I think it's pretty hard nowadays, to find everything you need for your firearms in one place. But Wolcott does a pretty good job in providing, a very good amount of inventory for your needs. You have cleaning supplies, holsters, pistol/rifle repair kits, and many other things including ammunition. You also have pistols and rifles you can purchase, and you even can rent their firearms. The rentals are for their indoors shooting range. One side of the range covers 25yds and the other option is the 50yds. A really good feature about both of these ranges is the fact, they have automatic target retrievers. While I belong to a club, I still go to Wolcott often to use the indoor range. The staff is knowledgeable and accommodating. Prices are good and while they don't have a huge inventory, they can order in pretty much anything you might want. Given the hostile political environment in NY, they do everything that they can. They have also helped me a couple of times for ordering online and they handle the transfer as an FFL. read more

This is a great establishment. They not only have what you may need or want, they have knowledgeable staff members. This is not just a store, it also has conference rooms for groups to gather to learn. They also issue fishing licenses as well. I've shot my pistols here three times this winter. I try to go early on Tuesday to avoid the crowd and the big noisy guns. With double hearing protection, I shoot my little 22's with no problem. Several times I had the range to myself for an hour. Great place and very nice, helpful people. Sort of like a small "Gun Center " with a range. Good shooting environment. Targets come to you so it is a lot easier and safer than having to go downrange to setup. Give it a try if you have cabin fever. $20/hour and they do give veterans a discount. read more

I just started coming here in July on Wednesday nights (Ladies Night). I rented a different type of firearm each week to get the feel for what I would like to purchase. All staff members I have engaged with are knowledgeable and willing to help. I purchased a Used 9mm Sig Sauer and am extremely pleased with the performance. They ran an anniversary sale where you could stock up on bullets BEFORE September 13th. I signed up for Training with Ed. Very beneficial and well worth the price I paid. I now know how to stand correctly, aim etc. My performance has improved greatly since my training. I encourage anyone interested in purchasing a firearm to give Wolcott's a try. This was my first time visiting a gun range here in Buffalo, so being a newbie, I had to give them my ID and fill out a waiver form (due annually). Afterwards, they looked at my gun and helped me get situated with other necessities such as ear muffs, glasses, target, etc. One of the guys took me to my lane, and showed me how to shoot and how to control the distance of my target. He made sure I was comfortable first, before leaving me alone. Our favorite range in the area. The staff is super helpful and friendly, very knowledgeable. They have a variety of guns to choose from to rent for target shooting, you can also of course bring your own. They have a 25 yard range and a 50 yard range. They sell a large variety of targets, as well as ear protection and protection. That being said they also have ammo, cleaning products, gun cases etc for purchase. They offer classes here, including the NYS pistol permit class and sell hunting licenses during that time of year. It's a great place! read more

I can't say enough about how great this place is. They have an 8 lane 25yd pistol range, an 8 lane 50yd rifle range, and an 8 lane 30yd 3D archery range. They also have a video archery, kinda like the Froghair video golf game, its def a good time. The people that work here are the best. They're helpful and actually knew my name after about 3-4 visits. They can also order just about any gun you're looking for, and so far they have been able to beat Cabela's by about $15-50 on every gun I've looked at. They also include 1 hour of range time with every gun purchase (a $17 value). They rent guns, have a fair amount of merchandise in shop, offer many types of classes, and have a great gun smith in house as well. read more

I would say first off the check out process is kinda stupid.i waited 10 15 mins just to pay and get my id back. The customer service is not very good. This is common in the shooting world unfortunately. Everyone is stupid but them kinda deal and hey I get it there are a lot of new shooters out I'm not one of them but it's your job teach them something instead of talking down to them or treating them like there stupid. I'll give you an example my friend was shooting at the firing line I was hanging back this buzzer goes off well he shot a few more rounds mind you this thing kept going off maybe it was broken I don't know but this guy comes out and got really really nasty with him and scolded him on when the buzzer goes stop shooting my friend replayed sorry I didn't see a sign or anything that said this or did you tell us this when we first got there.it should have stopped there but the guy continued to scold him until my friend started yelling back then tuff guy went back to we're ever he came from. So your charged for I think 45 mins or an hour well this thing went off a dozen times in that 45 min window so you stop shooting but your sure charged for the whole time. It's an indoor range they all seem to have bad customer service so I won't say it's any better or worse then any other indoor range but it would be my last resort if you want to shoot. And just be prepared to deal with some not so friendly people. Probably won't be going back unless it's dead of winter and I'm beyond desperate to pop off a few rounds read more

This is my go to gun range in WNY. I come here fairly frequently, I have brought my wife here to practice her target shooting and if she gives it a thumbs up, it is definitely worthy. The staff here is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, they will set you up with guns to rent, lanes to rent, and any gear you need for the range such as ear protection, eye protection, targets etc. they also sell ammo, and we even bought a scope here once for my wife. They have two different ranges for use, depending on how far you are looking to shoot. I came to a midnight glock release party here with a friend as well, and it an awesome event. After visiting some other big box hunting stores in the area I came to wolcott. Josh and the people at wolcott are very knowledgeable professional and helpful. I came in thinking I knew exactly what I wanted and Josh looked up the ballistics and data on some alternatives for me all while providing great knowledge of local hunting as well as the firearm. I ended up purchasing a special order of the rifle he recommended and know he helped me make the right choice. However when it came in I ended up deciding I did not want a rifle for the time being and Josh helped me work out a return that was fair for me and the store even though special orders are typically non refundable. I will certainly purchase my rifle when the time comes from Wolcott thanks to their friendly, knowledgeable, and and professional service as well as prices that beat out even what I could find online! read more

Came here for the first time today with a group of friends. Was a little packed when we got there, but we only had to wait about 10 minutes which was fine with me. I did not know they offered firearm rentals. I was thinking of getting a new pistol and decided to rent a Glock 19. Got to shoot my rifles that i brought with me and the rental which was great and now i am sold on that pistol. Place is pretty clean and the employees were very helpful and friendly. I've been here more than a dozen times over the last year with very consistent service and no complaints. I have also purchased firearms here. Great range and the people are great. The staff is knowledgeable and will spend the time with you. It's also nice if you purchase a weapon there you get an hour of range time with purchase. The only downfall with this place is the in house gunsmith. Although he is a nice guy and supposedly had gone to a gunsmith college. I don't trust him to do anything but put maybe a scope on. Had a friend take his handgun in to have a spring replaced and the gunsmith cut a pen spring and put that in the handgun. Not only did it not fit. It didn't have the tension required to do the proper job. They did refund the money on the work. So he took it to the Gun Center which replaced it with a factory spring. Gun works fine now. But otherwise it is convenient and clean. Hope they stay in business for years too come. read more

cleaning one of my pistols today i had a little mishap that started with a malfunction in the cylinder with a projectiling spring that i couldn't figure out how to put properly back together. So I called the place where i bought it '(also a local shop who's been around forever) asking if i could speak with the gun smith for a moment. Not only was I told no i was told "this particular revolver is something we wont touch. We dont recommend that manufacturer to anyone". So i now find myself laughing thinking wow a gunsmith that discriminates, and saying "wow thats funny you guys weren't saying that when i bought it from you not to long ago. So im told in a condescending voice " yha, well bring it in we'll try and help you but dont expect it back any time soon". Soo with that said i hang up and call Wolcott . Hey can i speak with a smith? Absolutely, one sec. I once again explain my issue and im instructed over the phone in how to fix it. I was also told if you have anymore issues bring it in and as long as nothings broken ill fix it for free. So i cant figure this dam thing out so I grab a $20 i was gonna give him for a tip and head in . Not only was the staff helpful the customers were all super friendly to. They helped me out quickly and sent me on my way. I've never used a indoor range but with winter coming i will absolutely be back to use their facilities soon and i will buy future fire arms from them. Wolcott gun center/range and all of it employees are fantastic. Once I received my pistol permit the first place I went to was Walcott to purchase my first pistol in which I did. I am very pleased with the salesmen (Doug) who took the time and effort with helping me pick out the right handgun that I would be able to handle and all I can say is I'm very pleased with my purchase. I also like the idea of Wolcott on all the gun class they have to offer which I already have taken my first beginner gun handling class with Conrad and I can't say enough on how much time and effort he puts in with each and every one of his students on showing us the proper way of handling a pistol.
