I've been thinking of remodeling my kitchen for at least 10 years. The process started by sitting down at Lowe's with one of their kitchen designers and getting a free layout and cabinet estimate. Over the next 10 years I took that Lowe's layout to no less than a dozen cabinet companies to get their pricing. The pricing always came in around $10,000+ (except for one importer who sold cheap, rather than good cabinets in a limited number of styles and colors. None of which we liked.) Then a month ago, driving north on Gary avenue in Carol Stream I just happened to spot this place and thought I'd try again to price out the Lowe's design because we were now ready to do something. I went into the place and immediately started walking around. I didn't wait for a sales person because I wasn't sure if I'd like the place and didn't want some fast-talking salesman to start accosting me for my business. I'd looked for a few minutes before I was approached by Jim, a pleasant older gentleman. He was nice so I told him what I was looking for and we casually discussed a few options. I told him I had the Lowe's kitchen design and he said he'd be happy to price it out with the cabinets I liked (he didn't want to see their pricing). I emailed him the design minus the prices and he came back with some design drawings. We talked some more over email and I asked him to stop by my house to see my kitchen. He did and we had a great conversation and we got ideas for other ways to do the kitchen. After looking at the kitchen, Jim put together everything we liked, added in the monthly manufacturer promotions, and ended up THOUSANDS less than any other quality cabinet place. So today we visited the showroom to go over every part of the cabinet order before putting down a deposit. After all was said and done, even after we added many pullout drawers, did some upgrading and getting some trim pieces (not on the original Lowe's design), he beat my 10 year old barebones Lowe's kitchen design price by over $1,500! I can't recommend Jim and this place strongly enough. (I'll let you know if things don't go smoothly once we receive the cabinets.) read more

Updated review after having it for 3 years: We've had the kitchenette, bar with built in kegerator, and theater cabinets for a few years and they are all still very beautiful. I added more pictures (sorry for the darkness). The basement is always met with ooohs and aaahhhs and still looks brand new! We love it! I always recommend cabinets and granite direct and Jim for helping us save money (lots) and help our vision come true! FYI... we installed ourselves (it wasn't hard). See previous review. read more

Be leery of their installers and standing behind the quality of the work. Under mount sink detached in less than 2 years. When I called CGD they said they do not use those installers anymore and it will be $500 for another installer to reglue. I then had 2 non CGD installers quote me and one laughed when he saw the job - no clips used and poor install. The second installer also said it was not a good install. read more

You get what you pay for. I'm not usually up for cliched phrases, but this one really holds true for anything in the home remodeling sphere. Yes, I whined (to myself and to my husband) about the cost of custom cabinets and granite at C&G Direct, but I'm super happy with the quality of the product that showed up at my doorstep a few weeks back. The rep we worked with, Anna, was on point from start to finish. She was quick to answer questions, helped us design a counter and cabinet structure that would work best for our daughters' bathroom and followed up with our contractor when one cabinet door arrived less than stellar. Their showroom is quite lovely and you can get a nice picture of what your potential kitchen/bath will look like when all is said and done. Yes, we paid extra for our white cabs, but the quality is there, it looks awesome with the new counters, and said cabinets were crafted just a few states over. #worthit read more

I do not usually do reviews but I must try and save other people from experiencing what happened to us. Our cabinets were supposed to be here between 10-12 and did not show up till after 2:00. And they forgot two items from my order. Which they brought out later that evening only to find out that one of the 2 items was scratched. The side panel for the dishwasher had almost white stripes on the espresso finish. We then decided to open a cabinet to check the quality. While examining we noticed that the color was nothing like the sample that we got or the same color as on the floor. The cabinets are not even glued together. They have staples holding them together. You can pretty much pull them apart with your hands. I then called to complain and I was told that we have to pay a 35% re stocking fee if we want to return them. Which is absolutely crazy to think you have to pay 35% for a product that is not what you are led to believe you are buying to return. The colors don't even come close to matching! So they decided to send someone out to see what I am talking about. They were supposed to leave at 1030 to come my way and didn't leave until much later. They called me to say they would be here at 12:30 and I told them I wouldn't be able to make it because I was out for lunch and that 1:00 would be ok for me. We rushed back to meet them at one. Well they didn't show up till 1:50 to look at the product. And guess why?! Because the worker fell alseep In his car down the street while he was waiting for me. This company does not care about customer service at all . Save your self a headache and buy elsewhere . You wrote the exact same response on Facebook and here is my response to that There was zero communication from you end on any change of delivery time. Your website states made in America. Not some made in America and others made in China. Am I correct? I am. I was not emailed a receipt from jim and was never told about a re stocking fee. Your associates came to pick up the product today and you should have seen how they were throwing the product into your truck. The cabinets are not even finished on all sides. I asked the gentleman that fell asleep waiting for me if I should open any others to see color but the issue Is not just the color. It was that you can pull them apart with your hands, and he said there was no need to. Besides the side panel for the dishwasher as well as the filler panels were not of proper color. So based on what he told me there was no need to open more. There was no phone call on either occasions to say you would be late. However when you all were going to be late for picking the product up to return back to you I got a call to say you would be late . How convenient of you and your company. And as for the stain it looked like it was spray painted with a can of spray paint . As well if you stand behind your product why did you remove my wife's review of you on your Facebook page? That is not an honest snapshot of your company then if you remove poor reviews. Shame on you and your company. read more

I stopped in and met with Roger, he was very knowledgeable and showed me different options, brought my wife back, and was very helpful explaining to her and me. We purchased cabinets for a bathroom vanity. They are very high quality and built very strong , the price was great we ended up buying a Quartz countertop from him the delivery was spot on, the install for the countertop was great and even got a follow-up call to see how everything went. Met with Roger Martinez for kitchen design, excellent prices for good quality in stock white shaker style cabinets and quartz countertops (we were looking for value oriented option for kitchen cabinets). Roger was very detail oriented and planned for every item we would need. We ordered cabinets on a Wednesday, everything was delivered perfectly the following Friday, and we received 2 pre-delivery calls to confirm delivery details. The countertops were measured exactly 1 week after cabinets were delivered. All the trades working in house are very impressed with quality of the cabinets. We're very pleased and cannot say enough good things about Roger and Cabinets and Granite Direct. read more

AMAZING! I cannot say enough good things about Paige Han and her team, at Cabinets and Granite Direct, in Carol Stream. I would highly recommend using her, her company, cabinets and countertop offerings. To our great misfortune, my husband and I were an one of those unfortunate couples that, no matter how much background and reference research we did, still end up with a horrible contractor that takes them for thousands of dollars and does bad work. This is where Paige and CGD provided some needed sunshine to our stormy lives! We came in for a Saturday afternoon appointment, with a depressingly diminished budget, and lowered expectations, and - after working with Paige - left happily with a renewed sense of hope in our remodel and a beautiful - and in working with people who have OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE and BUSINESS ETHIC! We were able to find beautiful, quality, hardwood, stock kitchen cabinets that were below our budget and delivered to our house in an expedited amount of time, with no additional charge. Our (new) contractors were able to install them with no issues and when any minimal questions occurred were quickly and easily able to have them addressed. Once the cabinets were in, we then worked with her (INSANELY) fast and professional counter-top people to be measured and installed in a week. We are THRILLED with the overall product! (We are still working on the kitchen finishing, but once completed will post photos.) In addition to my 1/26/18 review. Now I have my under cabinet lighting hanging along with extra holes drilled into my cabinets. I was never told another set of holes would be drilled. The photos are an example of how this company follows up with their customers after the work has been completed. They don't! They are unresponsive to address their poor craftsmanship after the job has been paid for. Time to contact the BBB. As indicated in the photo this was the window sill installation. I had to caulk it myself to make it tolerable looking. read more

I recently bought kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities from Sherry A. and I highly recommend her and CGD to family and friends!! This was such an overwhelming project for me and I drove her crazy with numerous design ideas and changes, but she was nothing but patient and understanding the whole time. The quality of the service and the cabinetry I received was everything I expected and more and the prices are unbeatable. Stop in and check it out! Insanely awful company. I would give negative stars if I could. Starting with measuring wrong, which caused them to short us on our countertops, over hangs are too small and we have huge gaps on the wall that they filled with caulk, 1" gaps!!!! Our sink was installed wrong, only 2 brackets and no adhesive, it FELL OUT! No dishwasher mounting bracket was installed. They gave us a seamed countertop even though we paid for 1 piece and that's what we agreed on. They caused thousands in damage to our new cabinets. Scraps, gouges, dents in multiple cabinets and panels. They even applied so much force to install the counters that they busted the screws that hold the cabinets together causing major gapping in the cabinet face, Awful. They chipped the countertops and they "fixed" it by putting crazy glue in the chip and coloring it with a sharpie marker. And they refused to properly fix and pay for the damages they caused. Aside of wanting to used "wood filler" and sharpie markers to cover the extreme damages. read more

CGD were amazing! Especially Jasmine! I worked with her throughout a flip project and she was very efficient. She helped me with ordering bathroom floors, a custom kitchen backsplash and quartz countertops. Everything was done very quickly and I had my order within DAYS. They really went out of their way to help us with our countertops. Because we were working on a flip we had to stay within a certain budget, and she gave us a deal- we are extremely grateful for them and they truly care about their customers needs and wants. Her email responsiveness was also very quick, which is important for me since I work full time, and can't chat on the phone often. To top it off, Jasmine sent a card and a starbucks gift card after thanking us for our business. WHAT companies do that nowadays??!!! No one!! Truly a great experience working with her! read more

I am EXTREMELY dissatisfied with ordering cabinets from Cabinets and Granite Direct (Stone works) and would never recommend them to anyone. After purchasing cabinets, we were told delivery would be 5-6 weeks. When the 6th week arrived, WE called CGD for a status update and found out the order was never placed or checked. Not only did this move our project time line back and extra 3 weeks but also cost us more. We demolished our kitchen based on the original timeline and had to be without a kitchen for longer, incurring extra expenses due to their mistake. Their compensation for this mistake was giving us roll out shelving free, which we never needed or wanted in the first place. The customer service at this company is nonexistent. We had to keep calling for updates and even after the cabinets arrived and some damaged we had to keep following up. Glad my project is done and we had a skilled contractor who was flexible enough to move his schedule and fix all the issues with these cheap cabinets. Save yourself money and time. Go to Home depot or anywhere else! read more

We were remodeling our bathroom and only needed a vanity cabinet to match an existing medicine cabinet. Even though this was a very small order, Jasmine gave us plenty of attention and help. She went out of her way to help us find the cabinet that matched our medicine cabinet. We then ordered a second cabinet for more storage. We couldn't be happier with the quality of our two pieces and the customer service we received for such a small order. When it comes time to re-do our kitchen, we will happily go back to CGD. read more

Yikes! It has been a while since I've experienced such terrible customer service from an employee outside of the food or retail environment. I work in the real estate industry and own investment/rental property so I'm pretty well versed in the process and know the industry standard when it comes to customer relations in the field of home renovation services and materials. I went in to get an estimate on granite countertops on one of my rental properties. I had decided to stop in since this particular establishment as it is relatively new in our area. I was prepared with a detailed floor plan and was expecting to meet with a sales associate and sit down to discuss exactly what I was looking for and to determine which if any of their products would be the best cost-effective fit for this property. Here instead is what I met with: I walked into a desolate store on a Saturday morning. One woman was sitting at her desk working and another man was walking towards the front of the store...no one even acknowledged that I had entered the store. After announcing my arrival and stating that I was looking for an estimate on countertops the man walked over to me and said "OK." To which I stated again that I would like an estimate and could he please go over some pricing with me for countertops for a rental property. I knew the name of the specific stone I wanted which I shared with the associate. After being notified that they were out of stock he also decided to inform me that the stone I wanted was a terrible choice and that I should go with a different and (not so shockingly) more expensive option. This is after he had invested absolutely zero time in inquiring about the project at hand. I informed him that the specific stone was the one I needed based on various reasons (though I doubt he cared to know) to which he again responded that it was a terrible choice and that I would regret it. At that point I knew with certainty that he in no way wanted any personal investment in my business or this project. I am always willing to listen to the advice of professionals and have avoided many potentially costly mistakes by doing so BUT since this associate had no idea about the details of the project and clearly had a disinterest in doing so I chose to go with another vendor who takes pride in their service. I will not be coming back here and will suggest other vendors to my clients who need work handled regarding cabinetry or countertops. read more

This store is a complete joke! I was in their last week and I cannot believe the way I was treated there! I walked in and was not greeted at all. When I went up to ask for help the young girl in their simply said "what do you need?" With a very unpleasant face, wow just WOW!! I decided to just look around a bit with no help. Not a single person came up to me to help me the entire hour I was in their. As I finally was heading out the door a young man came out from the warehouse with glasses and asked if any of the sales associates had helped me. I explained what happened and he apologized for the lack of customer service and asked if I would like to speak to the general manager, I respectfully declined and thanked him for being the only one to help me. I came in ready to purchase cabinets and countertops for a 5 story condominium building from here after being referred to this company, after going their and telling a few associates of mine about my experience, they went in only to experience the same horrendous service I received. I highly DON'T reccomend Cabinets & Granite Direct to anyone. read more
