The drinks are okay and standard pricing. A lot of their drinks are too chalky and has an artificial taste to it. Service is friendly but if they forget to ask for your number to enter for the points system before payment, you will not be able to get your reward points. The place is clean with plenty of seating. The food is mediocre, their popcorn chicken and sandwich is so-so. The ube cake from Dao was pretty good. As mentioned earlier, they have a points reward system but If you forget to give them your number before payment or they forget to ask you, you will not be able to receive points for your purchase. That is extremelly silly and backward technology. They need to address that issue. read more

Before my friend and I were about to part ways after a fun day hanging out, she let me know that there was a BOGO deal on Uber Eats for sparkling tea at Tealive. It was so sweet that she remembered that I am a sparkling drink fan. I walked over to my car and opened my Uber Eats app on my phone. Yep, I saw the BOGO deal and immediately added it. I also needed to fetch dinner. It was great that Tealive had egg sandwiches called toasteas. Such a cute name! I got a hash brown and egg toastea. My order was perfect, as I was more thirsty than hungry. One-stop shopping is also extremely convenient! My friend said to head east along Richmond Road that becomes Somerset Street West and keep on driving till I saw this place in Chinatown. It was the easiest set of directions for this tourist. Tealive is by the arch in Chinatown. I turned left into a parking lot. It generally is one that you have to pay. However, I had arrived after the pay-up parking period, so I parked for free and walked over. This store has a single step to get in and out of the store. It may be an accessibility issue to some folks. It's a deep store. There were plenty of places to sit down and enjoy dining in. I went to the back third of the store. There's a counter on the left for pickup orders. I had a nice man helping me. I showed him my Uber Eats order. He fetched my paper bag with my order. I thanked him and happily headed to my car. I safely secured my order in my car and then drove back to my hotel room to enjoy my food and drinks. Toronto has similar places that sell egg sandwiches. What they lack is offering bubble tea. This place has everything that I love, especially with sparkling tea. The hash brown and egg toastea was incredible! The egg was in omelette form. It wasn't overdone. It was fluffy and enjoyable. You also get a rectangular hash brown. I loved how crispy it was on the outside. It was seasoned nicely and was perfect. Perhaps to make you feel like you're eating something healthy, it had a tomato slice and romaine lettuce. They were fresh and complimented the hash brown and egg perfectly. The bread was toasted. You saw horizontal marks on the bread, which made me think that they use a sandwich press of some sort. The bread provided the perfect crunch, while still being soft. It held the entire sandwich together without wearing what you were eating. The toasted bread sets this toastea egg sandwich apart from similar egg sandwiches in the GTA. Here, you get a lot of bread that isn't toasted to the same extent. It's also so dry that you end up consuming a bunch of fluid to wash it down. My sandwich came with a couple of sauces. You can certainly enjoy the sandwich without them. One was cheese. The other one was a cross between mayo and tartar. They were perfect with the sandwich. The toastea tastes better with them. I was so thirst after having consumed a ton of sodium at lunch that I actually had both 3Q sparkling mango green teas that evening. It was a first for me. I normally have one immediately and the other the following day. Both drinks had no sugar and half ice. I didn't have the option to go less ice, but it didn't matter all that much. It was such a hot day that half ice sounded inviting! The drinks were divine. I loved the carbonation in them. Bubbles rule! They feel fancy when you drink them. Sparkling drinks are more enjoyable if the option is there. The 3Q toppings were pearls, coconut jelly, and sago. They were the perfect trifecta in these drinks. You got chewiness, a bit of sweetness, and different textures to devour while sipping on the perfect combination of mango flavour with perfectly brewed green tea. I loved this place so much that on my final full day in Ottawa, I ordered takeout from Tealive again for dinner. My order was the same, except that I tossed in Japanese strawberry shortcake. It did feel like a carbon copy of my visit. Even my order the second time felt like my first visit. The same sandwich and sparking bubble teas were yummy and consistent. I was impressed. The Japanese strawberry shortcake was delicious. It was the perfect portion, with layers of cake, whipped cream, and strawberry puree. I am normally not a huge fan of whipped cream, but I enjoyed how subtle it was. The strawberry flavour was spot on. I loved that it tasted like real strawberries. The strawberry slice on top was a nice touch. The cake was moist and fluffy. This dessert hit the spot. My sweet tooth was happy. This place was awesome! I long to return to try more toasteas, drinks, and desserts. This place had macarons. I'll need to get some next time. Toronto and its surrounding area need at least one Tealive. Please come here! So the Tealive in Chinatown is finally opened! It's where the Chatime used to be. It's the first Tealive location in Canada but opened without much fanfare. However, it was pretty busy when I went on a Saturday afternoon. I got a regular-sized Signature Pearl Milk Tea ($5.60) with no sugar and half ice, and also an Original Popcorn Chicken (which is $7.80 if you buy it alone, but $6.90 if you buy it with a drink). The drink was pretty small and had a lot more ice than I expected. However, the taste was good and they gave me lots of pearls relative to the size of the drink. The tea flavour was strong enough and the drink was creamy, but not overly so. No sugar was truly no sugar, unlike some places where I ask for no sugar but the drink somehow is so sweet. If the amount of ice I got was truly half, I would hate to see what regular ice looks like, lol. I had so much ice leftover and was finished the liquid part of my drink in a few sips. I had to scoop out the pearls with the straw at the end as the cup was just ice and pearls. The straw is a paper straw and held up much better than I thought it would. Points of environmental friendliness. The popcorn chicken was disappointing to me. It tasted like the popcorn chicken I get at Loblaws or Real Canadian Superstore. If I'm going to get popcorn chicken at a Bubble Tea joint, I expect it to taste better than grocery store popcorn chicken. It was mostly batter and the seasoning was unremarkable. To add insult to injury, the portion size was tiny for the price. However, it came in a paper cup with wooden skewers as the utensil, so again, kudos for being environmentally conscious. I waited quite a while for my drink and food, but they were busy, and they are new, so I will forgive the (lack of) speed of the service. They were friendly at least. Although they almost forgot to give me the discount on the popcorn chicken for buying a drink. I had to remind them. They do have these very interesting looking sandwiches that they call Toasties. I will return to try them and also to try their fruit teas. Definitely willing to give these guys a chance, but for now I'm rating 3 stars. I finally decided to try this place, unfortunately not a fan of bubble tea personally but I've been told it's tasty by friends who drink the bubbles. The salted caramel iced latte is amazing! This is a relatively new bubble tea place, and Ottawa and Ottawa is quite saturated with quite a few options. There are traditional places like Coco and cha time. I find this location to be very comparable to those are chains. There is alot more seating than I imagined, easy place to have a chat or study before it becomes popular soon I think that's nice about that is they have quite a few options available, and a funky ass that you can choose all your options and toppings from. I think the strength of this location as that there's a selection of many matcha drinks that are not available at Every location and this includes speciality matcha options, such as much as strawberry matcha. My daughter got us some bubble tea at Tealive. It was great. She got us some pearl milk tea and something called 3Q mango green tea. It had pearls, sago and jelly. My daughter is very healthy and is trying to get us to be the same so she got the mango one without sugar and the milk one with 30% sugar (I read this on the stickers on the teas, haha). The drinks still tasted good. I didn't miss the missing sugar. The pearls were chewy and didn't stick together, so they were fresh. My daughter told me they are opening a Tealive closer to my house in Orleans. Can't wait! read more

Tealive opens late! Great for late night boba craving. Their service is quick and efficient. Although we came at 10pm, they had fresh pearls. Aside from drinks, they have a large selection of savory food and fresh baked desserts. Would definitely come back to try the food next time! read more

Wow! I was definitely skeptical because TeaLive took over the old Chattime and the colour scheme was the same so I thought it was a re-vamped Chattime but I was pleasantly surprised. We came in a little later in the evening and they still had fresh pearls. Staff were patient with as we took our time making our decision. We were able to customize sugar levels (some bbt places don't allow ice & sugar customization on certain specialty drinks), so I was pleasantly surprised. They were also very efficient. It didn't take more than 5 minutes for both our drinks to be ready. The ambiance was nice and cool. I loved the walls (should've taken more pics of the interior). TeaLive has been added to our roster for regular bbt spots. read more
