stars Definitely did not live up to the exceptional meal that I had anticipated for my breakfast this morning. The restaurant is in a cute little building with a nice ambience. The service this morning was good; the waitress who served us was kind and it didn't take long at all for our orders to be taken and the food to arrive. In terms of the quality of the food, however, I was relatively disappointed. My boyfriend ordered a ham, scrambled egg, and cheese crepe while I went for French-style crepes with maple syrup and we both had small sides of fruit with chocolate as well as an extra order of sausage and bacon. It all sounded great in theory, but the crepes were lacking in flavour, the sausages were dry and bland, and I was almost insulted when I saw a lump of microwaved bacon sitting on one of the plates that cost us an additional $3.50. After the meal, I confronted the waitress about my bacon dilemma, where she confirmed my suspicion. However, they gave us a discount on the meal because we were rather dissatisfied. Overall it wasn't terrible, but the brunch wasn't worth it even though the plating looks amazing. Can't really say much about the rest of the menu.

This was my second time here and the service is terrible. They sat us down and completely abandoned our table as we sat waiting to take our order. Tables that were seated after us had their order taken and had their drinks delivered before we even got our order taken. We ordered one dessert between the both of us and were only given one fork. However, the cheesecake was delicious, light and airy. Such a shame the service was under par at the Byward Market location. It does not make it worthwhile to come here again.

It's always been a special morning when we got Broadway for breakfast. They're a similar restaurant to Zak's Diner; with great food and their signature Homefries (that could sometimes use a bit more seasoning). You can get their Homefries anytime, even after breakfast, but their quality isn't as good as fresh in the morning. On top of just the food, the have amazing service. The staff is always happy for a quick chat or there for a good recommendation. In terms of speed, it depends on when you come, but provided you know what you want, it can be as little as 5 minutes (the time it'd take to drive to the store). Now to the Ambiance. The place is inspired by NYC's Broadway (specifically their Musicals) so the restaurant's walls are decorated accordingly. Overall, this is one of my favourite restaurants in all of Ottawa, and probably my favourite one for eating breakfast. My only qualm is asking that the Homefries receive more seasoning, but that is something so minor that it shouldn't result in the loss of a star from my review, and similarly it only really happens when I order takeout. Edit: I forgot to mention that from what I've seen, the owners are great people. Some of their staff have worked for over 10 years (some over 20), and they still have good things to say of their bosses (the staff, I mean), which is not something you tend to see. Also, this place is locally owned and operated.

I went pretty early both times and I was the first or second table there. I ordered the Trio Sante (a combination of yogurt, fresh fruit, and house-made granola) on my first visit and the ARC French Toast on my second. Both were excellent - I even dreamt about the french toast for awhile after =P There was just something about the contrast between the soft, rich, custard-like interior and the crunchy, oat-encrusted exterior in combination with a delicate spice, warm maple syrup, and tangy citrus butter... yum. To drink, I tried the drip coffee and a latte - both were average. The decor is modern and clean lines, with some elements from nature. It's bright and sunlight streams in from the windows. Basically, a great setting for a relaxing breakfast. Keeping in mind that both times I was one of only a few people there, service was appropriately attentive - i.e., there when it was necessary and not over bearing. Prices were on the high side, but probably on par with what would be expected in a hotel restaurant. I would come here again if I were staying at the hotel but, truth be told, there are other breakfast/brunch places in Ottawa that are higher on my list of places to go.

The Beef Brisket and Caramelized Onion Benedict on their homemade herb scone was just as good. Both dishes were memorable. Our server was very into food and did a great job describing the dishes. I was a little put off that he sort of sat/leaned his butt on the table next to us while he did so.
