Cabin Coffee has been open for a week, and I stopped to get a hot beverage on Saturday morning. The restaurant was well staffed, and employees were still learning, but the atmosphere was upbeat and positive. I got a tumbleweed beverage. It has a spicy flavor to it that was a little hard to get used to, but it was unique and different. I will definitely explore more hot beverage concoctions or smoothies in the future. There are some breakfast and lunch sandwich items on the menu as well. Several tables and seating areas are available for those who wish to stay and enjoy their food and drink. It's a little crowded right by the counter where I assume you pick up your drink, but the employees also walked out to the main area to delivery food and drink. I know it's new, but hopefully they feel comfortable calling out the names when items are ready - my drink took a full tour of the restaurant before I saw it walk by with my name on it, so I voluntarily asked for it. There is a drive-through in this location which appeared to be quite popular. There is also a smaller private room which can be reserved. Cabin Coffee will be a nice addition for a "fancy" coffee drink in town or a spot to grab lunch.

Great morning coffee on our trip through Winterset! Our kids also liked the cinnamon rolls.

Their coffee taste like flavoring and their food taste like nothing. Save your money, better luck at McDonald's.

Looking for a place to grab lunch while doing my civic duty I came across Petite Cafe…read more What a hidden gem of a coffee shop. I am going to say the gals name at the front was Sasha and I loved her warm welcoming energy. I got a mocha latte and it was gorgeous. The flavor was fantastic. I need a larger size of this next time. Loved the foam and deep mocha flavor was phenomenal. Made my lunch trip worth it and I knew then that the food was going to hit well. I got the BLTA and added the chicken after asking Sasha about it. She suggested adding the spicy mayo and the suggestion was spot on. What a delightful sandwich. The sourdough had a hard crust but a soft center toasted to perfection. The creamy avocado was velvet smooth mixed with the spicy mayo, crisp lettuce, juicy tomato, crispy smoky bacon, and the tender chicken was incredible flavor that left you satisfied. Just a wonderful lunch experience and then the bells starting playing the star spangled banner. Listen to my video, sorry it's short I didn't want to accidentally record someone. I feel like Sasha should have given a warning about how addictive this was, but then in away she had. She mentioned there can be a long line in the morning and I can see why that would be. I can't wait to go back and get this sandwich again. I would recommend her suggestion on the spicy mayo. Chocolate & Caramel Chunk Cookie with Sea Salt. Oh my goodness don't sleep on this cookie. Crisp edge with nice chunks of chocolate and caramel and the salt just sends it next level. Feel like I need this in a brown butter version as well. This was the trifecta of lunch- Latte, Sandwich, and Cookie. Made doing my civic duty a little better because now I had a solid lunch option and a reason to go back. I also need to try a scone when I return. I also learned they have a chicken salad sandwich on croissant so now I am trying to make it back so I can sample that. There are some really good options on the menu and they have local coffee plus everything you would expect in a gem of a coffee shop. The service was stellar and the vibe was warm and welcoming. Got a cookie for my lady so $32 I believe with $5 tip and the chicken is worth the add on. A great value for lunch with quality fresh ingredients and the cookie is large.

Tried the traditional, which was my favorite, we also had a Lemon, and Cinnamon Sugar. They were all great. Wife said she enjoyed the Lemon. There is another flavor called Holy Hot, but we didn't try it. Also, added a half order of the biscuits and gravy, which was very good. We also each got coffee. I got an iced coffee and my wife ordered hot. Coffee was great as well. This is a small coffee shop, but has great service and food. Definitely worth a try. We drove out of our way for this and will do it again. Small town friendly service and atmosphere. I'd post pictures but we already ate everything. Lol

Many places to sit and eat too. We ordered coffee and their signature beignets just like New Orleans. We got the originals. They were hot and fresh and delicious. Our drinks were made and delicious as well. We had to wait on the beignets, but our waitress told us they'll be hot and fresh and they were. It was worth it. Many other things I'd like to try, but it was a quick stop. Next time I'd like to sit down and eat inside. Very quaint, very cute.
