A mixed 6 with hot pepper cream cheese. Always ask for a freezer bag! :)

The Kanata location seems to be run by high school age kids when I've been. Drive thru and eat-in. Awesome to see them working. But, service is a 3. I love the drive thru option. I like the healthier whole wheat bagels but of course, the other bagels are more yummy and moist. Their red pepper "hot" cream cheese is my fave and what a treat! Really good in my pasta dishes too at home! Coffee is good. $1 inside for any size!!! I met a good friend here to catch up and there was never any rush to leave. On a weekday, mid day, no crowds. Place is clean. We had bagel sandwiches here. Very basic, quite expensive but everything is pricy these days. Check your order. They missed the bacon on my bagel and I'm glad I Iooked before I sat down. Will be back often and would recommend to anyone.

Great bagel at a decent price. Love the variety since others can't make the same. Love dill and cheddar with dill pickle cream cheese.

There are three ordering stations. One for pastries and truffles, one for straight bagels, and one for coffee, sandwiches/bagels w/ cream cheese, ect. It took us a while to figure it out, but the staff were helpful. I ordered a sesame bagel with garlic and herb cream cheese. Hubs got a latte and the kids got a buttered bagel and fries (which comes with a paprika seasoning on top of the fries). Bagel was nice and thick, and a tad sweet. Of course I am going to compare bagels, but it gave me flashbacks to St-Viateur Bagel in Montreal. Cream cheese tasted homemade and not as salty as Kettelmans bagels. The bagels were good, and I'd go back again, but I prefer Kettlemans.

The man said that will be tricky because the chai mix is already sweetened, so he can put in less mix but the chai flavour would be less pronounced. I said I was ok with that. He was right, that my drink had a very subtle tea flavour, which I was expecting. Fortunately, I was happy with the level of sweetness of the drink. It wasn't overly sweet. It was also fairly rich and creamy. What I wasn't too thrilled about though, was the excessive amount of ice in the cup. Like half of the cup was ice :( The shop sells bagels, as per its name, as well as deli meets, desserts, some shelf stable goods, as well as a good selection of bulk Jelly Belly jelly beans, which are very popular with kids. They have some seating inside as well as outside in front of the shop. It'll update if I return to try their bagels, but I likely will not return for any iced drinks, since the cup is mostly ice. Street parking only.

Nice, faint crunch on the exterior, soft interior with still some bite to make it a delicious bagel. We enjoyed the classic kettlemen bagel sandwich which had smooth cream cheese, salty capers and rich and fatty smoked salmon. Everything worked really well with the fresh bagel. 5/5. We also tried the oven roasted chicken bagel sandwich. The chicken was okay, it works as a sandwich but not my favorite. 4/5 but the bagel carries this. Price is not bad for lunch meal.

I do frequent this location from time to time and the building does need some maintenance and a good deep clean. This location is probably the second busiest location that I have ventured into, aside from Bank street. The interior is starting to show some wear and tear. The last time that I was here, which was early December of this year, the whole entrance, leading up the cash was a puddle. They had a fan next to the cash/display case to try and air out the restaurant. There was dried splatter on most of the art on the wall. Bathrooms were lacking hand soap and not clean. The restaurant did not feel clean. Service was friendly, ,bagel was fine. They have added some new items to the menu, like tater tots, which were really hard, burnt and just not good. They also reduced the size of the pickles that they serve with the bagels to a sliver. Its quiet humorous. It used to be a quarter of a pickle (Take a look at my past photos that I uploaded). If you are in the area, and craving a bagel, they do make some of the best in the city, but best to grab them and bring them home.

This was perfect location wise just being a short distance from our hotel. Getting into the area early Saturday morning meant tons of street parking so that was no issue. Stepping inside they have plenty of seating and I can imagine it would be a perfect spot to study for college classes for the students. The space was open and felt inviting. Service was friendly and quick with no issues. One worker taking care of drinks while another worked on the food with the one more free taking orders. They have most of what you would expect a coffee spot to have drink wise for both coffee and teas with seasonal and special flavors too. Food wise they have loads of breakfast and lunch bagel sandwich options with a good variety of bagel flavors to change it up as well. Drink wise my wife got their pumpkin latte seasonal and loved it, while I got the Brown Sugar Cinnamon Latte that was solid once mixed a little more. Food wise we both liked the sound of their Lumberjack that came with two eggs, bacon, sausage, cheese, and a maple syrup drizzle. We differed on our bagel choice with my wife picking cinnamon raisin and I chose cinnamon French toast. Both bagels were delicious and well made and the sandwiches were tasty just would likely ask for either lighter maple syrup or none next time. Made quite a mess and made it a bit too sweet but no real complaints. We were happy to try this spot out and would be a spot we would frequent if we were local! Good drinks and tasty bagels with really endless choices for sandwiches when you consider all the bagel choices. If you want a bagel meal if you are in the area check this place out!

I am a sucker for create your own bowls filled with veggies and sauces. I looked over the menu beforehand and had an idea of what I wanted. My husband was not too familiar with this place, so he just followed my lead. We were both greeted right away when we walked into the very clean restaurant. Service was friendly, and the staff was super patient and walked us through everything. We both settled on the grain bowl. I topped mine with tzaziki, spicy harissa, shredded lettuce, red cabbage, red beet quinoa, pickled peppers, pickled onion and tomato and cucumbers. I got the vegan option for protein which is the zucchini fritters, and topped it all off with lemon tahini thyme dressing. I also got a side pita and a vegan granola ball for the kid. I found the bowl OK. It was very pretty, but I am not sure if I did my best creating it. It was missing some acidity and nothing really stood out. I would skip the spicy harissa next time as I was not a fan of it. I also did not like the zucchini fritters, which I was so looking forward to trying. On a positive note, the red beet quinoa was amazing. My hubby had the same thoughts about his bowl and was not wow'd. The star of the show was that pita. It was fresh and chewy. I think next time I go, I will try out a wrap.

The whole "salad/grain bowl movement" was new to Ottawa and the Mediterranean flair of PiRho Grill reeled me in. I spoke with Tom, one of the owners, and even back then he was thinking of opening up multiple locations. I urged him to open one in Westboro, but it hasn't happened yet (Tom, if you're reading this, please think about it, the only salad place I have in my 'hood is Freshii, of which I am not a fan. I don't like tasteless and spongy chicken, please help me out! Lol). Anyway, they opened up the location downtown on Elgin next, then this one on Hazeldean in Kanata. Maybe it's because the Barrhaven location was where I had my first taste of PiRho Grill and thus has a special place in my heart, but I found the food not as flavourful at this Kanata location. It's still really good, and in my opinion so much better than the national chains of salad places, just not as good as the Barrhaven location ;) I had the salad bowl ($12.25) and chose a mix of all the greens. For my dips I got the eggplant one and the red pepper hummus. For my protein I got half chicken and half baked zucchini cakes (so I got 1 cake). For toppings I got cucumber and tomato salad, roasted beet quinoa, red cabbage and crumbled feta. I was really tempted to get the pita crisps because they are really good, but I'm trying to limit my carbs and reduce my gluten intake, albeit to the chagrin of my taste buds. For the dressing, I got it on the side and I got the yogurt dill, which tastes a little like tzatziki. Service was friendly and efficient. During this Covid-19 Pandemic staff were wearing masks. We were in Stage 3 of re-openings so indoor dining was allowed and their indoor dining space was open. They also have patio seating. I took my food to go and did my favourite thing: ate in my car! Yep, the secret's out, I love eating alone in my car parked in a parking lot or on the street. I did this long before the Pandemic, I just appear less weird doing it now! If I really like ya, I'll invite you to eat in my car with me, but this invitation has been extended to very few people (and now with the Pandemic even less people, lol). Alright, enough about me and my idiosyncrasies, back to the restaurant... So the restaurant is in a plaza with lots of free parking. It's in the same plaza as Chocolats Favoris, Starbucks, and Farm Boy. Definitely worth checking out if you're in Kanata and like salad or grain bowls. They have wraps as well!
