This place is for the outdoors nature loving peeps! They have everything you need from clothing, gear, snacks and equipment. Store is laid out with different sections, fishing, hunting, boating... Lots of stuffed/mounted animals throughout the place. A lot of them are above you. There is a large display of a mountain with all sorts of animals. Also a fish take with some impressive ones. We had a good time checking out the store, especially the boats and four wheelers.. where you can climb all over the boats. read more

My favorite store the employees are nice and very helpful, I can always find what I'm looking for. Although the clothing part is to close together for my wheelchair to get through so I was unable to get the shirts I wanted. Things are well priced some stuff is expensive but worth it and other things are decently priced for what it is. read more

I haven't been to Cabela's in quite a few years. I was surprised at the women's clothes they had. I spent way more than I anticipated! Nice selection. The staff was very friendly. My one complaint is they now have "Hilton Honors Vacations" located in their store. They are not part of Cabela's or Bass Pro, but apparently have a relationship to sell you a vacation package at a cheap price. Of course there is a catch which they don't tell you. You are roped into a time share presentation when you arrive at your destination. My complaint is the one "HIlton" staff employee chased me around the women's department trying to get me come to their booth. I told her I would stop by when I was done with my shopping. She continued to bother me the entire time I shopped, giving me her style opinions. It was very annoying. read more

If you fish, hunt, camp, boat, or like the great outdoors, you should check out this store. If you don't, you should still check out this store. It's huge and if nothing else is fun to explore. They sell everything from items in categories already mentioned to clothes, shoes, household goods, food, outdoor games, endless camo items, atvs, and even boats. Cabelas was purchased by Bass Pro but maintains their name and sell some Bass Pro items. You can't miss the taxidermy animals all over the store. There's a huge display in back that has a screen in front that gives you information about different animals. I'm amazed how big some of the animals are! There's just some of these animals that I just haven't seen in the wild. I think some of their prices, especially in clothes are a bit high but appear to be good quality and I'm not necessarily sure what the prices would be in other store. I do know I've found great deals in clearance items and bought hiking boots and a coat in the past. My advise. Check it out. read more

Cabela's is a large store yet it was still really crowded. The line to cash out was quite lengthy. It's the second time within a month we have been here and they have ridiculously long lines. Today did seem to go fairly fast. They have the cutest little thing during Christmas time with Santa. They usually have fun activities for kids to do. This year thanks to covid it was dialed back to just meeting Santa. Santa was fully covid safety approved with his ppe and behind plexiglass. You have to set up an appointment to see Santa and then when you arrive they take your temperature before you go in. You walk away with a free photo and a little ornament for the kids to do. read more

I left work early to purchase and fill the forms needed at cabellas in cheektowaga ny. I got there at 3 pm of Friday 9/15. Bob, obviously didn't know how to operate a laptop had to redo the form four times! He would lost the info and had to asked me 6 times my email address. At 5 I gave up. Didn't have the form. So Saturday morning I came back and I'm waiting in line for another two hours??? I've asked the manager and he did nothing Cabellas has to better train their staff. We know about the forms but more time should not be imposed because of staff who obviously is not familiar operating a laptop. More training is needed! I'm waiting again but I might just go somewhere else to purchase guns Poor performance, poor training and poor service. read more

Cabela's is pretty neat. They're an outdoor store but that extends past hunting and fishing. They also have a good selection of clothing, camping gear, culinary stuff (dehydrator, spices, cookbooks, and more) as well as special holiday gifts this time of year (like throw blankets and such). We only came in for one item and found it right away since the store is pretty well organized. Cashing out was also pretty quick since they had multiple lines open. I came here because I thought they might have solar filters for my binoculars so that I could use them during the recent solar eclipse. They didn't, but they didn't disappoint with their service. The employee at the information desk called various departments so that I didn't need to run around myself and she was apologetic for not having what I was looking for. This was a very disappointing shopping trip to Cabelas. There were 3 things I made a special trip there for. Their website indicated they had all three items in stock. It even allowed me to put the items in my virtual cart where if I chose to, I could pay for and "Pick them up in 1 hour". Instead I opted to go to the store and buy them off the shelf. When I got there, none of the three items were on the shelves. I asked a sales person for assistance. I showed them on my phone, where their website indicated the items were in stock. Their very curt response was "the website is wrong, we don't have them". When I questioned what would happen if I purchased and paid for them on line for pickup in one hour, his response was down right nasty and dismissing. He said "go ahead and order them but you won't get them ". I insisted on speaking with a manager. He reluctantly called for one while rolling his eyes. It was no surprise that the manager was as rude as the other employee, about the misleading information on the website. Apparently, the company line that Cabelas employees tow is to be as nasty as possible to paying customers and evade taking the time to look for merchandise that their website clearly indicated are in stock somewhere in the store. Writing bad reviews are not something I take lightly. This is only the second time I have given one star to a business since I began writing reviews but when multiple employees of a business treat me the way they did, I am sure I was not the first nor will I be the last. There are not too many retail stores that I enjoy going to because of the way the staff interacts with their customers. Those types of customer service practices seem to have died, except here. The staff is always incredibly nice and helpful. Any time we've needed assistance, they take it on as a challenge to make it turn out in the customer's favor. I love this store. On 1/31/24 I went in to buy a rifle they had in stock. Too may surprise they have guns locked and are not allowed to unlock them and let customer test the action or trigger pull with a snap cap. I bought it anyway but it took several hours. My salesman disappeared during my background check for 20 minutes and no-one else was allowed to finish the check. I had to type may answers to questions and sign my name on a computer. Then he was typing for at least another 30 minutes more. Several other workers had to verify his work as part of the corporate required process. Place is a joke but I did eventually get my gun. I really miss Gun Center. Will buy elsewhere next time. Pretty great place. Awesome selection. Prices a bit on the high side but you can get great deals and a lot of items are competitive with online vendors, some however are NOT. For example the Orvis Fly Fishing reel I tried out in the store was 1/3rd cheaper when I ordered direct from the manufacturers website, despite the "sale price" offered in-store. Same goes for most of the fly fishing lines, leaders and tippett. The fly selection however was great and prices were reasonable considering you can hand pick individual flies and mix/match. One complaint however is the pricing on the flies are often marked wrong. Still for some items it's worth a trip in, as long as you do some research. The atmosphere is awesome and the best feature worthy of mention is the employees. Super helpful and go above and beyond making this otherwise 3 star a solid 4 star review. read more

My husband and I bought our ground blind here for hunting, we bought a cot here for camping, we come here for camo clothing, hunting gear, ammo, camping supplies etc. My husband considers this store to be his heaven. He would live here if he could, looking at firearms. My favorite sections though are the gift sections the dog sections :) they have candies, mugs, housewares, board games, etc. and for dogs they sell everything from dog beds to toys to gps trackers for hunting pups. I came here just to check it out. I've driven by a bunch of times and sort of thought I should see what it was, but hadn't stopped in. Then we had a Yelp event across the parking lot, and Mark said I should see it, if only to see the mountain of animals. So in I went. Around 7:30 on a Thursday night. Not very busy. If I camped I'd certainly come here to see what my options were regarding sleeping bags and other gear. I may actually buy some binoculars here sometimes soon. They have a selection of binoculars from $140 or so to over $1500. There is a gun area which I was not interested in. There's also a sign in the front saying you have to register weapons. Not going to lie, made me super uncomfortable. I just don't really want to be in a place where they assume you may be carrying and ask you to register it. But there is indeed a "mountain of animals" - looked like plastic to me. But it's kind of cool. All sorts of species represented. Then there is a bow and arrow section. I've always liked archery and other games where you hit a target, so I spent some time there. May take a class even. On the other side of this large store are things like powerboats and off road vehicles I think. I didn't go there. I'm giving three stars here - partially because it's a chain which starts it at three. Went to 2 stars with the aforementioned gun registration sign. But 4 stars for the selection of binoculars, truly one for every price range. There seemed to be a huge and varied selection of tents and sleeping bags too. Options for all. Worst purchase of a firearm ever. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of the "gun library" went to purchase a used colt that I was told they hadn't had a chance to clean it and the next day I was told they don't clean guns there because they don't have a gunsmith. Took way too long to do a simple Transaction and when I went back to pick up pistol after it was put on permit it took another 30-40 minutes. Never thought I would miss Buffalo Gun Center. Won't even address the extreme low ball Of the pieces I brought in to trade towards it. Over all it took three trips to the store to complete a simple transaction. Awful. read more

I was in a off mood when I visited one day, just needed to get out of the house, picked up some outdoor wear, and satisfied with my purchase, the best part was the cashier at the end of my shopping experience, she was very jolly, goofy and made me smile, which I was desperate in need of a smile, and this cashier was very out going and I knew I'd make a mental note and remember her name "wendy" she was just having fun. Cannot get a hold of the firearms department on the phone to ask about inventory of a specific rifle listed on their website, tried multiple times. Very annoying. I guess I'm expected to drive 40 min each way to check if they have an item in stock. Do they want to sell firearms anymore? I will update this review if anything changes. Followup: I have continued to call and after selecting firearms, It rings and rings until someone just picks up the receiver an then immediately hangs up on me. You can actually here persons talking in the background. My phone is fine I assure you. I think they really don't want to sell firearms anymore so they slow walk it and make it extremely hard on purpose. I went to the store last week to purchase a Ruger EC9S that was advertised as being on sale. I was on a time scheduled and hoped it wouldn't take long. I went to the gun counter where the employees were helping several customers. I assumed I would be next and took number. How wrong I was. After helping the other customers I noticed they were l leavinging the counter and going up front. Approximately 4-6. No one said anything or stated they would be back. I went to the other side and asked an employee who was doing paper work if everyone was gone. He stated they were probably helping other employees. I aid no sir they all just left the counter. He stated again that they were probably helping other customers and to take a number and wait. I said I already have a number. He said he was busy and take number and wait. I became frustrated and said I will take my business somewhere else. He responded: OK. Then I requested a manager and he told me go up to the customer service desk, I could probably find one there. I don't know why Cabela's has so little stars on Yelp. I love this place and I'm not even an outdoorsy person! You can literally get just about anything here. From food, fudge, weapons, clothing, cameras, ammo, camping & recreation items and even DOG TOYS! They have a huge section of dog toys and they ARE reasonably priced! Most are even cheaper than Petco and Persmart. I guess some of the other stuff could be considered pricey, but I think a lot of us are spoiled by Amazon... I love their sponge candy and licorice. I also love looking at the taxidermy! My one complaint- Some employees are significantly slower at the register then others. That's annoying. Whether they need to train their employees better or the machines are slow. I don't know. But it drives me wild when I pick the line that's barely moving when the line next to me is flying. read more

Cabelas is just Awesome no matter how you break it down. I just love it. One of sales people asked me if I needed help one time and I said " no I just love being here" and that was my honest answer. They have all of the stuff I am into. Guns and Ammo, Camping equipment and Classic Americana. They have a really really cool display of stuffed animals on this huge mountain it's really something to see. There is plenty of parking in the lot and the store is easy to navigate. The staff is professional and very courteous and helpful. The store itself is kept immaculately clean and organized. They also have a huge fireplace with some lounge chairs that you can relax in and have a cup of coffee, which you can also get there along with some snacks. I really love Cabellas it is one of my favorite places to visit. I would absolutely recommend that if you have never been here to check it out. It is such a fascinating place. read more

This is the first and only Cabela's in NY., It's a massive store with everything you could ever need for the outdoor adventurer. Camping, hunting, fishing, hiking, archery, guns, you name it, they have it. If they don't have it, it probably doesn't exist. There is a a huge parking lot and even when it's full, there are so many people coming ad going, its not an issue, plenty of HC parking also.Plenty of people working and all seemed very knowledgeable. We purchased a Regency pontoon boat from their powersports department. What a pleasurable experience. Our salesman Dean was great. Very knowledgeable and responsive to questions. Jake in finance covered everything thoroughly. Kenny in service went over all the features of the boat and motor. Mike the GM took care of the DMV work and went through the whole purchase package and explained the warranties. We never felt we were just being pushed through the system. Mike sincerely cared about us and even followed up a few days later to make sure we got home okay and if we had any additional questions. He sets the example for customer service and the other employees follow it. I cannot recommend these guys enough. read more

Take my review with a grain of salt. I'm not an outdoorsman. I don't fish. I don't hunt. I don't do any extreme outdoor activities, besides camping in our pop-up. That feels really rugged to me, but we only camp on level sites with electric in state parks, which is not exactly the great wide open. So I don't have much to say about the quality or pricing of most of the merchandise here at Cabela's. I stopped in with my husband and kids to loiter a while because my husband has started fishing. He seemed to like the lure assortment. Our kids like the giant fish tank in the middle of the store. I strolled the clothing and shoe aisles a bit. The clothes seemed pricey, I can do better at the outlet or online. But there were some nice deals on cute women's boots. They were starting to put up Christmas items, and I came across some candy sunflower seeds in cute ornaments marked 67-cents. I grabbed a handful. At checkout, they rang up $2.99 a piece. I said nah, but the cashier was like "hold on, let us check." A manager checked the signage, and honored the 67-cent price. So that was pretty sweet customer service. And what else was pretty sweet? The hot nuts at each checkout aisle. They are $5 a cone, and are warm, sweet, just the right consistency. We shared a cone of cashews in front of the fireplace by the main entrance. Not a bad way to hang as a fam'. I noticed they have some scheduled family activities here too, like Halloween photos and crafts. So we may swing back by for that. And more hot nuts. As I mentioned, I am not really rugged, but there was enough for me to do here while the hub'ster ogled the large lure and rods selection. So Cabela's gets a decent review from this suburban softy, after all. read more
