2.5 STARS Before heading out to dinner, I met up a few friends for drinks. They were already seated at a table for four when I arrived, so I just joined them. I showed up on Thursday, October 18th a little after 5:30pm. I wanted to try their Barrel Aged Manhattan, but apparently they were out, so I just got a Templeton Rye Manhattan ($15). Though I thought I ordered a Bulleit Rye one. Maybe they keyed it in wrong? Regardless, the drink was a little light on rye. I like my manhattans more spirit forward. The vibe here is your standard hotel bar. Pricey cocktails and a mellow crowd. You can easily find a seat as there weren't that many people here. Fine for a round. Though I'd rather go to a place with better cocktails. read more

This restaurant is very convenient if you are staying at the hotel. Waiter Stuart was a delight. The best things on the menu were the salmon topper ($12) for a salad ($15) snd the burger ($27). The atmosphere in the restaurant was simple, but enhanced by bas relief abstract wall murals that were lit dramatically at night. The hummus came with one small piece of pita ($12) and when I asked for more I was told "they" charge an extra $2. Not very generous. Overall fine for a hotel restaurant dinner. Breakfast is either the buffet (no a la carte) or a grab-n-hi with $7 scones. I'm This would have been fine if you could order a la carte in the restaurant, but not everyone has the time or appetite or $35 for a big big buffet breakfast every day. We discovered Heist on Post which became our happy place for breakfast/brunch. So far, 3 stars. After all, hotel restaurants have many objectives to satisfy and this restaurant was fine. The disappointment, however, was the bar, which had the decor and ambiance of a high school cafeteria and large groups commandeered multiple tables on Saturday night. Not glamorous, chic, relaxing, hipster, cool or even quiet. And, at 11:30 they turned the lights full on to signal closing time. I think I'll try the Hotel Niko lounge next door instead. read more

The chicken wings were tasteless and dry. Not sure where the garlic flavor was. What I received did not match up with the image here. I am staying in the hotel and was pretty disappointed in my first night. Also, the fries are not fresh cut potatoes. Seemed to be frozen shoe string fries but plentiful. YELP 100 CHALLENGE 2017: 10/100. FIFTH OF FIVE SPOTS FOR NYE! The final stop for the NYE barhop! There wasn't suppose to be a fifth stop. Hubbers and I were on our way to the Bart since we wanted to get home early enough to ring in the New Year. BUT! We walked by Parc 55 and Hubbers recalled meeting a college buddy here awhile back and remembered enjoying it. He was hoping to repeat the same experience for the night. It's a really nice looking hotel! It's very well decorated and I love the open space! Took the escalators up one flight and there we were. I love the open concept lounge so Hubbers and I took the closest available table. It wasn't long before our server, Patrick, came by with menus. Since this was our last stop for the night, we thought we'd grub on something a little light to go with our drinks. But we didn't. Mediterranean tapas it is! (The description was just too attractive! We couldn't fathom the idea of leaving without trying it!) Got a beer, Hubbers got a cocktail, and ten minutes later came the platter. Hummus was a good pair with the pita. Eggplant was a tad bit undercooked, but edible. Olives were marinated well (I wish they didn't have seeds, but still good.) Zucchini fritters weren't greasy or soggy - also good. The feta cheese with roasted peppers were a good mix. Overall, I felt the cost was justified. They must have been a bit understaffed as I see Patrick everywhere, but he didn't fail at it. Kudos! It was a great way to end the night in the city. Would come by again given the chance! (On a side note, Hubbers and I made it home with 10 minutes to spare! Happy 2017 indeed!) read more

I know this is a hotel restaurant/bar, but it's kind of shocking how few reviews Cable 55 has (only nine??). It makes sense that locals don't really make their way here (except for me, apparently), but no reviews from tourists either? Then again, in a foodie haven like SF, there are tons of better places to go to while in town. Like Kin Khao, which is right on the other side of Parc 55's lobby... Unfortunately for my buddy and I though, we ran into a larger than normal crowd waiting outside of Kin Khao. Since it was getting late and we were pretty hungry, we opted to give Cable 55 a shot, rather than to hunt down something else in Union Square. Plus, I had stopped by once before for a drink, so it gave me the perfect chance to write a review (ha!). Much like the rest of the hotel, Cable 55 has a modern and contemporary look to it. It's also surprisingly large, with a bunch of tables in the "dining area", as well as in the lounge section adjoining the bar. The drink menu is similarly sized, with an extensive variety of wines, beers, and cocktails to choose from, but the food menu is actually pretty limited. While it offers a fair number of starters/appetizers, there were only about a half dozen entrees available. With so few options to pick from, it didn't long to decide on getting the GOLD COAST REUBEN (Pastrami, Swiss Cheese, Sauerkraut, and Whole Grain Mustard on Rye Bread with my choice of Fries over salad...$18). Although it could've used more pastrami, and despite not liking the sauerkraut very much, this wasn't too shabby. The meat was flavorful, everything blended together pretty well, and the bread was really good. Plus, the fries were cooked well, even though they were oddly pale. As decent as the sandwich may have been, and as friendly and helpful as the service was, I honestly can't give anything more than just three stars. It's a given that everything is going to cost a few bucks more at hotel restaurants, but Cable 55 felt especially pricey (their burger and cobb salad are both $22!). Not bad in terms of taste, and potentially a good spot to grab some drinks, but hardly the best value, even when considering how expensive SF is. read more

This is a Hilton Hotel restaurant/bar. It's really nice looking hotel. It's very well decorated and I love the open concept lounge. Took the escalators up one flight and there we were. I got to try Cable 55 whenever my friend suggested that we have dinner here. The place was quite crowded, I think we ended up waiting for 10 mins until we got seated. I like Cable 55's food and atmosphere. It was pretty cool. I got chop salad, surf turf earth, and Mediterranean tapas which was hummus&pitas, roasted Brussels sprouts, beer and mazcal margarita. I enjoyed all the foods here. Customer service was good. It was a great way to end the night in the city. I would come by again given the chance. read more

After some last minute Christmas Eve shopping in San Francisco I stopped by Cable55 for a much needed glass of wine. My favorite bartender Stuart was working on the floor so I sat in his section and enjoyed some great conversation and that glass of wine. Fantastic service and atmosphere. read more

Tried to eat here while I was staying here and was basically told I couldn't afford it by the hostess and encouraged to go elsewhere.. here for work and could've expensed it but wasn't gonna argue. Tony our server has the best customer service I've experienced out here AND on top of that this is the craziest busiest time right after the Warriors parade. He was the only one working and busting his tail off. I work in the service industry in Las Vegas and he provided the best serviced and excelled in it. To say the least, he exceeded expectations. There was so many people even inpatient people and he still maintained the same positive attitude and still took the time to check on us with every table booked. Honestly I would bring Tony to Las Vegas to come work for my luxury service property in Vegas because he's that damn good. Cable 55 is the restaurant/bar/lounge located on the 2nd floor of the Parc 55 Hotel. 1. Yes, its convenient. Its located within the hotel afterall, just off of the lobby area. The space is comprised of the main restaurant, bar, and lounge seating areas. 2. Yes, they're open from morning till night. HOWEVER, if you're checking into the hotel later in the evening, or thinking of a late snack/bite, please be aware that food service ends 1100pm. Last call for drinks is around 1130pm. This information was obtained via yelp messaging with the restaurant, as I sent a them a message specifically asking about their correct business hours. 3. Yes, there is happy hour! Drafts beers and house red and white wine on special during this hour of happy. The hour of happy is 400-600pm. Cheers! 4. Yes, food menu available in the bar area. 5. Yes, service is friendly. Breakfast buffet: the food was great and freshly cooked. It was very organized and clean. The breakfast servers were very prompt and attentive to our needs. Melonna and Tara seat us everyday and were very efficient. They greet us every morning, they even remembered our room numbers. They seat us very comfortably and made sure that the servers are informed of our presence. Michelle, the one who checked us in was very fast and efficient even the line turned to be long, we didn't wait too long and everything was precise and have what we needed. We didn't have to ask any questions. The ambiance is very clean and inviting. We stayed there for 3 nights. We stayed there the previous year and we came back because it's clean and the security is on point. Which we really appreciate and keeps us safe. I just hope they change the elevators to be activated with a key card like their restrooms in the lobby. Other than that it will still be our first choice when we come back to San Francisco. We had some drinks and dessert at night too. It was pretty busy. I hope there were more servers. Good for people watching; on the 2nd floor of the Parc 55 hotel - tons of windows - looks out over Market St a bit. Open seating; wherever you can find space. Food is average; but variety of choices - coupla good burgers; crab toast; solid flatbreads; some good salads; and a unique thing called "surf, turf, and earth" which has fish tacos, steak, and a vegetable chimichanga.
